Double quotes missing in CSV file but exist in text file from AL11

Hi I am sending a file to AL11 with one of the fields having double quotes Like "field value" . When i download into Text file i am seeing the quotes but not when download as CSV file from Al11. Any SAP notes for this . If i add multiple quotes ' """" ' to have in csv I am seeing more quotes in text file which is not accepted . Please reply if anyone worked on this before . Thanks Kamesh

The CSV file also has the quotes (check in notepad), but when opened in MS Excel, Excel has a feature to ignore double quotes and consider the comma inside the quotes as part of field, not as a field separator.

If you are doing this in a web application you can set the content type appropriately and the file will open.
If you are doing this standalone you can use the Java RunTime class and execute something like this as the command "notepad.exe c:\\myfile.txt" which should open it up on a Windows operating system.

Removing Double Quotes while uploading CSV file in APEX

Whenever I upload a CSV file using data load option in APEX there are values which get uploaded in Double Quotes.
e.g Oracle Polska Sp. z o.o -----------value like this gets uploaded with Double Quotes."Oracle Polska Sp. z o.o"
How can I overcome this problem? I am using Apex 4.2.

Did you specify the "Optionally Enclosed By" option with the double quote sign?

I need some help, I wrote the below to scan for certain files types on client machines but I cant get the script to scan anything other than the C$. Apologies I am kind of new to scripting and PS. The script is kicked off using a batch file that makes the
CR directory on the clients. I think the problem stems from the $disk variable or the way I have used foreach or the loop - any help would be appreciated

Then there is "$x = $Host.UI.RawUI.ReadKey("NoEcho,IncludeKeyUp")" , What are you trying to do?
It looks like that is a pause after the code has completed to give the user time to read the message prior to exiting.
@V Sharma - As gaff-jakobs has mentioned, there are some parts of your code that need looked at. Please take a look at what he has advised and make the necessary changes. If you want to append data (doing a > does not append), I would look at using Out-File
-Append -FilePath <filename> to accomplish this.
Usually, outputting to a text file limits what you can do with the output once it goes to a text file. I would look at using something such as Export-Csv -Append -Path instead (assuming you are running PowerShell V3). But if saving to a text file is part
of your requirement, then just be sure to use the first method I mentioned.

'Blu Ray Error Code 6: File Alreay Exists The ES File is Short' Message

I have successfully built my project several times until I edited three files outside of Encore.
These clips are now slightly shorter in length and I have re-imported them back into Encore and re-done the timelines they were in, the chapters and menus. I have saved the project under a different name, but when i come to build the project (Blu Ray disc or ISO) I keep getting the error 'Blu Ray Error Code 6: File Alreay Exists. The ES File is Short' and it aborts the build process.

Sometimes session files get corrupted when burn a project again and again or changing the assets.
If you remove session files from you project then while burning Encore will create new session files and this problem may resolve.
Remove the session files from AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder
Session file location -
/<Project path>/AuthorScriptSessions
Remove this folder and try to burn the project

Hard drive failed - have music files but not library.itl file

So here's the situation. The hard drive on my husband's laptop recently failed. It is now fixed, but his data is lost. Luckily, we had moved his music files to an external drive. It appears that we only moved the music files and not the library.itl file. We have a backup from November of the library.itl file.
1. His ipod is fine. He wants to be able to pull the playlist info from his ipod to restore the info on the library.itl file. Is that possible?
2. If that is not possible, what are the ramifications of restoring the library.itl file from November? Will he "lose" the music that was added since then?

1. Not with itunes, sadly. It will try to wipe the ipod since it is a 'new 'library.
2. Yes, he'll lose everything added since November.

Write into existing file with "write to text file"

Hi all,
I have a text file that contains several lines of data (text). Now I would like to replace the first three lines with text coming from a string array.
My approach is shown in WriteToFile.vi that is attached.
When I am executing this vi (with an empty file), everything seems to be working fine in the first place.
The file will contain the following text:
oneoneone
twotwotwo
threethreethree
Now, when the third element in the array is shortened (lets say to "threethr") before execution, the file will contain the following text:
(the file was not emptied before execution)
oneoneone
twotwotwo
threethr
three
How can I avoid the last line being written? I have made many tests and I could not find a solution.
One more example:
Lets say we have an existing file, inside this file is:
oneoneone
twotwotwo
three
fourfourfour
Now I would like to overwrite line three with "threethreethree". Therefore I execute my vi as shown in the attachment.
What I get as a result is:
oneoneone
twotwotwo
threethreethree
ur
So, the text in line four, which should not be touched, is "ur" instead of "fourfourfour".
Any idea to solve this problem?
What I basically need is replacing a line of a text file in a conveinient way.

The remaining fourth line is there because the third line has a <nl> at the end. You have not emptied the file so the rest of the file will be kept. This is because your line is shorter.
In the scond example the third line is longer and it will overwrite the beginning of the fourth line.
Files aren't organized in lines they are oganized in bytes. And what you write are bytes to the file even with text files.
Replacing a single line in a file is done by reading the file line by line. All unchanged lines are written to a temporary file and the line with the new text will be written instead of the original line to the temporary file. When the writting is done rename the original file, then rename the new file into the original file and then delete the renamed original file.

InCopy Users can't open ICML files, but can open INCX files

We've just switched over to CS4 -- both for designers and editors. If the editors/writers create a file and save it as an ICML, I can open and edit it no problem. However, when I export something in ICML, they cannot access it. The writers/editors are all on PCs (running XP Professional 5.1 - service pack 3). I am also on the same type of system, but this is also happening to another designer here who is on an iMac (probably OSX).
Does anyone know if this is a known problem with an easy fix, such as a patch, plug-in, upgrade, etc.? Our tech support guys are not very good with Adobe products, especially InCopy.
I've tried to search for a previous thread about this on this forum, with no luck (maybe I'm not using the right terms), and also on Google.
At the very least, if anyone knows a way to switch the export file type default so it just does CS3 Exchange (incx) instead of the ICML files, that would also really help.

They shouldn't be opening the ICML files. They should be opening an InDesign file or an InCopy assignment file.
That said, what do you mean when you say they can't access it. That's not nearly enough to go on.
What happens when they try? Could it be a permissions issue on the server?
BTW, CS4 is now at 6.0.4 for both InDesign and InCopy.

As you can see, my code reads the particular sequence of 4 selected fields, From, Date, To, and Subject,
out of an email that contains that specific sequence of 4 fields then I would like to place them in a text file
called WriteANSIencodedPlainTextSelectedFields.txt, and then print the number of emails in the document.
Instead of the desired output I would like to write to the file WriteANSIencodedPlainTextSelectedFields.txt; I am only getting this:
Count = 0
What is my problem???

I was trying to import all my conatct that I created from Number to iList, I kept on failing, after I did some reaserch, and found out I need to save to an delimited text file. Can anybody help me? Or if anyone can direct me from import an Number file into iList, it would be wonderful, please help.

You have a couple of options to convert the data to a tab-delimited file. The easist may be to copy the table from Numbers & paste it into a Pages word processing document. From there you can export it as a plain text file which you can then import.
