Issue with logging in to my FileVault account

Hi,
I recently turned on FileVault for my account on my MacBook with OSX 10.6.7. Since then I have problems logging in to my account. After I insert my login information, it's loading my background, the top bar, sometimes the dock and it freezes. The only option is to shut down from the power button, then restart and then it works. This happens every time I turn off my computer and FileVault cleans and restores the free space.
I tried to clean up the login apps and reduced them to only 2 or 3 apps. After doing this, I manege to open my Mac without having to restart from power button and I thought that the problem was solved, but today It didn't log in. I manage to log in after a restart from the home button and now I see that some of my settings are gone (the dock is at a default state, same with Mail and spaces).
Please tell me what should I do.

Rather doubt it's a FB issue as I'm not having any issues at all.
Check Safari > Preferences > Extensions
If there are any installed, turn that off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If installed, temporarily disable anti virus softare.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can cause issues with Facebook
If nothing above applies, install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
That reinstalls any missing system files.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. It's ok to do this even though v10.6.8 is already installed.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Lion Ichat client issues with logging into SL Ichat server

We run the iChat server on our OD master running 10.6.8. We have about 250 users and it's working great for everyone on Leopard or SL (the majority of our users).
We just started upgrading people to Lion, as well as getting some new lion machines. The people who are on Lion Pre-Configured machines seem ok, but the people who we upgrade are having issues with logging into it. Sometimes it will work just fine, and other times they just can't log in. They get the ~ symbol by their status and can't connect to the server.
The only fix seems to be trashing their prefs AND rebooting, just trashing them or just rebooting don't seem to be enough to fix this. Anyone seen or have a better fix for this? It has happened more than once for the same user.

Issues with logging in to CC and missing features

My team is using CC on corporate environment PCs, Win 7 64bit. Some of the problems we have seen are:
When we buy a new adobe license for a new user our IT department has to install the Creative Cloud desktop manager and software on their PC. They do this by using an admin windows account and the new adobe login. Everything works fine for them, they are able to log in to CC and install the software, When the user logs in with their windows account and try to log in to CC with the same adobe id then they get the common issue with the sync button just turning and never logs them in. In some cases this is fixed by deleting the OOBE folder from the admin local profile allowing the other user to log in to CC but most times the IT has to resolve to rebuilding the PC and starting again.
We also hotdesk in my team.I found that when i work on my laptop or another desktop pc in the team everything is fine but if i have to use a different PC for the day i log in but don't have all the features (I can get the home feed, fonts, etc, but not the app installers)
Another member of my team works fine on that same PC but on a different PC she doesn't have all features. She gets the app installers, but not some of the other features.
It all seems to be a bit random as to who can access what.
Our corporate firewall is open to most Adobe servers, unless there is something we have missed. PCs have Adobe Air 3.1.0.4880.
These issues have been happening for months now and IT have spend hours to resolve.
Anyone else has issues using Creative Cloud in a corporate environment and are there any suggestions we can use please?

There isn't any capability for the OpenBootProm prompt
(the OK prompt you might see on your screen)
to ask you for a username or a password.
The OBP is a firmware level of the SPARC platform, not an OS nor a mini-OS.
If you have consoled in through the SF280R's RSC card, it might have its own password prompt, but the OBP itself can't do that. Additionally, the RSC doesn't show you the OK prompt either (certainly not to the extent that the more sophisticated LOM, ALOM, ILOM or System Controllers of other system designs might have.).
You made mention that you eventually see a cursor that is sitting at a prompt that shows:
Happy@solaris11 $If that is what you see, then I think you're already logged into the OS. That would seem to be a C-shell prompt, with you logged into a fully booted system named "solaris11" as username "Happy".

Since I updated Firefox (around 3/8/11) I have had issues with logging in to my Comcast email. Comcast says that it is a software incompatibility, perhaps Firefox.

I received an automated download of a new FF version around March 8. I immediately began having issues with my email accounts on Comcast.net using my desktop (Windows 7). I do not have these issues with my laptop (FF 3.6.3, 4/29/10). Comcast spent almost 2 hours with me on several sessions, and demostrated that I can reach the email account through a work around, but not directly. They said that this was a software issue with some software package interfering with my login. Comcast reps could enter my email with no issues, so it has to be at my end. I removed a recent version of Adobe Flashplayer which had autoloaded around the same time as FF; when I tried to reload Flashplayer today, it told me that it was incompatible with FF.

Issues With Log Off

Hi all ABAPers,
               We are implementing a wide range of RF programs for the SAP console Project at my client.There is an issue with the "log off" function however.Initially when i boot up the handheld device,it takes us to the log on menu.Once we log off the Device,it takes us to the sapconsole propmt and then when i hit alt + X,it takes me back to a DOS propmt.I admit that i am not familiar with the concepts of sapconsole and the layers,shells involved.However,i need to go back to the main log on menu , once i log off.Is this an ABAP programming issue or does it need additional configuration from the SAPconsole team.I greatly appreciate any insight provided on this issue.

    So I guess I jumped the gun, while restoring my iPhone did solve the problem, for that instances, It is still not working. I have tried to sync my music again and what I am seeing is while iTunes is going through the steps everthing looks fine, until it gets to the final step then I notice the blue bar ( indicates how much music is on the phone ) it goes back down to the orignal
there was another symbol, that was showing up next to the unsynced songs, however since posting this I was
able to sync that phone, and that symbol is gone, but I would like to find out what the problem is.
    I wish I could go back and mark this unsolved, maybe a mod can help with that.

Issues with Logging..

Our application logs error and diagnostic messages to a server log on each application server. Although the application functions correctly, we noted in our test environment that a significant number of warning entries can be written to the server log. These can be easily identified as they all have the same warning code (27718) and we have confirmed that they are not written by the our application code.

The problem you are facing is your application somehow uses validating parser on XML messages which do not define their DTD.

All in all, these warnings do not represent a serious issue with your application or Sun appserver. In fact you can change your appserver default log level from INFO to SEVERE and you will never see those warnings again.;)

Laptop-mode-tools issue with log / logger

I had an issue with laptop-mode-tools where systemd reported it failed (the laptop-mode service). Specifically I got an error with wireless-power in /usr/share/laptop-mode/modules/. Clearly one issue was that I did not install wireless_tools. But I had another issue: It complained with "log: command not found" so I looked into the file and there were several calls to "log [...]". I changed them to "logger [...]" and the error is gone.
Am I missing something here or is this really an issue? Maybe a bug? Or an error on my side?

I had the problem but edited the line in /usr/sbin/laptop_mode and it worked. But thoes lines are not there anymore. I guess they changed it at the recent update of laptop-mode-tools.
Regarding your heat problem; is there any other thing you use to cut down power usage (from AUR maybe)? I use acpi_call from AUR had to edit lines there aswell, but it should be updated by now.

Issues with Mail and SMTP and Gmail Accounts

So this isn't a question....more like a solution that I had to figure out.
We have multiple gmail accounts in our family and after upgrading to OSC Yosemite our gmail accounts wen't haywire. My wife was sending emails that eventually were sent from my gmail account (mass neighborhood emails at that.....and all replies came to me instead of her). I spent about 2 hours investigating and put together several different threads that finally fixed out problem. The root of the issue is that you can share the same Incoming Mail Server for all of your gmail accounts and your mail will go to the accounts that it is supposed to go to, but you have to have individual Outgoing Mail Servers for each of your accounts otherwise all outgoing mail will come from one account only. I don't know why this happened, it is a pain in the butt, but here's how I fixed it with 3 gmail accounts running through 1 mac.
1st - you need to remove all of your gmail accounts from mail via Internet Accounts in Settings. Just highlight the account and hit the minus sign at the bottom. You won't lose anything if you have your gmail settings set to default which backs everything up to Google's servers....it will all load back to you mac and it will all be available online at gmail.com
2nd - you need to add back all of your accounts one at a time (and follow all of the following steps for each account before adding another). Select the plus sign and choose Google (for gmail accounts only).
3rd - Give your gmail account a recognizable name in the "Name" field (if you have multiple Gmail accounts to add, you will want to distinguish between them).
4th - type in your username ([email protected]) and password. Make sure to add the suffix @gmail.com.
5th - Check the boxes that you want to add to your mac (mail, contacts, calendars, messages, notes).
6th - Click the "Details" button to ensure that you have an adequate description (see # 3 above) if you are going to have multiple gmail accounts to add.
7th - Open the Mail app.
8th - From Mail Preferences/Account Information Tab - make sure that you account is Enabled (check box next to "Enable Account", make sure that you have an adequate description name, email address is correct, Incoming mail server is imap.gmail.com, Username is your normal gmail login username (absent any suffix like .gmail.com), password is your gmail password.
9th - Then, from Preferences click on the Advanced tab and....Uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
10th - Then, go back to Account Information Tab and.....from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown box, select Edit SMTP List....
11th - You need to create an individual SMTP Server Account for each gmail account that you plan to add.
12th - To do this click the plus button. Server Name should always be smtp.gmail.com. Type in your own Description (I recommend naming it after the gmail account that you plan to attach it to).
13th - TLS Certificate should be "None"
14th - Click the Advanced Tab - From here, uncheck the box for "Automatically detect and maintain account settings". Then make sure Port is 587 (default is 25 for some ungodly reason). Check the box for "Use SSL".
15th - Set authentication to "Password". User name MUST contain a suffice (i.e [email protected]). Password is your normal gmail password.
16th - Click OK.
17th - Now your back at Preferences/Account Information - Link your account to the SMTP server that you just created by using the dropdown box next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
18th - Save all changes and close out of Mail App.
19th - Restart Mail and recheck steps 8-15....for some reason my passwords kept getting erased, but they eventually saved and took.
20th - Add another gmail account by following these steps and then recheck all along the way for passwords, suffixes, everything. You will want to make sure that your accounts are all properly linked to their respective Outgoing Mail Servers (hence the distinct naming descriptions).
21st - Once you have added multiple accounts send email between them to make sure that they are being sent from and received to the correct accounts.

I've been dealing with this for a month, half the month I kept changing my passwords and kept assuming I was making some mistake. It used to work fine. About a week ago I started looking for a solution and couldn't find one that worked.

OID 11.1.1.5.0 Connector Issue With Logging in OIM 11.1.1.5.0

I am using OpenLDAP as my target system for the OID connector. I am following the OID 11.1.1.5.0 documentation section "2.1.6.1 Enabling Logging on Oracle Identity Manager". I placed the first part inside the <log_handers> tag and the second part inside the <loggers> tag.

The "oid_connector.log" was created for me, but no logs are being printed out whenever I do anything related with LDAP in the OIM console.
Any insights on how to fix this issue?

Table - Issue with Logging Data Changes

Hi Experts,
My client's requirement is to log data changes happened in a table which is critical. I've selected 'Log data changes' check box in technical settings of the table. Now, I'm able to see log for all the changes i did after that. But, I'm facing following issues. Kindly help me in fixing the same.
1. The table is having two fields with same data element. In the change log SCU3, under the field name, field label mentioned in the data element is getting displayed. As, the data element is same for two fields, its difficult to find out which particular field is changed. Is there any way to display table field name instead of field label from data element?
2. Sometime, even there is change in the data record, I'm able to see a log record in the change log with caption 'Data record unchanged'. What might be the problem and how to resolve?

You just use ABAP to change the table P? In this way I think it is not change to X table.
You can upload master data to add navigation,it is a good way to bulid the SID of P table and X
table .

A small issue with iCloud, Address Book, and Admin accounts

Ok, I have a Macbook Pro running Lion/iCloud, and my wife has an iMac running Lion/iCloud.
I first noticed this issue when I went to Airdrop a file to her, and her picture in Airdrop turned into my picture that I have as my User account & "Me" in Address Book.
So I went to the iMac and noticed that the "Me" in Address Book was no longer my wife, but me. Not a big deal. I figure it must be the "new way" of iCloud. Whatever.
But I went to change her Admin account back to her normal picture and it worked. But then it changed back by itself. Annoying. I tried it again and it changed itself back again. So, it must be reading the default picture from Address Book/iCloud.
I guess the overall issue is that iCloud wants 1 identity for an entire family of devices. I understand this for syncing purposes, but it's annoying because my wife and I are not 1 person. She has her personality on her iMac, and I have mine on my MBP. That's why we have 2 different computers. (Steps off soap box).
I hope Apple loosens up a bit with iCloud and makes it a little more customizable.

Issue with logging into samples

Hi ,
When I open the enterprise sample , and enter the user id and password , I am not being logged into the portal server.Instead a the same screen again shows up.So as a workaround , I have to change the url from "\portal\dt" to "\amconsole".Then it shows logged in user as "mary".Now i again I replace "\amconsole" with "\portal\dt" . Now it logs me in.
How can I overcome this issue?

Try setting the "Default success Login URL" of Enterprise sample org to http://portal machine:port/portal/dt
Default success Login URL can be found at :
1. Login to amconsole
2. click on enterprisesample organization
3. select services for this organization
4. click on "core" and on the Right hand frame, you will find "Default success Login URL"
5. remove whatever was this in that textarea, and add http://portal machine:port/portal/dt

Issue with logging into my WRT54GX-v2

hey i need to log onto my router to take my ps3 out of the firewall, but when i log onto it i get this(see image below) there's no txt in the fields or tabs its pretty much a blank page
my linksys router model is :WRT54GX-v2
my isp is : cox
i dont know what brand the cox modem is (theres no name on it) but the model number is: u10c018
i need to get into the DMZ section to fix my ps3 network problems, what is my router doing? why does it look like this? why cant i click on anything, i dont know what this kind of issue is called

You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If the reset does not fix your system, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
