Issue with Oracle Alerts after a recent chagne
Hi,
We use Oracle Alerts to send remainder emails regarding pending notifications. And we have configured these alerts to be run on specific dates of a month like 12th and 15th. For fixing any issues, we do the changes on our dev/test instance and extract them to an LDT and get them tested on QA instance and then move it to Production instance.
We have made a recent change to couple of the alerts which were supposed to be run on every 12th and 15th day of a calendar month, but after the changes they are run daily.
Following are the changes:
LDT extract before change:
BEGIN ALR_ALERTS "XBOL" "BAC OTL India Payroll Reminders to Managers on 12"
OWNER = "05132"
ALERT_CONDITION_TYPE = "P"
ENABLED_FLAG = "Y"
START_DATE_ACTIVE = "2009/08/13 00:00:00"
DESCRIPTION = "Payroll Reminders to Managers on 12th of month"
FREQUENCY_TYPE = "M"
MONTHLY_CHECK_DAY_NUM = "12"
DATE_LAST_CHECKED = "2010/02/22 05:12:08"
MAINTAIN_HISTORY_DAYS = "5"
CHECK_START_TIME = "48600"
SQL_STATEMENT_TEXT =
"SELECT\n\
LDT extract after change:
BEGIN ALR_ALERTS "XBOL" "BAC OTL India Payroll Reminders to Managers on 12"
OWNER = "021Y3"
ALERT_CONDITION_TYPE = "P"
ENABLED_FLAG = "Y"
START_DATE_ACTIVE = "2009/08/13 00:00:00"
DESCRIPTION = "Payroll Reminders to Managers on 12th of month"
FREQUENCY_TYPE = "M"
MONTHLY_CHECK_DAY_NUM = "12"
DATE_LAST_CHECKED = "2010/02/22 05:12:08"
MAINTAIN_HISTORY_DAYS = "30"
CHECK_START_TIME = "0"
SQL_STATEMENT_TEXT =
"select\n\
From the above, you can see nothing apart from MAINTAIN_HISTORY_DAYS & CHECK_START_TIME and the SQL query has been changed. Still the frequence type is M(monthly) and day to run is 12th. But still its being run daily.
Can you please let me know why changing history days and check start time is impacting the alert behavior over here. Is this expected behavior ?
Is it due to the date_last_checked being in 2010 ? If so, why the same behavior wasn't observed before change/fix ?
Regards,
Pramod.
Thanks for your response Gaurav. Reviewed the pointed out metalink note id's and they were very helpful.
The NEXT_SCHEDULED_CHECK in alr_periodic_alerts_view is set to 'T' for these two alerts which means it will be picked up by the next Periodic Scheduler run and hence it picked up. That clarifies the issue.
But this behavior was experienced only after the recent change, and with the past changes to these alerts, it used to get fired only on the scheduled date(like 12th in this case) and even at that times the NEXT_SCHEDULED_CHECK was set to 'T'.
The only extra modification this time was CHECK_START_TIME which was changed from 48600 to 0.
I was able to investigate further on this and when I set this back to 48600 and take date_last_checked back in time for this alert, it was not getting fired/run in the next time. Its running on the scheduled date only.
Appreciate any explanation on this ?

Facing Issue With Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0
Hi All,
I am facing some issues with ORACLE SOA SUITE 11.1.1.3.0.
Hope you people can help us out.
Please find the issue details below along with all the relevant information’s
I have following SOA suite installation at my server:
Oracle 10g Express Edition Universal 10.2.0.1
RCU 11.1.1.3.3
Web Logic Server 10.3.3.0
SOA suite 11.1.1.3.0
JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
The first thing what I have done is created a web service and deployed it to server without any issue.
After that I created proxy client for that service and accessed it successfully from the client end.
Till here no issue occurs.
After that I applied few policies on top of web service and deployed it to server.
The policy I had chosen was “oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy” [coming under OWSM policies list]
While deploying there was no issue, all went well.
2nd step I had created client using “oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy” policy which is counter part of above policy and tried to access the web service but failed.
I have followed this blog:
[http://biemond.blogspot.com/2010/08/things-you-need-to-do-for-owsm-11g.html ]
Please have a look on service and client code:
Service Code:
package Demo_ScoreCard;
import javax.jws.WebService;
import weblogic.wsee.jws.jaxws.owsm.SecurityPolicy;
@WebService
@SecurityPolicy(uri = "oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy")

public double getPercentageWithPolicy(double markEng,double markMath,double markHindi,double markScience,double markSsc)
double result;
result= ((markEng+markHindi+markMath+markScience+markSsc)/500)*100;
return result;
Client Code:
package com.tec.proxy.client;
import java.util.Map;
import javax.xml.ws.BindingProvider;
import javax.xml.ws.WebServiceRef;
import weblogic.wsee.jws.jaxws.owsm.SecurityPolicyFeature;

public static void main(String[] args) {
scoreCardWithPolicyService = new ScoreCardWithPolicyService();
SecurityPolicyFeature[] securityFeatures =new SecurityPolicyFeature[] { new SecurityPolicyFeature("oracle/wss_http_token_client_policy") };
ScoreCardWithPolicy scoreCardWithPolicy =scoreCardWithPolicyService.getScoreCardWithPolicyPort(securityFeatures);
Map<String, Object> reqContext =((BindingProvider)scoreCardWithPolicy).getRequestContext();
reqContext.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "testclient");
reqContext.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, "test12345"); // I have added this to the myrealm from console under security realms
double arg1 = 77.2;
double arg2 = 79.2;
double arg3 = 77.2;
double arg4 = 76.2;
double arg5 = 67.2;
double clientResult =scoreCardWithPolicy.getPercentageWithPolicy(arg1, arg2, arg3, arg4,arg5);
System.out.println("clientResult with policy =====> " + clientResult);

Process exited with exit code 1.
Not getting any help from any blog. Just wondering why this error is coming. I would be glad if you can help us in this regard.
Apart from above issue I have few queries like:
1.What is difference between OWSM policies and WLS policies?
2.Are these the only policies we can apply on top of services?
3.If some one wants to configure his own custom policies than what need to be done
4.Could anyone please provide some useful links to implement ENCYPTION and SIGNATURE on top of web services?
5.And If I am not wrong, I guess Oracle Service BUS OSB 11.1.1.3 has been removed from the main download link and version 11.1.1.4 has been provided. Is it
compatible with SOA suite 11.1.1.3.0? If not where can I get OSB 11.1.1.3?
Looking forward to hear from you people.
Thanks
Arvind

Edited by: user8490871 on Apr 15, 2011 12:53 AMHi,
I don't know why u get an error. Here are answers for additional questions:
1. OWSM policies are for web services. WLS policies are based on Java EE security. They are used to protect resources e.g. URL, EJB
2. I don't know about other policies
3. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e13713/owsm_appendix.htm#CHDCHFBH
4. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/security.1111/e10037/toc.htm
5. I can see OSB 11.1.1.3 download link here

Issues with Oracle in a new location.
Hello -
I recently had to change the computer name of a Windows 2003 SP2 test server. Among other software installed was Oracle 10g r2. There were issues with Oracle in its new location where it was trying to reference the old computer name.
I assumed that all I would have to do to correct the issue was to search all of Oracle’s .ORA files and replace the old server name with the new one. (Plus, of course, changing the Windows Host file entry).
But I’m finding that Oracle on Windows apparently has many other references to the original computer name. For example, there are subdirectories in the Oracle Home directory tree structure where the directories themselves contain the old computer name. (I’ve attached a screenshot of a file search off the Oracle directory tree for “BRI2KSRV” which is the test server’s old name. “Bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com” was the server’s old fully qualified name. ORCL is/was the default instance name).
For example, these directories were found:
..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com_orcl
..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\log\bri2ksrv
..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com_orcl
What are the recommended steps when changing the Windows computer name (and thus the fully qualified network references) on a Windows 2003 Server which has a functioning Oracle 10g R2 instance?
Thanks!These directory you mentioned are EM control directory. You need to reconfigure your EM with new server name.
If you are using server name instead of IP address in listener.ora and tnsnames.ora you need to change these as well. -
Performance issues with Oracle EE 9.2.0.4 and RedHat 2.1
Hello,
I am having some serious performance issues with Oracle Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.4 and RedHat Linux 2.1. The processor goes berserk at 100% for long (some 5 min.) periods of time, and all the ram memory gets used.
Some environment characteristics:
Machine: Intel Pentium IV 2.0GHz with 1GB of RAM.
OS: RedHat Linux 2.1 Enterprise.
Oracle: Oracle Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.4
Application: We have a small web-application with 10 users (for now) and very basic queries (all in stored procedures). Also we use the latest version of ODP.NET with default connection settings (some low pooling, etc).
Does anyone know what could be going on?
Is anybody else having this similar behavior?
We change from SQL-Server so we are not the world expert on the matter. But we want a reliable system nonetheless.
Please help us out, gives some tips, tricks, or guides
Thanks to all,
FrankThank you very much and sorry I couldnt write sooner. It seems that the administrator doesnt see the kswap going on so much, so I dont really know what is going on.
We are looking at some queries and some indexing but this is nuts, if I had some poor queries, which we dont really, the server would show pick right?
But he goes crazy and has two oracle processes taking all the resources. There seems to be little swapping going on.
Son now what? They are all ready talking about MS-SQL please help me out here, this is crazy!!!
We have, may be the most powerful combinations here. What is oracle doing?
We even kill the Working Process of the IIS and have no one do anything with the database and still dose two processes going on.
Can some one help me?
Thanks,
Frank -

Select ▹ Software Update to install the latest Java update (if Java is already installed) or the Flashback malware removal tool (if Java is not installed under Lion), as well as any other available updates. Installing either of those items should clear the infection in most cases. You must update to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7 before you can install the Java update.
The removal tool runs automatically in the background and is then deleted. Don’t look for something to click. If the malware is removed, you’ll be notified.

Issue with Oracle LONG RAW data type
Hi All,
I am facing some issues with Oracle LONG RAW DATA Type.
We are using Oracle 9IR2 Database.
I got a table having LONG RAW column and I need to transfer the same into another table having LONG RAW column.
When I tried using INSERT INTO SELECT * command (or) CREATE TABLE as select * , it is throwing ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype.
I have gone through some docs and found we should not use LONG RAW using these operations.
So I did some basic PLSQL block given below and I was able to insert most of the records. But records where the LONG RAW file is like 7O kb, the inserting is faliling.
I tried to convert LONG RAW to BLOB and again for the record where the LONG RAW is big in size I am getting (ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error) error.
Appreciate if anyone can help me out here.

Performance issue with view selection after migration from oracle to MaxDb
Hello,
After the migration from oracle to MaxDb we have serious performance issues with a lot of our tableview selections.
Does anybody know about this problem and how to solve it ??
Best regards !!!
Gert-JanHello Gert-Jan,
most probably you need additional indexes to get better performance.
Using the command monitor you can identify the long running SQL statements and check the optimizer access strategy. Then you can decide which indexes might help.
If this is about an SAP system, you can find additional information about performance analysis in SAP notes 725489 and 819641.
SAP Hosting provides the so-called service 'MaxDB Migration Support' to help you in such cases. The service description can be found here:
http://www.saphosting.de/mediacenter/pdfs/solutionbriefs/MaxDB_de.pdf
http://www.saphosting.com/mediacenter/pdfs/solutionbriefs/maxDB-migration-support_en.pdf.

Issues with SharePoint 2013 after upgrading from windows 2012 to 2012 r2
We have a Sharepoint with Sp1 environment on windows 2012. Recently we upgraded the windows 2012 to 2012 r2. After the upgrade sharepoint environment is completely unstable.
At first all the sites returned 401 errors. After resolving by resetting the object cache accounts the sites are back.
Then i see that none of the performance point dashboards work. I figured that claims to windows token service is defaulted to local system account. I previously configured with a domain account. I reconfigured to work with domain account.
All the dashboard pages throw error.
Some Error logs:Failed to get document content data. System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Cannot complete this function at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSqlClient.GetDocumentContentRow
Application error when access /Dashboards/Performance Dashboard/Main.aspx, Error=The EnableScriptGlobalization property cannot be changed during async postbacks or after the Init event. at System.Web.UI.ScriptManager.set_EnableScriptGlobalization(Boolean

4. I tried to create a new dashboard and this time the performancepoint designer wont launch. After some troubleshooting i see that c2w host file didnot have the caller C:\Program Files\Windows Identity Foundation\v3.5.
I added <add value="WSS_WPG" /> and now it launches
5. Now the Dashboard launches and peruser identity works without having kerberos enabled at IIS. I have all the spn and required delegations setup for this url . But i did not configure at the IIS level
yet.
It looks like lot of things got messed up and reset. Can we upgrade to windows 2012 r2 with a sharepoint application inplace. what is the recommended approach and Whats happening with Performancepoint dashboards. IS there a known issue with sharepoint 2013
sp1.
Raj-ShptThanks for the above article. Few issues are solved . One of the main issue is with Performancepoint Dashboard.
I have all the spn and required delegations setup for this url . But i did not configure at
the IIS level yet. Still per user identity works without having kerberos enabled at IIS.

Multpile Email issue in Oracle Alert
Hi,
I need to do a customization where email needs to be sent when the quote gets Approved. I used Oracle Alerts for that. I have defined the alert on aso_quote_headers_all by checking 'After Update' option.
Whenever we approve the quote, there are multiple requests get initiated (which we can see from Request Menu of Alert Manager). Also we get multiple emails for single update.
Can anyone please suggest what could be the issue.
Thanks,Thanks to All for the response.
The issue is resolved when i used Peiodic Alert.
As 'thefurryone' said, Eventalert fires action for each ACTUAL table update. By ACTUAL, I meant the updates which are not visible to the enduser.
You may chk at the below metalink notes to get a better idea.

Issues with Character Pallete after latest PS CS6 update
Since the latest update earlier this week, I've experienced major issues with the character palette - particularly the point size and tracking. The tracking issue is by far the greater of these two evils and the following explains the issues I've observed:
tracking - the number you type isn't the number used to set the tracking. The slider and up/down arrows do not remedy this problem, though they make it slightly more predictable. The number that appears seems random, though I've noticed a pattern in some instances (typing 20 sets tracking 18, typing 40 sets it 36, typing 60 sets it 54, and so on). This issue also appears to be connected to free transforming a text layer, so the pattern is possibly based on the percentage of scaling.
font size - the number you type works if size is increased in small increments to a certain point. Then it max's out, and this error appears repeatedly (after ok is clicked the error pops back up)
I've searched the web for resolutions to the issue and haven't found anything. This is what I've tried and none of it worked to any lasting degree:
- set units to pixels in preferences and restart photoshop
- set units back to points in preferences and restart photoshop
- restart photoshop and pc (several times)
- shut down photoshop and pc (several times)
- unplug pc and discharge staticI dont know the the below link. But if you go to Photoshop .com feedback. And go to Topics>Problems and sort by most recent, these text bug topics should be on that page. (I created the last one "Scrubby Leading Bug")
Text layer inconsistent property values (new in 13.0.5 / 13.0.1.2)
Photoshop: Font style size problems in CS6
Photoshop CS6: program error from vector tools, multiple text layer font size weirdness

I am writing a search tool using the ultra search engine in the background to make a search across an Oracle 9i database hitting various tables and columns.
The search is working great and the product is working wonderful. However, I have a slight problem. I developed the Java application that interfaces to the UltraSearch Engine using classes12.jar and nls_charset.jar - I have been recently informed that I need to use ojdbc14.jar and equivalent classes as we are developing in a jdk1.4 environment.
Now I have everything working correctly and have no issues with using the classes12.jar within a jdk1.4 environment, but when I switched to use the new drivers the document.getURL() and document.getLanguage() both return "???" as a value and before they were returning values I could parse (in the case of the getURL() call).
I have done some experimentation and found that if I remove nls_charset.jar from my classes12.jar - I don't get "???" but I do get garbled text that is unparseable so I am convinced the issue is around the charset implementation and globalization process.
I need help and I really have no idea at this point where to look and what to do? I have searched and queried every place I can and tried numerous variations but I still end up with "???" from those calls when I use the jdk 1.4 drivers?
Can someone please help or push me down another path?
Guyuser472953,
It's the driver. Try using "nls_charset12.jar" in your common/lib directory. I'd upload mine if I could, but you should be able to find it somewhere on oracle.com (hopefully).
Good luck,

Performance Issue with RF Scanners after SAP Enhancement Pack 5 Upgrade
We are on component version SAP ECC 6.0, and recently upgraded to Enhancement Pack 5. I believe we are on Net Weaver 7.10, and using RF scanners in one plant that is Warehouse Managed. Evidentially when we moved to EHP5, the Web SAP Console went away and we are left with ITS Mobile. This has created several issues and continues to be a performance barrier for the forklift drivers in the warehouse. We see there is a high use of java script, and the processors canu2019t handle this. When we login to tcode LM00, on a laptop or desktop computer, there are no performance issues. When we login to tcode LM00, with the RF scanners, the system is very slow. It might take 30 seconds to confirm one item on a WM Transfer Order.
1.) Can we revert back to Web SAP Console, after we have upgraded to EHP5?
2.) What is creating the performance issues with the RF Scanners now that we switched over to SAP ITS mobile?
Our RF Scanners are made by Intermec, but I donu2019t think that is where the solution lies. One person in our IT Operations has spent a good deal of time configuring SAPITS to get it to work, but still it isnu2019t performing.Tom,
I am sorry I did not see this earlier.
I'm currently working on a very similar project with ITS mobile and the problem is to accurately determine the root cause of the problem in the least amount of time. The tool that works is found here: http://www.connectrf.com/index.php/mcm/managed-diagnostics/
Isolating the network from the application and the device is a time consuming process unless you have a piece of software that can trace the HTTP transaction between host and device on both wired and wireless side of the network. Once that is achieved (as with Connect's tool) you can then you can begin to solve the problem.
What I found in my project is that the amount of data traffic generated by ITS mobile can be reduced drastically, which speeds the response time of the mobile devices, especially with large number of devices in distribution centers.
Let me know if I can answer more questions related to this topic.
Cheers,
Shari
