Issue with Oracle Merge statements (PL/SQL: ORA-00913: too many values)

I am using the below merge statement and I am getting too many rows issues when I am compiling.

Insert ORA-00913: too many values -- urgent help

Its pretty urgent, got stuck up....
To avoid the undo snapshot error, I am using this procedure to migrate the smaller chunks of huge volume of table data into new tables. This below code works well if the columns are very less. And this procedure is not working if the tables columns are morethan 30 columns and throwing the error   PL/SQL: ORA-00913: too many values

Above table i.e tranproc has around 80 columns .
i am not pl/sql expert, kindly advise how to resolve it.. i am fine with alternative approach, just i need a smaller chunk commit.

Actually, Direct Path does not necessarily require NOLOGGING. If you successfully invoke Direct Path (look for LOAD AS SELECT or DIRECT LOAD INTO in the execution plan) then you are inserting into blocks above the high-water mark (HWM) and there is virtually no UNDO generated for the changes in the table segment.
However, the index maintenance (if any) will require UNDO, and it may be a lot. If this is going into a new table, then you should be able to create the index after the table is populated.
Also beware of the NOLOGGING advice. In many cases, an individual SQL statement can not disable logging. And yet, if you do bypass REDO logging, be very sure you understand the consequences for your ability to recover.

JDBC receiver error - ORA-00913: too many values

Hi all,
Facing a strange issue with proxy-jdbc issue.
Message fails with error - ORA-00913: too many values
Handling the missing fields from the source with - Empty String in the comm. Channel
Empty string handling works fine - whenever there is no value coming form souce, null is inserted into the field value on the DB.
Trying to insert the same data manually, it works fine. But gives this error END2END.
When testing END2END, if the field values are made couple of chars less in length, that works fine....fails with the actual data.....seems to be the issue with the field lenghts on the DB.
Increased all the lengths by 10 chars..still does not work.
Except the key fields of the DB table, all others are nullable.
Is there anything else, I am missing...
Note: Generally, ORA-00913: too many values comes when the number of fields and the number of values donot match in an INSERT/UPDATE statement.

Well the error you mention generally occurs when the insert statement has more fields mention than in the table .ie you are mentioning extra field .aur this error is due to the field lenght of any of the filed you had to check in the oracle itself by using the command DESCRIBE there you ll be able to see the field lenght of each and every field .

ORA-00913: too many values - how to change decimal separator?

I want to use SQL Developer's database export and need advice how to tweak the decimal separator from , to . in the sql-inserts created.
Preferrably in SQL Developer, because this error can be easily happen and is hard to catch during import.+

Hi When I run the both the select statements inlcuding the minus it works,
but when I run the Delete statement it gives me error ORA-00913: too many values

ORA-00913 too many value

I have come across the ORA-00913 ,and the scenario is i have create a new tablespace (reclaim_ts) and a user called(reclaim_user), alse grant create session and create table right on the (recalim_ts ) table.
After creating table(t1) now i want to populate this table with this command

SELECT rownum, RPAD('x', 1000, 'x')
FROM dual
CONNECT BY level <= 10000;
AFTER THIS I GOT THE =ORA-00913 ERROR

Simply count the number of items in your insert and
then in your select. They should be the same.
Insert = 21, select = 23. I'll let you investigate
what is missing extra...tks hehe.

Issue with Oracle LONG RAW data type

I am facing some issues with Oracle LONG RAW DATA Type.
We are using Oracle 9IR2 Database.
I got a table having LONG RAW column and I need to transfer the same into another table having LONG RAW column.
When I tried using INSERT INTO SELECT * command (or) CREATE TABLE as select * , it is throwing ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype.
I have gone through some docs and found we should not use LONG RAW using these operations.
So I did some basic PLSQL block given below and I was able to insert most of the records. But records where the LONG RAW file is like 7O kb, the inserting is faliling.
I tried to convert LONG RAW to BLOB and again for the record where the LONG RAW is big in size I am getting (ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error) error.
Appreciate if anyone can help me out here.

Performance issues with Oracle EE 9.2.0.4 and RedHat 2.1

Hello,
I am having some serious performance issues with Oracle Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.4 and RedHat Linux 2.1. The processor goes berserk at 100% for long (some 5 min.) periods of time, and all the ram memory gets used.
Some environment characteristics:
Machine: Intel Pentium IV 2.0GHz with 1GB of RAM.
OS: RedHat Linux 2.1 Enterprise.
Oracle: Oracle Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.4
Application: We have a small web-application with 10 users (for now) and very basic queries (all in stored procedures). Also we use the latest version of ODP.NET with default connection settings (some low pooling, etc).
Does anyone know what could be going on?
Is anybody else having this similar behavior?
We change from SQL-Server so we are not the world expert on the matter. But we want a reliable system nonetheless.
Please help us out, gives some tips, tricks, or guides

Thank you very much and sorry I couldnt write sooner. It seems that the administrator doesnt see the kswap going on so much, so I dont really know what is going on.
We are looking at some queries and some indexing but this is nuts, if I had some poor queries, which we dont really, the server would show pick right?
But he goes crazy and has two oracle processes taking all the resources. There seems to be little swapping going on.
Son now what? They are all ready talking about MS-SQL please help me out here, this is crazy!!!
We have, may be the most powerful combinations here. What is oracle doing?
We even kill the Working Process of the IIS and have no one do anything with the database and still dose two processes going on.
Can some one help me?

Issues with Oracle in a new location.

I recently had to change the computer name of a Windows 2003 SP2 test server. Among other software installed was Oracle 10g r2. There were issues with Oracle in its new location where it was trying to reference the old computer name.
I assumed that all I would have to do to correct the issue was to search all of Oracle’s .ORA files and replace the old server name with the new one. (Plus, of course, changing the Windows Host file entry).
But I’m finding that Oracle on Windows apparently has many other references to the original computer name. For example, there are subdirectories in the Oracle Home directory tree structure where the directories themselves contain the old computer name. (I’ve attached a screenshot of a file search off the Oracle directory tree for “BRI2KSRV” which is the test server’s old name. “Bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com” was the server’s old fully qualified name. ORCL is/was the default instance name).
For example, these directories were found:

What are the recommended steps when changing the Windows computer name (and thus the fully qualified network references) on a Windows 2003 Server which has a functioning Oracle 10g R2 instance?

These directory you mentioned are EM control directory. You need to reconfigure your EM with new server name.
If you are using server name instead of IP address in listener.ora and tnsnames.ora you need to change these as well.

Facing Issue With Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0

I have following SOA suite installation at my server:
Oracle 10g Express Edition Universal 10.2.0.1
RCU 11.1.1.3.3

The first thing what I have done is created a web service and deployed it to server without any issue.
After that I created proxy client for that service and accessed it successfully from the client end.
Till here no issue occurs.
After that I applied few policies on top of web service and deployed it to server.
The policy I had chosen was “oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy” [coming under OWSM policies list]
While deploying there was no issue, all went well.
2nd step I had created client using “oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy” policy which is counter part of above policy and tried to access the web service but failed.

Not getting any help from any blog. Just wondering why this error is coming. I would be glad if you can help us in this regard.
Apart from above issue I have few queries like:
1.What is difference between OWSM policies and WLS policies?
2.Are these the only policies we can apply on top of services?
3.If some one wants to configure his own custom policies than what need to be done
4.Could anyone please provide some useful links to implement ENCYPTION and SIGNATURE on top of web services?
5.And If I am not wrong, I guess Oracle Service BUS OSB 11.1.1.3 has been removed from the main download link and version 11.1.1.4 has been provided. Is it
compatible with SOA suite 11.1.1.3.0? If not where can I get OSB 11.1.1.3?

I don't know why u get an error. Here are answers for additional questions:
1. OWSM policies are for web services. WLS policies are based on Java EE security. They are used to protect resources e.g. URL, EJB
2. I don't know about other policies
