Itunes match download err -5000

I have subscribed to iTunes match yesterday from my MBP 15" and uploaded all my music to the cloud. Afterwards I have added iTunes match to my rMBP 13" and everything went more or less smooth except of ca. 30 titles which were uploaded or matched (as indicated by the 'iCloud status' column) and they have the iCloud download icon aside.
However, when I want to download the item to my rMB 13" I get the following message: "There was a problem downloading XXXXX . You do not have enough access priviliges for this operation".
And if I go into the download overview it shows the err = -5000 code which I can not identify in the iTunes match FAQ.
I already tried to repair permissions and restart iTunes but actually it didn't change anything regarding the error.
Streaming of the title is possible and working, but I need the files locally!!!! as I do not always have connectivity.

Hi der_lockere!
I have an article for you here that references this error code, and can provide some troubleshooting steps for you to help you resolve it:
iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
"Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
Windows Vista:
   \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows 7:
   \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows XP:
   \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
Cheers,
Braden

  • Why does iTunes Match download songs that I skip?

I haven't seen this question posted yet, but feel free to direct me to any pertinent posts.
I've been using iTunes Match for the last couple days, and all in all I really enjoy the service. There is one issue that I've yet to see addressed on these boards yet though; why is iTunes Match downloading songs that I skip? I listen to all my music in random, so occasionally there will be a song I just don't want to hear at the moment. I assumed that if I don't listen to a song completely that it would not be downloaded to my device. Not true apparently. I was able to use about half a gig of data in a few hours just by skipping songs. Every song that was skipped, even if I didn't hear a single second of it, was downloaded (at an average size of 5-8 MB). I sincerely hope this is just a bug and not a 'feature'.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I have noticed this too. I filled up my phone VERY fast yesterday.
and deleting is not easy, lots of left swipe DELETE action, took a while.

  • ITunes Match downloaded all but one playlist???

I just subscribed to iTunes Match. I have iphone 4 and ipod touch, 3rd generation (5.1.1). Anyway, iTunes Match downloaded all my songs and playlists except for ONE playlist. My iTunes Match is turned on in iTunes and I updated iTunes match 2 times today. All playlists are there except one. The songs area all in iTunes match as well, just not the playlist. I cannot figure out why all my playlists are accessible on my iphone and ipod except for one. This playist is still on my MacBrook Pro (new 2012) , and plays just fine on my laptop - can someone assist as to how to get iTunes match to accept this other playlist? (Of course, its the one I use the most.)
    Thanks

Thanks - tired that, as well.
I finally called Apple Support after much frustration.
Evidently, iTunes Match is quite particular about what it can upload. Since one of my most recently purchased albums from iTunes included a digital booklet, it was also included as part of the album when I made the playlist. iTunes Match will only match items in basic format, no videos, etc. After I removed the Digital booklet (like an extra on a cd album), the playlist then downloaded no problem....sneaky.
Thanks, anyway - perhaps this post will help someone solve the same (yet simple) mystery.

  • Itunes match downloading old artwork

why does itunes match download old artwork even when its been updated in itunes. has anyone got any solutions?

After much searching have found the answers buried in another forum (http://cybernetnews.com/cybernotes-add-album-art-in-itunes/).
iTunes Match does not presently reliably replicate Album Artwork across libraries - it does however make impressive if partial progress hence still worthwhile.
Method outlined is correct - it is best to use the Library All Songs Diplayed by Album Grid format - Get Info here presents a single Artwork location for all associated tracks.
Using a Smart List on each library to track apparently missing Artwork works well.
Saving the Artwork retrieved from Google at 300 by 300 72dpi to a shared folder works well.
Having completed an initial library - worth Get Album Artwork request, ahead of Update iTunes Match request.
In each target library repeat the Get Album Artwork and Update iTunes Match request.
Working from the Smart List for No Artwork, sort by Album, use shift-click to select all tracks for each Album, Get Info, paste in Album Artwork from shared folder.
Once complete - for each subsequent library complete a Get Album Artwork and iTunes Match request.
Confirm that both all entries in Library All Songs Grid View are complete and that the Smart List for No Artwork is empty.
Repeat for each library in question - it really is very fast.
Whilst it is frustrating the iTunes Match does not manage this automatically, once complete each Library is a pleasure to use allowing all Songs to be navigated via Album Artwork.
Good luck - the finished result really is worth the small amount of effort involved!

  • Cancel iTunes Match downloads

I upgraded to iOS 6.0 and inadvertently hit the download cloud button for an artist (to download all albums/tracks from that artist).  I have over 950 songs in the queue and I have tried everything. To stop them from downloading.  I've turned iTunes Match off, I've deleted the artist, nothing works.  I hate this new iTunes Match.

Downloads are handled by the iTunes app, not the Music app. To stop them and clear the queue open the iTunes app and tap More > Downloads. There you'll be able to stop and delete the tracks.

  • HT4914 When iTunes Match downloads to devices, does the aac file contain cover art and lyrics?

When iTunes Match downloads the AAC files to devices, does the new AAC file contain Cover Art and Lyrics?

SORRY ALL...  After searching, I couldn't find anything, and once I submitted this, up comes suggested previous discussions where it's clear iTunes Match is likely regressing my artwork.  I'll proceed with deleting it all first, making sure it gets out of the cloud, then adding it back as if it were new.  (Wow, Apple, what a waste of time!)

  • ITunes Match downloads very slow over LTE

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4. When downloading iTunes Match songs to my phone it is very slow over LTE taking roughly 1 minute per megabyte. Over wifi it is a lot faster taking perhaps less than 20 seconds per track on average. All other data based activity is fast over LTE so the issue does seem to be limited to iTunes Match downloads and is the same whether my music was matched or uploaded to to icloud.
Any fixes/suggestions much appreciated. I have a brand new handset and restored my phone yesterday. I'm on the EE network in London.
    Thank you

    Hello there Caliente78,
Here is some info about troubleshooting the cellular data connection.
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3780
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, orcontact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Can iTunes Match download files from a crashed time capsule retroactively

Ok, so I'm a devoted itunes / apple user.  I had my time capsule for 2+ years with no issue, but it recently died and I had to get a new one.  Unfortunately, I had my iTunes library pull from the time capsule instead of my laptop hard drive and now a lot of my music is lost.  I can get anything that I had originally purchased via iTunes with iCloud download, but anything burned / ripped to the library is lost.
The track names, album names, etc. are still listed in itunes when I open it, but it cannot access the folder to pull the audio.  My question, is there a way to access these files since they are in my library without having to hunt all of these down and ripping them again?  If I were to purchase iTunes Match, would it download these files so that I could have them without doing the hunting and ripping?

    Hi,
    No.
If you have no back up you will need to re-rip them. You cannot use match to retrieve music that is not on your computer or external hard drive.
Match can only scan the music that is in your library.

  • HT4914 iTunes Match "downloads"

iTunes match says that it "downloads" songs to iOS devices instead of streaming them.  Does this mean that iCloud will download the physical song files to your phone and take up storage data?

This topic has been covered many times, hence worth a little searching through the content on this forum.
The good news is that you can make it work by using more than one library - rather than simply repeat content, do post back if you do not quickly find the specific steps for your application.

  • ITunes Match stopped (err =-100000)

I have done the matching, uploading and finally deleting to update some tracks to 256kpbs.  I have trouble downloading two tracks
    1. George Harrison - Awating on The Wall from the album All Things Must Pass &
    2. Foreigner - Waiting for a Girl Like You from the album The Very Best ... and Beyond.
Both tracks 'Matched' and are not 'Uplodaed'
When downloading I can see the tracks download and once they get to the end they just starting downloading again until I end up with the error message in the subject line.
Anyone else having trouble with these tracks?  How can I resolve it, I have tried downloadign them several times but they keep failing.  Stupid thing is I can play the song but it wont stay on the device be it iPad, iPhone or in iTunes on my iMac.

I have all three of these songs.  I Matched the Logical Song awhile back and that new file is in my collection now, with no issues.    I hadn't Matched the other two yet, but I just tried the Foreigner one (I have mine off "The Very Best of Foreigner" from 1992?) and it Matched and I was able to play it in iCloud and download / play it local.
I'm in the US, btw - not sure if that might be related or not.  These three are a bit tricky as there are likely remasters for all of them and I'm not sure if I matched to a different master or not - it depends on how many versions are in their database.
If you had a second computer, I'd recommend trying iTM on that one and retrying to Match / download these three songs, just to remove the other PC as a possible root cause.  Other than yet, you might want to call up support to see if they have any other suggestions (probably turning off / turning on iTM will be the first thing the L1 rep will suggest).
EDIT:  "Awating on The Wall", also got that to Match, no issues playing in iCloud or after re-downloading it / playing it local.   Another suggestion I have is to create a new library, iTM that and then re-try the Match / download of these three songs only in that new library.

  • ITune Match download issues. Stuck.

I downloaded iTune Match yesterday and it seems to be permanently stuck on song 3180 of 3800. Not moving forward, not doing anything. I did restart the process with the exact same result. OSx 10.9.3  update on iTunes.  I did go to iTunes store to see if I could edit iTunes match but it's not even highlighted so I can't turn it off and turn it back on again (as suggested in another thread)
    What next?

    Hi,
There is an ongoing problem with match at present.
Contact support with your problems https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action. Select connecting and downloading then iTunes Match.

  • Will iTunes Match download ALL of my songs onto a new Mac once I sign in with my Apple ID?

Hi.  Just wondering if iTunes Match is a viable back-up if my Mac is somehow destroyed or stolen.  Thanks for you time if anyone has an answer.  I live in Canada - not sure if the laws are differrent here.  Cheers.

Actually, that statement is only true of iPhones, iPods and iPads. On Apple TV's it only streams (although the songs are probably held memory until the space is required, and on a computer via iTunes streaming is the default if you play a song. You have to specifically ask it to download to a computer.
To answer the original poster, yes you could feasibly use the cloud for a backup, but I would add a couple of factors to consider:
It could take some time to redownload, depending on your connection speed, if you lose your entire library.
Some of your library may not be eligible for some reason, so that wouldn't be backed up.
Match is not 100% accurate, so there is the risk of finding that there is the wrong version of some songs on your matched library. That may or may not be an issue for you.
As match is a service that tries to keep your library in sync, there is always the possibility that a problem could effect both your local library and match. Say for example, you deleted an album by accident and the "also delete from the cloud" box was ticked, then you may struggle to recover the tracks.
Personally, I wouldn't consider not having a local backup of my library, but at least iMatch would be a backup of sorts.

I have this same problem. It all started over 4 months ago when I downloaded "Starship Troopers- Marauders" as part of a purchase of several items. All other items in that purchase (music and movies) downloaded fine. But I got error 8008 for Marauders. I went back and forth with iTunes for the next few months. They never figured out what the problem was or explained what caused it. It was resolved by a refund of the purchase. I recently tried again and got the same result. But now I have been getting more errors and have 3 more items which failed to download with error 100000. What is going on with iTunes??? All of my software is up to date and I have business class cable internet. I have a top line MacBook Pro with Leopard. I have been through the full progression of flowchart solutions from Apple Support. How can I fix or prevent this problem and what is causing it?

  • I have 3 computers with 3 different iTunes libraries can I download all to itunes match and have one library?

I have 3 computers with 3 different iTunes libraries, can i set up iTunes Match download each library and have all of my music in one place in the cloud?

Yes.  By enabling iTunes Match on each computer, each library will be scanned and the Songs will be Matched or Uploaded to the cloud.
