Issue with authenticating a user in OBIEE Application
We have few users all of which are able to authenticate themselves in the QA Environment. When we moved the webcatalog from DEV to QA one of the users named CAROLAIG stopped geting authenticated and hence couldnot enter in to the system. We tried deleting the CAROLAIG and CAROLAIG.atr from the Users folder present in the wecatalog but it did not help. The issue is coming up after the webcatalog migration. We are failing to understand how the webcatalog controls the authentication mechanism and make this happen. All the other users continue to work perectly.
The OBIEE version used is 11.1.1.5. The complete webcatalog migration from dev to QA has been done.

Hi,
Its not the catalog which takes care of authentication but its the OPSS. In OBIEE, the catalog and .rpd hold the GUID of the users in the OpenLDAP of weblogic (If not integrated with any other authentication mechanism). The GUID from the Active Directory is always cross-checked with the one stored in catalog and .rpd during authentication.
So, in your case too the GUID (old one that was got from QA LDAP) might have conflicted with the new one from the production environment and hence the user fails to be successfully authenticated and hence needs a refresh.There are some steps to refresh the GUID in your case in oracle documentation.

An issue with authentication and authorization on ISE 1.2
Hi, I'm new to ISE.
I have an issue with authentication and authorization.
I have ISE 1.2 plus patch 6 installed on VMware.
I have built-in Windows XP supplicant and 2960 cisco switch with IOS c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-2.SE5.bin
On supplicant I use EAP(PEAP) with EAP-MSCHAP v2.
I created authentication and authorization rules with Active Directory as External Identity Source. Also I applied authorization profile with DACL.I login on Windows XP machine under different Active Directory accounts. Everything works fine (authentication, authorization ), but only for several hours. After several hours passed , authentication and authorization stop working . I can see that ISE trying authenticate and authorize users, but ISE always use only one account for authentication and authorization . Even if I login under different accounts ISE continue to use only one last account.
I traied to reboot switch and PC,but it didn’t help. Only rebooting of ISE helps. After ISE rebooting, authentication and authorization start to work properly for several hours.
I don’t understand is it a glitch or I misconfigured ISE or switch, supplicant?
What should I do to resolve this issue?

endYes. Tried that (several times) didn't work. 5 people in my office, all with vers. 6.0.1 couldn't access their gmail accounts. Kept getting error message that username and password invalid. Finally solved the issue by using Microsoft Exchange and "m.google.com" as server and domain and that the trick. Think there is an issue with imap.gmail.com and IOS 6.0.1. I'm sure the 5 of us suddently experiencing this issue aren't the only ones. Apple will figure it out. Thanks.

Issue with Active Directory User Target Recon

I am facing an issue with Active Directory User Target Recon
My environment is OIM 11g R2 with BP03 patch applied
AD Connector is activedirectory-11.1.1.5 with bundle patch 14190610 applied
In my Target there are around 28000 users out of which 14000 have AD account (includes Provisioned,Revoked,Disabled accounts)
When i am running Active Directory User Target Recon i am not putting any filter cleared the batch start and batch size parameters and ran the recon job .Job ran successfully but it stopped after processing around 3000 users only.
Retried the job two three times but every time it is stopping after processing some users but not processing all the users.
Checked the log file oimdiagnostic logs and Connector server logs cannot see any errors in it.
Checked the user profile of users processed can see AD account provisioned for users
My query is why this job is not processing allthe users.Please point if i am missing some thing .
thanks in advanceCheck the connector server load when you are running the recon. Last time I checked the connector, the way it was written is that it loads all the users from AD into the connector server memory and then sends them to OIM. So if the number was huge, then the connector server errored out and did not send data to OIM. We then did recon based on OUs to load/link all the users into OIM. Check the connector server system logs and check for memory usage etc.

Issues with only certain users under AD Auth

I wanted to find out of new copies of install documents for JAVA AD Auth and SSO for Windows. I have one from mid 2008. I have customer that is having a ON again OFF again issues with certain users. See error below
While processing an AS request for target service krbtgt/ROMAMOULDING.COM, the account dbowman did not have a suitable key for generating a Kerberos ticket (the missing key has an ID of 3). The requested etypes : 17. The accounts available etypes : 23 -133 -128 3 1 -140. Changing or resetting the password of krbtgt will generate a proper key.

Issues with file upload in flex mobile application (sharepoint as backend)

I am working on flex mobile application for android platform for which we are having sharepoint as a backend.
(Flex SDK 4.6 and AIR 3.9)
Issue which we are facing is as follows:

We have tried many ways to overcome from this situation. like we have checked configuration for file upload size on server , we have tried wcf services as well. Please help us on this criticle point as soon as possible

What do you mean that my video saves the contents int he server and not in transparent table? I save the data into a temporary database table so it can be accessed by the parent WDA session. From there the WDA session can do whatever it wants with it. What do you mean by transparent table - that would be a database table. Do you actually mean internal table? if so, just read the data from the temporary database table into memory. -
Issue with Network Home Users on Mountain Lion ( connecting to Lion Server)
I have been forced to setup a network user on a new mac running mountain lion because their old mac just went pop, and have run into multiple issues that I have narrowed down to them being a Network User on Mountain Lion.
1. Contacts get deleted whenever you open Mail. Mail will hang on fist launch until all your contacts in Contacts (I hate the new names! ) get deleted, console shows that the location for the address book database is invalid, seems to be an issue with ~/Library/Containers/apple.mail.com folder
2. Word documents with images in the background do not display correctly, there is a giant red cross through the document

Issues with russian language translation in ADF application
While testing the Russian translations, we are running into an issue . Basically the contents for the Russian translation when accessed from application, look all malformed. Not sure if it is related to character set encoding/decoding issues. We have no issues with German and French language, so the question is, is there anything specific that needs to be taken care for Russian language ?

And,our portal application ends up showing what is merged in(that is malformed text as opposed to properly decoded russian text) . Looks like while creating the ear file jdeveloper just picks up the encoded characters and does not actually convert it into russian text. We have set our environment to UTF8, and the browser encoding includes the Cyrillic (KOI8-R).

It seems the property files are stored somehow with wrong characterset (not UTF-8)
Have you checked for german umlaut (like ä,ü,ö,...) in your german property files too? Are they ok?
We had similar issues with the german language a long time ago and as far I can remember it was the encoding setting in jdev preferences:
Tools --> preferences --> environment --> Encoding should be "UTF-8"
Project properties --> compiler--> Character Encoding should be "UTF-8"
If you have to change this setting then you have to edit and save the russian property file again.
As mentioned in the other post you can use native2ascii (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/native2ascii.html)
at the command line to verify the encoding faster than deploying and run the application.
native2ascii is used also when you build your project in Jdeveloper to convert all the property files.

The SAWITH3 and SAWITH6 dimensions using time series fuctions are causing a full table scan on W_GL_BALANCE_F and W_GL_ACCOUNT_D . Though we are interested in just getting 2009/11 data; the queries generated by time series function TODATE is taking us against entire W_DAY_D data and is causing several performance issues.
W_GL_BALANCE_F table has index on GL_ACCOUNT_WID and BALANCE_DT_WID.
How can we force to use index on these columns for better performance.
Please advise us on the right approach to improve performance.

I've had quite a bit of performance issues with ToDate and Ago. I tended to create materialized views on my fact tables that would materialize those values as columns and that way I would avoid having to use the ToDate or Ago functions. Is there any chance you can implement a similar solution and bypass the time series functions entirely?
Just to check, those tables belong to BI Apps, right? If so, you can log an SR about the performance issue since it's an issue with the model that Oracle sold you.

Issue with Weblogic services in Linux OBIEE 11G
Hello All,
I have a OBI 11G set up on a linux OS.I am facing a issue with weblogic service.
Whenever I am trying to start the Admin server from command line using its .sh , it is starting successfully.
But whenever I am closing that Linux session or coming out of the Admin server log , this service is getting stopped on its own.
OBI is working perfectly when that Linux session and Admin server log is intact, but as soon as i close either of them Admin server shut itself down.
Please any help on this will be appreciated.

Pool connection issue with sql server database in adf application
Hi everyone
I'm Developing a BPM application using Oracle bpm 11.1.1.5.0
My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.5.0 and my database is SQL Server 2008.
I have created a new BPM application, an application module and created several view objects based on my sql server tables in the database.
I have only one initiator user task which has a task flow and one jspx page for that.
The problem :
when I deploy the application, in the bpm workspace initiator page, the page is shown correctly only once every other time.
I mean it's strange, the first time the user instantiates the process, it's shown correctly. The second time, it is not! The third time, it is! etc...
The interesting part is, when the page is not shown correctly, if I refresh the page it will be shown correctly.

I found the file and changed the SQL Flavor to SQL Server but it still shows a blank page with the error instead of the page every once in a while.

I have noticed that this time only if the user submits the page, the next time he/she initiates a new task the error appears.

We are trying to implement security through External table Authentication in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4.As a part of this process,we want to pass the credential values which are entered in login screen to the below query in the GET SQL PASSWORD section of ReadonlySQLAuthentication Provider.
select encryptfn(:USER,:PASSWORD) from Users where Username=?
Credential values which we are entering in Analytics Answers login screen are not getting passed into :USER and :PASSWORD.
Can anybody please help us what is the exact variable we should use in place of :USER and :PASSWORD in the function called from the above select statement?

Issue with Migration of Users/groups in Essbase
Hi,
am trying to migrate the users specific to the application using Advanced option through Migration Wizard (EAS 716)..But i see the users with the application on old box and when i check it after migration, am not able to see the users related to that application..
Moreover, i have copied the users specific to that application on old box into new box and after that tried of migrating the same application from old to new box...Even then am not able to see the users with application access..
Is this the right approach which am following? or Kindly suggest me the best way of migrating users/groups...
ThanksIf you chose the advanced option, you should have no problem migrating users and groups along with the application. You probably may have omitted those groups or members from the list. When you migrate do not change anything except server, App and DB names.

Issue with decreasing startup time of Air Application(Please Help)
If someone knew the answer to this it would really help me. I put a large directory into my source folder that was pulling up HTML files through a mx:html. I added a creationComplete function so a the user would fill out a registration form before they start using the application. When I run the application from Flex it runs fine but when I export the application and turn it into a .air file and install it on a computer, the application seems to be scanning the entire directory(the src folder) the application is in, including the large sub-directory housing the HTML files, before the application starts. I don't know if its the creationComplete fuction or something else, but my application did not do this before but know its doing it now. There is no need to scan the entire folder before the application starts. Does anyone know what function would be scanning the source folder before opening the application? Is it the creationComplete function? Do I have any other alternatives besides for creationComplete that will not scan the entire folder at application startup, or is there anyway to exclude a specific subdiretory (in the src folder) at startup so the a application will not scan the entire folder before opening, or should I put the creationComplete function in a separate directory.
