Isuggest that verizon becomes more like sprint...

isnt it a new day when verizon got all its old customers for being soo good at service....

HOW  {word filter avoidance} is this kinda of service... the pre paid customers get better customer service.... but us loyal users cant even {word filter avoidance} call when ever we want...
thats horrible... showing loyalty to them is not worth the effort...
and omg insurance is a whole different story... how the hell do i pay you!, monthly fees, taxes, service... and you cant even file my insurance... i was in the store on 86th steet in manhattan... and they told me they couldnt even mail out my phone when i went to them to get the new one connected... verizon has become an evil empire doing what they want... its too bad that so many people stick to them cause they dont know that they are basically getting ripped off... i been getting ripped off for years now. i have had verizon since 03?... and they used to be so nice... now they just a buncha suits who dont know crap about technology and just click preset programs behind a computer... whats the point of having such "classy" staff when they arent even mentally there... they dont even know WHY phones are hyped... why they CAN do and what they can do... its a shame to see this company that i brought alot of users to go to **bleep**... they need a new pr and customer service... to say the least....
and verizon just stopped me from psoting their own link to thier web page ... for customer service agreement....
hahahaha! that is the best...
If you change your device or receive a Service promotion, you may be required to change your Plan to one that we are currently offering at that time.
thats great since when do that do this? i never heard of this! i know ex employees who get everything on there phone unlimited for 70 a month and out or control price... switch phones and STILL have thier plans...
We may change prices or any other term of your Service or this agreement at any time, but we'll provide notice first, including written notice if you have Postpay Service. If you use your Service after the change takes effect, that means you're accepting the change. If you're a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this agreement has a material adverse effect on you, you can cancel the line of Service that has been affected within 60 days of receiving the notice with no early termination fee.
whats the point of having a contract with them... if they can do what they want...
and that should be before they say anything to... before buying this phone with this promotional plan. verizon has the right to change that plan anytime.
You must pay all taxes, fees and surcharges set by federal, state and local governments. Please note that we may not always be able to notify you in advance of changes to these charges.
its called bold font for a reason... send me a statement saying that this is WHY! in BOLD! duhhhhh....
We're here to help. It's important that you notify us right away, so we can suspend your Service to keep someone else from using it. If you're a Postpay customer and your wireless device is used after the loss or theft but before you report it, and you want a credit for any charges for that usage, we're happy to review your account activity and any other information you'd like us to consider. Keep in mind that you may be held responsible for the charges if you delayed reporting the loss or theft without good reason, but you don't have to pay any charges you dispute while they are being investigated. If we haven't given you a courtesy suspension of recurring monthly charges during the past year, we'll give you one for 30 days or until you replace or recover your wireless device, whichever comes first.
sooo... you will do all that... but you wont handle the insurance... claim the insurance... i really have to go to some one else... to get the phone that you have exclusively... wow... thats all i really have to say...
that im not going to pay you ever! you guys are a joke. and im going to sprint... maybe when you guys actually get better service... ill come back... but thanks again for NOTHING!

Hello and thanks to the community for providing great help to our fellow member. Hi, frustratedfan. I've just finished reading your posting and I can see why you partially call yourself "frustrated". What I'm hoping is that the "fan" portion of your nickname was meant for Verizon Wireless. To me, that means you're still a fan of VZW, but you don't much like what you've seen lately. I really want to help you regain your confidence in us, but I really need your help understanding something. In the title you provided for this thread, you say that VZW should be more like Sprint. I certainly don't want to invalidate your opinion on that, but I think I missed out on what areas you feel that Sprint is superior to VZW. You mention the hours of availability that our Customer Service is available, but you don't state what Sprint's customer service hours are. You mention our insurance procedures, but you don't state how they differ from Sprint. You mention several sections of our Customer Agreement, but you don't state how Sprint's Customer Agreement is better.
Again, it is not my intention to invalidate your feelings on this. On the contrary, I want to support you! I want to see where one of our valued customers feels that we need to improve.
Until I hear back from you on those points, I would like to respond to those things that I can help you with: VZW policies. As you know, our Customer Service teams are available 17 out of each 24 hour day to discuss billing and service concerns. That's more than 2/3 of each day! Most other utilities can't say that! What we're also proud of My Verizon, which is available at all times. Just about any question you have about your bill or concern about your device can be addressed at www.verizonwireless.com! Don't have access to a computer? Try My Verizon Handset. Just want to check your minutes (dial #MIN) or check your data usage (dial #DATA) or make a payment (#PMT) or even know if you can get a discount off a new phone (#UPG)? All available 24 hours a day!!
I'm here to help with any concern you have, frustratedfan. If you prefer not to discuss this publicly, you can send me a personal message. Thanks!

    I'm done......Sprint here I come!!!

i have to admit it is slower for me than a year ago. i used to average 14+mbps (20 on good days) and now it's usually 7-8mbps (10 on good days). i don't know much about how it all works, but have always assumed it was because when i got the tbolt a year ago, there were hardly any users on the LTE network, and now there is MUCH more traffic. either way though, it is much faster than sprint here (phoenix area).

Trying to create a text that is on fire or more like a hot branding iron

    Something like this?
That was from a project I did a few months ago.  Sounds similar to what you want.  I did that in After Effects.
Basically all I did was add a glow effect to the text and messed around with the glow parameters.  The black smoke is animated and moves on the actual video and is basically some pre keyed smoke footage that I had.  The smoke was originally gray but black looked cooler.
I'd say it's pretty close to your hot branding iron thing.

  • Is it possible that Verizon could have screwed things up more than this?

I contacted Verizon 10 days ago about internet and cell phone service the person I spoke with told me that Verizon did not offer internet in Illinois and I should call something called Frontier Communications
I should have taken this as a sign that I shouldn't do business with Verizon
Instead I went to your office on State street in Chicago. I was told that
Verizon does in fact have internet, they have an arrangement with ComCast. I was told
if I signed a 2 year contract, the first 6 months would be  $20 a month and then the price
would be $40 a month for rest of the contract.
I signed up and was given an account number and a number to call ComCast
When  I spoke to Comcast, I was told that there was no agreement with Verizon
I went back to Verizon, Verizon called Comcast. Now Comcast was saying there was a agreement but the terms were different
It was now $20 a month for 6 months, but no contract. After 6 months there was no guarantee what could happen
to the price. There could be another promotion,  it could go up
I agreed reluctantly and signed up
The earliest appointment was the following Monday.
I had to leave work early for the appointment. I won't get paid for this missed time
I was given a time frame for when the ComCast Technician would show up. He was late; he arrived after the timeframe
I had ordered wireless internet. I know I ordered wireless because I discussed this with the comcast rep when I placed the order
We talked about how many devices could use the wireless at the same time, how far I could be from the router, whether there was a separate router and modem or if it was one unit, if I could buy my own rather than rent it, etc.
The technician did not have wireless equipment with him. He said the order didn't indicate that it was wireless.
I asked if he could install what he had since I had been waiting almost a week for the internet and then I could go to their office to swap it
He said no, a technician had to install it. If he installed what he had and they sent out another technician later with a wirelss router
they would charge me a second installation charge
The worst part though, is the earliest they can have someone back out is Wednesday ,ten more days later
That means almost three weeks with no internet at home and I have to take off from work again and lose more pay to wait for the technician again
I do computer support. I'm on call for work. If I get called out at night and don't have internet, I have to go downtown in the middle of the night

I understand that you are frustrated with the yes/no/yes regarding internet through Verizon.  I am assuming you are referring to DSL or fiber optic internet with Wi-Fi, since you state the internet service is actually provided by Comcast.  That is as far as my understanding goes.  Your post is titled "Is it possible that Verizon could have screwed things up more than this," but the rest of your complaints (please understand I do not argue the validity of your anger or frustration) are, in fact, regarding services rendered (or not) by Comcast.
I used to have a bundle with Centurylink internet, Directv satellite, and Verizon Wireless.  I got a separate bill from Verizon but I got a discount for the Centurylink and Directv bill by linking my cell phone numbers and creating a "triple play."  Centurylink had ridiculous scheduling issues with their techs, and it took five calls and two weeks to actually get the internet hooked up, at 1.5 mbps as the lines couldn't accommodate the 10 mbps the rep offered.  I was upset with Centurylink, not Verizon.  I had upgraded my cell phones through Centurylink, but if/when I had any issues, I called Verizon.
The issues you are describing are not within Verizon's control, which should have been clear when you had to speak with Comcast to set up the account and order.  You need to call Comcast to resolve it, and the sooner the better.  I had a horrible time trying to recoup money I paid to Directv after breaking the bundle, and eventually Centurylink refunded my money since the were the ones refusing to release my payments to Directv, saying I had a bundle but they could not discuss billing for Directv service. Almost all companies have a window for refunds and billing disputes, and Centturylink gave me the runaround until I demanded escalation.  Once the dispute period is over you don't have a leg to stand on for credits or anything else.  I had to get noisy to get results, and you might have to as well.
Step one is calling Comcast and placing the blame where it belongs, then work toward a solution to rectify the lost time and frustration.

in app store some applications are of very small size like 15-20 Mb and after installing them they become more than 100 mb. how to determine their actual size???

The app store size is probably just the software, while the size on your iPhone includes data.
You can determine the size on your iPhone by looking at Settings > General > Usage.

I have a long numbers document, that I'd like to make more print friendly.
It is a list of my DVD's that I just listed one after the other (1-200) when I tried to print it, it would be 18 pages,
can I change it to be more like columns side by side to save paper?

    S,
I assume that you also have Pages on your computer (or some other capable WP program). I also assume that you have eliminated any unnecessary columns, so you have a 1-column table in Numbers.
When it comes time to print, Copy the entire Table: Click on the table name in the Sheets Pane and Command-C.
Switch to Pages, open a blank WP template and set the number of columns to 3 or so. With the Text Insertion Cursor flashing on the first line of the first column of the blank template, Command-V. Your table should paste into the Pages document as an Inline Object and will Wrap on the page as you desire. Then Print in Pages.

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Pen tool that behaves more like in Illustrator

I'd like the pen tool to behave more like in Illustrator - mainly where you can click on
points to make them lose half of a handle, rather than having to go get the convert tool and click on the point.

In Photoshop you never have to actually choose the Convert Point  tool at all, its best reached with these shortcuts.
    • When using the Pen, the Alt key will change to the Convert Point tool, as C.Pfaffer… has said. Needs to be over the endpoints, or path points.
    • When using the Pen, the command (cntrl) key , will bring up the Direct Selection tool. These two shortcuts mean that with a single tool you can make and reshape paths in any way, no switching tools necessary. A much better, and quicker to use system, than Illustrators more cumbersome system in my opinion.
    • With the Direct Selection Tool  (A key), Option > Command (cntrl)  at the same time will also bring up the Convert Point tool. This means that the reshaping existing paths is also easier in Photoshop.
For people who are so  ingrained into Illustrator's way of doing these things, I think it would be possible to have a Preference to use "Illustrators Pen Tool" - this is a valid Feature Request and this has been suggested before.

  • Swatches Pallette that behaves more like Illustrator or InDesign

Please implement a swatches pallette that behaves more like the one in Illustrator or InDesign - with the ability to group swatches, easily import groups of swatches from another file or .ase, and overall just be more friendly for editing and creating swatches for specific project use or client use. (also make it easier to delete groups of swatches)
    Thanks!

There won't be complete consistency, becuase the applications work in very different ways.    Photoshop's swatches are just a way to pick colors, not live objects connected to the artwork as in Illustrator and InDesign.
Also, each app has considerable history, and major changes to functionality aren't undertaken lightly.
And remember that each app addresses many different kinds of user: what may be appropriate to your workflow may hinder someone else's.  (and we can't offer an infinite number of UI variants)
But that said, we have several requests to make Photoshop's swatches (and other presets) easier to manage.  We have some ideas, but haven't had time to work on them yet.

  • Quick selection tool doesn't snap to to the nearest area. Working more like a lasso tool and the add layer button doesn't seem to creat the cutout that it should.

Quick selection tool in elements 13 doesn't snap to the nearest border area of the photo. Works more like a lasso. Also the add layer button when clicked on only brings up a black layer, not a black mask with a hole where I just cut.

Which OS are you working on?
Please try resetting your tools from Photo Bin flyout menu.
    1. Open Photo bin.
    2. Click on Fly Out menu
    3. Click on option Reset all Tools
    4. Relaunch Editor13
    and see if it helps.
    Thanks,

  • I Think It's Time That Verizon Opens Up Testing Of Updates & Firmware To The Windows Phone Community!!!

Waiting for Verizon to release updates on a reasonable time table has become a complete failure.  If you only have a couple technicians in house testing the 4-5 devices you only carry and it takes this long, there's a problem with your technicians.
If you don't want to allocate the time, money and resources to a platform that your sales reps never push or even mention in stores, or on your website or over the phone, I think it's time to either drop the line completely or turn to the Windows Phone Community to do your job for you.
I think it's time that Verizon takes a queue from Microsoft and opens up testing of updates and firmware to any and all Windows Phone Users that want to help the cause and better support the platform in the process.  You can have your legal department draft up a clause that releases Verizon of any liability if a user opts to test updates or firmware.
What else better than to have the Community help in the cause (in masses) over the limited few technicians you have in house testing out the updates and firmware.  You will get all the feedback you will need to make a proper decision as to push the updates or firmware or go back to Microsoft and make fixes to any/all bugs that are found.
In a technological age we live in, to not take advantage of a community of users who would be more than willing to test out products, goods, services, you are just shooting yourself in the foot.
If you look at the numbers of how many users signed up to be part of Microsoft's Developer Preview app, you will see that there are millions of users willing to take the risk in order to help the cause while being a part of the testing process, making the platform better in the long run.
It's time for change, it's time to embrace the community, it's time to respond at let the community know one way or another if we are going to get updates and firmware in a timely manner... and not just one update or firmware in a year cycle.
Windows (9) is going to be released to the general public as Technical Preview on September 30, and you can guarantee that millions of users are going to download the OS and test it out and submit feedback via the OS and Microsoft's Community Forum in order to make it a success...  So why don't you Verizon do the same and open up beta testing of updates and firmware to the Windows Phone Community here!!!
Think about it, take a poll... but do something, one way or another... It's time to stop keeping us paying customers in the dark regarding updates and firmware that improves the experience, enhances our devices and provides the security that we need for our phones.  If you take good care of us, we will continue to be customers, renew our contracts or even sign up for Verizon Edge Accounts.
But if you keep us in the dark, you can guarantee that you will get customers leaving when there contracts are up because Windows Phone Users are loyal to Windows Phone... PERIOD!!!
Waiting for Tidbits and Elector to grace my post with there constant negativity and start a war of words as usual... since they love stirring the pot and angering the Windows Phone Community every time they reply to posts.  I just can't believe they spend that much time here on the forums replying if they are not a paid Verizon employee or a paid basher from a competing platform.

Well I found nothing wrong in your post. So why even make a statement like the quote I included?
Once more I am a retired government employee. So I have the time to post. Or has my rights been taken away to voice an opinion?
Your posts was great you were not whining about your rights to file complaints to the FCC or FTC etc. One of the best I have read.
And I am not trying to sway you from your phone choice. If you looked at my avitar it shows apple iphones. But I use and have used androids and not Windows phones.
However your numbers of windows phone users all leaving over the issue is miniscule in the number of users of Android and iOS devices.
I have written many times I wish all the devices get updated like iOS devices do. But at present that is not happening
No bashing, no adversarial post just a little common sense is all I use.
And again your post was great.
    Good Luck

I would like to install the newest version of Acrobat Adobe into 6 computers. I wonder what tha will cost, for a month and to buy it directly? On one computer we have version 9, and that one we would like to uppgrade to the latest version?

    Hi Linafrick,
To install Acrobat 11 on to 6 computers you can purchase Volume License.
But since you want it for only a month you need to purchase Acrobat subscription.
A single subscription is good for 2 computers and the same Adobe ID cannot be used to buy multiple subscription copies of Acrobat.
You can however opt for Creative Cloud for Team license such that you can become the Admin and grant access to the 6 users who wish to install Acrobat on their machines.

  • How to make a text becoming more and more visible?

Maybe I didn't use google well, but I didn't find anything in the internet what could solve my question.
I basically want to work with a white background, where a text is on which becomes more and more visible the more it comes closer to the bottom. The tricky thing is, it's for a website, so it has to be responsive for smartphones or tablets for example (first idea: put the white background layer to the front like it makes the text behind it more and more visible/invisible?). Any ideas how to solve that? Would be so great to know.

I'm not sure what it means to "be responsive for smartphones or tablets"...  People put complex graphics on those things all the time.  They have unprecedented power.
Photoshop can help you do what you're describing.  What you want is no more complex than putting a gradient mask on a layer so as to create partial transparency.  You could have fading text (as a graphic) or a fading solid color fill that would overlay text rendered by a browser.
    Just some graphic ideas...
Save as a PNG-24 to get partial transparency that a browser can render.

  • My mac become more slower after update to Mountainlion

My mac become more slower after update to Mountainlion
What shoudl I do? can you guys help me? BTW I have update my RAM to 8G
    Thank you

    What is your Mac?
What did you update from? 10.6 or 10.7?
If from 10.6 or your machine was at 10.5 at one time, it might be too old/slow for 10.8, you might want to revert to 10.6 again.
How to revert your Mac to Snow Leopard
What do you notice is slower than before? Like Internet or booting or loading programs or UI feel or what exactly?
If it's the Internet, then check this out
    WiFi, Internet problems, possible solutions
WiFi security issues, at home and WiFi hotspots
Now a fresh install of OS X usually does wonders, this would mean you will need to take acurate account of your installed programs, passwords, export bookmarks and backup all your data to a external storage drive. Keep the boot drive data below 50% filled ideally, (not much for you apprantly, just reduce 50GB of data)
    Most commonly used backup methods
Write down your AppleID and password to reinstall 10.8
When your sure, then hold command r boot into Recovery, use Disk Utility to Erase (middle selection) the Macintosh HD partition and wait, it's going to map off fialing sectors. When done quit and reinstall 10.8 fresh and install programs and files from backup into the same named accounts.

That should make things zippy again. Also a #12 OnyX cache cleaning routine
Step by Step to fix your Mac
Another method is this, it's a defragging/performance speed up step, you won't have to reset everything up again from scracth like a fresh install method does. But it requires paid software and a external drive, but makes a excellent bootable backup in the process that can save your behind one day.
