ITunes download (err = -100008)

Download of purchased music repeatedly fails with error code listed in subject. iTunes gives error message stating "The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose "Check for Purchases" from the Store menu." Following this suggestion does not resolve the problem

Update: this failed orignally with iTunes 7.1.1.15 and also now fails with iTunes 7.2.0.35. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

  • ITunes download err = -43 What does it mean and how do I solve ti?

After purchasing several movies from iTunes, and leaving them in iCloud until I wish to watch them (saving HD space), I am encountering numerous problems downloading them to my MBPro (late 2011 model running OS 10.7.5, iTunes 11.1.3 (8)). Namely, the last four downloads I attempted only get so far into the download before they quit, giving me either a "err = -50" or "err = -43" error. The download times are atrocious ... 3 or (many) more hours to download a 90 min HD movie! I'd rather watch paint dry. That aside, "err = -43" has me stumped. I can find no reference to it anywhere in any of the forums. I am beginning to have flashbacks to OS 9, if any of you can recall the end of its life, when my overwhelming desire was to fling my Walstreet laptop against the wall. iTunes can go the same way, far as I'm concerned. This coming from a devoted Apple loyalist for 27+ years.
I have taken a screenshot of the download box with the error messages, but that doesn't seem to want to upload to this forum.
Tried again and successfully uploaded screne shot ... if you look behind the dialogue box, you'll see the "err = -43" I was speaking of. Have tried all of the obvious solutions ... restarts, zapping ram, repairing permissions, emptying cache. Nothing seems to be working. Then there's the ongoing "err = -50" problem. Sigh.

  • Itunes downloads err time out or network reset...

    Dear Sir,
I have 15 available downloads in my Id account.
However, all of them can not be downloaded seccuessfully. and it feed back err 408 or err 3253.
There were problems downloading some purchased items.
For more information on the items that could not be downloaded, click below.
There was a problem downloading “IKEA Catalogue”.
    The server has timed out.
There was a problem downloading “[????]?????????????”.
    The server has timed out.
There was a problem downloading “Teddy Floppy Ear: The Race HD”.
    The network connection was reset.

It sounds like it's a network issue. Are they
limiting the amount of data you can stream? I would
    check with your network admin.
The sharing might be network, but the CDs hiccuping seems to be a different issue, yes? Don't know if THAT issue has something to do with the age of the computer and the CD drive, but it started happening just about the time the iTunes sharing interruptions started.

Ya report this to Apple, I'm having the same issue. Itunes 64 9.2.1
By any chance, are you using Windows 7 (64bit)??
Some songs download, but others (most) crash iTunes during purchase. Play around with itunes and try to download "free songs" and see if they stick.
I wish we can find out if this effects more users on Windows 7 (32 and/or 64)

I have this same problem. It all started over 4 months ago when I downloaded "Starship Troopers- Marauders" as part of a purchase of several items. All other items in that purchase (music and movies) downloaded fine. But I got error 8008 for Marauders. I went back and forth with iTunes for the next few months. They never figured out what the problem was or explained what caused it. It was resolved by a refund of the purchase. I recently tried again and got the same result. But now I have been getting more errors and have 3 more items which failed to download with error 100000. What is going on with iTunes??? All of my software is up to date and I have business class cable internet. I have a top line MacBook Pro with Leopard. I have been through the full progression of flowchart solutions from Apple Support. How can I fix or prevent this problem and what is causing it?

It's better to post the URL of the feed (as you have subsequently done) than the contents of the feed .
From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
    <description>...</description>
tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
You should really have a language tag, e.g.
    <language>en-us</language>
(you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
<itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it.

  • Itunes match download err -5000

I have subscribed to iTunes match yesterday from my MBP 15" and uploaded all my music to the cloud. Afterwards I have added iTunes match to my rMBP 13" and everything went more or less smooth except of ca. 30 titles which were uploaded or matched (as indicated by the 'iCloud status' column) and they have the iCloud download icon aside.
However, when I want to download the item to my rMB 13" I get the following message: "There was a problem downloading XXXXX . You do not have enough access priviliges for this operation".
And if I go into the download overview it shows the err = -5000 code which I can not identify in the iTunes match FAQ.
I already tried to repair permissions and restart iTunes but actually it didn't change anything regarding the error.
Streaming of the title is possible and working, but I need the files locally!!!! as I do not always have connectivity.

    Hi der_lockere!
I have an article for you here that references this error code, and can provide some troubleshooting steps for you to help you resolve it:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
       \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows 7:
       \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows XP:
       \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden

  • **err= -100008**PLS HELP!!

everytime try to download a music videos or movie and sometimes songs onto my computer from itunes, i get the err= -100008. i have cybersitter on my computer, and ive unblocked what it said to unblock for the -50 err, which was: phobos.apple.com and phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net and i tried to download it again and it gets the same error. if there is something i need to unblock can somebody please tell me?!! this is really making me mad!

i have to implement applet for this
program. So is the normal applet better or the
Japplet?Which is much more simpler for a new user as
    me?
Japplet is an extension on Applet, and so contains all functions that Applet has and so is simpler. Japplet is used in swing applications that provide better GUI compenents for applets.
    Exception in thread "main"
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:main
This is caused since you are trying to execute a normal java program without a command line. In a normal java program, to execute it you need a function "public static void main(String[] args) { ... }" inside the class you intend to run. However, you don't need this inside an applet, since the web browser executes the class. Find a tutorial on writing applets for more info on how the applets run.

  • ITunes Download folder in Store menu in Windows.

    Hi
I got a problem with one application called Live Cams that still want to download. I had to update the app from on my iPhone without iTunes, and that worked perfectly one week ago. But now the Download folder in the root under the Store menu to the left in my iTunes keeps annoying me. I receive an error under status in that Download folder. This is status zero KB of 1.0 KB - stopped (err = -100000). I also have a bar in iTunes in the same Download folder. It's down under to the right where it stands allow simultaneous downloads. This is called 1 iTunes Downloads available. So if I click on that I receive the same error again on and on. I really want to reset, deleting that or whatever.
I will appreciate any good advices...

Does anyone knows anything about this issue?

  • Download error -100008

I tried to download 2 Bob Dylan albums yesterday from the iTunes store.
Got a download error -100008 for 3 songs.
Apple support mailed that I had to delete the cache for these songs (~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads) but I cannot find this directory.
Maybe the caches where deleted this night, I use Onyx to automatically delete the caches every night.

    Hello,
sorry for answering so late, but was on vacation for quite a long time.
I use Netbarrier, so I suppose your solution will work.
Meanwhile I have been refunded, so ....

  • 2 shows won't download (err = -50)

For days now I have been trying to download 2 episodes from Star Trek Enterprise Season 1.
Every single time they download to the exact same point and then says it can't be downloaded (err = -50).
For example the episode "Breaking The Ice" downloads to exactly 150 megs then drops down to saying 140 megs downloaded
and then gives the error and starts again going to 150 megs and stops again and gives the error then tries to start all over from the beginning.
I have plenty of hard drive space free. (1.17 TB free).
I have deleted the temp downloads folder in my iTunes directory.  I have tried 2 different Macs, created a new user account and downloading
from that, tried used two different ISP's to download from.  I am not using any 3rd party firewalls, security, virus progs etc on my Mac.
Ive even turned off Mac OS 10s own firewall.  My iTunes is the most recent version (10.5.3), OS X is at 10.7.2.  Now when I mail
support telling them its still unable to download they are simply replying to me with the same message to do all the above Ive already done
    countless times.
I can't even find on google anything about this error -50 and itunes for Mac.  Anyone have a clue?  Anything at all I can do?
Is this possibly a file corruption on Apples end?
    thanks.

Ditto, i'm having the same problem except it only happens on one of my computers. I was able to complete the download on the other computer.
On my main computer (which until then was working perfectly), download starts then stops with the following message :
"There was a problem downloading (movie). An unknown error occured (-50). Please check that the connection of the Network is active and try again".
    The network works fine however.
Any suggestions on why this is, and how to fix it?
    Thank you

  • Down load error (err = -100008)

Hi all, Still trying to down load "The Prestige" Like I said before, the whole file downloads and goes into processing mode, stays there a few seconds and then starts to download the file again. The error message that I get is ( There was an error down loading The Prestige. The files seems to be corrupted. err = -100008)
Any ideas? I have been trying to download this file for over a week, maybe 10 or 15 times.... always the same thing

Try the Reader forum. I would suggest you try again. Sometimes downloads mess up due to the connection and a retry does not take much time (at least with a high-speed connection).

  • Tv show dowloads are corrupted (err = 100008)

Tried to download free version of 30Rock and pilot episode of Heroes, both times I recieve an error message stating that the files are corrupted. err=100008
I believe I have been charged for both of these episodes even the free trial of 30 Rock! Do you think this has something to do with my security settings or firewall?

Our problems do appear to be related. Sometimes my screen flashes and alternates between purple and green. I worry that my computer has been attacked by malware; however, no other video program (e.g., Windows Media Player) displays this anomaly.
