It doesn't react at all

My OS is Windows 7 and I had just recently installed Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 as bundle. Both worked very well, until I installed the first update, after which my speakers stopped working. Uninstalling didn't help so I set my OS back to a date prior to the installation, alas without logging off first.
To day I installed both Elements again. I could open Photoshop, log off and log on again, enter my serial number yet again and work with the program. Everything is fine with Photoshop. I tried the same with premiere, it just won't open up although I had entered the serial number during the installation. When I double clicked on the symbol, it opened up, but wouldn't react to opening an new project. Now double clicking on the symbol doesn't even open up. I have no way of logging off and logging on. I just can't get into premiere to do anything at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times without any succes.
Where do I go from here? Does anybody know?

Could you right click on Computer, select Manage, and then Event Manager.
In the Event Manager, click on Windows Logs and then Applications.
Look for Error entry at the time of that you had the problem. Do you have any Error entries for Premiere Elements?
Also, with regard to the Premiere Elements process, please confirm how far you get in the process...
a. after the installation process has gone to completion, there is a restart.
b. after the restart, you will get to a Sign In dialog that you must fill in with your Adobe ID and Password....are your Adobe ID and Password accepted to let you into the program? What happens next.
An uninstall, ccleaner, reinstall may be in order. SG has already mention the uninstall/reinstall routine. But, before you try that, try deleting the Premiere Elements 12 Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit in the path
Local Disk C

and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. Make sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you see the complete path.
ccleaner

say Yes when requested to backup up registry when you get to that important section
Please read all details in the link. It is an important tool to getting rid of incomplete installation leftovers.

  • JClient status bar doesn't react to some panels?

    Hi,
    JClient 9.0.5.2/10.1.2beta
    The status bar doesn't react to all data bound panels in a same binding context?
    I have a main form with a tabbed panel.
    Each tab panel is composed of ADF bound panels.
    All those bound panels receive their Binding Context from the main form.
    Everything works fine:
    - all navigation bars are synchronized
    - all master-detail relations are respected
    Except the status bar.
    In some panels the status bar doesn't react to navigation or when an editable field has focus.
    Examples:
    The 2 first panels are based on the same ViewObject/iterator.
    The first panel is based on a table template, the second on a single record template.
    The status bar works for the first panel but not for the second?
    The status bar doesn't react to the third panel events:
    on this panel all navigation bar buttons are disabled except the transaction buttons.
    The ViewObject is a detail of a master ViewObject in a different panel (in the master panel the status bar works fine)?
    The API says:
    When a dataItemName is specified, it tracks the status of the rowset to which it is bound; otherwise, it tracks the status of the data bound control (Rowset) which currently has the focus.
    In my case in the main form I didn't specify the dataItemName.
    I tought that the status bar management was implicit => all data bound events in a same BindingContext are displayed by the status bar.
    In some cases it doesn't seem to be true.
    To make it work should I change the model of the status bar?
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Fred

    SOLUTION I FOUND:
    I noticed in the XML files of the panels that didn't react, the main iterator wasn't first in the list.
    I moved those iterator definitions to the beginning of the their XML file and after that, the status bar works as expected.
    I found this by tracing the iterator bindings of each panelBinding.
    I wrote a little method in the main form for this purpose.
    Let's say you have following panel reference in your main form.
    private PanelEmpVO1 panelEmp = new PanelEmpVO1();
    After setting the binding context of this panel, you call the method:
    printPanelIterBindingList(panelEmp.getPanelBinding(),"panelEmp");
    The method:
    public void printPanelIterBindingList(String panelName, JUPanelBinding jpb)
    ArrayList ibl = jpb.getIterBindingList();
    System.out.println("printPanelIterBindingList BEGIN, panelName: "+panelName);
    for (int i = 0; i < ibl.size(); i++)
    Object ob = ibl.get(i);
    if (ob instanceof JUIteratorBinding)
    System.out.println("iterBindingList, panelName: "+panelName+", JUIteratorBinding: i = "+i+", name = "+((JUIteratorBinding)ob).getName()+", VOName: "+((JUIteratorBinding)ob).getVOName()
    +", BindingContainer name : "+((JUIteratorBinding)ob).getBindingContainer().getName());
    else
    if (ob instanceof DCIteratorBinding)
    System.out.println("iterBindingList, panelName: "+panelName+", DCIteratorBinding: i = "+i+", name = "+((JUIteratorBinding)ob).getName()+", VOName: "+((JUIteratorBinding)ob).getVOName());
    else
    System.out.println("iterBindingList, panelName: "+panelName+", unknown object: i = "+i+", object class name = "+ob.getClass().getName());
    Remark:
    For master-detail panels, you must get the panelBinding of each panel.

    Frederic

  • IPad2 crashed, won't react at all

    Hi,
    My iPad2 crashed when I was watching pictures on my photostream. The Apple logo appeared, but the only thing I could do was to turn him off with both buttons pushed in for about 10 seconds.
    Now he doesn't react at all.
    Thanks for your help!
    Skepperken

    Could you have completely drained your battery?
    Plug the iPad into the charger that came with it and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it alone for at least an hour. Then while it is still plugged in reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.

  • C6 menu button doesn't react

    Most of the time, menu button deosn't react at all, no matter hom many times I press it, in home screen mode, and it takes more then 10 seconds to press and hold for multitask menu to appear.
    I already have the latest software installed.
    Help anybody ?

    I have restored factory settings, the process went all the way trough, but it didn't solve the problem... I had no applications running in the background, or 3rd party themes, so i guess it's the hardwear issue. As I was afraid, I'm gonna have to take it for repair...
    Intrestingly, the same situation is with the green button... Only the red one is vivid and reacts in a matter  of second..
    The green one either doesn't react at all, or reacts once in a ten presses.
    As for GPRS, GPS, WiFi, camera, speakers, keyboard, everything works just perfect..
    I'll report probably in two weaks, since that's the amount of time it usually takes for service in Serbia...
    Damn it !
    Thank you anyway !

  • How can I reset a locked ipad that doesn't react anymore?

    Hey guys!
    i have a problem:
    Yesterday all of a sudden my iPad didn't work properly anymore. At first it was flashing ins stripes with different colours. I tried to fix it by shutting the iPad down, but since it was flashing to much it was not possible to click on "shut down". Therefore i just locked it.
    After a while I wanted to try again, but as i pressed the home button, the screen got a little lighter, but it didn't turn completely on. (The screen was almost black and you couldn't see any buttons or anything else). And now it even stays completely black and doesn't react to anything anymore.
    I wanted to reset the iPad to get to know if it's a hardware or a software problem, but it is locked with a code and since it's not reacting anymore i can't enter it.
    By now I've also never synchronised my iPad with my computer.
    What can I do? Does anyone have an advice for me?
    How can I reset my iPad without entering the Code in the iPad itself?
    Thank you for your help everybody!

    Hopefully you should be able to reset your iPad, therefore try this: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    The Apple logo ought to appear after about 10 seconds.
    If you don't see the Apple logo, then this could be bad news.
    Normally, the following instructions will resolve a forgotten passcode:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
    But if you can't see anything on the screen, then it's bad news again.
    If you have never synced your iPad with iTunes nor with iCloud, then you won't have a backup of your iPad either. Yes, more bad news, because the data on your iPad is most likely lost.
    Try to get at least some life back into your iPad in order to save the data of your device via a backup.
    Good luck!

  • My screen doesn't react what i order

    I have bought the ipad 2 for almost 1 year, but 3 months ago, my ipad doesn't react what i order at all, so i send it to the repairing store, however, they told me that their are little tiny teeny hole on the frame of it so that they won't be responsible for it....Actually , i have found some direction of requirement of pad repairing, which means they can receive the hole less than 4mm that my pad agree to... what could i do?

    The iPhone 4 is doscontinued. It' can't be "brand new".
    Hold down the power and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo on the screen. It should take about 20 seconds or so.  If you get no response from that, make an appointment at the genius bar and have them look at it.

  • Capture now doesn't react

    I'm using an oldfashioned SONY HVR-A1E recording on tapes and I've used Final Cut Express with Capture / Now for some time and it worked fine. I always had problems using Log and Transfer, it just couldn't find my camera (there was nothing in the preview window). I can't locate my camera anywhere on my mac. I'm connecting my camera via a firewire to an external harddisk, which is connected to my Mac - it worked with Capture / Now before, but could that be the problem?
    For some reason the NOW button just doesn't react when I open Capture. I can't seem to recall doing anything differently. It would be nice if I could get the log and transfer to work by locating my camera - but at the very least just get the NOW button in the capture window to again - hope anyone can help ;o)

    Thanks for your quick reply
    My camera is set for DVsp and it says DVin iLINK on the display of the camera - when I plug the firewire cable.
    I've set the Easy Setup in FCE at (format) PAL and (use) DV-pal (I'm in Europe, but I'm using my material for web, so if other formats work better it could be different). I've tried different options within all formats and HDV doesn't respond at all so I guess DV is the right format for the recording on my camera.
    I can se and hear my recordings in the capture preview window but the NOW button just doesn't respond. When I try to set the timecodes to capture a minute - (for instance from 00:38:42:00 to 00:39:42:00) the in- and out timecodes just align to the end point (from 00:39:42:00 to 00:39:42:00) using the button CLIP it doesn't capture anything.
    Very frustrating. Now I'm just capturing my footage via iMovie and importing it to FCE, but I wish this could be solved.

    Oh Guten Tag.
    If your Home Button works, you should be able to reset - press the Home and Main button at the same time for 15 sec. Then press the main button for 2sec to have it restart.
    Do what I said earlier:
    I would advice you to go to the link I sent you above: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do and ask for an exception.
    I don't promise that they'll change it but they may, mainly if the problem of the Home Button is going on since more than half a year (still within the one year warranty) and you just explain that you did not know that you could have changed it at the time and now it's completely dead.
    If you really want to recover all your stuff and are living in the US, you should go to the nearest Genius bar and see what they can do.

  • Mouse and Keyboard doesn't reacts on Windows

    Hi,
    I have installed Windows on my iMac, but now i have the problem, that when i boot using Windows, my mouse and my keyboard doesn't react...
    I have tried it with my wireless Apple Keyboard, my wired Apple keyboard, my Logitech Mouse and with my Apple Magic Mouse. But if I move the mouse, the cursor on the screen doesn't moves.
    I have installed all drivers from the WININSTALL-Drive, created while installing windows and I also downloaded the drivers from the Apple Homepage.
    If I start Windows in safe mode, the mouse and the keyboard reacts!
    Do you have any ideas, how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks iComputerfreak
    Sorry for my bad english, I'm german

    BootCamp 5.1.0.

    Hey tatts and Welcome to Apple Discussions,
    Well first try booting from your restore disk or a retail installer. If you still have a problem there try resetting PRAM and NVRAM:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    esp the part about open firmware.
    If none of that works you might have a capacitor problem even tho' you're not on the list. I had 2 eMacs that were in the shop with similar problems and both were repaired on recall.

  • My new iPhone 4 doesn't work at all

    You are definitely not alone with your issues. I'm on my second iPhone 4 unit, and am still having the same problems. I've had proximity sensor insanity, battery draining after 8 hours of stand-by (NO USE, just sleeping) to the point that my phone goes into a coma and has to be plugged in to be revived, the grip of death dropping calls....
    But the single most irritating and infuriating problem is the signal strength/reception fluctuation. I share a house with two iPhone 3Gs users, and I had an original silverback iphone until July 2010. They all work fantastically well with no issues when I'm at home (where I am just about 24/7, since I work from home). *_My new iPhone 4 doesn't work at all.*_. Signal strength is all over the place. I did a test where I sat watching the bars showing signal strength for five minutes. In that time, I saw it switch from E (edge?) with full bars to 3G with full bars to 3G with 1 bar to 2 bars to 4 bars to 1 bar to "Searching." Then back to 3G, with degradation of bars from 3 to none, then E network appears again, this time with full strength. This all with the phone sitting on a table, not being touched by human hands.
    It seems that my iPhone is constantly switching actual physical networks, and as a result signal strength is all over the place from one 30 second period of time to the next. This drains the battery like crazy, and means that all incoming calls go to voicemail--usually without my phone ever ringing.
    The 3G phones in my house work great. The 1st G iPhone I have had since the week it came out worked great (though its battery doesn't hold much of a charge anymore, after three years). On my new IP4, games are awesome. The videos and photos are amazingly clear and high quality, and editing on the phone is out of sight. iPhone Apps rule. MobileMe syncs my contacts quickly and easy. The only thing I love more than the iP4 features is my iPad--it rocks.
    Everything works on my IP4 at home BUT THE ACTUAL TELEPHONE FUNCTIONS. This is unacceptable. In late August, after two weeks in which I had 4 minutes of phone use, the nice folks at the Apple store switched me to a new phone, no questions asked. The phone worked so much better, I could send texts and place calls most of the time (this was now the first part of September)...except that now that I was using my IP4 to make phone calls, I started having a problem with the proximity sensor during those calls. I'd be talking and my cheek would mute the phone, turn on speaker, open contacts and edit info (with gobbledygook), and of course, hang up on people.
    So around Sept. 18 I was told by Apple phone support to update to iOS 4.2, restore as new, and do two complete power up and drain down cycles. This would fix the proximity sensor and any other issues.
    Well, I would love to see if iOS 4.2 actually did fix the PS, but I can't get the signal strength to stabilize long enough to have an actual phone conversation. I'm back to watching the signal strength go up and down at random (with me touching/holding it carefully to avoid grip of death, and also when I leave phone on the table with screen lock off --no touching). It is back to switching between E network and 3G and varying strengths of wi-fi from my home network. This eats up battery from 100% to low enough to turn off in under 10 hours of standby (usually 6-7). Essentially, my IP4 is back to being unusable as a phone.
    So I did another long, involved call to Apple tech support on 9/18. They tell me that I have to turn off wi-fi, turn off 3G, turn off push/fetch and notifications, shut all apps (no multi-tasking) and do everything but switch my phone to airplane mode--and see if the battery holds up for 24 hours in standby. If that didn't work, I should restore from new, but not load any contacts or network or data or anything--just leave it as it would be out of the box new.
    As a test, I turned everything off as advised: 3G, wi-fi, push, etc. Now my battery life is back to normal, where I can have the IP4 on stand-by for up to two full days before needing a recharge. Fabulous. BUT IT'S NOT A SMART PHONE if I have to turn off 3G, turn off wireless, and not use email push and so forth.
    I'm so frustrated I could scream. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that there is a significant flaw in the new iPhone. Or perhaps it is just an issue for iPhone 4 users in areas where the signal strength is marginal, or where there are two types of overlapping network coverage (E and 3G in my case). I know that the networks themselves are in good condition--though I'm in a semi-rural area, the state capital is 4 miles away, and I know they have a new tower and good coverage for the politicians and power brokers around town. The phone coverage area I live in has Edge network in the south part of the network area and 3G in the north part, which is the state capital. I'm right in between. Could this be the problem? AT&T says no, it's Apple's fault.

    So what to do besides complain? Troubleshoot?
    I just wonder if all of us who have had chronic signal strength and "Searching for network" issues that totally drain the battery might have something in common, despite being all over the world? I'm using wi-fi 95% of the time, and live in a semi-rural area with overlapping networks run by same carrier. Apple folks hinted that maybe in my area the network usage is nearing capacity (resulting in getting kicked off of 3G and down to E as new calls are placed that strain capacity). They also hinted there could be interference from mountains or other objects. But here's the thing--3G phones work fine, and my IP4 works fine when I'm away from home, usually in the capital city on strong 3G network. (When I say "works fine I mean the signal is good and calls go through, I haven't tested battery drain away from home yet).
    I have to conclude that the problem is the IP4 itself--something about the hardware or the software (namely, the way it connects to the phone network) is horribly wrong. Other folks who live in urban areas or with strong networks that (likely) aren't over-utilized don't seem to have this issue. After reading through these pages, it also seems the wi-fi may be a major culprit in draining the battery and in varying signal strength (this is from Apple phone support, which said that varying signal strength and the constant pinging off the home wi-fi is creating a "power struggle" and keeping the phone constantly looking for the best connection option). Mind you, 3G iphones on the same home network have no problems whatsoever.
    So while I'm not a technical expert, it seems like the problem HAS to lie in the differences in the way the IP4 connects to the cellular and/or wi-fi network. And since the connection/signal strength problem was "resolved" on my replacement phone, but then "broken" again by the software update of iOS 4.2, I'm leaning toward this being a software issue. I've offered to help Apple troubleshoot, and I'm trying to be patient--because the IP4 is a work of art and I've never had an issue with an Apple product before. But all they want me to do is restore, restore, reload, restore, and then drive 1 hour to the nearest Apple store (in Reno, NV) and get a new phone...and start the whole process over again. I don't have time for this, I need my phone back.
    I'm this close to trading in my beautiful but flawed IP4 for a 3G. Maybe I should just get a new battery for my original iPhone from 2007?
    I understand that Apple can't test for every possible variable of use all over the world, but they don't even seem to acknowledge that they have a problem with the IP4 that will not be resolved by replacing it with a new unit. They want me to believe it's a fluke, or it's just me...but I've been combing these threads and see a lot of people reporting the same issues I am--battery drain and wildly fluctuating signal strength issues, wi-fi problems, and dropped calls. Can't someone get on this? Because otherwise Apple is going to have to admit that their IP4 is not a good solution for people who live in areas of less than perfect signal strength or use wifi or whatever demonic combo I have in my home/work setting.
    Or people will have to do what I have done--if you who want the cool IP4 non-phone features, you will have to dumb down your IP4 in order to have it be even moderately useful as *a phone.* For $599 I expected better.
    My (temporary) workaround?
    To spare the battery:
    *Turn off wi-fi (which *****, because now I have to burn minutes when I'm at work using the email, downloads, safari, etc--and it's E network, so it's SLLOOOOOOOW)
    *turn off push and fetch, have mail get new messages manually
    *turn off data roaming
    To keep the signal somewhat stable (making it easier to complete calls and spare battery)
    *Turn off 3G (this leaves me on E network--fabulous, I had that with my 3 year old iPhone)
    *grip IP4 between two fingers placed at the top of the phone, away from death zone. Tough for us lefty phone users.
    *pray the free bumper will a) come soon and b) help. I'm not optimistic.
    To keep proximity sensor from going nuts and dropping calls, muting, turning on speaker etc:
    *use headset or bluetooth (unless you are also having one of the known bluetooth issues!)
    *keep phone pressed to one ear and don't move it a millimeter. Don't shift sides, don't hold phone with your shoulder, just keep it to one ear and talk fast).
    I'm about out of patience. I understand that lots of folks have and love their IP4s. I'd love to be one of those people. I'm open to suggestions and have spent many hours on phone with tech support, restoring my phone, reloading data and apps--there has to be a better way.
    Sorry for the thread-jacking, but someone from Apple has got to be following these threads--help us!

    If it's in Color, then you will have to open the scan in a Raster editing software (like Photoshop) and play with the Brightness/Contrast settings to make the lines bolder.
