Item - OnHold / Valid - lock for new production orders

Hi
I am looking for a way to lock an item (with its BOM) for new production orders so that users can not add new production orders for this item until it has been unlocked by the responsible person (BOM needs to be checked by the responsible first).
However, it should still be possible to use (issue/receipt) this item in already existing production orders.
It should affect adding of new production orders only.
btw.: is there any difference in effect between OnHold and Valid settings for an item except for its inverted logic regarding the dates to set?
Thanks
Franz

Hi!
It is not possible to do this with ONHOLD or VALID field.
Try to use Stored Procedure or FMS.
If u use SP, write code like Block Adding Production Orders with X Item
If u use FMS, add a new UDF in Prod.Order row level which should be mandatory. Give Y as a Default Value for tht UDF.
Write a FMS like, Check the Current Line Item Code if it is X Item then make the UDF NULL else Default Value. This will block adding Production Order with X Item

  • Error Message for new production order type

I have created a new production order type and gone through all the configuration requirements that I'm aware of.  In testing this new order type, I get an error message in transacion CO02 when selecting the printer icon. The error is as follows:
No reference document type defined for order type ZRWK
    Message no. CO179
ZRWK being the new order type.
I've searched through many posts and found nothing relating to this message.  Hopefully someone has encounted this before.
I'm sure I've missed something, but can't pinpoint what it is.
    Help is greatly appreciated.

Bob, did you check your print parameters?..Maybe you don't have your sap forms..You can check it with Tx. COPI
The path is Print - Print Settings - Configuration Menu.

  • Finding Soln. to initialise total number of pages for new production order

    Hi Experts,
My internal table has details of Production Order which has to be printed in a smartform. The page numbers has to be initialised i.e both SFSY-PAGEand SFSY-FORMPAGES each time when it prints a new production Order.
    Example :
Say Production Order 1 is populating in 4 Pages it should display
    1 of 4
    2 of 4
    3 of 4
    4 of 4
and for the 2nd Production Order say it Occupies 2 pages page number should be initialized and displayed as
    1 of 2
    2 of 2
One solution i found is having the smartform inside a loop and passing details of one production order at a time but i dont want to use it as i might be lead to performance issue.
Kindly suggest me a Solution where i passed my internal table once to the smartform and get the output.

  • Strategy 82----How to stop creation of New Production Order

    Hi All,
My client is facing problem with the material which having Strategy 82- Assembly to Order,  As when they make a sales order  , w,.r.t that a Production order is made automatically by system,. User complete the production process and deliver this material , now when ever the Sales user change "Credit Block: in that particular sales order again a New production order created to this sales order, How to control his creation of new Production order? As if new production Order create it brakes the link between Sales order and the previous Production order which is already in delivered status.
Your Prompt response will be appreciated.

    HI ,
I am closing this thread , as I know how to got a control on trhis, As of behaviour, startegy 82 says every time u change in sales order it will create a new Production order during saving, if the previous order is not been in ONLY REL status.   So the only option to control this is in S.O ,change the Item category to "CN" i.e NO MRP when if required there has been any modification to S .O.  In std SAP system item catageory has to be congiured , in SPRO SALES we can do the necessary settings.

  • Period is locked for new data

    Good Morning,
    Anyone get this error before?
-4013:Period is locked for new data
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SBOObjects.SBOOrder.NetPointToSBOOrder(NPOrder order)
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SBOObjects.SBOOrder.NetPointToSBO(NPQueueObject qData)
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SynchObjectBase.Synch()
Haven't received it before today, of course, the day we go live.  The period we are posting to is not locked for new data and it seems to be limited to one customer only...  Any immediate thoughts?
    Thanks so much,
    Kristen

OK, I have it working for the moment, but I am very curious about this.  I went back in and selected the Install Plugin button 2 more times just to be sure, I restarted everything and they went through fine.  Could it be that the Plugin installed partially before?  It didn't seem so because other orders were flowing both ways and just certain ones were seeming to get stuck...  Then more gradually started failing until none were passing through.  This has been working seemlessly in this environment for weeks until of course go live today, so I am at a loss.  Probably just that one piece of excitement for Go Live that we were missing.  All is well.  James, thanks for responding.

  • Techniques for New Product Introduction in Demantra 7.3.0.1

    Hi,
In Demantra 7.3.0.1 there are two ways for New Product Introduction:-
    1) Demand Planner: Member & chaining management
    2) Collaborative Workbench: Create Similar product
Can someone please tell me the pros and cons of each technique.
The new product introduction will be handled by our clients, so I wanted to know if all the required features can be handled by just one method so we can propose that to be used by the client. Or do we need to use both techniques for different scenarios?
As I understand with Chaining one can link one item to many sites at one go, while with CW the similar item is created linked to one particular location.
Also CW allows for adding cannibalization factor which is not accounted for in chaining.
Apart from this it would be really helpful if someone could throw some more light on the issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi Gaurav,
I personally feel that 'Create Similar product' is a much required improvement over the original way of NPI using Member & Chaining Management.
Also with CW as well, a new and similar item created can also be linked to multiple location, same as Source Item, depending on the filters used in the Worksheet from which the create similar product is invoked.
some of the PROS and CONS of the 2 methods are as follows:
Demand Planner: Member & chaining management
Pros: 1) Can be used to specify the time range for copying the history date.
    2) Can be used to specify the Percentage by which the source data needs to be adjusted while copying into the target combination
    3) An important feature is that this can be used to do chaining at an aggregated level.
Cons: 1) It takes a long time to setup a New Member, combination and Chaining relationship.
         2) High User involvement since user has to perform muliptle tasks and more error prone.
    Collaborative Workbench: Create Similar product
    Pros: 1) User-friendly
    2) Users needs to enter a few datapoints in single form and does not need to navigate through multiple forms/screens
    3) Ability to specify Cannibalization parameters as well as Launch dates
    4) Good performance.
    5) Ongoing Chaining
    6) When coupled with features like 'End of Lifecycle date', it provides a complete Business solution
Cons: 1) Can not be used for only performing Chaining.
    2) While it can be used to create a New Similar Product, it cannot be used to create a new similar Customer based on an existing item-location combination data. This, though, may not be a very common scenario.
    3) Apart from copying other Item attributes, the method also copies the same 'Item Description' level from source to the new similar product, which sometimes can be very confusing.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Rohit Goyal

  • Budgeting for CO production order

From KOT2 we can see budget profile exists for CO production order type CP01 and CP02.
But it is not allowed to use KO22 to enter budget amount.
Can anybody tell me how to set budget for CO production order?
    Thanks~

    Hi Ajay.
The reason why we want to control cost of production order is because there are too many subcontract items.
Sometimes works can be done within a plant are contracted outside.
Because there is no BOM or routing for a particular product,
we have to use CO production order instead of PP production order.
Planning on the order is also not possible.
That's why we want to set a budget to limit the use of subcontracting and also control production costs.
If Project System is activated, budgeting can be used on CO production order.
Since we are not using PS, we have to use internal order to collect subcontract related costs.
    Best regards,
    Sharon

  • Re-packaging in Sales Process - Use of Packg Mat. for next production Order

    Dear All,
We will combine 7 diferent products under Semi-finished goods ( that means we no need shipping box, shipping box lable for 7 mentioned products) into one shipping box and we call the last one is MMR Compo-packs. Theoretically, we have to produce 7 diferent products before we combine them into the last one. However, some of 7 diferent products have been keeping in stock under finished goods (FGs).
That means they used the shipping box & shipping box label already so that  we want to unpack these FGs to make the MMR compo-packs and re-used the shipping box & shipping box label for the next production process order.
So, the question like that can we reverse the shipping box & the shipping box label when we convert the FGs to the semi finished goods in system?
Please guide us on the same. Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Maheshaa

    Hi,
If in the process of manufacturing and packing the FG you used a production order to consume both the SFG and the box, you could reverse this process by reversing the confirmations/goods movements in the production order (in the case that the orders are still open). This way you get back in stock your SFGs and boxes, just the way you want.
However, if the production orders are closed already, then you need a new production order (special case) to dismantle the FG into SFG and box.

    Mario

  • In house mfgd. raw materials for a production order- Cost capturing

    Hello Experts,
    The scenario is as below:
Client wants to manufacture in house some of the raw materials for a production order of sub assembly. These raw materials are made from scrap, with some manhours spent on it. After making them in house, these are handed over to stores for kit preparation.
The planner wants to create a stock of these materials (without making individual prod. orders since there are many of these). One option is, planner can do the cost centre issue reversal (202 movement). But the raw material cost is also getting captured in it from the material master.
From costing point of view, the cost of raw material should not be included since it is made from scrap. Only the cost of man hours spent is to be accounted for.
Please help as to how to map this scenario. For capturing cost of man hours spent, we can include a routing for it in the production order of the sub assembly. But how to eliminate or exclude the material cost. All inputs from your side are appreciated. Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Chetan.

    Hi Chetan,
Your scenario has some major issue.
    1. You cannot produce RAW material in SAP.
    2. The cost of material produced inhouse will be different than that of original RAW material.
    3. There will be some cost effect in the final finished product if you consider this inhouse produced material for product costing of finished goods.
We have similar scenario with my client and here is what I have implemented.
    1. Create a new HALB type part number for the inhouse manufactured RAW material. This will ensure that you assign Routing and BOM to same and can capture the COST for the same.
    2. Creating new material will enure that the product costing for inhouse produced RAW material is done.
    3. You can create single Production order for the same as you only have to capture cost. This depends on your Business scenario.
    4. Once you have inhouse produced raw material, you can create alternate BOM for the FINISHED Material with this new Part number in BOM.
    5. Create Production Version for the two BOM and ask Planner to select the Version 2 if he requires new part number in Production Order. I assume that this case would genrally appear in very small numbers.
    6. Now coming to product costing for final assembly. Since we are going to reuse scrap material to create the new part number, only activity cost and component cost will be used to determine cost. This cost will be less than that of RAW material cost.
So we always suggest our customer to consider OLD part number to determine the PRODUCT COST of final material. BUT business will have to take a call on this.
Do let me know if u need any thing else.

  • GI for every Operations, not for whole production order

    Hi,
I have assigned the components into operation and would like to do goods issue for every operations.
But MIGO or MB1A only do goods issue for whole production order, there is no selection fields for operation no.
How can I only do the good issue for production order by operations?
    thank you very much.
    Best Regards,
    John H

    Hi,
You can do goods issue for each operation using backflushing while confirming each operation.
In CA02 that is in routing go to component allocation select the components which you want to issue for certain operation and select new assignment. In new assignment select the operation.
In the same manner select the components which you want to issue and assignment it to operation.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Automatic Batch Determination is not happening for New Sales Order Type

    Dear Experts,
I have created a new sales order type ZBPY - For Free Sales, but automatic batch detrmination and batch pick up is not happening for new sales order type,  but it is activated for all the other sales order types in Production Server, can any body let me know the steps how to map this new order type to batch management and let it behave like other order types.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Saravanan(EKS).

    Hi Saravanan,
Kindly check the following steps for automatic batch determination.
    1. First check the material is maintained with batch in the warehouse management.
    2. Maintain new entry for search procedure for batch determination with the new created doc type.
    3. Maintain new entry for automatic batch determination for sales order or automatic batch determination for delivery ( This depends on the business process of our client, whether they want to determine the batch with sales order or at the delivery level. check this and make new entry)
    4. Create Batch using T.code MSC1N with proper date of manuf. and SLED.
    5. Create Batch Search Strategy using T.code VCH1 with proper strategy type.
    6. Maintain stock with active batch. check this with t.code LS26 or LS24.

  • Every time system create new production order after releasing sales order c

    Hi Guru,
FG material strategy: 82 (sales order creates production order).
After creating the sales order it goes in to credit block. Whenever we release sales order from credit block through VKM1, system has created production order. We confirmed this production order and delivered.
But after this sales person change the sales order value, because of which again sales order goes into the credit block and after releasing sales order from credit block system create new production order even if one production order already confirmed and delivered against the same sales order.
*Every time system create new production order after releasing sales order credit block.
    Thanx & regards
    pnu

    PNU,
    So, to restate:
In MD04, you have Unrestricted Sales order Stock ('E' Stock) on hand.
In the same MRP segment, and against the same Storage Location as the stock, you have a Sales Order requirement that was recently blocked and unblocked.
During the unblocking event, the system produced a new production order.
This is not normal.  If the above accurately depicts your situation, I would look for an altered Strategy 82, or a userexit.  SAP ATP (the beginning event of the Strat 82 process) will normally first check for the availability of stock.  Only if the stock is not available, then it will create the new production order.

  • GR  for a Production order to be controlled on actual /planned cost

    Hi,
When I do a GR for a production order I want to restrict the GR if my actual cost of materials consumed for the production order is less that 80 % of the planned cost of that production order. There is no provision for restricting the above.
When GR is done for a partial quantity of the production order, the system should consider and compare the GR quantity material cost against the same GR quantity Planned cost in the production order. If the GR quantity actual material value is less than 80% of the GR quantity material planned value, then the system should stop the GR to stores.
    Eg:
Production Order for 10 Units of material “X”
    BOM for “X” are Material “A”, “B” and “C”
    Planned quantity to manufacture 10 units of material “X” is: “A” – 10 unit, “B” – 10 Unit, “C” – 10 Unit
The planned value for the material BOM is : “A” – 100
                                  “B” – 75
                                  “C” – 25
Total Value to manufacture material “X” is Rs .200
    Case 1
If only 5 units are manufactured using the production order.
The GR to stores must be allowed only after the system check the total actual materials consumed in the production to produce 5 units exceeds 80% of the 5 units planned material cost.
Planned Material Value               Actual Material Value
    A. 510 = 50                         A. 59 = 4
    B. 57.5 = 37.5                         B. 56 = 30
    C. 52.5 = 12.5                         C. 52 = 10
Total planned material Value is Rs 100            Total actual material Value is Rs 85
The above case shows that the actual material consumed in the production order is more than 80% of the planned materials. So, the system should allow the GR to stores.
It should check only material cost only.
    Case 1I
If 10 units are manufactured using the production order.
The GR to stores must be allowed only after the system check the total actual materials consumed in the production to produce 10 units exceeds 80% of the 10 units planned material cost.
Planned Material Value                    Actual Material Value
    A. 1010 = 100                         A. 109 = 90
    B. 107.5 = 75                            B. 56 = 30
    C. 102.5 = 25                                     C. 52 = 10
Total planned material Value is Rs 200          Total actual material Value is Rs.130
The above case shows that the actual material consumed value in the production order is less than 80% of the planned materials. So, the system should not allow the GR to stores.
It should check only material cost only.
CAN ANY ONE SUGGEST ME ON THE ISSUE
    Regards
    Madan Mohan

    Madan,
Try using the userexit in enhancement MBCF0002.
    (A) Now the Planned cost can be calculated from the RESB table passing the Order no. For all the line items in RESB calculate the planned cost = Price * Qty.
    (B) For actual costs take it from AUFM for mvt type 261. The fields DMBTR will give you the value. Sum for all line items.
Now suppose the GR bing done now is 5. This you will get in the user exit. In the exit check from CAUFV whta was the GR already posted. Say this is 2. So the total GR is 5 + 2 = 7.
    Planned cost for 7 = (A) / Order Qty * 7
    Actual cost = (B)
Compare planned and actual and give yr message,

  • For a Production order - Operation wise Inspection Lot

    Hi Experts,
Please help me out to resolve the following problems.
    1. How can we create inspection lot for each operation for a production order?
If a production order has 10 operations, I will have to have 10 inspection lots for that order.
    2. I have a final assembly called A with components B & C. Some other material called D has similar characteristics of B.
But sometimes, for A, instead of B (if stock is not available), i want to use D also. Please note that, if B is not available, then
only, I will use D. Otherwise always B only, so we cannot go with probability.
How can we map this scenario? and MRP run also should consider D if B is not there.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Dear
    Answer Q1 : Go to SPRO > Production> Shop floor control> operations > confirmation> define confirmation parameters
    Maintain
1)Operation sequence u2013 error when operation sequence is not adhered to
    2) Over delivery u2013 Error when over delivery tolerance is exceeded
    3) Results Rec. (QM)- Error message if no Insp results exist
So what these setting helps is that  :
1)All operation has to be confirmed operation wise means 0010 has to be confirmed for confirming 0020 operation. SO production guys can only confirm 0040 operations only after 0030 operations is confirmed by quality personal.
2)Over delivery is not allowed means of in 0030 operation if only 50 quantity is confirmed in 0040 operation only 50 can be confirmed. Production people cannot confirm more than 50 quantities
    3) Also PP personal cannot confirm operation 0030 through C011N till the result recording of that operation is done through QA32.
4)Maintain Operation Control Key -PP01 with marked Inspection Character Marked -OPJ8  and maintain this Control Key for   those operation which are required for Inspection Lot .
Now For QM stand point , activate inspection type 03 and 04 in material master. For 03 type of inspection, you have to make routing in CA01. So when you release your production order, an inspection lot will be generated. This lot will not be stock relevant. This is just to check that you production is in accordance with quality norms. Only after clearing this lot from quality you can do your order confirmation, otherwise system will give hard error due to 3rd point of prev post.
For 04 type of inspections, prepare inspection plan in QP01. Now when order is confirmed, an inspection lot of 04 origin will be created in quality, and this is stock relevant and for final inspection of production order material.
If you need you can set for early inspection as well. That will give you another intermediate stage before final inspection. Inspection points are also an option if suites your requirement.
If you need more inspections, I suggest go for manual inspection lots of 04 origins, they are created in ref to order and are not stock relevant.
Q2 : Please explore this thread for options explained for Alternative Item selection .
    Alternate Item in BOM

  • When is reserving/preording available for new products?

When is reserving/preording available for new products? Is it annoucnement day or what? I'm planning on getting the iPad 3 as soon as it comes out, or as soon I can.

Nobody here can say for sure  - apple will announce on announcement day, and it will be well publicized. In recent years, the iPhone and iPad have not been available for ordering on announcement day, but apple could change that policy at any time.
