Issues monitoring the 2602i Cisco AP with Zabbix.

Hi!
My workplace just bought a lot of Cisco AP (2602i) and a WLC 2500 and I'm in deep trouble trying to monitor them with Zabbix, wich is the SW we use for our whole Network.
After a lot of time I got to monitor the CPU use (in %), traffic of each interface, the AP serial number and the AP software version.
I really need to monitor how many clients are connected (associated) to each radio and if the AP mode Flex Connect it is activated or not.
I would really appreciate some help with this, I'm out of ideas!
Thanks you soooo very much!
Some extra info regarding my APs:

Hey Saul,
I didn't really solve my problem.
I managed to monitor some items (connected clients, rogue aps, eth rx total, eth tx total, last reboot reason, lwapp image version, lwapp os version, mac address eth, ap name, power status, ssh enable, shown in the attachment) but those are just regular items and, to be able to monitor them, after each OID I had to write the AP's mac address in decimal format  (which I did using Macro's to make it automatic, taking it from another OID).
Now at this point I have two issues:
First - using this template, which I applied one per AP host referring to the WLC IP address, makes my Zabbix Queue and Zabbix busy unreachable poller processes go up to the sky, which is no good at all and that's why I'm still working on how to fix this (maybe changing the way I monitor de APs at all).
Second - I still couldn't monitor important stuff regarding reach radio (for example), since all my APs have two radios and I find it interesting to monitor which channel are they at. The issue with this is (after a little internet research) that Zabbix allows me to use a Discovery Rule with only one variable field, in this case, the AP's mac address. It wouldn't allow me to double the Discovery Rule.
Let me be more explicit regarding this second issue with an example.
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21 is the OID where I can find info regarding the radio channel.
208.199.137.14.211.112 is my AP's mac
0 or 1 indicates which radio I'm talking about (also dynamic as you see).
So to get that info it would be something like (and its response):
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21.208.199.137.14.211.112.0 =  STRING: "This is a 802.11b/g interface, slot ID is 0"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21.208.199.137.14.211.112.1 =  STRING: "This is a 802.11a interface, slot ID is 1"
So as you see, I have to variable fields, the AP's mac and the radio index (0 or 1).
I would really love to monitor it with the help of a discovery rule, a double one which doesn't exist.
Of course you can do it manually, for each of your AP's radios and for each of your APs but, in my network scenario, we have more than two or three APs so it makes this impossible and poorly efficient.
I'm sorry for not having the answers and I really hope this helps you.
Cheers!
Yael

  • An issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4

    We are having an issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4.  We used to have SAP 4.6c and now we have 5.0.  When we were on 4.6c, we used these COM components to logon and execute RFC calls and we had much success.  Now that we are on 5.0, we can’t seem to instance any SAP functions that have something to do with SAP Workflow.  We have experienced this problem when using VB6 or .NET, but our existing code that always worked is in VB 6.0.
    SAP Components used:
    o     SAP Logon Control
    o     SAP Function Control
    o     Librfc32.dll
    o     Other supporting C DLLs and/or COM object supplied with the SAP GUI installation.
    For example, if we want to call the RFC ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, this code fails in VB6 when the “Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)” line of code executes.  Instead of returning an instance of the object ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT function, no object is created.  In 6.2, SAP raises no errors, but the object we are trying to create is still “Nothing”.  If we use 6.4, SAP raises an error “SAP data type not supported” via a message box and then the object is still = Nothing.  Interestingly enough, the 6.2 GUI COM controls don’t display the error dialog.  The message box that is shown comes from the SAP Function COM Object "SAP.Functions" (wdtfuncs.ocx).
    Now, what is interesting is if we use the same code to call a standard function or custom function that doesn’t have anything to do with SAP Workflow, then the code works fine.  Again, all of our code used to work just fine on an SAP 4.6 system.
    Here is the code that fails:
        'SAP Logon control - object for creating connections to an SAP system
        Dim objSAPLogonCtrl As Object
        'SAP connection object
        Dim objConnection As Object
        'Object that will represent the SAP function called
        Dim objSAP As Object
        'SAP function control object - object factory for creating other SAP function objects
        Dim objFuncCtrl As Object
        'Create instance of an SAP logon conrol
        Set objSAPLogonCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Logoncontrol.1")
        'Create a connection object
        Set objConnection = objSAPLogonCtrl.NewConnection
        'Define connecion parameters
        objConnection.ApplicationServer = "sapvm"
        objConnection.SystemNumber = "00"
        objConnection.Client = "800"
        objConnection.User = "iissap"
        objConnection.Password = "tstadm"
        objConnection.Language = "E"
        objConnection.TraceLevel = 10
        'call the logon method of the connection object
        If objConnection.Logon(0, True) = False Then
            MsgBox Error
            Exit Sub
        End If
        'Create an instance of the SAP Function control object
        Set objFuncCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
        'Set the function control connection object
        Set objFuncCtrl.Connection = objConnection
        'Function name to be generated and called
        Dim strFunction As String
        strFunction = <b>"ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT"</b>
        'Create an instance of the function defined in strFunction
        Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)
        If objworkflow Is Nothing Then
            MsgBox "Could not create object " & strFunction
        Else
            MsgBox strFunction & " object created."
        End If
    If anyone has seen anything like this or has any ideas, please help!

  • How do I monitor the Band-width usage with my RV 120W?

    We are having an issue with accessing our SharePoint Sites over the Web and Microsoft Technicain wants us to capture band with usage. I am trying to findout if that is possible with the RV 120W. I have looked at the documentation and cannot find any info on doing this type of analysis.

    Hi Don,
    Thanks for posting. I don't recall a way to monitor bandwidth with the RV120W other than Status ->Port Statistics.

    Ted,
    When I connect to the Derby database in Eclipse using the embedded driver, I can successfully drag and drop tables to create a report. This driver uses the derby.jar file and has no package sealing violations popping up.
    <br/>
    <br/>
    When specifying a driver for a new derby database in Eclipse, the default Derby client driver expects to use the derbyclient.jar driver file. If I only specify this as the driver file this is the error I get:

    The error I initially posted resulted after I added the derby.jar as a driver file in addition to the derbyclient.jar, which I don't think is supposed to be done now that I am thinking about it, but I did it because of the class not found exception above. Is this perhaps simply a bug that it is trying to utilize the derby.jar embedded driver when the client driver should be used instead? Or am I doing something wrong myself?

  • Tabbed Panel issue. The tabs scroll together with the content.

    Hi,
    The idea is to "block" the tabs above, so the visitor, when scrolling a content, he can still see ALWAYS the tabs in the top, so he can change to the other tabs quickly. WIth other tabbed panels I didn't have this problem. The explorers have to do here? Mozilla, Opera?
    I use safari. DW CS5.
    If more info from me is needed please,l et me know. Help appreciated.
    I uploaded the video to Metacafe.com. I saw this video site reliable and appareantly is pretty faster to download video.
    Thx in advance for your help.
    The video of the problem is shown in the following link:
    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/6107040/tabbed_panels_issue_in_dw_cs5/

    Add/modify the following to your document

  • Known issues for OBIEE Office Add in with Excel 2007?

    Hi,
    Does anybody know if there are issues for the office add-in with Office 2007?
    i'm playing around a little bit to see how it works, but it seems that Excel interferes with the layout.
    I do get different grafs and also i tried the tutorial with the excel template and my changes come only partly through.
    Thanks
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,
    Were you able to use OBIEE Office Add in with Excel 2007? I am planning to look at this compatibility. I am looking here to seeif anyone found issues with this setup..
    Thanks,

  • Having trouble browsing the internet at home with my MacBook

    I have been having issues browsing the web from home with my MacBook. When I try to go to pretty much any web site (Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, etc) the page starts loading and makes minimal progress before it stalls and I'm staring at a blank white browser window. The page will eventually load after about 3-4 minutes but only partially.
    I have a Belkin N+ router (model F5D8235-4 v2) and a fiber optic internet service. My sister and my brother-in-law are able to access any and all sites quickly and completely. She has a MacBook Pro and he has a Dell Inspiron (so it doesn't seem to be a Mac vs Windows issue). We have tried changing the router password type from WEP to WPA. I've tried to hardwire into my router with no success. I have cleared my entire cache, history, and cookies - still no change. I have also not had any success with using a different browser.
    I have no issues when I'm using my Mac at work (on a T1 line with an Ethernet cable) or at my mother's house (Netgear ADSL2+ wireless router). I'm curious as to what I can do to fix this. My Mac friends at work and my systems analyst/programmer dad are all as confused as I am. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

    The Learning Center uses Flash. My guess is that you probably installed the PowerPC Flash plugin and replaced the Universal plugin that ships with the Intel-based Macs.
    To restore the Universal version of the plugin, go to http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=2dda3d81 and download the preview release.

  • Issue of the components to the production

    Hi,
    There is situation to issue the componnets of 500-600 to the production through syatem against single Finish Product,
    Production person create requisition with the components and sent to stores,store person manually issue the components against the availability.
    which takes lot of time,
    Whetehr there is user friendly transactions for such issue?
    Whether it is possible to issue the child parts by selectong only FG code? and issue of the child parts?
    With Regards,
    Devendra

    Hi
    You can do back flash for the FG's BOM component ( Check MRP3 view Backflash indicator marked ) while confirmation posting in CO11N
    You can also perform Pick List in CO27 or COHV
    If its REM and Discrete  , then use MF50 /MF65 for GI
    You can also develop a custom transaction in back ground program using BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE with the movement type=261 where program will  select
    all the materials (RESB-MATNR), Item No. of Reservation (RESB-RSPOS), BOM Item (RESB-POSNR)
    from RESB where movement type (RESB-BWART) and  trigger Auto Goods Issue for Child item

  • Monitoring the Cisco ACE module with SNMP

    We use 2 redundant Cisco ACE loadbalancer in our datacenter
    The models are ACE20-MOD-K9 with software A2(2.0)
    Does anybod know how to monitor the environment (cpu, memory) of such a module with snmp?
    We were not able to find an applicable MIB for that module.
    The CISCO-PROCESS-MIB.oid (ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/oid/CISCO-PROCESS-MIB.oid) seems not to reflect the correct oid's.
    What are the correct oid's for cpu and memory?
    Where can I find a detailed documentation for snmp-monitoring the cisco ace module?

    Hi Patrik,
    to monitor the ACE I use these two MIB's:

  • The 'Monitor Size' setting could do with an update

    This isn't the most important issue in the world, but I did notice that the 'Monitor Size' setting in Frame 11 (Edit > Preferences > Global > General > Monitor Size) hasn't changed for years.
    It's used so that when you have your screen set to 100% zoom, it matches the real paper world in size.
    But - it just has a drop-down for 'diagonal width" monitor size which assumes a 4:3 aspect ratio (as per old CRT monitors) and only goes up to 22".  I'm currently typing on a 23" 'widescreen' (16:9) monitor so I don't think that diagonal width drop-down is going to do much useful for me

    I presume this setting wasn't fixed in FM12, and still assumes a quaint single-screen 4:3 aspect ratio.
    Back when computers were slower, and I was doing a lot of work with relatively high res TIFFs, I figured out that if I set Monitor Size and zoom levels carefully, I could get specific zoom levels to render raster images at exact integer multiples or fractions of the video card's frame buffer raster dimensions. I found that this made a huge difference in display & refresh performance. At 1:1, doing so apparently eliminated resampling of the image data entirely. At integer 1:N or N:1, it apparently minimized the computation required, and minimized artifacts.
    This sort of consideration is less important today, but it would be nice to get the parameter fixed, or at least publish a FAQ on how to game the 4:3 assumption for 16:9, 16:10 and 21:9 monitors, as well as arbitrary multi-monitor configurations.

    Please check with new version of TFTPD 32 server. The error may be due to older version of TFPT server, the new version available solved this error. Files are getting uploaded with no issues.
    1. Download tftpd32b.zip from:
    http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html
    2. Copy the tftpd32b.zip file into an empty directory and extract it.
    3. Copy the file you want to transver into the directory containing tftpd32.exe.
    4. Run tftpd32.exe from that directory. The "Base Directory" field should show the path to the directory containing the file you want to transfer.
    At this point, the tftpserver is ready to begin serving files. As devices request files, the main tftpd32 window will log the requests.

    I know many have this issue but i can't find a solution to the problem. i get message saying insuffisiant disk space in the volume iPhoto library and i have plenty of space available. i have the new macbook pro with retina display. i have never seen this message before and i have 2 other macbooks and have had many other also. i am assuming this is a problem with the new macbook retina. does anyone know the exact fix to this issue? i have seen many sugestions to try to fix this issue but none have solved the issue for anyone that i can find in the Apple Support Community. thank for looking into this in advance.
    ******A true apple fan********

    Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

  • The Software that came with my book does not work. CISCO CCENT / CCNA ICND1 by wendell odom

    Hello this is my first post on cisco support and hope I can get some help. I recently purchased the book CISCO CCENT / CCNA ICND1 by wendell odom and when I used the CD to install the Pearson Practice exams, it does not work. I tried everything! It even asks for a activation code, which on the CD It says "Refer to the Activation Code Included in the DVD Sleeve when Registering Pearson IT Certification Practice Test Software"I don't see anything related to a Activation Code anywhere on the CD OR on the sleeve! So now I can't use that.
               The Network simulator Wendell odom uses in his videos is already outdated it seems and I can't get mine to work. Why? Because I bought this book in hopes of this being a beginner book and praying the person won't skip information to actually set up the book. So now the videos are useless because I can't connect because I have no idea how...
              The Network Simulator lite, wow 3/3 When giving me software to use. The Prompt command does not work, Only the enter key will work but when I try to put in a password I can't hit anything else but enter.
                 I hope I can get help from a more official member as to seeing how I bought this book and I can read but whats really the point if I don't have the hands on training?

    Keunepete,
    When I ordered my books for the ICND1 and ICND2, they came with a CD in the back pocket (sleeve) of the book. Along with the CD was a thick piece of paper that had the activation code on it. It was a white, square piece of paper with big black print on it. Did you buy your book used? Was the CD sealed in the back pocket?

    My iPhone says that my charger is not supported, but it's the charger that came with my phone. Is there any way I can solve this issue?

    Try cleaning out the phone's port, of pocket fluff and such. Carefully. And check the mains adapter similarly, but less likely.
