Issuse in Uploading a .CSV file from AL11 to Database table.

Hi All,
I have a .CSV file (UTF-8 format) which contains Chinese Characters.
I uploaded the file to AL11 and it shows that all teh data is correct in AL11.
Now i am using a program to Read file from AL11 and update a ztable but some of the characters are
modified and some are getting saved as junk characters.
Kindly let me know what can be done.
Regards,
Jose

Jose,
The issue is pretty much clear. Ask the IT team to change the regional settings for languages. Normally we don't have
access to Korean, Traditional chinese....etc.
You might be getting characters/symbols as ?? ##. Go ahead and change the regional setting.
This will solve your issue.

  • Uploading Large csv file from Local File

    I have a 6GB csv file which I created on my local machine which is named TrainDF.csv.  I can't upload it directly as it exceeds the 1.95GB size limit uncompressed.  However, I tried saving it as an RData file (as well as a zip file of the RData
    file) and uploading that, however my R code throws an "unable to open connection" error when I try to load this data with an R Script with this code.
    load("src/TrainDF.RData"); maml.mapOutputPort("TrainDF");
    I have even tried:
    load("/src/TrainDF.RData");
    load("./src/TrainDF.RData");
    load("~/src/TrainDF.RData");
    TrainDF <- load("/src/TrainDF.RData");
    TrainDF <- load("./src/TrainDF.RData");
    TrainDF <- load("~/src/TrainDF.RData");
    Same error for everything.  What would be the simplest most straight-forward way to get a 6GB csv file usable as an input for an experiment from my local machine?  I may need step by step instructions on this one depending on the answer.
    Also, if a complete step by step answer to this question can be found somewhere please post a link to it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob
    P.S.  I know the data is actually there,  I am able to download it.

    Yes, all appears to work now.  I have a bad habit of interchanging a csv file with a dataframe in R when I talk because they are so trivial to interchange.  I meant a saved (RData) object containing a dataframe that was originally loaded from
    a csv file.  My problems were not knowing specifically how to write the path to the src folder and I didn't even think about using a different input.  Hopefully documentation should be coming out in the future which clarifies these things.
    In my opinion information on how to get info in and out of Azure ML is somewhat lacking.  Although, I must say this is truly impressive work you guys are doing and not only that you are getting it done at a mind-boggling pace.  So good job on that.
    Thanks for your great help and fast response!

  • How can I make an easy *.CSV file to load into database table

    Hi All,
    I have a huge excel sheet having columns item#, description and qty. The description column sometimes maybe one word name, two word name separated with space or may be , spearated name. I want to write and PL/SQl code which will read this file and load it into database table. Now the *.CSV file is either comma delimited or tab text delmited which both do not solve my issue. Is there any better solution with anyone which can prevent the manual editing to the *.CSV file and I can easily load it to table.
    Your help is appreciated,
    Thanks
    Zahir

    SQL*Loader is probably the fastest method, but since you specifically asked for a PL/SQL method:

  • Double quotes missing in CSV file but exist in text file from AL11

    Hi I am sending a file to AL11 with one of the fields having double quotes Like "field value" . When i download into Text file  i am seeing the quotes but not when download as CSV file from Al11. Any SAP notes for this . If i add  multiple quotes ' """" ' to have in csv I am seeing more quotes in text file which is not accepted . Please reply if anyone worked on this before . Thanks Kamesh

    The CSV file also has the quotes (check in notepad), but when opened in MS Excel, Excel has a feature to ignore double quotes and consider the comma inside the quotes as part of field, not as a field separator.

    Hi BI consultant:
       Could you please provide more details?
    For example:
    1.Is your P application server a UNIX flavor? (Solaris, AIX, UX, Linux)
       If yes..
             2. Are you able to see the contents of the file correctly with a "cat" or "vi" command? (at operating system level).
                   If no...
                         3. Did you upload the csv flat file to the server via FTP?
                                If yes...
                                     4. Did you use the "binary" or the "ascii" parameter on the FTP command used to upload the file?
    Probably you need to upload the CSV file again to your application server and make sure you can se the file contents ("cat" or "vi" command) before trying to execute the InfoPackage.

  • Download file from AL11 into CSV to load MD into BPC

    Hi All
    I have an issue in downloading file from AL11 which is in the form of CSV.
    1) I have exported the masterdata for Costcenter using a Open hub.
    2) The file is residing at the app server AL11 in the form of CSV.
    3) I want to down load the file into CSV and upload that file into BPC NW for my costcenter diemension.
    When i am downloading the file from AL11 , the total records are merged into one row, i cannot download same as it is available in AL11.
    I have followed the HOW TO GUIED : HOW TO AUTOMATE MD LOADING IN BPC nw.
    I m unable to get the file properly on to my PC.
    could you please help me .
    AK

    You should open your file in AL11, then clicking 'List' then 'Save' you'll be able to download your file. There will be some header lines indeed.
    You'd better use an open hub with your local client as destination if you need the file.

  • Uploading a CSV file and getting Error ORA-01403: no data found in V4.1.1.

    I have an issue where myself and another user are unable to upload a csv file to my application using the "File Browse" page item in V4.1.1. I get the following error, "Error ORA-01403: no data found".
    This function was working perfectly last week prior to the upgrade of our APEX to V4.1.1 from V3. Other users are still able to upload the csv file, so the PL/SQL behind it must be ok.
    So here is where I am up to with testing.
    Tested the upload using my login on my PC – Fail
    Tested the upload using my login on another PC – Fail
    Tested the upload using other user’s login on my PC – Success
    Tested the upload using other user’s login on another PC - Success
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Greg

    The offending piece of code was in a block of script that I used from an online sample when I was first setting up this upload script. A colleague had the same issue in another application and rewrote the script to resolve the issue, see below.
    I'm still perplexed as to why the majority of users could run it ok, and there were only 2 of us that it errored on. But now it's working for all, and I can go back to building some cool stuff in V4.1.1.00.23.

  • How to upload Unicode encoding files from web?

    Hi everyone,
    I do not manage to upload Unicode encoding CSV files from web. Currently I use class CL_HTMLB_MANAGER to upload file from web. It works fine with ANSI encoding files, but file content is not uploaded correctly with Unicode encoding files. Especially I get innumerable characters u201C#u201D throughout the string that contains the file content (For example instead of u201CSAP CATALOG CSV 2.0u201D I get u201CÿþS#A#P# #C#A#T#A#L#O#G# #C#S#V# #2#.#0#u201D).
    I did not find in forums a solution to my issue that is why I am now asking for your help.
    How can I upload Unicode encoding files from web? Do you know another way to upload file from web that is Unicode compatible?

    Have a look at the httpd.conf file (or get your system administrator to look at it) and see what the value of TimeOut is set to. You may need to increase it in order to export large tables via APEX.

  • Upload a CSV file directly to an Oracle directory?

    We have some existing packaged code that reads CSV files from an Oracle directory into the database via external tables. Currently, the files are placed in the directory via FTP, but we'd like to upload them via APEX if possible.
    As far as I can tell, APEX file upload will store a file as a BLOB in an APEX table. Is there any way to re-direct the file upload to put file straight into the Oracle directory instead? The files will be copied from a Windows client to an Oracle server on Unix.
    We're still on APEX v.3.2 unfortunately.

    Similarly, we don't really want to have to extract a BLOB from the APEX file-upload table and re-create the CSV file either, as this seems like a lot of work to do a simple thing.
    >
    Not really, just a page process...
    PROCEDURE blob2file (p_blob         BLOB,
                         p_directory    VARCHAR2 := 'MY_DIR',
                         p_filename     VARCHAR2 := 'my.csv')
    IS
       t_fh    UTL_FILE.file_type;
       t_len   PLS_INTEGER := 32767;
    BEGIN
       t_fh := UTL_FILE.fopen (p_directory, p_filename, 'wb');
       FOR i IN 0 .. TRUNC ( (DBMS_LOB.getlength (p_blob) - 1) / t_len)
       LOOP
          UTL_FILE.put_raw (t_fh, DBMS_LOB.SUBSTR (p_blob, t_len, i * t_len + 1));
       END LOOP;
       UTL_FILE.fclose (t_fh);
    END;?

  • Upload csv file data to sql server tables

    Hi all,
    I want clients to upload csv file from their machines to the server.
    Then the program should read all the data from the csv file and do a bulk insert into the SQL Server tables.
    Please help me of how to go about doing this.
    Thanx in advance.....

    1) Use a multipart form with input type="file" to let the client choose a file.
    2) Get the binary stream and put it in a BufferedReader.
    3) Read each line and map it to a DTO and add each DTO to a list.
    4) Persist the list of DTO's.

  • CCM automatic upload of CSV files

    Dear CCM experts,
    We are running CCM 2.0 installed within SRM and do not have XI in place so we use CSV files to load our catalogs manually via the web. We have to fullfill the requirement to load the catalogs automatically. The files should be "picked up" by a custom build abap program from a file server.
    The question is: Are there function modules, abap programs that allow you to load the CSV files from the SRM GUI that we can incorporate in a custom build program? In other words, we load CSV files currently via the web, but which ABAP program/function module runs this process?
    Thanks in advance.
    We have a requirement to load our catalog

    Hi
    I guess this can be possible, but will require some research and analysis.
    <b>You need to create the function module based on your business requirement. Incase you need any help, do let me know.</b>
    Have a look at the following function modules, which will help.
    <u>  CALL FUNCTION 'WS_FILENAME_GET'
        CALL FUNCTION 'RSDS_CONVERT_CSV'</u>
    Refer to following reports
    <u>BBP_NONR3_ADDRESS_UPLOAD
