Looking for an XML-enabled database system

Dear all,
I am looking for a RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) that provides management of XML data in a relational fashion.
I found the IBM DB 2 XML Extender. However, I am not sure if this system is already in use (because the latest release was in 2003).
I would be very grateful to you if you could help me to find what I am looking for.
PS. For RDBMS handling XML data, we find two categories: XML-enabled systems (they store XML data using a special data type like BLOB, CLOB,...), or the native XML systems (which stor XML data in its hierarchical structure, so the fundamental unit of storage is XML document). So, I precise that I am looking for an XML-enabled system and NOT a native XML system.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

Thanks for your help,
To be more clear, I am looking for an XML-enabled database system (which provides only relational techniques to manage XML data).
Oracle is a Hybrid system (it means that it provides both native and relational fashions to manage XML data, e.g. you can store XML document as XMLType column (native way) or using BLOB data type (relational data type). I am collecting information about the three broad categories of XML database systems (native, XML-enabled, and Hybrid), and I would like to give example of each system. For example, there is BaseX and eXist-db for the first category (native systems), Oracle and IBM DB2 for the third category (each of theme manage XML data in both native and relational fashions). However, for the second category (XML-enabled systems), I don't find more information about the existing systems, there is for instance postgreSQL which is an XML-enabled system, but I don't find more information about its architecture, its XML data storage model, API for querying and updating, and so on.
Please don't hesitate to help me if you get some documentation about postgreSQL or about another XML-enabled database system.
Thank you again.
Best regards.

    Hello,
I am looking for a remote desktop management system which should be very user-friendly. We would prefer a open-source software for that for further customization. I have found Paragent software which seems to be looking good so far, any suggestions regarding this would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Looking for a flat file database

    Hi,
I am looking for a 'database' for my Java-Project. My requirements are: no ODBC, no DB-Server, all Windows Systems.
I think my only option is a flat file based system. So my Question:
Which database do you know, or do you advice an other solution for my problem.
    Thanks for your answers

Why don't you go to the two sites above and look through their documentation?
Edit: And why did you resurrect a four year dead thread for this?

    Hi,
I wrote a small program that should start the embedded reportviewer and show a report. When I run the program the line
    reportClientDoc.open("D:
    UserTemp
    JRCViewReport.rpt", 0);
    throws an exception:
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKException: CRConfig.xml Konfigurationsdatei nicht gefunden---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed
Apparently the CRconfig.xml file cannot be found.
Question1: Can I tell the class ReportClientDocument where to find it?
Question2: If not, where does he look for it?
    Question3: Is the CRconfig.xml necessary?
I'm attaching the source code that produces the exception.

The JRC requires CRConfig.xml to be found on the classpath.  It holds the license keycode and other configuration information, and so is necessary. Either the containing folder path or the jar file must be listed within the classpath.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

  • Looking for dual wireless rechargeable headphone system with dual docks

I'm looking for a pretty specific product, and was wondering if anyone knows of a product that'll fit the bill.
I want a wireless dual headphone system with a charging dock for each headset. Transmitter should accept line level signal from dual RCA plugs. I'd prefer a 900mhz transmitter, but IR is acceptable. Either the system should come with two headsets or it should be a system with a transmitter/headset with the option to add a charging dock and an additional heaset.
My old system was a Sony which is on its last legs, and I found a replacement from another manufacturer with dual headsets but it lacks charging docks - you have to plug the heaset into the transmitter and both heasets can't be charged at once. Also, the manufacturer says not to charge a headset for more than 24 hours or you can damage the battery.
Anyone know if Sony or someone else makes what I want?
    Solved!

    Hi Verne,
Sony does not have manufacture dual Wireless Headphones. You can perform an Internet search and check for any third party dual headphones.

  • ITunes looking for wrong .xml filename, adding /

    Hi,
I have been podcasting for about a year now. However, the last 4 weeks of my show haven't updated on my page and I have found out why...when I click on the information icon it is looking for the filename
    http://www.deucecreative.co.uk/upload/traxsource/ts1_podcast.xml/
They have added a forward slash (.xml/) at the end. It is impossible to name a file that way, and I am not sure why it is looking for that filename. Nothing has changed on my xml and it doesn't appear that way anywhere else. I have validated it with feedvalidator and it's fine.
If I subscribe to "http://www.deucecreative.co.uk/upload/traxsource/ts1_podcast.xml" it works correctly, just won't update on the main page.
If anyone has some sort of solution it would be much appreciated. I have already tried to contact their support Thanks.

    Hi Greg,
Thanks for replying. I actually tried to add that line it to point it to the correct filename. I see that that xml doesn't validate so I have removed it and re-uploaded a valid one.

That only goes up to week 61. Should go up to 64. Once you subscribe & try do download you get the ( i ) error message.
If I get <itunes:new-feed-url> to point to a valid xml do you think that might solve the problem?
    Thanks again.

  • Looking for a Hard Drive RAID System for 17" MacBook Pro, any Suggestions?

I purchased my 17" MacBook Pro in Nov. 09 and it does have an ExpressCard/34 slot. What I am looking to do, is purchase a 4TB Caldigit VR External Hard Drive and put it on RAID 0. I Love the performance fact, but I don't feel too safe, because if that drives go down, there goes my data. So what I want to do is use Carbon Copy Cloner and find another External Hard Drive that will backup my Caldigit VR, since it will be RAID 0. Any Suggestions would help out very much! I am using this RAID System to store my HD Video using Final Cut Pro Studio. I know I can set up the Caldigit VR as a RAID 1, but I would rather set it up as a RAID 0 and have another hard drive back the data up. Let me know if you have set up a RAID System for your MacBook Pro and what you did. Also what express cards do you recommend?
    Thank you,
    Chad

There is a difference technically between this iStorage unit and the Cal Digit stuff. Cal Digit includes a hardware raid controller, and removable drives. The iStorage Pro unit relies on your computer's CPU to control the raid... so will tax things like render times... plus just to play a software raid can take as much as 30% of your CPU's cycles to do it...
That said, it may not matter if you're working in lower resolution files, or lower data rate stuff, either company makes great gear though. Both are intended for use with video systems. But ya do get something for the extra money on the CalDigit gear.
But if all you want to use it for is backup of data... anybody's drives would do this... doesn't have to be a raid either. Single FW drives will certainly hold the data as backup even if they won't play it without dropping frames.

I know this isn't your full time job, but perhaps you might want to write another alternate script
Apple says it is going to write one.
Another thing. When it was busy scanning Applications -- I know it says "this may take some time," I gave up and hit skip after giving it a very long time to finish.
Thanks. Don't mean to be ungratefu for your good work on this.
There is no way to tell how long that will take. If I had to edit that script, I would just remove that part. I was following advice that was not accurate in the ensuing blog frenzy. That was costly. I didn't have much time, so should I have gone ahead and scan system areas or done a better job with LaunchAgents? I made the wrong choice.
I always welcome suggestions. Unfortunately, comments on User Tips seem to be locked down pretty tight.
It is a moot point now that Apple is going to write a script. When that happens, I will take down that script. Until then, I'm just reminding people to press "enter" when in doubt.

  • Looking for a third party 'job system/job scheduler'

    Hello,
We have tried using OEM Job and now want to also look at third party Job Scheduling applications. Please advice of such other products. Was thinking of AppWorks. Thank you.

AppWorx, now UC4, is one possibility but there is little, if anything, they can do that can not be done through the proper use of the DBMS_SCHEDULER package.
I would suggest that, before you spend or waste money, you look at the docs on DBMS_SCHEDULER and determine that there is something you need that you have not already purchased. Using OEM to schedule jobs is far from giving you access to the full functionality.

  • I have a customer looking for a high speed vision system 500 fps. Anyone been successfull (or not) with this kind of application with NI hardware?

    Stu

The digital boards can handle these high frame rates as long as the bytes/sec is within specs of the board, as Bruce mentioned. The question is still what you want to do with these images. You mentioned memory storage, how much memory will it take? The 1424 can have 80MBytes of onboard memory, so you could store it all there and then bring it to the host computer at your convienence. If you bring it directly to the host computer, keep in mind the maximum sustained bandwidth of the PCI bus is about 100 MBytes/sec and if you have 3 digital boards outputting data, this could be a limiting factor (overhead of the three boards communicating on PCI may reduce bandwidth also). Make sure you have plenty of RAM to hold all this data if you do bring it directly to t
he host computer. Graftek is very good at recommending specific cameras and Robert Eastlund with www.graftek.com (a imageing alliance member witrh NI) has done these type of applications before and could give you more specific advise.
So in summary, our boards should have no problem withg high frame rates as long as the cameras meet our specs (pixel clock of 40MHz max and the new 1424's have a 100MBytes/sec max data transfer)
    Hope this helps,

  • Client Based Database System

I'm trying to come out with a design for a client-based database system. i wanna create at least 20 databases all linked to one main server and i can make updates whenever i want either manually or thru the update table that will update automatically all the other databases.
each client can look other's information on the server and get access to it as well as clients will get the ability to communicate thru the server or sub-servers within the network.
im really confused myself how to start this and what will be the ideal shema or design to start off with.
i d really appreciate any hints guys.
    thanks

If the goal is disaster recovery, you want to be looking into something like DataGuard to provide a hot standby. Basically, you take archive logs from the primary, copy them to the standby database running in a physically separate data center, and apply the logs to the standby. In the event of a failure on the primary, you simply transition over to the hot standby database. You can configure DataGuard in a variety of modes, including zero data loss (though there will be perforamance and availability implications for this sort of setting).
I don't understand the second part of your question.
how are the tables gonna be structured? This will depend entirely on your application. You don't need anything special in your data model to use DataGuard.
because this is a client based application...so it requires an updatable table or sourceI don't follow this at all.
can i get some details or a shema that shows how to put these tables togetherNor do I follow this
let's say we have one main server or source and only two other client applicationsWhat do you mean by "two other client applications"? Do you really mean applications (i.e. a collection of J2EE, .NET, PHP, etc components)? Or are you coming back to a multiple database setup with replication?

  • Looking for newer Mobo, like the MS-7345 Platinum P-35.

    Hello,
I'm thinking about upgrading my P-35 MS-7345. I really like the MSI brand. I'm going on 5 years, but because of possible GPU issues (like screen ghosting, Non-responding, and timer continues to spin, even when I make a very simple video action, like adding a transition, everything freezes and hangs, to the point of rebooting.
Some people have asked if i updraded Win7 drivers for the MSI boardw hich i'm sure i did. Some asked me to check the board for bad or damaged caps, so I checked both the GPU, and Mobo, but could not see anything.  Then someone told me it could be the Power supply...really?
In looking at Video cards, Like the PNY Quadro 600 ($150.00) requires a PCi-E 2.0x16, which I have now, but the higher end cards like the PNY Quadro 2000, ($400.00) and others, reqiuire a PCI-E 3.0x16.
WISHY WASHY~  Don't know if i should wait to get a new mobo, before I buy a new card, becuz it's going to be a while. I don't want to buy the Q600 DDR3 now, to be obsolete and a non-performer compared to the Q2000 DDR5, which would be more faster, then I wonder, i7, more DDR3 memory, and a new Mobo, then use a slower DDR3?  Ummmmmm.
To be honest, I like MSI, I bought my new MSI Platinum five years ago, and love it!  I'd like to keep it if i could, but technology supercedes practicallity, with the newer atx case with front USB 3.0 (mine is only 2.0....if it's backward compatible, then fine.) I'd like to ahead of the game, but not if i'm going to go BROKE!
With my old build, with the mobo, Intel Quad Q6600,700W Toughpower PSU, memory, hard drives, That set me back about $1200.00.
So..... for someone like me who is not a gamer, does not overclock, wants a minimum of 32GB DDR3, 700W PSU, three SATAII hard drives, does anyone have some Mainboard choices of newer LGA 1155 or 2011 that would either of these work?
This time, I'll need the i7 (or i5) new mobo, new DDR3 memory...up to minimum 16GB, maybe 32GB, and that's that. I'll use what I can,. or give or sell this tower and everything inside to my sister.
I was only looking at these two for specs:
    Z77A-G43 DDR3 1600  LGA 1155 ($ 97.00)  OR
    X79A-GD65 (8D) ATX DDR3 2400 ($ 291.00)
    I know the MS-7345 Platinum is off the production, but is there a board out there that's similar to the MS-7345 P-35?  {it's just easy to set up.}

If you already looked at X79A-GD65 (8D) and you are going for 16GB ram minimum or 32GB a Socket 2011 Core i7 would be a good choice. If you are just looking for an easy to setup system a X79A-GD45-8D would be of the same socket without any flaws but still somewhat less expensive.
