It's going to take 1 month to move my phone!!

We have just contacted BT and we have been told that it will take one month to move our phone - this is a move of 1/2 mile? We own both properties. How can this be done any quicker? Apparently Outreach are to blame?
Very frustrating. How can this be done quicker? The website says give a min of 14 days but elsewhere " we can do this in 5 days"!

I expect you mean Openreach. They are totally overloaded with work due to the rain, which is getting in everywhere.
Openreach provide and maintain the external network to all the service providers, so everyone is in the same boat, which is slowly sinking

Going away for a month with no Macbook

So, I'm going away for a month to Scotland/Europe and not able to take my Macbook Pro (13", late 2010 model, snow Leopard 10.6.8) because last time I took it, it broke and had to be fixed and I was only able to cause it was under warranty. So, I'm going to shut my Macbook down and I've heard things like put the battery down to 50% or whatever. I want to come back to this working cause I'm afraid to take it with me incase it breaks, though I'm pretty sure it broke cause I accidentally left it on sleep for 2 weeks, but is there anything special I should do or will me shutting it down at 100% battery be enough? Thanks!

Ideally, a place where it is room temperature (68º to 75º F.) If you have air conditioning then set the AC temp to around 80º. That's what I set mine at when we are gone for long periods of time. Seems to be OK for all of my computers including several notebooks. Modify accordingly if you away during the winter months. If your home is not air conditioned (my condolences ) then some place dark is usually good.
Apple's recommendation for storage is
Storage temperature: –13° to 113° F (–24° to 45° C)
So, if you keep within those extremes you should be OK.

Look at the AT&T VVM User Guide for help setting up your visual voice mail.
If you still have problems, contact AT&T Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500 and ask them to check that your account is provisioned for an iPhone 4.

The warranty for the iPhone is not and has never been International.
Warranty and support are ONLY valid in the country of origin. The only exception is the EU where the entire EU is treated as one country.
If the device will be used in India, buy it in India.
An unlocked iPhone will work on any supported GSM carrier world wide. The LTE portion of a US purchased, unlocked iPhone is unlikely to work outside North America as it does not support the appropriate bands used in other countries.

You'll have to wait till it downloads much further than. If your download says it will take 14 hours to download, you have a very slow connection. You would never be able to watch the movie until it downloads completly.

My unibody macbook (latest 2010 model) wont connect to my home wifi. When it does which is rare, it is very slow. I have tried everything from renewing DCHP lease and such. This has been going on for two months.

It will not connect but my other apple devices can connect and the wifi works very well. I have moved houses to my house wifi isnt the same as the old one. Also, i have to type in the password every time even if i click autosave. Sometimes it also says invalid password or connection timeout. This has been going on for two months and is getting really annoying. I've tried most of the solutions listed on other discussions, none of them work. Any other tips? Thank you. It's called, "FileVault." If there is no option to stop the process, then the best bet would be to wait until decrypting is finished. Otherwise you run the risk of borking the whole thing. It's hard to imagine how you can accidentally turn off FileVault.

You may want to look at Knowledge Base Document #58042 on A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac.
Do you have access to another Mac? You may want to backing up your files via Target Disk Mode (TDM) as well as running some utilities (Knowledge Base Document #58583 on How to use FireWire target disk mode.
You may want to invest in a utility like DiskWarrior from Alsoft. It is great for troubleshooting drive malfunctions.
As said before, you may also want to bring your iBook to your local Apple Store/Reseller.

I like iPhoto for its features and ease of use; however, I'm unclear on its privacy policy.
When using iPhoto to buy photo books, is Apple going to take ownership of my photographic material?
Can Apple use my pictures to advertise Apple products or services?
I've asked these questions twice to the apple privacy postmaster, but they only reply with a boiler plate of links to get further support or they simply ignore my email. Should I assume the worse?
I like iPhoto, but I'm not going to use it if I don't know that my privacy is satisfactorily safeguarded.

If you have backed up your iPhone regularly you can Restore your iPhone in iTunes from your backup and retrieve them.

Complete rubbish
Apple do not lock iPhones
Carriers do because they have subsidised the purchase price
and therefore only the carrier can unlock an iPhone
Orange have decided to apply 6 months to protect their revenue
they never have been the fastest to unlock

Following instructions-connected to wi-fi, plugged into PC & locked the phone (though never had any problems like this before), but still no difference. Any ideas/similar problems?

unfortunately there are tons of people with this issue but Apple has not given any answers for us to fix this issue yet. I wish they would allocate more people to solving these problems when they roll out new versions of itunes along with new hardware.
