Itunes keeps cutting off the last few seconds of each track!

I'm trying to import from a CD, and for some (but not all) of the tracks being imported, when I go to play them from my Library, itunes skips the last few seconds of the song and jumps to the next one. Usually it wouldn't be a problem, because most tracks on CDs have some dead time at the end, but for these you are supposed to go directly from one track to another - without down time in between or skipping any of the track (one song is spread out over several tracks).
I've tried re-importing the tracks using both the AAC encoder and MP3 encoder, specifying the the track end at a particular time (stop time - this information shows up when I "get info" on the track, under options) and the track length in my library shows up as that exact time from the CD. itunes just doesn't play the full length of the track!
How do I get itunes to play each track to the very end before jumping to the next one?

iTunes should play the full track. Did you tick the 'Crossfade playback' checkbox in Preferences>Playback? If so, uncheck it.
If the problem persists you can check if it's an inporting problem or an iTunes setting problem by doing this:
In iTunes select a 'problemtrack'.
Choose 'Show Song File' from the File menu (command-R).
Select the file and control-click on it.
Choose 'Open With' and select 'Quicktime Player' as the program to open the file with.
Now play the 'problemtrack' in Quicktime Player to the end and see if it still skips the last seconds.
If it plays the full track, your imports are OK.

I've searched high and low and cannot seem to find a resolution to my problem. When I'm listening to many of the songs in my library, iTunes will just stop playing and move to the next song after about 10-15 seconds. If I slide the progress bar at the top, the song plays from that point on for a few more seconds and skips. It seems that many people have had this trouble throughout the last few years, but in each of the instances where I've found someone talking about it, there is never a solution. The discussion just goes cold. I've tried checking the start/stop boxes for an affected song, but they won't stay checked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes this seems to have cropped up a few times recently without a definite solution.
Assuming that the files play Ok in another player and you have checked that the start stop boxes look OK in get Info, here a couple of things you could try.
Rebuild your library:

I would modify the method as follows, drag iTunes Library.itl to the desktop as well as iTunes Library.xml. Then you can put it back if this doesn't work.
Then try deleting your preference files, this causes iTunes to create new ones with default values so any custom preferences are lost.
First make hidden files visible in Folder Options>>View
Delete iTunesPrefs.xml in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
And
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

My CDs load into itunes but only play the first few second of each song.

When I try to play CDs from itunes only the first few seconds play. I can play CDs from windows media player. At one time I was able to play CDs from itunes.

Garage Band/Guitar Help! My notes keep cutting off after a few seconds

So, I am having this problem where when I play my electric guitar, notes don't carry after a few seconds, especially if I try to bend the note. Cords seem to have sustain but whenever I play a solo string and try to bend or tremelo it, it cuts off within a second or two. When I say cuts off I mean the sound completely vanishes. Is there a fix for this? I tried the Squash Compressor but this failed.
Thanks and hope there is a fix as this is killing my jam.

Import of AIC MOV - FCE cuts off the last 10 seconds

I created the mov with Quicktime screen recorder and then had to convert it in MpegStreamclip. FCE plays it just fine but it simply cuts it with 10 seconds left. Anyone know why this may be happening? or how I can make FCE see the whole file? Yes I am new to FCE, and yes I have searched forums all over the net about this and haven'tsee anything ecven mentioned about this issue.

First, I assume that if you right click on the h.264 and the AIC files and check duration, they are identical.
Second, if you look at the AIC clip properties within FCE in the broser, the duration is also unchanged.
Third, if you bring the clip to the timeline, it is still the same length.
If that's the case, put an out point after the last frame of your sequecnce (the entire sequence should now be highlighted) and export as QuickTime movie, current settings.

work fine in Firefox, but not in IE...IE seems to cut off the

How 2 Import a CD into Itunes? I only get first few Secs of each track!!

I have just bought an Ipod and am having trouble importing my Cds into Itunes !!!
I seem to have the 'intro function' on in Itunes so I can only get the first few seconds of each track !!
Does anyone know how I can import the complete tracks and how I turn this Itunes intro setting off ?

let's try checking up on some of the simpler possibilities:
You can't import or play music from an audio CD in iTunes for Windows
these resources might be helpful with that:

... but if no joy, post back with your itunes "help > run CD diagnostics". one of the clever folk might be able to spot something in those.

When I share a video with fcpx and it goes to Quicktime, the last few seconds goes mute. I checked the clip and sent that the same route and all is fine. It is only when I send the whole 3gb video. Any ideas?

I use the Tools > Annotate > Add Text feature, and when I click away after adding text, it automatically changes the text box size such that the last letter -- or last word -- gets bumped off into an invisible line below it, forcing me to manually adjust every single text box. It is highly annoying when trying to complete PDF forms (e.g. job applications).
It appears to be a glitch, quite honestly, an error resulting from Apple's product design. Has it been fixed in the new operating system (for which they want $30)?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I am have problems loading a cd onto i-tunes. No matter how many times I try to load a particular cd it will only load the first 9 seconds of each track. Can anyone help?

If it was a recent purchase you could take it back to the store and return it as "not fit for purpose", then buy a digital version. If it is too late for that I suppose you could try contacting the record company but I doubt they care at this point since they have the money. Can't really go into any possible workarounds without breaching the TOU.

It seems after I do a sync, some of my songs are cut off after a few seconds of playing. This has happened several times. What is the problem?

Every now and then (I think it is after I do a sync) my songs cut off after the first few seconds. I went back to itunes and check the song and now the song can't be found. Or, the song cuts of there also.............The songs played fine up until this point. This has happened several times in the past year.

To delete all music from the iPod go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
In iTunes on computer right click on select delete.

A particular song on my iPod keeps cutting off after just a few seconds. When I play the song in iTunes it plays just fine. I've tried deleting the song from my iPod and reloading it, but it still does the same thing. I have several hundred songs on my iPod and this is the only one I've had any trouble with ... please help!

Importing creates pops & hisses at the last few seconds

I am getting audio pops and hisses in the last 2 or 3 seconds of each track I import now. This used to occur less frequently and I was able to remedy the situation by re-importing the problematic tracks.
However, this has become a bigger problem these days as it happens more frequently, and re-importing often does not solve the problem.
I have Error Correction checked and Crossfade Playback is unchecked. Audio is being imported as Apple Lossless.
Is this a problem with my disc drive, hard drive, or iTunes itself?

Could you try turning off the scanWhenDone setting? Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''scan''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone''' to toggle its value from true to false.

It also prevents Firefox from adding a notation to the file that the source of the file was the internet. That may change how Windows treats the file. Why is your new version cutting off the last letter in the name of the addressee ??

When I enter the name in a new email to send, eg
David Smith<dsmith.com.au>
After the email is sent the adressee name appears as David Smit
This is occurring on every new email I compose.

Does it always cut off the same length, like 38 seconds, is it a percentage thing, like it always cuts off 6.4%, or is it random?

Videos cut off after a few seconds (MacBook Air)

In the last few days, I haven't been able to play videos on my original MBA: they start, but freeze after a few seconds. I've tried the usual housekeeping - rebooting, repairing permissions, PRAM - but no luck. Can't find any relevant advice by googling.
Any suggestions?
A separate but possibly related problem is that the sound icon is greyed out, and I can't get any sound.
