Issues with Godaddy when putting dynamic sites to server

It has come to my attention that there are all kinds of issues when putting a dynamic PHP site to server when using Godaddy as a host. Since each hosting account uses a variation of secureserver.net, as opposed to localhost, tons of changes have to be made when putting to server; moreover, if you accidentally overwrite existing files from your local machine, then the whole thing falls apart and is useless. This creates far too many difficulties for an independent designer, in my opinion. Has anyone encountered this problem, and, if so, did you migrate to another host?

I have encountered what you are talking about. PHP / mySQL being pretty new to me, <8 months, my first project was a friend's server, and i was allowed to remote connect from home for development.
Later i understood that that ability isnt normal, esp in virtual shared hosting plans.
Since then i have it all sorted, thankfully. I use WAMP (easy install, installs apache,php, mysql in one go, and its free.) for localhost dev.
so how i do it, for now... develop locally w localhost. Have 2 databases created (Applications window -> databases) - one for local, one for remote. the remote is for when the files are uploaded to godaddy (or whoever) and the local for, local of course!
Name them similiar... MyDatabase_L and MyDatabse_R for example.
When youre ready to upload files to remote, use Find / Replace to change all the MyDatabase_L to MyDatabse_R.
works great for me! Considering for a minute i didnt think i'd find ANY way. Also didnt know what the heck i was doing, ha.
worth noting.. if you open a file with the MyDatabase_R, its ok. But if you try to edit anything in that file that would prompt ADDT to connect to the DB, its not gonna work. No big deal, as, ive gotten better with Find / Replace because of all this and am so glad i did!
I know Gunther has an even better method ive been meaning to explore, where his Database files refer to a config file, and changing one number in that config file globally affects all the dependent databse files.
Anyways hope that helped! I have no negative feelings to GoDaddy, rather, have always found their support to be top notch, and prices hard for clients to complain about. To each his own, though!

do you deploy the Spring classes with the application ? I suggest to try the OracleAs forum as well to ensure this has to be in a specific path to be loaded. A list of forums is available from here

I am having the same issue but mine is with Netflix. And there are only 4 categories now on the main menue when there used to be 5. Something went crazy with ATV software.

The HTC hotspot works fine with everything else I connect to it.
Also - ipad will not connect to my HTC via bluetooth. Again, I can connect to everything else with my HTC other than my ipad.
I have to say this is my first venture into Apple products and I have always wanted to get away from my windows based laptop to get a MacBook, the problems I have had (flash player etc) & continue to have (as above) are putting me right off swapping over. I HATE technology that doesn't work and my ipad has been hard work!

IMO opendns is either doing this on purpose (unlikely) or they're under some sort of attack/being used to attack the specific torrent sites although I'm open to other explanations. I believe using the automatic setting for DNS is using my own ISP's DNS servers (which again, work fine... but still...)
I'd rather not use Google's public DNS servers as Google is to commercial these days and I think there's potential privacy issues.

What problem does Encore have with DL?
If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore.

Issue with Backflush when Consuming Fractions

I am having an issue with back-flushing I was hoping Guru's could help me .
Here is the issue:
In the BOM for every 1 EA of X(Parent) we need .025 EA of Y(Child)
The parent part is X. Using CS03 and typing in a quantity of 20 pcs everything looks perfect. I would consume component Y .500 of a sheet.
If you review MFBF for 20 pcs. of X it wants to consume 1.00 of Y. (1 whole sheet instead of .5)
I know I could put a rounding value of 40 on the X to fix this but that would not be an option for this particular process. Measurements of each of these is not exactly the same and very critical.
Is there an issue with SAP consuming fractions? It seems to round up to 1 whole sheet when it should only consume .500 of a sheet. Do you know of a way to fix this?

For some reason which is unknown for me, this topic is very hard to manage within SAP.
We face exactly the same issue producing Tanks from steel sheets.
Base Unit of Measure was EA for Sheets . SO, we create a copy of EA called ED (each with decimals) , allowing up to three decimals and assign it as an alternate UoM to the material. In Bom, we had, for instance, 3.6 ED to produce a tank.
But, in reservations the quantities are stored as Base Unit of measure and without decimals, regardless the fact that you a have an alternative UoM , etc etc.
So, if you consume the component based on MIGO and reservations, SAP will propose 4 EA (o 4 ED ! which is even stranger - because of double conversion between base and alternative UoM) . If you consume by backflush, you dont even realise that the GI is being carried out in that way.
We are still waiting for some solution after we sent a message, describing the issue. It is advisable to search the SAP Notes to see if there is some solution .
So far, alternative UoM is not the solution.
You must change the base unit of measure to ED or have some manual procedure of checking the quantities.
Of course, EA can be redefined with decimal parts, also, but this normally can lead to some other problems (other parts managed striclty in EA, i. e. a tank, could be managed in fractions, 0.75 of a tank !!! etc. )

ACE issue with compression when SSL Initiation is turned on?

We currently doing an evaluation of the Cisco ACE 4710 and have some sites where the backend is Tomcat and SSL is turned on. When we set Default L7 Load-Balancing Action to Load Balance with Compression Method Deflate (I haven't tried gzip yet), requests to these sites return badly mangled stuff. Like a gif image at 7,700 bytes comes back as a 7 bytes file, even default should only try compression on text/*.
Has anyone seen a similar issue?

It turned out the problem was a configuration issue and my understanding of the ACE works with compression, policies, etc.
In conjunction with this I seemed to have found a bug in the GUI, which is also still present in A3 (2.3). I now have a default L7 policy which just set SSL Initiation to ssl client. Added another L7 policy but when looking at the virtual server afterwards the GUI doesn't show that policy.

Major Apple Mail Issues with GoDaddy

I am having MAJOR ONGOING issues wiht Apple Mail that is negatively impacting my ability to work. It's gotten to the point of complete frustration and just considering going back to a PC, it's THAT horrible.
1) I do not regularly receive emails from 2 of my 4 GoDaddy accounts in Apple Mail. Sometimes emails will appear if I close Apple Mail, and then reopen. Sometimes they never appear in Apple Mail. Sometimes they appear randomly - and sometimes they again disappear. Everything is configured correctly (and the same as the functioning GoDaddy accounts) so I know it is not the setup. I NEED TO RECEIVE MY MAIL!
2) I can't move/delete/change anything from the same GoDaddy affected account inboxes in Apple Mail. I file the emails into folders on my Mac, and as soon as I click on another message, they reappear in the inbox. Same if I delete them. I've rebooted, tried a million different settings, delete the account all together and readded, and nothing works. So I have a jumped inbox of several hundred messages, and no matter how many times I file/organize/move/delete emails, they all just go *poof* back into the Inbox. What gives?!
I am so frustrated and my inability to work is more than a small problem at this point. I work in digital marketing, so to say that I need a functioning computer with a functioning email program is an understatement. This Macbook Pro cost over $3k and is less than a year old...funny how for that price I'd just expect it to work.....
I've read through multiple threads on this issue, and tried a million and one fixes, all to no avail. Reboot. Recreate email account. Change password. Update account settings. Test different account settings. Tried with and without SSL. Sometimes it works for a few minutes or if I'm really super lucky, a few hours...but always goes back to these issues.
Is there any resolution in site?

Tried both POP and IMAP. IMAP works better. As mentioned in OP, I have multple GoDaddy accounts. All the rest work. 2 are having these issues. ALL GoDaddy accounts have identical configuration, so I know they are properly set up.
What does GoDaddy say about mail client configuration?

Yes, works fine. All messages are there. Issues is not with GoDaddy, but with Mac.
Have you tried forwarding your GoDaddy email to another email acccound like iCloud?
Yes, this also works fine, however I need my work signatures for my different clients/programs hence the separate accounts in Apple Mail. Again the issues is with the Mac.

Issues with iMessage when switching data carrier (wifi - cellular)

So I have had this issue with my 5S and now my 6+ in iMessage. Not *always* but often enough I've run into issues sending messages via iMessage when I associate with wifi in that they don't send. I'll get an error message saying "not delivered" and it will stack as many outgoing messages I try to send. However, if I force the first message to send as text, subsequent messages will go through afterwards without issue. If I go from wifi to cellular I have no issues whatsoever and when I have these issues on wifi, my data works fine (incoming emails, Facebook notifications, etc.). I used to run cellular data only because I had unlimited but now I have a cap so I intend on using wifi when possible...but to have to send my first message as a text just so I can use iMessage is annoying...

Issues with Images when used w/ Caption Widget & Book File Size Q

Hi Everyone,
I was having issues with images not showing up and determined it was the caption widget causing the issue. I now have one of two issues happening consistently. Either the image does not show at all or just the caption box with bkgd gray and caption text shows, but without the image.
Anyone else have this issue?
Ay ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wasw just about finished with this project when this started!
Also, the size of the book is considerably larger than I realized.It is 81 mb. . . How does this compare to any of your books?

I can't speak to your main issue, as I cannot recreate the problem over here.
As a guess, have you checked to make sure you're not running out of harddrive space? iBA can consume space quickly, and behaves oddly when it begins to run out of room.
But as far as filesize goes, I can only wish for an 81 MB book. Mine is currently a little over 2 GB and growing. Tonight I had to split it into 2 volumes just so iBooks Author can run at a reasonable pace. I was getting tired of waiting 1-2 minutes after dragging a video around on the page before I could get control of the program again.
You should note that Apple is expecting large filesizes for this new Multi-Touch format. The docs on iTunesConnect say the largest allowed upload size for a book is 16GB 2BG (see link below)

Issue with memory when trying to do a restore on iPad 2

I'm had a few issues with my iPad and am trying to do a restore, I start OK but then after a while I get a "can not be restore. The disk you are attempting to use is full" the PC I am using does not have a large C drive and space is limited but I do have a large external drive attached with loads of space. Is there any method of using the external hard drive when restoring?
I hope this makes sence, iPad now been down for over a week and issues getting me down.

The restore must be done within iTunes on your PC while iTunes is running so - No - you cannot restore using the external drive. You might try moving some of the stuff on your C drive to the external drive to free up space and then restore your iPad.

Does anyone know why I am having formatting issues with my tablet and phone sites? I only have the desktop layout. There are banners and footers not reaching the edge of the screen.

Do a Select all on your pages (Most likely a master page if it effects all pages) and you will likely find an empty element or element that extends past the design edges in your desktop design.
