Vmmservice crash 2012 Sp1 Ru2

VMMSERVICE crashes when attempting to delete a missing VM ... pretty sure this was not the case before RU2 ...  What a mess !  When using RDS in 2012 VM's get created and deleted  when creating or removing VM pools... this leaves a HUGE mess
in SCVMM...  :(   Ideas ?

    Hi Everybody,
I have SCOM 2012 SP1 RU2, (Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft System Center 2012 SP1 - Operations Manager Server (KB2826664)) but I don't see all the Dashboard templates, I just
    see the basic templates.
I tried to do what the
article suggests (Applying KB282664 this is for SCOM 2012 SP1):
    http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/cfuller/archive/2014/04/24/operations-manager-2012-r2-ur2-has-a-great-surprise.aspx

  • MMC crashes when attempting modification of a protection group in DPM 2012 SP1 RU3

    Hi All,
I've got a problem with my DPM 2012 SP1 server for a few weeks now. It's backing up and restoring fine, but when I attempt to modify any protection group, the MMC crashes. This happens even before the modify protection group dialog is displayed, just a few
seconds after clicking 'modify' with the protection group selected.
it was running DPM 2012 SP1 RU1, is now running RU3, this update did not make the difference I was hoping for. Also installation of the DPM console on a remote management server results in the exact same problem.
Below is the error message. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem and solved it?

The manifest files are located on the RMS at the \Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\ root directory. The manifest files will need to be edited for the config and sdk service on affected RMS. The file names are:
    Microsoft.Mom.Sdk.ServiceHost.exe.config
    Microsoft.Mom.ConfigServiceHost.exe.config
In between the EXISTING <runtime> and </runtime> lines – you need to ADD a NEW LINE with the following:
    <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>

  • Exe compiled in LV 2010 crash - Since installing LV 2012 SP1 and 2013

Exe compiled in LV 2010 crash - Since installing LV 2012 SP1 and 2013
Double-click on exe icons (LV apps written in 2010), the application icon appears on taskbar then disappears (program crashes).
I have tried re-installing the exe's but doesn't fix.  Is there an issue with the new LV RTE's?
    Any suggestions for fix???

    battler,
Have you tried making your exe into a debuggable exe? You can do this through your project build specification Advanced>>Enable Debugging. Make sure you check the box for Wait for Debugger. This means when you launch your exe you can connect to it from LabVIEW and see your block diagrams, use highlight execution, probles etc. It is quite possible that you are running into an error case while your program is loading and it is exiting.

  • Restoring DPMDB 2012 SP1 to a New Server

    Greetings,
I am in the middle of moving primary DPM servers.  This was not for the purpose of upgrading DPM.  We were running DPM 2012 SP1 on Server 2012, using a remote instance of SQL 2012.  Now, I am moving to a new DPM server (using DPM 2012 SP1
on Server 2012) using a local instance of SQL 2012 and trying to restore the DPMDB
Steps I have taken so far:
-Performed a backup of the DPMDB using DPMBackup.  The backup completed successfully.
-Gave the new server the same name as the old server (call it DPM1)
-Gave it the same IP address
    -Removed old server from AD/network
-Copied the DPMDB.bak file created by DPMBackup to the new DPM server.
    -Installed SQL 2012 and updates
-Installed DPM 2012 SP1 and updates. (4.1.3417.0).  I did NOT however, install DPM in the default location.  I installed it to E:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012...
-Attached the SAN that the old DPM server was using to the new one.  All disks are intact.
My problem comes when I try to run the DPMSync.exe utility.  It crashes when I type in the following command from an elevated prompt:
    DPMSync -restoredb -dbloc E:\DPMDB\DPMDB.bak
    I receive the following error(s):

The bolded parts are the parts that confuse me.  I never specified a restore to that location.  The "D" drive is my DVD drive on the server.  The only thing that I can figure is that it is trying to use the drive letter from the
old server.  However, I haven't ran across any documentation when using this tool that I had to name my drives identical to the old server, just the machine name.  I also named the databases the same as well.  I tried specifying a database name
using -DpmDbName, but that didn't work either.
I'm certain I'm missing something, but I have no idea what it is.  Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.
    -Mike

    Hi,
You can use SQL Management Studio to restore the database, and under the OPTIONS settings, change the path to the files.  When you do the restore the files will be placed in the path specified.  If you wish to overwrite the current DB
files, be sure to select the overwrite option.

  • Service Manager Authoring Tool 2012 SP1 Missing DLL's

    Hello All,
Originally posed this to the MS partner forums and was asked to post here.
I'm hoping someone familiar with the Authoring Tool For service Manager can help me. I'm using the Service Manager Authoring Tool 2012 SP1 found at the link below. I believe this to be the latest available.
Although the splash screen says Service Pack 1 Beta? Hoping the dev forgot to update the splash screen.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36214
I'm trying to create a new custom Service Request form and am getting prompted for some DLL's that seem to be workstation related or at least the Aerolite.dll makes me thing Windows Aero. (Could be wrong)
I've successful created a new Management pack, and I created a new Class that inherits the properties of the Service Request Class. I've added all the properties I need for the new form. All is well no issues there.
The next step is to create a new custom form. I select the create new custom form. Give it a simple name, and select my assembly then the form type. I'm then prompted for several DLL files that are not on my system
and I'm not sure where to find them.
    The DLL's are:
    Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.UI.ExtendedControls.Aerolite.dll
    WPFTToolkit.AeroLite.dll
I can select cancel several times to get ride of the prompt for the DLL's and can customize the from without issues. I don't think this is correct but I have been able to create the form.
Does anyone know where I can find the above DLLs? Am I doing something incorrect here? Is this a bug in the authoring tool? If so is there an updated version I should be using?
I also receive the same prompt for DLLs when attempting to create a custom incident form....
My test environment is running Server 2012 R2 with Service Manager 2012 SP1. Went ahead and tried this using the Service Manager 2012 SP1 Eval VHD and had the same issue...

    Hello Gabe,
The following post provides some insight on the Aero DLL's.
    Hi Matt,
The Aero dll is only available on Vista so the tool will not find it when running on a different OS (e.g. Server 2008). However, you can safely cancel out of that it does not affect the form.
Regarding moving controls between tabs, unfortunately that's not supported this release.
It sounds like you did everything right, so let us try your MP here and see if we can reproduce the crash you are seeing and investigate it.
    Thanks,
    Cori
Another post regarding 'Beta' on the splash screen.

  • Measurement Computing USB-DIO96H driver issue with Labview 2012 SP1 on Windows 7 x64

Is anyone else having issues with measuremetn Computing's USB-DIO96H driver in Labview 2012 SP1. It throws warnings in Labview when loaded that are unresolvable as you can't save to the DLL driver file. Also it regularily crashes Labview randomly. I am not impressed with their driver. Anyone have any suggestion other than replacing with NI-DAQ solution, which I am working on?

I've taken a look and I don't see any drivers available for that device on ni.com. There are two potential workarounds that would both involve building your own driver:
    1. Write a LabVIEW application that calls functions on the DLL you downloaded from Measurements Group
    2. Write a LabVIEW application that addresses the device using NI-VISA and serial communication.
Some resources if you choose to go down that path:

  • Force LabView 2012 SP1 f4 patch installation

    Hi,
it was necessary to repair my LabView 2012 SP1 installation. When I start LV now
it has the version 12.0.1. I had installed also f4-Patch. When I try to install the f4 patch
now after my repair installation it doesn't work.
How can i force the installation of LV2012 SP1 f4 patch?
    Regards

    Hi Chris,
no, i don't get any error message. The installer told me only "nothing to update" as text message
    inside of the installer window.
    1. i have had installed LV 2012 SP1 f4
    2. than LabView crashed sometimes
    3. than i made a repair installation of LabView 2012 SP1 (from DVD)
    4. tried to install the f4 Patch afterwards (as download and via update service, tried both)
I don't know where the patch setup gets it's information about
the installed LV 2012 version, but it seems that a repair installation
doesn't reset that information and let that info still on patch level f4.
However, i deinstalled all developer editions and removed everything from
NI and reinstalled my developer editions. That was, for me, the only way
to get my LabView back on patch level f4.
I didn't find any setup switch to force the installation (the info was shown with "/?" as parameter)

  • WA 2012 sp1 - Error viewing attachments SOAP streaming error

Getting Soap Attachment Stream Error: [8911], when attempting to access attachments via webaccess.
This problem predates the 2012 sp1 install, not sure if the error number is the same, but it's likely.
Everything is on the same box, as far as the GW agents go. WA DVA POA.
    Apache also.
All same IP address. Linux. It's a VM.
    From the docs -
    8911 Cannot write on connection
    Source: GroupWise engine; TCP/IP communication.
Explanation: Cannot write on connection; the receiver isnt
    responding.
Possible Cause: A client or server machine has crashed, or the process
was forced to close without shutting down. The machine might have been
    exited while connections were active.
    Action: Restart the GroupWise client.
Possible Cause: If this error occurs from the POA, the server where the
POA runs might not have the most current version of TCP/IP.
Action: Install the latest TCP/IP. For technical services and file
    updates, see Novell Support.
It's a "hard" problem, identical each time. I do not believe this is a
    comms problem.
I could accept that it is a problem with a "dead" port, or an incorrect
port, or another configuration issue, but I have nothing to go on.
Any ideas on what to check?
