ITunes equalizer having problems, any ideas?

Just recently, I launched iTunes and opened the EQ window. Instead of being greeted with the normal frequency bars, I saw the top part only (on/off and preset). The preset was already set to manual, and I switched to several others trying to get the bottom screen. I have not changed any preferences or updated recently. I looked through the prefs and found nothing applicable. I then relaunched iTunes. Still nothing.
…any ideas?

Click the green or the yellow button (not sure which) at the top left of the EQ.

According to the hardware requirements, my system well exceeds them, but no joy!

UPDATE: I backed up my phone, wiped it (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), & then restored it through iTunes. For whatever reason, that seems to have fixed the problem. Movies now sync to my phone like they used to.
That process seems to have corrected 1 or 2 other minor issues, including one where iTunes was 'syncing artwork' for a long time on every sync.

IPad lost it's "touch" you can't turn it on because you can't slide the slider. I did a simple reset, and then a full reinstall from iTunes - neither worked. Any ideas? We are a school so I can't even afford a "chat" with Apple. So thank you.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. That will cost nothing and you will then know what the problem is and what alternatives you have for a fix.

I've swapped to i5c so my hubby has my i4s with pay as u go but now it won't load or sent e-mails! I've tried tech support suggested by Talkmobile for 'fix' but it hasn't solved problem,any ideas?..

Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
* Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
* Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear.

Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing, please?
Try going to the Store. Hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.
