Issue with Internal Table

Hi All,
I have defined an internal table 'with occurs 0'.
While debuggining, i am observing that only 50,000 lines are getting populated in that internal table.
How to increase the capacity of the internal table, so that it can hold more number of lines?

I would like to explaing you all about this issue.
I have defined an internal table as follows...
data: IT_CATSDB TYPE BAPICATS2 OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
I have used a BAPI called "BAPI_CATIMESHEETRECORD_GETLIST" which will retirieve the Timesheet details of all employees within a given date range.
Now, the number of entries that we got from this BAPI are stored in the internal table it_catsdb.
I have observed that this internal table is holding max of 50k lines.
If i check the database table (CATSDB) for the same conditions in SE11, i am able to get around 1L lines.
Hence my report is showing incorrect output.
Kindly help me out with some logic, so that this internal table can hold as much as data possible without any restriction.....

No, you can not declare internal table with header line in OO context. You have to declare the work are/header line separately
Example:
TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_it_tab.
        INCLUDE STRUCTURE mara.
TYPES: tot_sum TYPE char40.
TYPES: END OF ty_it_tab.
DATA: it_tab TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ty_it_tab.
DATA: wk_tab TYPE ty_it_tab.
LOOP AT it_tab INTO wk_tab.
ENDLOOP.

Logic issue with Internal Table

Hi All,
I have an internal table with following structure.
Name of Internal table: ITAB
Fields:   userid      login date     number
Values: abc         01012008
             abc         02012008
             abc         02012008
             abc         03012008
Now i should store the value for the field itab-number, based on the ita-logindate.
If the field logindate is having same date for 2 times (for the user 'abc'),
the field itab-number should have the value as '2' .
Basically i want to display a report to show how many times a user has logged into SAP system for a given date.......
How to incorporate this logic?

I am getting problem with internal table & work area declaration.

I am working with 'makt' table ..with the table makt i need to work with styles attributes ..so i declared like this

Hello Gurus..... ISSUE with child Table update

I have an issue with child table update
I have created a GTC with one parent table and two child tables. I'm able to update the parent table and the values are found in db, but the ISSUE is the child Table values are not updating the db.
please give me a solution

If you are keeping referential integrity in the database, not in the application, it is easy to find the child and parent tables. Here is a quick and dirty query. You can join this to dba_cons_columns to find out on which columns the referential constraints are defined. This lists all child-parent table including SYS and SYSTEM users. You can run this for specific users of course.
select cons1.owner child_owner,cons1.table_name child_table,
cons2.owner parent_owner,cons2.table_name parent_table
from dba_constraints cons1,dba_constraints cons2

Issues with Advance Table Add Row New Row not work in some scenarios.

Hi,
Wondering if there's any issue with Advanced Tables where it does not create any rows. I don't know if anyone tried this or not. I have one OA Page with Advanced Table and a button that when clicked open a new OA Page in a POP-UP Window. The pop-up page conatins one textbox where u enter a data and this gets saved in one of the VO's transient attribute. Now on the ase page if you don't click a button to open a pop-up page you can Add New Rows in the Advanced Table by clicking Add Row Button. But as soon as you open a popup window and close it Add New Rows button doesn't work and is not creating any new rows. Basically page stops working. Both the POP-UP and the base page share the same AM but have different controllers.
POP-UP page is a custom page that I open giving the Destination URI value in the button item and target frame _blank.
I even tried creating rows programmatically for Advance Table but this too doesn't work once u open a pop-up. Also I have used pageContext.putTransactionValue in the pop-up page and am checking and removing this in the base page.
Any help is appreciated.

Small issue with custom table cell editor and unwanted table row selection

I'm using a custom table cell editor to display a JTree. Thing i notice is that when i select a value in the tree pop-up, the pop-up closes (as it should) but then every table row, from the editing row to the row behind the pop-up when i selected the value becomes highlighted. I'm thinking this is a focus issue, but it thought i took care of that. To clairfy, look at this: Before . Notice how the "Straightening" tree item is roughly above the "Stock Thickness" table row? When i select Straightening, this is what happens to my table: After .

As I said, you have to have empty context elements before additional rows will be open for input.
For instance if you want to start with 5 rows available for input do the following to your internal table that you will bind:
data itab type standard table of sflight.
do 5 times.
append initial line to itab.
enddo.
context_node->bind_table( itab ).
The other option if you need n number of rows is to add a button to the table toolbar for adding more rows. When this button is pressed, you add a new context element to the node - thereby creating a new empty row in the table.

Issue in Internal Table for calculating MAX value

I have internal table with data as follows:

Now I have to find out the max quantity for each materail and currency against max quantity which will be put in the dominat currency fields of Internal Table.
Eg: For material 000000000007001896, 396 is the max quantity and Currency for this is GBP so dominant currency will be GBP for first 2 records.
Similarly 646 is max for 000000000007001310 therefore GBP will be dominant curr for the records containg material 000000000007001310

Issue regarding internal tables

Dear all,
My issue is that , I need to enter data into a single internal table by fetching data from two sap tables using two different selct quries. I should not use joins or for all entries. And display the internal table data in the list.
Problem am facing is only one select query is geeting fetched and the other table data in not in the list.
Pleas provide the possible solutions.

During sending messages into internal JMS queue we sent messages bigger than 1MB. After that, JMS queue was not able to process any other messages even if it was smaller than 1MB. Same issue occured if there was more smaller messages sent in short time (e.g. in 2 seconds). We don't have any significant error message in any log.

Please let us know:
-if there is any log which indicates this behaviour without making thread dump
-which limits must be fulfilled to process messages without this error
-how to unblock this lock for processing correct messages without restarting NW - or if there is any predefined timout which kill this locked session and disable uncorrect message
-how to manage records in bc_jmsqueue table for removing big messages from queue if there were loaded already
-how to stop application which caused this problem. If we try to stop it through standard stop_App, application stays in Stopping mode forever.
This problem occured in test environment and also in productive environment using the same SAP NW. Now - we do not have any work around solution..... therefore periodically we need to restart SAP NW....

Space issue in Internal table

Hi Experts,
       I Have An issue while Appending into Internal table.
This is an outbound interface in which I have 7 different types of records. I am appending all the work area to an internal table with size 500 char. the problem is that the last field is blank in some records the spaces are trucated. I need those space at the end as that file will be encrypted and send.

Performance issues with pipelined table functions

I am testing pipelined table functions to be able to re-use the base_query function. Contrary to my understanding, the with_pipeline procedure runs 6 time slower than the legacy no_pipeline procedure. Am I missing something? The processor function is from [url http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=429]improving performance with pipelined table functions .
Edit: The underlying query returns 500,000 rows in about 3 minutes. So there are are no performance issues with the query itself.

Like:
- a database version
- how did you test
- what data do you have, how is it distributed, indexed
and so on.
If you want to find out what's going on then use a TRACE with wait events.

Performance with internal tables

Hi everybody,
I'm having trouble with the performance of a report.
The reports selects data out of many different tables and merges them together in one extraction file. (I would really like it to be executable in dialog task, because I don't want to write the file on the application sever)
I've done what I could using runtime analysis to improve performance of the db accesses. Now 97% of runtime is consumed by abap.
I'm using several internal tables which will have many entries, and at the moment I'm using nested loops to gather the information out of the internal tables into one extraction file. (Reading the internal tables with key is not always possible, I do this whenever possible)
I've tried to use loop... assigning <fs> instead of loop... into, but it doesn't really help too much.
Any other suggestions?

Hi,
Some of these might be able to help for improving the performance.
1. Read table with key using binary search.
2. While comparing two internal tables, user Kernal
 method. Eg: If I_TAB1[] = I_TAB2[]. Enfif.
3. Instead of appending records within loop/endloop,
 use 'Append lines of'.
4. When populate different internal tables, try to create
 with key field which will make a big difference while
 accessing the data.
5. Sort the internal tables.
6. Use Case/Endcase in place of If/Endif.
7. While making values negative, use 0 - <field>, in
 place of <field> * -1.
8. If the field structures are similar in two internal
 tables, for appending records use I_TAB2[] = I_TAB1[].
9. After the complete usage of internal tables, release
 the resources using FREE/FREFRESH <internal table>.
10. For data extraction, use field by field selection
 from database.
11. Try to avoid using 'ALL ENTRIES'. If using and make
 sure that the ref.internal table have entries.
12. Try using Inner Join using Foriegn key fields.
13. To get sum or count use Aggregate functions.
14. Try to use Views if need appropriately.
