Issues with RFCSDK NW 7.11 while reading interface of a BAPI

I working on migration of our application which uses classic RFCSDK to NW RFCSDK. I have observed a difference in behavior with RFCSDK NW compared to Classic RFCSDK and SAP GUI, while reading interface of a BAPI (BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETLIST).
I have described this in detail below
1. BAPI (BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETLIST), has one parameter "OBJECT_ID", when checked with SAP GUI using transaction "se37" this parameter is there in "IMPORT" and "EXPORT" table separately. When interface of this BAPI is read using "RFC_GET_FUNCTION_INTERFACE" same is observed.
2. If I tried to read interface of this BAPI using RFCSDK NW 7.11 function "RfcGetParameterDescByIndex" the "direction" field of structure "RFC_PARAMETER_DESC" shows this parameter as "RFC_CHANGING". Also it does not have entry of this parameter in "IMPORT" or "EXPORT".
Could I get info on why the RFCSDK NW shows this difference? How to resolve this issue?

Issue with emails unread on Blackberry but read in Outlook

Hi guys,
I'm having issues with this Blackberry and the email.
I've setup the Blackberry (Bold 9700) via BIS to link their Exchange email (Exchange 2003). Once the emails are delivered to the Blackberry, on the Outlook 2003, it shows as it has been read.
I've tried turning the wireless reconcilation on and off, turning the cache mode for outlook on and off, but it has fixed the problem. I've noticed alot of people are having the same problem, but no real solution has been provided. Please help. Thanks.

Windows Easy Transfer (WET) Issues with External Hard Drive - "Can't read from the source file or disk"

I work for Office Depot, in the tech department. Basically, one of our associates was supposed to do a data backup, and re-install Windows 7, then transfer the files back. He used Windows Easy Transfer and compacted everything into a 163 GB file.
Now comes the hard part. When we try to put it back on his computer ((drag-and-drop to the desktop) which has been wiped back to factory settings using the recovery partition), it stops at 79.5 GB remaining (you know how it doesn't give you a % of completion,
it just shows how many GB are remaining) and then says "Can't read from the source file or disk" and gives you an option to try again, or cancel. It gets hung up on the same point each time.
Normally, this wouldn't be a huge issue, but the contents on the drive are his wife's architect blueprints and interior design stuff, along with wedding photos, etc, which are the only copies they have. On top of those, they have court documents and other
important files that we are unable to access now.
I wasn't involved with this transfer, so I'm trying to clean up the mess as best I can. I remembered that the customer's wife was Russian, and had some files typed with a Russian keyboard, so on and so forth. I wonder if that's the issue? If not, I really
have no idea how to manually extract things from a ".mig" file, or how to diagnose what area is potentially corrupted.
In light of this situation, we tried using "Recuva" to recover the files post-wipe, but everything was corrupted or unable to be opened, and it also extracted and recovered all of the "useless" photos, such as the skype logos, up and
down arrows for browsers, etc (it was 160,000+ photos).
Trying to avoid a potential lawsuit, unhappy customer, and costing the company lots of money to see if professionals can get into this external hard drive.
Other relevant information:
We used a Toshiba 500 GB (465 GB) external hard drive.
Customer's computer is an HP Pavilion P6000 Series (Model No. p6520y) running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.
Any other information that is needed can be provided, thanks in advance, and hopefully we can find a solution to this issue quickly!

Unplug from new, head back to new, plug it back in? That doesn't make much sense! Haha.
I knew what you meant though, somewhat. When I search through the drives after clicking yes (Has windows easy transfer
already saved your files blah blah blah) I click on the transfer file and it says "Windows Easy Transfer could not open the file".
Rather than drag-and-drop the file to the desktop, I now tried to double-click on the file itself while it was plugged
into the computer. It opened, and it started transferring until it was about 70% completed, and then an error popped up saying "WET can't open the easy transfer file, make sure your USB device is plugged in or check your internet connection".
I checked, and the USB hard drive's light wasn't on. Now, I unplug it and plug it back in, and the light comes back on,
so I click Retry, and it resets the bar back to nothing and says "Transfer time: 1 minute".
Rather than continue trying, I clicked "Cancel" instead of Retry, and it says "Your transfer did not complete successfully."
It says to click "view report" for more information, but there's no "view report button".
At the moment, I am scanning the External Drive for bad sectors using the check disk tool in properties. It's frozen
at "0 USN bytes processed".

Issue with nested inline popup taskflow while try to return back to parent.

I have been facing one issue. Would you please give me how can I solve this issue which address my scenario. I greatly appreciate your help.
My Scenario:
I have ViewA which opens inline popup page ViewB. On ViewB also have another inline PopUp page ViewC (i.e. nested inline popup). On ViewB, there is back button which taskFlow return call and navigate back to ViewA. I need to implement same Back trigger event from ViewC (Back Button)to ViewA. For this, I am using ReturnListener on ViewB button which opens ViewC inline page. On returnListener, I have used ViewB back button ActionEvent queue. like:

     public void onReturn( ReturnEvent returnEvent )
          ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(buttonBack);

Output Scenario:
While running from ViewB, it fires same Back Button action from ViewC back button. No issue at all.

I have a similar issue.
I have a page (search page) from where i open another dynamic tab(UI dynamic tab shell pattern).
In this second tab, I open a new jspx using "dialog:open" in my taskflow (of the second tab).
Now when I navigate to my first tab with advanced search and try executing my search, a managed bean method is called where I have a line of code as follows:

Is there any specific setting which should be done in a taskflow or a page which opens another page using dialog:openwindow?? And why does this effect any other taskflow?

Issue with cyrillic characters in path while exporting using script

Hi everyone!
It seems that there is some issue in CS5 with exporting document using vbscript (not sure about other scripting languages) and path containing cyrillic symbols. Error popped up every time I try to execute the line docRef.Export path & fname, 2, exportOptions if path containing non-latin characters (probably it only affects one with cyriilic characters though). Command docRef.SaveAs path & fname, jpgSaveOptions, True, 2 works just fine with any kind of path supplied. In CS4, CS3 and CS2 versions this problem doesn't occur.
Is this a known bug and what I should do with it if it's not? I really want help to improve Photoshop;)

Anyone having issues with your iphone4 shutting down while editing photos

Recently I have been cropping some photos on my iphone4, while in the midst of cropping the phone shuts off. Everything is up to date on the phone and I am not sure what the cause of this is. Has anyone else had this issue and what have you done to resolve it?

Performance / stability issues with BDB 3.3.62 while checkpointing

Hi,
first of all: we use BDB 3.2 for more than a year within our application and we never had any performance or stability issues. Now we are about to release a new version of our software with BDB 3.3 and we found some problems during our release tests.
This is the situation: we have implemented some cleanup routines that make very heavy use of the BDB environment. The common usage pattern is to scan the database (about 300GB with >> 100 million items) and than delete a lot of items from the database. The first versions of our cleanup routine worked without any problem but during performance tuning of our code we suddenly and reproducible encountered segmentation faults in the com.sleepycat.je.recovery.Checkpointer thread. We analysed more that 10 VM crashes and ALL crashes were related to Checkpointer thread. (Linux 64 bit, JDK 1.5.0_013 / 1.6.0_06)
After we removed our performance tuning (only application logic – nothing BDB-related) the VM crashes disappeared – so it looks like some kind of problem which only occurs under high load conditions. Next thing we tried was enabling our performance tuning and setting Ceckpointer configuration to default (write a checkpoint after 20MB) before that we used time based checkpointing with 60 sec interval.
With Default Checkpointer configuration there were no VM-crashes but performance was very slow!
Finally my question: What Checkpointer configuration would you recommend for an environment that is under very high load with regard to delete operations? Would you recommend using “high priority Checkpointing”? Would you recommend time- or data-based checkpointing?
It looks like Checkpointing every 60 seconds was not a good idea but 20MB seems to be too slow.
This leads to another question: What does a longer Checkpointing interval mean for recovery time? Does recovery take substantially longer if checkpointing is done less fequently?
Any help would be very much apprechiated.

Issue with Siri sending texts, doesn't read back outgoing msg

When I got the iPhone 4 I could hold the home button and tell Siri "Ask my wife when will you be home for dinner?" and Siri would respond, "Here is your message to ******, it says, when will you be home for dinner? Do you want to send it?" Now, it skips the part where it reads back the message. It now responds with "Here is your message to ******. <long pause> Do you want to send it?" I have Voice Feedback set to 'always' and Siri reads incoming texts. I'm fighting side effects from eye surgury this week and it's really a PITA that Siri won't confirm the outgoing message (and half the time gets it wrong!). Thanks!

After asking my wife about it, it seems the automatic read back is only happening on bluetooth. When I hold the phone and do the same thing it won't read back the outgoing text but it will in my car. I also figured out that if it doesn't read back the text, you can ask Siri to 'review' and she will read it back then.

Issue with defaulting Business Partner Role while BP Creation

I am having a simple requirement that while creating any contacts, the Business Partner role and authorization group will be defaulted.
Now 1st was trying to wrtite code in the enhancement spot : CRM_UIU_BP_ENHANCEMENT --> badi CRM_BP_UIU_SAVE --> Method ON_SAVE_EVENT (Event handler for save event ). But sometimes it is triggered, some times not. When it it triggered, transaction is giving a dump.
Again, I tried to write code in badi BUPA_GENERAL_UPDATE. There also, I am getting the same error " The COMMIT WORK processing must not be interrupted. "
I am writing this code in the method :

Are you trying to default Business Roles & Authorizations at the time of SAVE of a new CP?
If yes, then everytime you click on SAVE button on CP Create Screen the Save BADi will be triggered.
Cases when its not getting triggered please debug into the event handler method of view-BP_CONT/BPCONTOverview->EH_ONSAVE method.
In this method at line (below) the save badi is triggered:-
IF cl_crm_uiu_bp_tools=>save( ir_message_service = lr_msg_service ) = abap_true.
In the above method - CL_CRM_UIU_BP_TOOLS=>SAVE( ) the save event handler is triggered :-
* trigger ON_SAVE for registered handlers
raise_save_event( ).
If you want the default to happen when you navigate to CP Screen , you'll have to put the defaulting code in an implementation of a different badi - BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS.

Issue with Sign reversal in Voyager while coneecting to BW Query

I am using Voyager (XI 3.0) to connect to SAP BW query. Query consists of characteristic structure, where some of the rows of structure are reversed using option "Sign reversal". Usually in SAP BW all the Revenues are in negative sign and in the report we should convert it into positive sign.
In Bex Web report i am able to see the data which is reversed as defined in query. But if I create a report in voyager, it still gives the data in negative sign.
Is this a problem in XI 3.0?

Hello Raghu
Voyager just displays the information contained in the BW OLAP server. Most artifacts of the query are ignored by Voyager... which is designed for data exploration and analysis. Hence why numbers are displayed with the negative sign.
There are two options:
1) Open the Voyager Measures formatting option and for each measure (key figure) you can specify how the negative number is represented, e.g. in red or within parenthesis.
2) If all the numbers in a row/column are negative and if there are only a handful of rows/columns... a possible workaround is to create calculations which take the original measure and multiply by -1. You can then hide the original measures leaving only the calculated measures.

Issues with Time Machine File Restore Permissions and Interface

Hi All,I bought a Time Capsule in January 2010, and i've had backups since then.
Time Machine's interface has pretty much always been laggy as ****, but I've always put that down to using it over wifi, perhaps that was a wrong assumption.
Anyway, I went to open a folder in a virtual machine which resides in my mac's documents folder, and it wasn't there. Sure enough this folder wasn't in my documents folder, so I thought i'd restore it from time machine. Time machine shows every segment as a pink fully coloured one (signalling theres a backup there) for a few secs, before most of them turn into a pale pink. Looking into the issue further, it seems as though I don't have permission to access the documents folder on a lot of backups, by looking at the users/brett/ folders on them (which i do have access to), right clicking on the restricted folder shows that everyone has no access, and it's fetching the other user. Trying to add myself to it doesn't work.
I have gone through two MBPs with the same backup set, and a number of hard drives (the latest being a SSD I put in yesterday, and the migration assistant restore from time machine worked without skipping a beat - never had a problem doing full restores or migrations, just using the interface)
Obviously the easiest thing to do would be to start afresh, but I'd rather not as I'd lose 2 years worth of backups, and who's to say this wouldn't just happen again in the future? Could this be why the interface is so slow too?

Yes, there is a lot going on to "populate" the display -- it can be sluggish even to a FireWire 800 drive.

I don't do Windoze, so am not familiar with the structure of the VM files, or how the permissions on them work. Many folks exclude them from Time Machine, and back them up separately.

Yes, because it simply copies whatever permissions are there. It doesn't need to (and shouldn't) check whether the logged-on user has permission to anything.
Could this be why the interface is so slow too?
It could be a contributor.
Can you set the permissions on the VM files on your Mac so everyone has read rights? That should at least allow you to restore their backups.

EHPI installer: Error while reading a dynpro. Stuck at Start Shadow First.

Hi Everyone,
I am dead in the water with my test install of EhP5 using the most current installer. This small test is on an older iseries, V5R4 with 8G memory. The SAP version is ECC 6.0 at sp Basis 23 and Applications at 19.
The install stops at Start Shadow First, but the instance and work processes are up on the server.   The log- SAPehpiConsole reads:
Severe error(s) occured in phase MAIN_SHADOW/START_SHDI_FIRST!

So I have a problem communicating with the shadow. Or is it a problem with the db_open?
From the test system I have an entry in SM59 to the shadow and I get this error when trying a connection test.
Error Details     Error while reading a dynpro.
And trying to logon to the client sends the same message, it does not bring up the login screen.
OK. So in the 3 weeks that I have restarted, re-set and completely restored and restarted the install, I have always come to this point. I have search for similar issues and have done a review of pertinent notes etcu2026    Just as a comment, last year I successfully did the Ehp 4 upgrade without many problems on this same system using last years SAP system.   In the month that I have been trying to do this, SAP has replaced the EHPI installer 3 times which indicates some problems on their part.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
