Issues with ADL crashing with mouselock
I'm using the latest version of the Flex SDK downloaded form the Adobe Gaming site.
I've added the SDK to my build list and the IDE is recommending the AIR 3.3 / Flash 11.3 exclusive commands just fine.
However, if I include the "stage.mouseLock" call in a project I get the following error during debug:
Main Thread (Suspended: ReferenceError: Error #1056: Cannot create property mouseLock on flash.display.Stage.)
I have the Air 3.3 runtime Beta installed as well and have confirmed the instance of the ADL is the one found in my latest SDK file
I'm on Mac using an up to date copy of Flexbuilder 4.6
Any help would be awesome.
UPDATE:
I added to following line to my compiler instructions and it seemed to fix the issue:
-locale en_US -swf-version=15

ADL crashing with AIR 3.1 overlay
Hello, I have stumbled upon a very strange issue. I've been developing an application with the AIR 3.1 overlay for a while now without any problems.
Suddenly, this morning, Flash stopped compiling my Air app. ADL is crashing every time it launches. I know "suddenly" doesn't say much but that's pretty much what happened. The strange thing is that this has nothing to do with the application I am developing. Restarting my computer, opening flash, creating a new project with the AIR template and compiling (with the project empty) still crashes the ADL.
The only thing that changed from yesterday to today is that last night I tried as a proof of concept to compile an iOS application from an old app I had, using the iOS packager in Flash CS5.5, I was able to successfully install it on my iPad and everything and I closed flash after that. This morning, nothing would compile.
I reverted AIR 3.0 to my backup of 2.6 (the one that installs with Flash) and things started compiling again. It behaves normally after doing that. I thought my SDK got corrupted somehow so I downloaded a new one from the website (here: http://www.adobe.com/products/air/sdk/) and did the overlay again, and after that it started crashing again.
Another thing is that ADL doesn't crash ONLY when AIR 2.6 is selected. Again, I created a new empty project and chose AIR 2.5. ADL crashes when testing the movie, I chose AIR 2.6, AIR for iOS and AIR for Android and it crashes every time. Reverting back to the original SDK (2.6) stops the crashing in all versions.
Is there a way I can get a crash log from ADL and post it here so we can dig more into the problem?
Thanks,
Fernando ToledoUpdating the post to mention how I solved it.
Kudos to Marty Pitt for finding the answer: http://stackoverflow.com/a/7909697/1098905
So, this is still a bit embarrassing for the Flash IDE. I don't know how this can get so damn corrupted but anyway. Turns out that flashbug (the firebug add on to the firefox extension) is what caused all of this. When flashbug is installed, a line is added to the mm.cfg config file of the flash player.
This file is located on a Mac in: Library/Application Support/Macromedia/mm.cfg (note this is not the user's library, is the top level Library on Macintosh HD). I don't know where this file resides on windows. The line Flashbug adds is:
PreloadSWF=/Users/martypitt/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/vxtpdg3i.default/extensions/[email protected]/chrome/content/flashfirebug/flashfirebug.swf
When I was testing my iOS app (exporting from FLASH) I was getting a VERY strange runtime error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference
at com.coursevector.flashbug::Profiler/allCompleteHandler()
Obviously I wasn't using this class so this was very very strange to me. I researched a bit and found out that there is a known bug with Flashbug: http://code.google.com/p/flashbug/issues/detail?id=32
I completely uninstalled flashbug from Firefox and that's where thing started to crash. When I found the stackoverflow post linked above I was able to find that the line was partially still there, it was like this:
PreloadSWF=
But without any parameter so ADL was crashing inexplicably every time because it probably didn't know how to parse this mm.cfg file. I deleted the line and now it works again. Don't know how the whole player debug process can break from a third party extension but this is aweful. -
Since I've installed Mountain Lion, I am having lock up issues with multiple programs. MS Outlook has crashed and I've lost all my folders. HELP?
okay I've finally been able to get tor and all the other programs to work according to my plan the only thing that's still making problems is that iptables doesn't work as I want it to, when I start chromium without proxy settings privoxy doesn't seem to forward the information to polipo.. do I need to add another rule to iptables.rules in order for the program to know it has to reroute the information again or how can I get this to work? and is there any way to run rtorrent with proxy support?
anyway, problem 2 and 3 are still to be solved.
and does anybody know where i can get a good dansguardian blacklist that was not designed for 6 year old children and for which I don't need to subscribe? I'm still getting these partypoker popups -.-
//e: with iptables it's the same thing as described in the first post. https works, http doesnt. I get the output "Invalid header received from client." on http sites. still no idea why though.. (and the https-version of torcheck.xenubite says i'm tor unprotected while starting the browser with iptables)

We run an iMac 3.4 GHz I7 in our church worship service; we have front screens and a stage display monitor ; we haven't upgraded to Mavericks because we heard about issues with multiple screens crashing. Has this issue been resolved? Now that we are 2 upgrades behind, I'm getting little concerned. Thank you!
Oh, well that was a whole other kettle of fish:
Oh the G4 I attempted to install iLife '08 before Lepoard was available. About the only thing that installed cleanly was iPhoto. I ended up reinstalling everything back to iLife '06, and then upgrading back to the current stable version of the iLife '06 version. I didn't attempt a reinstall until after I upgraded to Leopard.
When I did reinstall, I made a iLife '06 folder, copied all iLife apps into it, and upgraded. Seemed to work, except for the part where iMovie gets left behind and iDVD is only mostly functional.
When I installed on the other 2 machines, it was after installing Leopard and all upgrades. On those 2 machines, I didn't bother with the copy, I just moved everything to the iLife '06 folder I created, and did a fresh install.
I didn't have to do anything with the iPhoto Libraries, that I can recall.
I always do an upgrade, never an archive and install. I've never had a problem with this back to 10.1 or 10.2. -
Hi Guys
I am having some real issues with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) at the moment. It appears that I am unable to encode an h.264 for Vimeo from a Premiere Pro Project file at the moment without at least some weird image issues that are not supposed to be there. These include weird flickering, colour changes, artefacts etc. This is if I am lucky...often I am unable to get the process to complete as the application either crashes and tells me there has been a problem or it simply freezes and I have to force quit the application and often restart my machine.
The problem seems to not to just be with h.264 for the web encodes but also with BluRay h.264 as well. As yet I haven't seen if there is a problem with MPEG-2 for DVD so I will check this out too!
Does anyone else see this happening or does anyone know what might be the problem?
I thought the Premiere Pro project might have been corrupt so tried a different project but the same issues were happening here too.
Any help would be really gratefully received.
Cheers
EDIT - I have just found this online which is exactly the problem I am having! Thanks a bloody bunch Apple! 10.9.3 causing headaches for Mac Pro users | MacIssues
Message was edited by: Alex CameronAgreed, I now have a project to GET OUT, and AME crashes consistently 1/3 into the render. It appears to halt all processing after (real time) 00:02:30
Am seriously considering uninstalling CC as I am beginning to find other issues in some apps, and going back to CS6/MC just so I can get work out. Durn it Adobe this is AWFUL!!
Alright, let's try to be constructive instead of throwing rocks... but the frustration level is high, and I have material on deadline. Let's get with this, guys...
What OS Win7, 64-bit
What version of AME/PPro (Please be specific by getting the full version number in the About Adobe Media Encoder screen) 8.2.0.54 Ppro: 8.2.0 (65)
When is it crashing (Again, the more detail here about where it was in the encoding process the better) roughly 1/3 into the sequence, always on exactly the same frame - tried replacing the clip with something different to see if it was a timeline error, and NO EFFECT.
What is your source (PPro project or media file (what kind?)) PPro
If the source if a PPro project, does it work when exporting directly from PPro? NO
What format are you exporting to? H.264, QT, WM, tried everything my client can play.
Do other formats work? MPEG2, QuickTime, etc? NO
Have you tried with GPU rendering on? How about turning it off by switching to Software-only mode? Mine doesn't have any choice, it's software-only.
Have you tried disabling Native Sequence Loading? (AME Preferences: General > Enable Native Sequence Loading) No effect
Other things I tried: uninstalling/reinstalling AME, setting cache to a fast local disk. -
Major issues with my iMac- crashes and errors
In the past 2 weeks I have had multiple issues with my computer. 3 times the OS has crashed- twice I had to pull the plug to get it to do anything. I can't open Photoshop. I can't print. Adobe Bridge keeps crashing. I have to turn Airport off/on about once an hour because the internet stops working. This is my first Mac and I've had it about a year and a half, so I don't know a lot about the system. Most of my work is stored on an external hard drive and I have 292.32 GB available. I am looking for suggestions to get running normally agian because I really can't lose several days of working by taking this to an Apple store (45 minutes away). Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
It's good to hear that repairing permissions helped resolve the issue. Your Mac logs a lot of data about how the system is performing. Of particular interest is the CrashReporter logs that can be viewed by launching the 'console' application which can be found in the applications/utilities folder. In the left column you can open up the ~/Library/Logs where you will see then see the CrashReporter log. Open it up and you will probably find a number of crash reporter entries which may yield clues. It may be necessary to provide more details from the logs and let some of the expert users provide suggestions. You may find that some of your software is not up to date.
This CNET article provides an overview of the Crash Reporter:

Anyone else having issues with Lightroom 4 crashing constantly?
I'm having an issue with Lightroom 4 crashing constantly. It happens with 4.3 and 4.4 (I was hoping the upgrade to 4.4 would fix the problem but no...) I'm running Windows 8, 16 GbRAM an AMD FX-8120 processor (not sure if that helps or not) an NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 Graphics card. Not sure if any other info would help. I've tried deleting/moving the preferences file, creating a new catalogue and all the usual fixes I could think of but to no avail. There doesn't seem to be any particular trigger. I could be in the develop module or the Library Module. It just either gives me the blue screen (sometimes with the error "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED which is a somewhat disturbing but unhelpful error) and reboots itself or the screen just goes blank and I have to manually reboot it. I am totally hamstrung without Lightroom and I have clients waiting for their photos. I am at a total loss.. Can someone please help?!?!?!
Sadly my research since having the problem agrees that the AMD FX are not good for what I am doing which thoroughly annoys me as it was recommended by so called professionals when the build was done in Nov last year. These so called professionals also failed to see the need for cooling fans in the box which I believe is definitely contributing to the problem especially when the temp in NZ gets up to 30 deg C I am definitely looking at getting some fans in there ASAP as well. Thanks for the confirmations of the inadequacy of the proc and the heat issues.

Crash issues with elements organizer while running Apple OS 10.9 Mavericks
Crash issues with elements organizer while running Apple OS 10.9 Mavericks. Crashes then ask if you want to reopen or not. Also when you are trying to manuver the page with your mouse things go crazy from a full page edit back to viewing all photos on the site and skipping around from picture to picture. Unsusable as it is today!
It is very critical to delete all preferences when you do a major OS X upgrade. You need to go to your username>library>preferences and delete everything pertaining to PSE. To see that library in 10.9, open a finder window, click your user account in the list on the left (the little house with your name), and then click the gear wheel at the top of the window and choose View Options. At the bottom of the list of checkboxes you'll see Library. Turn it on and then you can easily find the preferences folder.

I recently upgraded to FF5 on a windows7 laptop. I havent had any previous issues with system crashes. But within HOURS of installing, my whole OS crashed, and after about an hour of "cannot start windows" the laptop "repaired" itself, wiping all data and a user. I reinstalled, and it crashed again. I want to go back to version 3.16, as I had no issues with that version.
god, i love it when i find answers to my own questions! here is a work-around, not really a fix because you have to run this daemon that constantly performs read operations to prevent the drive from going into low power mode - which seems to be the source of this problem. caution: this will drain your battery if you leave computer awake while not plugged in, but this solution darn well beats the issues i was having before with spinning beachball every couple minutes.. i was going crazy! it only eats about 2-3% of cpu usage and i have not had the problem since i installed this daemon which sits in Library\LaunchDaemons (if you want to remove it later.) also the developer leaves his email in the install file and he is very helpful.
here is a link to the crucial thread where i found this solution:

Are there known issues with App Store crashing on iPad?
Are there known issues with App Store crashing when trying to update apps on iPad 2 with ios6?
Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

Since the previous computer crashed without my Adobe CS3 Design Standard for Macintosh applications being uninstalled, I'm having issues with the CS3 on my new Macintosh laptop. Please help, I've tried using the online "contact us" with no success, unable to get in contact with a tech support agent that can assist me.
CS3 is too old to run on a new Macintosh laptop, sorry. You'll have to purchase CS6 or a Creative Cloud subscription.

Is anyone else having an issue with Muse 2014.2 Freezing/Crashing at launch? It worked perfectly up until tonight and nothing has changed on my computer. I'm running windows 8.1. I've tried logging in and out of CC, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Muse twice with no change. Please advise. Thanks!
Are you getting any error when Muse crashes? what's the one function it lets you do before it freezes?

Having issues with low memory that is causing some of my apps to crash, need help please !!!
Is the device actually showing low memory errors?
What is really occurring?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried? -
A lot of times I would have to reset Safari while I do this and then it might work afterwards, I just find it annoying and time consuming, sometimes I might have to reboot my machine as well. Not sure whether it's an OS issue or an issue with Word that the system doesn't like word too much. I get the spinning ball and I have to do a hard force quit using my keyboard in order to stop the browser when it stops responding, then go ahead and reset safari like I stated previously.
I have tried Opera, which is somewhat better but it crashes if I have to look for the file within the system like with Safari, it will by default look on the desktop, if I try to change it to documents for example that's when it can go crazy, with Opera it will by default open in documents but say if I wanted to change it to desktop to look for the file, it can go loopy. Looks like it either the browser or OS doesn't like changing different folders to upload files.
How's Firefox on a Mac? is it better than on Windows? -

Should I need to increase -XX:MaxClassBlockMemory to 75M. If so, how should I do it, I am unaware of how I can set the values? My Planning server has 136GB Ram and 18 Cores.
Thanks,
hyperionEPMThe issue was related to the heap size being too much and as a result the Class block memory was not getting enough memory. I think we can make a use of -XXCompressedRefs:32 parameter in the Java start up to allow the heap size to increase till 32 Gb.

Issues with restarting after a program crash- please help
Two questions regarding restarting after a program has crashed on Leopard.
1. I had an issue where Parallels crashed and I had to restart. When restarting, the dock closes and it goes to a point where there is a circle timer. This does not stop and an error comes up stating that I need to hit the power button. Is this "normal" after a program crash and restarting? On a side note, I couldn't close the program with Force Quit. This seems to be happening often.
2. How often does it occur for you where a program will not close with Force Quit? I've had Parallels crash and some other programs. When this happens, Force Quit doesn't do anything. Any other options?
Thanks for your help. You should check your startup drive as a starting point, if programs are crashing regularly. That's obviously not "normal." Run +Repair Disk Permissions+ in Disk Utility while started up normally. Then, start up from another disc and run Disk Utility to use the +Repair Disk+ on the startup drive, to look for disk directory issues (you can startup from the Mac OS X installation disc to run Disk Utility).
When this happens, Force Quit doesn't do anything. Any other options?
You can start the Activity Monitor program and quit processes that look relevant to the app. Sometimes, force quit does not work to quit an app because an underlying process keeps running. Sometimes, the Mac is not able to restart or shutdown normally because an app refuses to quit, due to this problem. It is often difficult to know if you should kill a process, so after doing it to make an app quit, it would be a good idea to restart.
