Iterative Development when using JSPX/JSFF in a Library?

Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 -
We have a WebCenter project that is utilizing a separate project that is compiled as a ADF Shared Library - to allow for reusable taskflows. We're trying to find a fast/convenient way of seeing changes to this shared library when the main weblogic project is deployed and running. When we save changes to the main project we can see those changes in the browser immediately after a refresh however the same does not happen for JSFF files in the shared lib. I was hoping there is a way to allow this feature or at the very least something else (such as manually copying files) that would be faster than what we are doing now (undeploy/redeploy).

Kernel panic when using external hard drive for library

Yes, but you need to have the external drive on and mounted when starting iTunes. You can add the external HD to your log in items list in System Preferences -> Accounts to handle this.

How to assign permissions to choice values when using content types in a library

I just now started using content types in document libraries instead of folder structure. The structure I was given is as follows:
Master group (library name)
L.A.
South Street
Number 1
Number 2
North Street
Number 1
Number 2
Boston
West Street
Number 1
Number 2
East street
Number 1
Number 2
India
North Street
Number 1
Number 2
West Street
Number 1
Number 2
So, I created a Content Type called Areas (which included LA, Boston, and India) and I created choice field values for each columns (South street and North street). Then, I gave the choice values as Number 1 and Number 2.
Now, the complexity was in terms of permission levels, wherein the client was accustomed to using folder structure. And hence, they had given a set to users to have access only to Number 1 of West street of Boston. Now that I have the content
type structure in place, how do I configure the granular permission for the 3rd level of the hierarchy?

Thanks for your post. I had already done this via Windows Explorer, and it works for all of the My Docs files
but not Acrobat files, which still come up in List View. I am running Windows XP still, is that a factor?

Classcast exceptins during iterative development

using Eclipse 3.4.2 and latest eclipselink
When doing a clean build and start the appserver, everything works fine.
Whenever , we do incremental builds and publish the application, we are getting ClassCast Exceptions in persistance classes.
is there any issue with iterative development and using eclipse link?

CDG-01281 occurs when using qmsolb50.olb in designer 6i

Hi,
We are migrating an application for a client. The application needs to be migrated to designer 6i and is currently build in designer 6.0. The client also uses headstart 50 libraries such the qmsolb50.olb. The problem is, when generating forms containing tab-pages and qmsolb50 as object library we get error CDG-01281: Forms binary file has not been created. But when using the standard Oracle object library is used (ofgwebol.olb) the form is generated but the layout is messed up.
What must we do to correctly use the qmsolb50 object library? Are we missing some entries? The form generates normally from designer 6.0 with the same qmsolb50.olb.

Pascal,
You might run into bug 1354393. This has to do with the fact that a previous version (headstart 6i beta patch 13)of the headstart object library block cgso$block contained an item qms$block_info.
When we deleted this item, we were able to generate the form with headstart object library as well.
Could you try to apply this workaround?

Found a much simpler workaround! In object library maintenance form
qmsolm65.fmb, set Visible property of cgso$block.qms$block_info to Yes. Then
re-create qmsolb65.olb object libary. Form will now generate.
Since this is the second problem we have found in Headstart related to having
a hidden item in cgso$block, for Headstart 6i I am eliminating this item.
In the meantime, use this workaround for Headstart 6i beta and for Patch 13.

Incorrect artwork on iPad 2 when using Homeshare

Since upgrading to iTunes 10.5.0.142 and IOS 5 - Random Artwork for both TV Shows and Movies when using Homeshare to stream my Library to my iPad2 shows incorrect images. As all of the files are sorted in alphabetical order it is obvious which ones are wrong. Tapping on an incorrect image to find out what the correct file should be takes you to the play Screen, where the image suddenly changes to the correct one! However when you tap "Back" and return to the list of Movies the image returns to the incorrect one.
I have 1,053 movies in my Library, and I would guess that 1 in 15 now show an incorrect image in the "Shared" fuction for video streaming. The problem is there for TV Shows, but worse, as the individual episode thumbnails remain incorrect at all times.

The problem seems to be happening when ever you add any Movie or TV Show to your iTunes Library, and after weeks of trying various conetations, I think I have found a temporary solution to the problem, (Until Apple recognise it as so, and fix it).
On the iPad - Ensure the 'Video App' is fully closed (Double Click the HOME button and 'Force Close' the 'Video App' if it is open).
Then under the main 'Settings' Icon, select 'Video' from the list
Remove your Homeshare 'Apple ID' and 'Password'
Exit Settings
Re-open the 'Video App' once (You will see that the Sharing facility is no longer available)
Now close the 'Video App'.
Then ensure the' Video App' is fully closed (Double Click the HOME button and 'Force Close' the 'Video App' via visible 'Video' icon).
Go back to the main 'Settings' Icon, and select 'Video' from the list
Re-Enter your Homeshare 'Apple ID' and 'Password'
Exit Settings
Open the 'Video App' and select 'Shared'
The artwork should then re-load correctly
This process seems to work for me!

Error when using PPR in the OA page developed.

We are encountering an error when using PPR for the custom OA page being developed. I am using JDeveloper version 9.0.3.5(Build 1437) and Oracle Applications version 11.5.10.CU2. The scenario we are using PPR and the steps to reproduce the issue is mentioned below,
Scenario:
1) PPR is enabled for a custom OA page that is developed.
2) The PPR is being used to enable or disable a particular field based on the
selection of a value in a poplist in the same OA Page.
Error replication steps:
1) The user enters a value in the primary mandatory field which has to have
unique value.
2) The user selects a value from the poplist of a field which has PPR associated.
3) The user enters data in all other mandatory fields in the OA page except one
and tries to save the form and is shown a error message saying that all
mandatory fields are not entered(This is correct). Now the page gets
automatically refreshed and so the entered values are wiped off.
4) Now if the user again enters a value in the primary mandatory field (as in
step1) and if that value happens to be already existing value and then select
a value from the poplist which has PPR enabled then immediately the error
"Please enter a unique value" is entered, though we did not save the record.
The unique record validation would happen only at the time of saving the
record as per out business logic.
5) But if in Step 4 if i had entered a unique value again then the above said error
does not happen. There are few more similar kind of issues happening in the
same page because PPR is enabled.
Please note that this issue happens only when the page is deployed in a oracle
applications instance and not in JDeveloper.
Would this issue because of some cacheing problem? If Yes then how do we resolve it? Or would it be some other problem caused by our internal coding.
Any inputs for resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.

What works in Jdeveloper should work when deployed in iAS as well.
And PPR is an old feature given quite enough time to mature, so before we suspect OA we should investigate the code. What I do not understand is how the page refreshes in Step 3 and why does the user have to re-enter the fields just because he missed entering one mandatory field the last time.
Mandatory field validations are client validations set by making the fields 'Required'. You obviously have client validations turned off on your PPR, otherwise you would be stuck with a javascript popup on PPR. The only way you can get the "Please enter unique..." error on PPR is Server Validation. So where have you placed this validation? If it is not in the EO, is it in the AM? And are you unconditionally calling the AM validation method in your processFormRequest? The PPR will also go through processFormRequest so I hope the PPR event is in a different if-else block.

SQL Developer 3.2 crashes with java error when using OCI/Thick Driver

I just installed SQL Developer 3.2 on my linux desktop. SQL Developer crashes with a java error when I select a database from the object tree.
When I check Use OCI/Thick driver the application will crash when I navigate to the tree and open a database.
The app does not crash then I have Use OCI/Thick driver unchecked.
Here are some details of my environment:
Desktop OS: Fedora 17 Linux

I also had the problem of SQL Developer crashing when using OCI/Thick driver but I've managed to solve it. My configuration is:
- Windows 64-bit
- Java 64-bit (1.6.0.34)
- SQL Developer 3.2.09 64-bit
- OCI Instant client 11.2.0.3 64-bit (without installation).
The thing that solved the problem was copying two files, ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar, from Instant client installation folder to JAVA_HOME/lib/ext folder+.
After that, I haven't had a single crash or error message.
The same trick that solved the problem on 64-bit installation also solved the problem on another windows computer with 32-bit SQL Developer installation.

How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer?

I would like to know how can I show only the tables that I created under the Tables tree? I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. I see all the tables together, and would like to differentiate between different databases.

How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer? if u connected with sys, system or user with dba role then u have a privilege to see these tables,so revoke the privilege/role from ur user to view this tables if ur connected other then sys,system,
I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. DBCA is a tool for creating the new database.

Tableview selection looks different when using iterator

One more litte question about the htmlb:tableView (Design2003, content-style = "tradeshow", selectMode = "MULTISELECT").
When you select a table line, the line is displayed with an orange background. However, if you use a tableView Iterator where you use a textView as the replacement_bee to display some text, this text is not displayed with an orange background, but with only an orange border and a white bacground.
Is there anything I can do?

Sounds kind of stupid, but check to make sure that your iphone case cover is not blocking the edge of the camera lens. I had a silicone case on my 3S and when it got older, it started tot slip and the edges of my pictures were blurred.

How to Select the Current Row When Using af:iterator?

I encounter the following problem when using af:iterator to display data from
a View Object:
When trying to display the content of a row via a popup, only the first row is
returned no matter which row is selected. So a selection of the current row
should exist or some other method which should allow the access to the
current row.
The af:table has a selectionListener attribute which permit to achieve this.
Does anyone know about some similar attribute or some method for
selecting the current row when the af:iterator is used?

I would be interested in the answer to this basic question as well. I cannot get the selected row value of an attribute in an iterator for a view if I simply set-up a attribute binding to the iterator. It seems that this should be possible. I've had no other option but to obtain the current row and the related attributes programmatically. This works fine, but if there is a more elegant option, then I'd certainly like to use it.

No tables listed when using a proxy connection in SQL Developer

Hello, I'm trying to use a connection in SQL developer that uses the proxy connection to connect to another users tables. In the SQL worksheet area I can access the other users tables with no problems. And using SELECT COUNT(*) FROM USER_TABLES i get the count of the number to tables. But on the tables view on the left hand side of SQL developer no tables are listed. So the question is why do I not see any tables under the tables view? Is this a bug or is it working by design? Hi, I've tried the example "Developing and Using ADF Faces Skins", but when I run the sample.jspx page and choose the skin "MyCompany" in the select skin I obtain the next message:

I had the same issue last friday.
It's probably because you are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 instead of 10.1.3.0 or 10.1.3.1 for which the example is made.
I haven't been able to fix this yet, other then by commenting out the this part of the css.
