Issues with applying Team Template to a Project

Hi All, thanks in advance for your help,
When I attach a Team Template to the Project, though no error is showing (except a confirmation page stating that a workflow process is running), i am not able to see it in the Project home notifications nor in the Scheduled People under Resources.
Appreciate any help to resolve this
Regards,
MM

Have you run the PA: Apply Team Template workflow process? This will trigger the application and notification, not actually performing the step you noted below.

  • Issue with Apply A Template

    Hi -
    I have a template called index.dwt created for my site, below is the top code from the template.  I've created a new file called index.html and tried to apply index.dwt but somehow it's applying old code not in the template anymore.  I've removed any file that have that old code listed below, so I have no idea how the template is applying the old code that from what I can tell doesn't exist in a file anymore anywhere in site.  It almost seems like it's cached because I did a preview of the site in chrome but I've restarted my desktop and it still populates the old code.
    Template code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML>
    <html>
    <head>
                        <script src="../js/jquery1.js" type="text/javascript" ></script>
    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
    <title>Traditional Karate Promotional Fund</title>
    <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
                        <link href="../css/styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen">
                        <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:400italic,400,300,600,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
    <script type="text/javascript">
                        $(document).ready(function() {
                                  $('#slider').s3Slider({
                                            timeOut: 4000
              </script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="../js/slider.js"></script>
    <link href="../css/slider.css" rel="stylesheet" type="test/css" media="screen">
    </head>
    When I try to apply the template to a blank html page in the side, this is what gets applyied:

  • WAAS issue with NIC teaming

    Hi,
    Can someone tell me what has the NIC teaming effect on WAAS.
    I was preparing a demo for one of my client but before this they were using another popular WAAS product. According to my client, they had a big network issue with NIC teaming, i.e one ip and 2 mac addresses with server loadsharing.
    scenario.
    Before the demo i just wanted to confirm that WAAS has nothing to do with the above mentioned problem...can anybody confirm...

    Hmm... Still not quite sure what your saying. It sounds like by coincidence the other accelerator box got the same IP as one of their servers. They should have been able to fix that quite simple, not to mention test for it by doing the equivalent of "show int" on the box before plugging it in.
    Or possibly they had some type of proxy arp configured wrong?
    Either way we're running WAAS boxes on our networks that have teaming of NIC's via HP's teaming utility using "Transmit load balancing" on the servers. The WAAS boxes are configured for ether-channeling their NIC's and using WCCP for traffic redirection.
    Actually, if you did them using WCCP rather than inline, there definitely shouldn't be a MAC conflict since the WAAS boxes will be on a different subnet at that point. No chance of a problem like that with Layer-3 separation...

  • RDP Users seeing display issues with SharePoint Online Template

    I originally posted this in the SharePoint Online forums, but they referred me to the RDP forums as it appears to be an issue with RDP, not SharePoint Online: Original
    Post
    I've been able to verify this only happens in RDP when opening a Word Template with embedded Excel table  from SharePoint Online within the local Word 2010 application.

    Amy,
    Thank you for the input.  Its rather odd, but it appears the users who are seeing this problem are connecting via RDP on laptops with widescreens, with screen resolution set much higher than the 1290x1084 we use on the terminal servers.  Turning
    the resolution down on the laptops did keep the table from becoming oversized and most of it running off edge of document.
    However, it appears even turning down the resolution of the client machine still affects how the font is displayed in the document. The font size and type are different than the template document, they get saved that way and appear that way to other users
    who do have their screen resolution set correctly.   It seems there is something else going on here, thoughts?

  • VMQ issues with NIC Teaming

    Hi All
    Apologies if this is a long one but I thought the more information I can provide the better.
    We have recently designed and built a new Hyper-V environment for a client, utilising Windows Server R2 / System Centre 2012 R2 however since putting it into production, we are now seeing problems with Virtual Machine Queues. These manifest themselves as
    either very high latency inside virtual machines (we’re talking 200 – 400 mSec round trip times), packet loss or complete connectivity loss for VMs. Not all VMs are affected however the problem does manifest itself on all hosts. I am aware of these issues
    having cropped up in the past with Broadcom NICs.
    I'll give you a little bit of background into the problem...
    Frist, the environment is based entirely on Dell hardware (Equallogic Storage, PowerConnect Switching and PE R720 VM Hosts). this environment was based on Server 2012 and a decision was taken to bring this up to speed to R2. This was due to a number
    of quite compelling reasons, mainly surrounding reliability. The core virtualisation infrastructure consists of four VM hosts in a Hyper-V Cluster.
    Prior to the redesign, each VM host had 12 NICs installed:
    Quad port on-board Broadcom 5720 daughter card: Two NICs assigned to a host management team whilst the other two NICs in the same adapter formed a Live Migration / Cluster heartbeat team, to which a VM switch was connected with two vNICs exposed to the
    management OS. Latest drivers and firmware installed. The Converged Fabric team here was configured in LACP Address Hash (Min Queues mode), each NIC having the same two processor cores assigned. The management team is identically configured.
    Two additional Intel i350 quad port NICs: 4 NICs teamed for the production VM Switch uplink and 4 for iSCSI MPIO. Latest drivers and firmware. The VM Switch team spans both physical NICs to provide some level of NIC level fault tolerance, whilst the remaining
    4 NICs for ISCSI MPIO are also balanced across the two NICs for the same reasons.
    The initial driver for upgrading was that we were once again seeing issues with VMQ in the old design with the converged fabric design. The two vNics in the management OS for each of these networks were tagged to specific VLANs (that were obviously accessible
    to the same designated NICs in each of the VM hosts).
    In this setup, a similar issue was being experienced to our present issue. Once again, the Converged Fabric vNICs in the Host OS would on occasion, either lose connectivity or exhibit very high round trip times and packet loss. This seemed to correlate with
    a significant increase in bandwidth through the converged fabric, such as when initiating a Live Migration and would then affect both vNICS connectivity. This would cause packet loss / connectivity loss for both the Live Migration and Cluster Heartbeat vNICs
    which in turn would trigger all sorts of horrid goings on in the cluster. If we disabled VMQ on the physical adapters and the team multiplex adapter, the problem went away. Obviously disabling VMQ is something that we really don’t want to resort to.
    So…. The decision to refresh the environment with 2012 R2 across the board (which was also driven by other factors and not just this issue alone) was accelerated.
    In the new environment, we replaced the Quad Port Broadcom 5720 Daughter Cards in the hosts with new Intel i350 QP Daughter cards to keep the NICs identical across the board. The Cluster heartbeat / Live Migration networks now use an SMB Multichannel configuration,
    utilising the same two NICs as in the old design in two isolated untagged port VLANs. This part of the re-design is now working very well (Live Migrations now complete much faster I hasten to add!!)
    However…. The same VMQ issues that we witnessed previously have now arisen on the production VM Switch which is used to uplink the virtual machines on each host to the outside world.
    The Production VM Switch is configured as follows:
    Same configuration as the original infrastructure: 4 Intel 1GbE i350 NICs, two of which are in one physical quad port NIC, whilst the other two are in an identical NIC, directly below it. The remaining 2 ports from each card function as iSCSI MPIO
    interfaces to the SAN. We did this to try and achieve NIC level fault tolerance. The latest Firmware and Drivers have been installed for all hardware (including the NICs) fresh from the latest Dell Server Updates DVD (V14.10).
    In each host, the above 4 VM Switch NICs are formed into a Switch independent, Dynamic team (Sum of Queues mode), each physical NIC has
    RSS disabled and VMQ enabled and the Team Multiplex adapter also has RSS disabled an VMQ enabled. Secondly, each NIC is configured to use a single processor core for VMQ. As this is a Sum of Queues team, cores do not overlap
    and as the host processors have Hyper Threading enabled, only cores (not logical execution units) are assigned to RSS or VMQ. The configuration of the VM Switch NICs looks as follows when running Get-NetAdapterVMQ on the hosts:
    Name                           InterfaceDescription
    Enabled BaseVmqProcessor MaxProcessors NumberOfReceive
    Queues
    VM_SWITCH_ETH01                Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t A...#8 True    0:10             1
    7
    VM_SWITCH_ETH03                Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t A...#7 True    0:14             1
    7
    VM_SWITCH_ETH02                Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t Ada... True    0:12             1
    7
    VM_SWITCH_ETH04                Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t A...#2 True    0:16             1
    7
    Production VM Switch           Microsoft Network Adapter Mult... True    0:0
    28
    Load is hardly an issue on these NICs and a single core seems to have sufficed in the old design, so this was carried forward into the new.
    The loss of connectivity / high latency (200 – 400 mSec as before) only seems to arise when a VM is moved via Live Migration from host to host. If I setup a constant ping to a test candidate VM and move it to another host, I get about 5 dropped pings
    at the point where the remaining memory pages / CPU state are transferred, followed by an dramatic increase in latency once the VM is up and running on the destination host. It seems as though the destination host is struggling to allocate the VM NIC to a
    queue. I can then move the VM back and forth between hosts and the problem may or may not occur again. It is very intermittent. There is always a lengthy pause in VM network connectivity during the live migration process however, longer than I have seen in
    the past (usually only a ping or two are lost, however we are now seeing 5 or more before VM Nework connectivity is restored on the destination host, this being enough to cause a disruption to the workload).
    If we disable VMQ entirely on the VM NICs and VM Switch Team Multiplex adapter on one of the hosts as a test, things behave as expected. A migration completes within the time of a standard TCP timeout.
    VMQ looks to be working, as if I run Get-NetAdapterVMQQueue on one of the hosts, I can see that Queues are being allocated to VM NICs accordingly. I can also see that VM NICs are appearing in Hyper-V manager with “VMQ Active”.
    It goes without saying that we really don’t want to disable VMQ, however given the nature of our clients business, we really cannot afford for these issues to crop up. If I can’t find a resolution here, I will be left with no choice as ironically, we see
    less issues with VMQ disabled compared to it being enabled.
    I hope this is enough information to go on and if you need any more, please do let me know. Any help here would be most appreciated.
    I have gone over the configuration again and again and everything appears to have been configured correctly, however I am struggling with this one.
    Many thanks
    Matt

    Hi Gleb
    I can't seem to attach any images / links until my account has been verified.
    There are a couple of entries in the ndisplatform/Operational log.
    Event ID 7- Querying for OID 4194369794 on TeamNic {C67CA7BE-0B53-4C93-86C4-1716808B2C96} failed. OidBuffer is  failed.  Status = -1073676266
    And
    Event ID 6 - Forwarding of OID 66083 from TeamNic {C67CA7BE-0B53-4C93-86C4-1716808B2C96} due to Member NDISIMPLATFORM\Parameters\Adapters\{A5FDE445-483E-45BB-A3F9-D46DDB0D1749} failed.  Status = -1073741670
    And
    Forwarding of OID 66083 from TeamNic {C67CA7BE-0B53-4C93-86C4-1716808B2C96} due to Member NDISIMPLATFORM\Parameters\Adapters\{207AA8D0-77B3-4129-9301-08D7DBF8540E} failed.  Status = -1073741670
    It would appear as though the two GUIDS in the second and third events correlate with two of the NICs in the VM Switch team (the affected team).
    Under MSLBFO Provider/Operational, there are also quite a few of the following errors:
    Event ID 8 - Failing NBL send on TeamNic 0xffffe00129b79010
    How can I find out what tNIC correlates with "0xffffe00129b79010"
    Without the use of the nice little table that I put together (that I can't upload), the NICs and Teams are configured as follows:
    Production VM Switch Team (x4 Interfaces) - Intel i350 Quad Port NICs. As above, the team itself is balanced across physical cards (two ports from each card). External SCVMM Logical Switch is uplinked to this team. Serves
    as the main VM Switch for all Production Virtual machines. Team Mode is Switch Independent / Dynamic (Sum of Queues). RSS is disabled on all of the physical NICs in this team as well as the Multiplex adapter itself. VMQ configuration is as follows:
    Interface Name          -      BaseVMQProc          -        MaxProcs
    -      VMQ / RSS
    VM_SWITCH_ETH01                  10
         1                           VMQ
    VM_SWITCH_ETH02                  12
        1                           VMQ
    VM_SWITCH_ETH03                  14
       1                           VMQ
    VM_SWITCH_ETH04                  16
        1                           VMQ
    SMB Fabric (x2 Interfaces) - Intel i350 Quad Port on-board daughter card. As above, these two NICs are in separate, VLAN isolated subnets that provide SMB Multichannel transport for Live Migration traffic and CSV Redirect / Cluster
    Heartbeat data. These NICs are not teamed. VMQ is disabled on both of these NICs. Here is the RSS configuration for these interfaces that we have implemented:
    Interface Name          -      BaseVMQProc          -        MaxProcs
      -      VMQ / RSS
    SMB_FABRIC_ETH01                18                                   2
    RSS
    SMB_FABRIC_ETH02                18                                   2
    RSS
    ISCSI SAN (x4 Interfaces) - Intel i350 Quad Port NICs. Once again, no teaming is required here as these serve as our ISCSI SAN interfaces (MPIO enabled) to the hosts. These four interfaces are balanced across two physical cards as per
    the VM Switch team above. No VMQ on these NICS, however RSS is enabled as follows:
    Interface Name          -      BaseVMQProc         -         MaxProcs
       -        VMQ / RSS
    ISCSI_SAN_ETH01                    2                                    2
    RSS
    ISCSI_SAN_ETH02                    6                                    2
    RSS
    ISCSI_SAN_ETH03                    2
    2                            RSS
    ISCSI_SAN_ETH04                    6
    2                            RSS
    Management Team (x2 Interfaces) - The second two interfaces of the Intel i350 Quad Port on-board daughter card. Serves as the Management uplink to the host. As there are some management workloads hosted in this
    cluster, a VM Switch is connected to this team, hence a vNIC is exposed to the Host OS in order to manage the Parent Partition. Teaming mode is Switch Independent / Address Hash (Min Queues). As there is a VM Switch connected to this team, the NICs
    are configured for VMQ, thus RSS has been disabled:
    Interface Name        -         BaseVMQProc        -          MaxProcs
    -         VMQ / RSS
    MAN_SWITCH_ETH01                 22                                  1
    VMQ
    MAN_SWITCH_ETH02                 22                                  1                           VMQ
    We are limited as to the number of physical cores that we can allocate to VMQ and RSS so where possible, we have tried balance NICs over all available cores where practical.
    Hope this helps.
    Any more info required, please ask.
    Kind Regards
    Matt

  • Dynamic Link (Adobe Premiere Pro to Encore) issues with burning a DVD from the project file

    Hello,
    I am running Adobe Suite CS 5.1 on my Mac:
    2.8 GHz Quad Core
    6GB Memory
    I've been having issues with a few projects; using Dynamic Link, directly from my project in Premier, to send them to Encore:
    When attempting to burn a DVD, Encore will 'hang up' and not burn; I rarely burn to DVD, usually I'm always encoding for web, and just always use the 'default settings' in Encore.
    A few things to note:
    *In my project I'm using MOV files, from a Canon 7D, and MP4 files, from a Sony EX-1.
    *I am working off of 3 separate hard drives; very large projects with over 5TBs of media files.
    *I noticed that after inserting a DVD, it caused one of my hard drives to eject; this happened once, as far as I know.
    *This only happens when I use Dynamic Link to send to Encore, via my Premiere Pro project file.
    *My Project settings are always: XDCam HD-1080p/24p
    Please help.
    Thanks

    So you must downrez at some point in the workflow. Some users have problems and/or think they get better quality out of direct PR/AME exports than using DL for this purpose.
    I would test the workflow by creating three short test sequences - one with a clip from one camera, a second from the other, and a third with both in a sequence using the same settings you are using in your edit. I would use the "drag a clip" to the new item method for making each of the first two sequences. By short I mean 30 seconds to 2 minutes with a mixture of still and action.
    Export using whatever method you pick of those recommended, but use CBR 8 instead of VBR etc. Bring the resulting files into Encore. Yes, look at the files exported on the computer, and look at Encore preview, etc, but also burn to a disk and watch on multiple TVs. There are lots of issues in best quality.

  • Issue with applying Event Action filters

    Dear friends,
    A general question on Event Action filters. There is a signature with sig ID 6257.
    The following is the event action filter configuration:

    Even though a valid DHCP offer is being given by the DHCP server, this alert is getting fired.
    We have even excluded the IP's of the DHCP Servers - 172.20.20.10 and 172.20.20.11 from the Attacker Address range parameter in the signature but still this alert gets fired.

    Some things to check:
    1) Is the filter in the active list? Filters can be enabled or disabled, but they can also be active ro inactive. You've only show a part of your configuration so I can't tell if the filter is part of the active list.
    2) Are there actions other than produce-alert for the signature? Or is an event action override adding other actions?
    Produce-alert is not the only action that can cause an alert to be generated. The produce-verbose-alert, request-snmp-trap, log-attacker-packets, log-victim-packet, and log-pair-packets will also cause alerts to be generated. Modify the filter to also remove these actions.
    3) The alert you've shown is a Summary Alert. There may be an issue with Summarization and the Filters. Try modifying the signature to set it to FireAll with no summarization.
    4) If you have multiple filters then check the order of the filters. If the event is matching an earlier filter where the stop-on-match is set to True, then it will not check the event against this filter. Either move this filter up higher in the filter list, or change earlier filters to be "stop-on-match false".
    5) Also check to see if you are running the latest 5.1(7) or 6.0(4) Service pack. If running earlier 5.1 or 6.0 versions you might be hitting a bug that could have already been fixed.
    If none of the above help, then contact the TAC. It could be that you may have foung a bug that the sensor development team is unaware of.
    To help in identifying the problem take a packet capture of the packets from 172.20.20.10 for several minutes around the time when the sensor is generating these alerts.
    This way the team can both check if the signature is firing correctly, and if the filters are working correctly for that signature.

  • Issue with applying plugin in non-English version of AE on non-English version of Windows

    Hi There,
    I am encountering an issue related to my plugin and differing language versions of AE.  When I apply my plugin to a layer within a project opened in an English version of AE, everything behaves as expected.  However, when I apply the same plugin, in the same manner, on a non-English version of AE, I get an error message.  I am dealing with this debug process on Windows 8 in Spanish.  Here is the error I am receiving from the the Spanish version of CS6 on Windows8 (Spanish):
    "After Effects error: no se pudo cargar el plugin "Debug.aex" (126).
    ( 48 :: 46 )
    That basically says that the plugin could not be applied.  Is there any reason why I might get this error in the Spanish version and not receive it in the English version?  Do I need to setup VS2012 to build in release mode for it to work?  Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Arie

    I did find this in the documentation, but am not sure if this is relevant.
    LOCALIZATION
    Thanks to the Unicode support added in CS4, localization is much less painful. For non- Unicode strings, such as in older function suites, we expect strings to be multi-byte encoded using the application's current locale. On Windows, you can use the WideCharToMultiByte() function, specifying CP_OEMCP as the first argument. On Mac OS, use the encoding returned by GetApplicationTextEncoding().
    I do not care if the actual strings are in english even though the plugin is loaded in a non-English install of AE.  Do I still need to do what this part of the documentation is specifying?  Can anybody show me some examples of localization for plugins?
    Thanks,
    Arie

  • Issue with Loading Multiple Videos within a Project

    I am assembling a Captivate project that needs to include several videos that a quite large. When the entire project is written as a Windows executable projector file, the player does not open because the operating system cannot allocate enough memory to open the file.
    I was adding these videos to the project through the "Event Video" option and browsing to the FLV located on my computer. When the Windows projector is created, it loads the entire video into the executable file.
    Is there a way to load a SWF animation that has reference points to the video (located within the same directory as the SWF) so that when the Windows Projector file is written, it does not need to embedd the entire video into the executable file?
    I am currently using Captivate 6.0.1.240.

    Just regarding point 2.
    You will probably find that working in manageable sections (story logical and file size) will be best practice for all post subsequent to edit.
    Ughhh, that is my concern! I'm hoping by having it broken down and organized in self-contained sequences, and by story arc--Prologue, Act One, Act Two...that this will work as good manageble sections as well as easier for story layout.
    I hope by only bringing in each edited rough cut sequence into the Dolly Master Project File it will keep the Master file mean and clean. Also, the reason I started with Prelude was in hopes that I would have a more organized structure for editing, but I am not sure if by bringing in the Prelude rough cuts and supporting footage files if that helps or undermines the too large file issue. However, I really do not have a clue as to what things will really make my files too large or too complicated.
    A lot of hope there I know!
    I try to make it a habit of hitting ctrl-s everytime I complete an action. I have auto-save set to every 15 minutes. I save the project file on two internal hard drives and one external hard drive. At the end of the work day or more often if I have accomplished a lot I email myself a dated/timed copy of the project files. I'm thinking it might be better if I get another dropbox account to have another offsite back-up.
    Well, last night I took a Leap of Faith in Adobe Prelude. I established my project files and sent all of my rough cuts to the appropriate project files. I have to say it was pretty painless. In Prelude right-click rough cut > left-click send to Premiere Pro > wait a few seconds.
    The only drawback is that I could not select a bin in Premiere in which to send the footage and rough cuts. So I had to drag the footage/rough cut files to the appropriate bin. This would be a nice feature to add.
    Here is a link to a pic of my desktop.

    So now the story layout begins! Thanks again and again!

  • Issue with unlinked books in WebHelp Pro project TOC - RH7 and RH8

    I've been testing WebHelp Pro in both RH7 and RH8. Have the same problem in both with the topic that automatically displays when you click a book/sub-book that is not linked to a specific topic.  For some reason, WebHelp Pro displays the last topic in the previous book/sub-book. After opening different books/sub-books within the TOC, I determined that there's a browse sequence being created based on the TOC hierarchy even though I do NOT have any browse sequences set up in this project at the topic level.  However, WebHelp thinks that the last topic above the selected book is what should be displayed even though it might not relate to any of the topics associated with the selected book. This is a real usability issue. I was confused by what was displaying and I'm the one who develops the help topics and TOC.
    By the way, this does NOT happen when I publish using FlashHelp Pro. In FlashHelp, the last topic that was accessed remains in the topic frame if there is no topic linked to the selected book. This is much more acceptable to the user because the topic is not switching.
    I'm assuming that this is a BUG and should be reported!
    NOTE: We're still working in RH7 but plan to publish to RH Server 8 using WebHelp Pro.
    Because I don't expect this to be fixed soon, we have developed a workaround. We are adding a generic but applicable topic for each book/sub-book. This will be our new development standard but it requires going back into 4 different projects to fix the problem. Not the most efficient use of our time as we're swamped with new topic development.

    Hi.
    Yes this is a bug and I'd urge you to report it. You can use this link. The more people that do the greater chance it will be fixed. I have covered the entire problem and the workarounds here.

  • Text Box issues with a poster template

    This sounds stupid and all but, I am trying to type lowercase in a text box in one of the poster templates and it will only type caps. I cannot seem to find anything to clikc or unclick. It seems like this shouldn't be so difficult.

    Hi there,
    I too am having problems with the text box. I have a line at the beginning of each sentence, I can't seem to get rid of. Now this problem does not exist on the first page, but any other pages I try to edit the text on I get this line. I've looked everywhere, but can't seem to find the solution. Any help out ther? Or if you need further clarification to the issue, just let me know!

  • Issue with Document from Template

    Hi Friends,
      I am using a Document from Template step to display a set of records in my Workflow. For this i have a created a template of type excel sheet and i have linked the multi line container element from my workflow to this template. But i am not able the view the records in
    sequence.Lets say my multi line container element has the following 2 records:
    WEATH_ZONE     02/01/2008     03/31/2008     ABC
    BACKACST        03/01/2008        03/31/2008        123
    Once i execute my Workflow i am getting the values appended in a
    single row in excel sheet as follows.
    WEATH_ZONEBACKACST     ABC123     02/01/200803/01/2008     03/31/200803/31/2008
    But i need them in the same format as above.Please let me know how i can solve this issue.
    BTW I have done the linking in the template as follows where Str is my multil ine container element and the values after dot is my fields.
    {&STR.OPERAND&}     {&STR.UDEFVAL1&} {&STR.FROMDATE&}     {&STR.DUEDATE&}

    This workaround worked for me:
    You need to enter manually a ## behind your element.
    For example if your multiline element is :
    {&BUS2012.REPORTDESCRIPTION&}
    You need to insert a ## in the element (in the word-document), like this:
    {&BUS2012.REPORTDESCRIPTION##&} .
    Hope it helps you,
    Bert

  • Issue with applying SQL Server 2014 CU6

    Anyone had an issue like this when applying CU6... I have a single server/single instance 2014 installation running SQL SRVR, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS...
    SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS all upgraded to 12.0.2480.0, but SQL Server did not.  The summary file has the generic failure message below:
    Instance MSSQLSERVER overall summary:
      Final result:                  The patch installer has failed to update the shared features. To determine the reason for failure, review the log files.
      Exit code (Decimal):           -2061893565
      Start time:                    2015-03-13 10:56:18
      End time:                      2015-03-13 10:59:59
      Requested action:              Patch
    After reboot everything came up fine, but now I am left wondering how to troubleshoot this.  The detail log is huge and doesn't show a clear indication of what the issue might be.  Anyone have any guidance on troubleshooting?  I have searched
    the web and found some results for earlier versions... but nothing terribly helpful.

    To close this out, I'd like to note that I finally was able to get to a meaningful error message:
    "The User Data directory in the registry is not valid. Verify DefaultData key under the instance hive points to a valid directory. Error code: 0x851A0043"
    The error resulted from an earlier relocation of the default data location.  A registry entry for DefaultData in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer was incorrectly pointing to an obsolete drive
    letter.  Correcting the drive letter was all that was needed.  I am now successfully at version 12.0.2480.0.
