ITunes looking for wrong .xml filename, adding /

Hi,
I have been podcasting for about a year now. However, the last 4 weeks of my show haven't updated on my page and I have found out why...when I click on the information icon it is looking for the filename
http://www.deucecreative.co.uk/upload/traxsource/ts1_podcast.xml/
They have added a forward slash (.xml/) at the end. It is impossible to name a file that way, and I am not sure why it is looking for that filename. Nothing has changed on my xml and it doesn't appear that way anywhere else. I have validated it with feedvalidator and it's fine.
If I subscribe to "http://www.deucecreative.co.uk/upload/traxsource/ts1_podcast.xml" it works correctly, just won't update on the main page.
If anyone has some sort of solution it would be much appreciated. I have already tried to contact their support Thanks.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for replying. I actually tried to add that line it to point it to the correct filename. I see that that xml doesn't validate so I have removed it and re-uploaded a valid one.
http://www.deucecreative.co.uk/upload/traxsource/ts1_podcast.xml
here is a direct link to get a better idea of what it happening..
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=271121520
That only goes up to week 61. Should go up to 64. Once you subscribe & try do download you get the ( i ) error message.
If I get <itunes:new-feed-url> to point to a valid xml do you think that might solve the problem?
Thanks again.

  • ITunes looking for a drive that doesn't exist

Each time I boot up my PC I receive a box stating iTunes-import.exe - No Disk. It then asks me to insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR4. Is there a way to stop iTunes looking for this non-exixtant drive when it starts up, or am I going to have to uninstall iTunes?

I am not sure that I got the wireless instructions correct. I opened the window to connect to a wireless network and instead of typing in a name I just typed in a dash. This caused my Airport icon to be grayed out. I then rejoined our office network by turning off and then restarting Airport.
For the ethernet connection, I did as instructed and then tested by turning off the Airport on the computer so I was only connected using ethernet.
Neither of these worked and the computer still searches for the same IP address.

  • Looking for an XML-enabled database system

    Dear all,
I am looking for a RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) that provides management of XML data in a relational fashion.
I found the IBM DB 2 XML Extender. However, I am not sure if this system is already in use (because the latest release was in 2003).
I would be very grateful to you if you could help me to find what I am looking for.
PS. For RDBMS handling XML data, we find two categories: XML-enabled systems (they store XML data using a special data type like BLOB, CLOB,...), or the native XML systems (which stor XML data in its hierarchical structure, so the fundamental unit of storage is XML document). So, I precise that I am looking for an XML-enabled system and NOT a native XML system.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,

    Thanks for your help,
To be more clear, I am looking for an XML-enabled database system (which provides only relational techniques to manage XML data).
Oracle is a Hybrid system (it means that it provides both native and relational fashions to manage XML data, e.g. you can store XML document as XMLType column (native way) or using BLOB data type (relational data type). I am collecting information about the three broad categories of XML database systems (native, XML-enabled, and Hybrid), and I would like to give example of each system. For example, there is BaseX and eXist-db for the first category (native systems), Oracle and IBM DB2 for the third category (each of theme manage XML data in both native and relational fashions). However, for the second category (XML-enabled systems), I don't find more information about the existing systems, there is for instance postgreSQL which is an XML-enabled system, but I don't find more information about its architecture, its XML data storage model, API for querying and updating, and so on.
Please don't hesitate to help me if you get some documentation about postgreSQL or about another XML-enabled database system.
    Thank you again.
    Best regards.

  • I got a new ph9one uesterday and am trying to do a restore data on my new phone  What password is itunes looking for-I dont have an itunes password

I got a new phone yesterday (cracked the screen on my old one) and now I need to restore data from itunes.  Itunes is asking fior a password by I do not have an itunes password.  what password is itunes looking for?

    Hello agentlesley,
It sounds like your backup is encrypted. If you do not know that password, then you would have to set up your iPhone as a new device.

  • How do I make itunes look for my media files on the external hardrive

I've moved as far as I can tell all my music, videos etc. to an external drive but even though I've set itunes to look for it there in edit-preferences-advanced it still won't go there. In my list everything has the exclamation next to it and when I try to "get info" it says the original can't be found and I have to "find" it. I obviously can't do that for thousands of songs. I just updated the software on both my ipod and itunes and still nothing. I also reset my ipod and it still won't pick it up. My media files are under I:\My Music\iTunes Music\iTunes Music
    Any ideas?

As implied above, iTunes struggles if you move the content around by hand. Changing the location under Edit > Preferences > Advanced tells iTunes where to put new content, not where to look for the old stuff. That said, if you move the library files and the media at the same time, keeping the relative paths from the library to the media unchanged then iTunes usually manages to work everything out.
If you copied the iTunes folder over already, then the steps above should sort you out. If not it might be time to get your library sorted out propery.
The path you mention, I:\My Music\iTunes Music\iTunes Music, looks like it has one too many levels and is the older name for the media folder. Ideally you want your library files at the root of the drive, e.g. I:\iTunes and the media folder inside that at I:\iTunes\iTunes Media. Again, ideally, your folder structure should look like the one on the right in this detatil copied from one of my older posts:
If you have upgraded from version 8 (or earlier) to iTunes 9 (or later) at some point, then your media folder (everything inside the red outline) may still be called iTunes Music instead of iTunes Media. The extra Music folder inside the media folder is used if you have allowed iTunes to Upgrade to iTunes Media Organization (iTunes 9) or used File > Library > Organize Library > Reorganize files in the folder "<Media Folder>" (iTunes 10). Depending on your choices for Keep iTunes Media folder organized and Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library plus a little bug in which one build changed the name of the file storing the choice of layout it is quite easy for some of your files to be organized according to one layout and some the other.
If everything is set out like that then iTunes should be able to find things by itself, but if it needs a hand my script FindTracks should be able to relink any files that iTunes can't locate.

Should iTunes automatically look for updates to my various iphone Apps, and display the number of updates that are available. At the moment I have to check manually. Itunes is always switched on and my Wifi connection is very good.

Open Preferences and select the 'Store' tab. Is the 'Automatically check for available downloads' ticked?

  • Looking for CRconfig.xml

    Hi,
I wrote a small program that should start the embedded reportviewer and show a report. When I run the program the line
    reportClientDoc.open("D:

    JRCViewReport.rpt", 0);
    throws an exception:

Apparently the CRconfig.xml file cannot be found.
Question1: Can I tell the class ReportClientDocument where to find it?
Question2: If not, where does he look for it?
    Question3: Is the CRconfig.xml necessary?
I'm attaching the source code that produces the exception.

  • Why does iTunes Looking for iPad fail?

In iTunes when I click on Apps for my iPad listed under DEVICES and then select an app (usually FileMaker Go) and try to drag one of the app's files to the iMac desktop, I will get that iTunes is "Looking fo iPad" and then after a few seconds the iPad will disappear from the iTunes DEVICES list. After several times quit and launching iTunes and trying again, I will be able to get it to work FINALLY. I am accessing the iPad and my iPhone as well via wifi when I do this. I don't do this kind of operation nearly as often with my iPhone, but have had the same problem with it as well.  I have connected the devices via usb, clicked on summary for the device, and unchecked and checked "Sync with this iPad (or iPhone depending) over Wi-Fi. That has not solved the problem. I am on Mac OS 10.8, iTunes 10, iOS 5.1.1 on both i-devices.

I just installed iTunes 10.7 and got a new router in case that was the problem. Still these devices just appear and disappear from itunes willy-nilly. Often the disappear when trying to move data to the idevice's app (mainly fm go), I'll get the message "Looking for iPhone" or iPad and then it will disappear from the iTunes DEVICES list. I guess no one else is having the problem as I have had no comments from any one in the community and I should just give up on this discussion.

  • Failing to Reinstall iTunes - looking for file "iTunes.msi"  ??

    Hi,
A while ago my laptop (Windows XP) overheated and switched off while I was trying to update my iTunes. Since then I haven't been able to reinstall it because it says there is still some of the old one left, and it asks for the file "iTunes.msi", which I eventually found but it failed and asked me to "Verify its existence".
So today I completely deleted all files to do with iTunes, tried to install the new iTunes and it comes up with this again! I went on the support page but couldn't find what I was looking for.
    Please help me!

Unfortunately, these sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • [Solved] System is looking for wrong shared library version

    Hey guys.
Today I installed updates on my two arch machines, both running SLiM + XFCE4, using `pacman -Syu`. The update on one machine worked like a charm, but broke the other.
When booting and trying to login with SLiM, the screen goes black and I'm back at SLiM. The log shows this:
xfce4-session: error while loading shared libraries: libicule.so.50: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Of course there is no such file, because I installed icu 51.1-1 and there is only libicule.so.51 in /usr/lib/.
I tried to re-download and re-install icu and xfce4-session in rescue mode, or creating a symlink for libicule.so.50 pointing to the new, but nothing changed. I always drop back to SLiM. On the second system there is no error, I installed the new icu package, rebooted and logged in as usual.
I downgraded to icu 50.1.2-1 and I can login again. But it seems that some other applications are breaking now. (vim e.g.)
Any ideas how to fix this?

Today I tried to update icu along with lib32-icu, but the result was the same. Still looking for libicule.so.50.
I have run `ldconfig -v` to check the symlinks, and it uses the v51 library.
And it seems not be to be a XFCE related problem, when installing v51 I can't even start vim because it also wants v50. So it has to be something other.
On both systems, the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable is blank. When running `ldd /usr/bin/xfce4-session`, it get the same result as running it. One machine said "not found" because looking for v50, the other is using v51 and all okay.
Maybe some problem with the dynamic linker? I'm not very familiar with libraries and linking stuff.

  • Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Weblogic looks for wrong drivers

    Hi all,
I have a strange problem with weblogic. I use weblogic7.0 with MS SQLServer database.
All my jdbc related code from anywhere within my web application works without
    a problem.
But when I try to access the database as a client using weblogic's datasource(obtained
by JNDI lookup), I get the NoClassDefFoundError. Weblogic seems to be looking
for some Oracle drivers strangely, where as I don't have any thing related to
Oracle at all. It breaks on getConnection() call on data source. My connection
pool and data source are defined properly and I have the JDBC drivers for SQLServer
in weblogic's classpath and also in client's classpath(although not required).
Again, all the database access code within my session beans using the same datasource
works fine. Weblogic server and the client application are running on the same(local)

  • ITunes Looking for the "Title" of my iWeb Podcast Page/URL???

have created a podcast page in iWeb and tried to Submit to iTunes and now it asks for the Title of the Podcast???
Have filled in as many of the page names, file names as I think is possible and still get this message.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Would be great if they had a link on the iTunes submit page that would tell us what to do on iWeb.

You are making your podcast in WordPress and submitting it to Feedburner to pass on to the Store. If you want to change the title you have to do this in WordPress: however it looks as if Feedburner generates the feed filename from the title:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheInconvenientTruthFileInPodcastTheInconvenientTrut hExploringTheFactsBehindTheFictions
so if you change the title you will likely change the URL and iTunes will lose contact with the feed. I don't know whether it will do this (logically it shouldn't) but you would have to find that out from their Help (if any). Otherwise you can only try it and if the feed URL does change, change the title back.
As you don't have direct access to the Feedburner feed, then if Feedburner changes the URL you will not be able to add the redirection tag necessary to change iTunes to a different feed - so it's possible you may be stuck with what you've got.

  • New iTunes asks for wrong AppleId with iPoD

I asked this in the old iPod forum too -  not sure which is better forum:
Moved my iTunes library from old PC to new Win7 PC via direct iTunes folder copy.
    Looked ok
but when I connect my 3rd Gen Nanos, I get dire warnings that I have to authorize new PC with my son's AppleID not mine (was originally his iPod but long since factory reset and reloaded) or else iTunes will delete purchased songs. (The new PC is authorized for my Apple Id).
I have 2 of these iPods and the other one was never my son's so I don't know why it also thinks it needs his id.
When we check my son's account and look at devices, the iPods are not listed. (maybe only newer iOS devices are listed?) So I can't "remove" the iPods from that account via the iTunes Store account profile.
yes, I have tried reinstalling iTunes and wiping the registry - no luck.  If I "cancel" when the dire warnings come up instead of authorizing using my son's account, then the iPod is not recognized at all by iTunes (does appear as external drive in Windows) and I have to reinstall .... again.
    My questions are:
    1) How do I get the iPods to only require my Apple Id and not my son's when connected?
    2)  I don't think this will solve the problem but: in iTunes, can I separately sign in  with both IDs and authorize the computer with both IDs? Can a single instance/install/library of iTunes use 2 different AppleIDs? (there are not 2 users on this PC - just 1. So just 1 iTunes instance, just 1 library)
    More details:
    I tried:
If I authorize the new PC for my son's account which the ipod and Itunes seems to want, then when the iPods are connected, all the song's listed in the library in main/right pane are greyed out and can't be selected.  I don't recall this being a problem on the old PC so something seems wrong.
    I am concerned that:
If I give up and authorize this PC for both Apple Id's,  then what?  If I buy something new from iTunes (using, can I sync it to the iPod?

Preface 1: I shall annoy you with my reply, although my intentions are honourable. Preface 2, I am not in the employ of Mac. That having been said, I finally capitulated, gave up on my 2007 iPOD Classic and bought the more humble Nano, which turns out to be a marvel and anything but humble: features, visibility, etc. Given that introduction, I shall make 2 observations:
    1) we are in the era of "usa e getta" as we say in Italy (use and throw away);
    2) cost-accounting considerations prevail over all others - it is too expensive to get programmers to save iPODS more than a few months old, and someone will have calculated the trade off: some loss of company image as opposed to profits from new-product sales.
Unless your ipod is quite recent (in which case, look at the mass of Apple forum discussions on synch problems for recent iPOD) in which case you should find the serial number with help from MAC's support page, and send them the Pod, or you should look at the more recent PODS in an Apple (or other) shop
The only other solution is the Revolution, but that is a lost cost.

  • How do i change where itunes looks for music on my computer? It would only use sample music and to import thousands of songs a file at a time is ridiculous, please help!

Had to install a new version of iTunes after an upgrade to 64Bit Windows, when i got itunes to search for content it only found the sample music, my music is stored on D drive and i cant work out how to get itunes to search there, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, its really annoying!

You can use File > Add folder to library to import the media from any location. If you don't see the menu bar press ALT or CTRL+B to display it. The default options for iTunes will have created a new library folder on the C: drive, and adding media in the way described will result in iTunes making new copies of each of your media files in the C:\ drive. If that's not what you want then I suggest you hold down the shift key as you click the icon to start iTunes and keep holding until asked to choose or create a library, click the create option, and create a libray at D:\iTunes. Move your existing media content into D:\iTUnes\iTunes Media and use File > Add folder to library to import D:\iTUnes\iTunes Media. This will make a self-contained portable library that is easy to backup & move in future.

  • How do I simply reset where iTunes looks for folders?

I took all of my music from the resident iTunes folder on my laptop and put it in a folder on an external hard drive.  I added music to the external hard drive as well.  Now, my iTunes shows the titles from the old resident folder which is now empty, and the files from the correct external HD folder which I designated.  How do I reset the iTunes search criterion, so that it no longer shows the ghost files (songs) on the iTunes folder on my laptop?  I want to reset the search and start from zero.  Is the only option to highlight the entire music library screen and then delete it all, after disconnecting the external HD?  This should be a no brainer and I am sure that Apple thought of this and has a simple solution, right.....?  What am I missing??

Sorry that I was unclear, tt2.  My iTunes version 10+ has 2 folder locations; the one on my laptop where the iTunes software is resident and, a folder on my external hard drive.  I told iTunes to look in the external folder, so it now has 2 the locations; the resident iTunes on my laptop (default) and, the folder on my external hard drive.  I copied all the files from my resident folder in iTunes to my laptop, putting it in the external music folder (deleting all doubles).  Then I deleted all the files on my resident iTunes on my laptop.  Now, iTunes still shows the deleted files, with an exclamation mark on the left side of the music library screen on iTunes.  How do I reset iTunes so that it re reads the internal or resident iTunes folder, sees that it is empty, then I instruct iTunes to look at 1 folder on my external hard drive.  I need to reset the entire on board library/music list, to reflect only the empty iTunes folder on my laptop and, the single folder on my external hard drive.  My laptop cannot hold all the new music, so I put it all on an external hard drive (210Gb).
I can highlight & scroll down the entire music screen that shows the empty file titles from the laptop's hard drive (iTunes default location on computer), and also the correct external master file, then hit delete (after disconnecting my external hard drive, so that the actual music is not deleted), but this seems to be a bass ackwards methodology to do what should be a regular and simple feature of iTunes....
