Itunes match before or after?

If I pay the $30 bucks for itunes match, does any body know if  itunes or icloud, would have stored/kept my old burned cds in my old itunes acount and computer. I have a new PC and when I pull up the old itunes account, only my purchased songs show up. But how about all my music from the burned cds? If I purchase itunes match will it remember those burned cds and bring them up? or will it only save burned cds from the time I purchase , on forward?

If you are wanting to put transfer data from your old computer to your new one then this Apple KB article will help you do that: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If you want to purchase iTunes Match so you can have access to all your music on all your devices, then you need to do so from iTunes, on a computer that already has the music files on it. For iTunes Match to work the music files must be on the computer.

  • HT4914 I need to cancel iTunes Match before I can change my credit card details? How do I do that?

Someonme PLEASE remind me why I hate Apple so much!
Everything is SDO much work and drama to change or fix!
I've recently relocated to the US and needt o update my credit card details. I did the address, etc.
I keeps telling me that I need to cancel iTunes Match before I can change my credit card details? How do I do that?

You can't do it yourself. If the unspent balance is at least as much as the value of the gift card, ask the iTunes Store staff to put the balance back onto the card. If not, it's not possible at all.

  • How come itunes match takes up so much space on an iphone even before you download any songs? I noticed my storage space went down about 1gb after enabling itunes match before I downloaded anything.

A couple things about itunes match. First, why does it take up so much space before you download any songs when you enable it on an iphone? Also, why does it not give back that space when you disable itunes match? It would also be very appreciated if Apple would add a confirmation check to itunes match in settings when you disable it - the same way they do when you enable it. More then once I have disabled itunes match when I meant to disable show all music, and it is a pain to wait for itunes match to go through the whole process of enabling itself again.

It is not a bug. However you may leave your polite feedback for Apple at this page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • ATV 2 - iTunes Match stops playing after a few songs

I have iTunes match and it will abruptly stop after playing a few songs. It will reboot the ATV 2. Same thing happens if I'm airplaying from my iPad 2 or iPhone 5. However if I'm airplaying my sound from my Mac to the ATV 2 and playing songs through iTunes 11, it works fine
    Any suggestions?

  • Questions about iTunes Match before subscribing

I'm thinking about signing up for iTunes Match so that I can access my music on my Apple TV without my MacBook Pro being on. I have 1,575 songs in my library and 1,275 of the are purchased from the iTunes store. Will iTunes, match all the songs inlcuding the ones I purchased or the 300 that I ripped off a CD? Also since the songs will be matched that means I can download them from any device right? Will I also be able to delete the orginial files off my computer and then download the ones that were matched? My last question is after one year and I don't re-subscribe will I still be able to keep the matched songs? Someone please help me with these questions so that I can subrscribe as soon as possible. Thank you

A search of the forum would have turned up these answers for you.
Most songs that you have purchased from the iTunes store will be identified as "purchased." Only songs that are imported into iTunes from other sources such as CD or Amazon's service are eligible to be "matched" or "uploaded." Any imported songs that are not "matched" will be "uploaded." But do not expect 100% accuracy at any rate. When you download "purchased" songs to your library, or another computer, or an iDevice you are getting the same song you already have. When you download "matched" songs you are getting the version from the iTunes store, and "uploaded" songs are obviously the same songs that are already in your iTunes library.
For imported songs that are "matched" that you might download they are yours to keep. If you choose not to renew your iTunes Match subscription nothing at all will happen to the songs that you downloaded from the store.
However, if your primary purpose is to upgraded existing music you might be disappointed in the results.

  • HT204406 Itunes match stops loading after step 2

Itune stops fontionning after Itunes Match has loaded step 2.  Why?

    Hi there
I was having this same issue after re-enabling iTunes Match despite it having worked previously.
It turned out to be a problem with some of the new tracks i'd added since the last time it was enabled. To locate them, I had to wait until the match process was on step 2 and got to the point where it stopped matching. It got to something like 9822 of 9870 songs.
In the songs view I then changed the visible fields to include the iCloud Status field, then sorted the songs by this field.
When I scrolled to the bottom there were the exact number of remaining songs sitting on the "Waiting" status. All of these were new additions. I removed them from the library and retried the match and it completed perfectly. I'm now re-adding the songs back into the library one album at a time to see if they will match now.
    Fingers crossed...

  • ITunes Match not syncing after changing stores.

i have noticed this before. i have accounts in 2 different countries. if i go to the other store for an app on my iPhone or iPad, my iTunes Match no longer syncs. now i am reading in other posts that you can only change stores every 90 days??? is there no way around that? 3 months is a bit long not to have any music on my portable devices.

ok, sorry, i figured it out. when switching stores, it evidently turns off the iTunes Match option in your settings on that device. you must go to settings/music and turn the iTunes Match option on again.

  • ITunes Match not working after upgrade

After upgrading to iOS 6 ota on my ipad3 my iTunes Match is not showing any songs. I get the artists and albums, but they are empty. I hav shut iTunes Match off, then on without results. I have reset my iPad without results. Any insight appreciated. It works fine on my iPhone 4 after upgrade.

Yeah, so I did the full restore recommended by other posters, and that fixed the issue for me, as well. I backup my phone to iCloud, so these are the steps I took:
Backed up the phone by going to Settings -> iCloud -> Storage & Backup -> Back Up Now
Reset the phone by going to Settings -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings
When phone started back up, I went through the initial setup screens, connected to a WiFi network, then selected the option "Restore from iCloud Backup", entering my Apple ID + password
After a couple of restarts on its own, my phone froze starting up (black screen w/ silver Apple, progress bar frozen), and despite a couple of hard restarts by holding power + home button, it kept freezing at startup at the same point. I had to connect my phone to my computer and wipe it via iTunes (select the iPhone in the left navbar, then click "Restore"), then I did steps #2 and #3 again, and this time it restored properly. Now, all my iTunes Match songs and playlists show up and play properly.
If my phone hadn't frozen in mid-restore, it wouldn't have been that painful, but, still, kind of irritating that it was necessary.

  • ITunes Match Not Working After Update to iOS 6.1

I updated my iPhone 5 to 6.1 Now when I select a song using iTunes Match the song/artist/artwork isn't the song that plays. Has anyone else experienced this?I've turned match off to erase all songs and re-enabled it again, but I'm still getting the wrong songs. It works fine in iTunes, just not on the phone. Any ideas?

Since update iTunes Match has not worked on my iPhone. I can see playlists and songs but not albums or artists. Have searched for solution with no joy. Sorry!

  • ITunes match not working after restoring device

    Hi!
I enabled iTunes Match on my iPhone 4.
I downloaded some songs to keep them stored on my device.
    All worked like a charm.
I restored my iPhone 4 to correct some issue, but now the songs I downloaded doesn't play!
All my iTunes Match is working, except for those songs.
They still appear as downloaded on my device, if I tap on them, they appear as playing, but there is no sound, nor the playing bar goes on.
If I connect the iPhone to iTunes Mac via USB, this songs don't appear in the list.
    How can I fix it?

iTunes Match has a series of updates / fix underway in the background, sadly no annoucement from Apple to cover.  Suggest as a short term free alternate Google Play Music and the gBeats app on IOS - it just works for up to 20000 Songs.
iTunes Match is working in the UK but can be unusually slow, certainly it can not be relied upon - a great pity.

  • Cannot connect to itunes store before and after update ios 8.2,  What can i do ?

I updated to iOS 8.2 about 2 hours age and I get an error saying "cannot connect to iTunes Store" every time I try to update existing apps or download new apps. I restarted my phone, disconnected from wifi, reconnected to wifi...nothing is working. Under iTunes & App Store settings, I signed out and now get the "cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when trying to sign back in. I know my Apple ID and password are correct.

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.
    Do not change your settings.

  • My iTunes Match won't load past step 1; All songs in my library say "Exceeded Limit", even the ones that were uploaded before.

My iTunes Match hasn't been working for a couple of days. It said I had exceeded the song limit, so I was going through my library and clearing out some songs. When I deleted the songs, the box that asked if I wanted to delete them from the cloud wasn't showing up. I decided to update my iTunes Match before deleting anything else. When I attempted the update, Step 1 moved incredibly slowly, then stopped working before reaching Step 2. When this has happened in the past, I have been advised to try several troubleshooting tactics from the support forum and from writing to Apple support in the past. The first one is to turn off iTunes Match, restart the computer, and turn on iTunes Match again. I did that. The same problem occurred. I tried the second trouble shooting tactic, which was to turn off iTunes Match, close iTunes, find the iTunes Library Genius.itdb and iTunes Library Extras.itdb and move them to the trash, then run a Repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility, then turn iTunes Match back on. I tried that. The same problem occurred. I went to my iTunes library to see the iCloud status of my songs, and every single song was listed as not being in the cloud yet and had the "Exceeded Limit" status, even the songs that have been in my cloud for over a year. I checked a few of the forum topics here on the support site. One suggested opening up iTunes while holding down the Option button, creating a new library, then turning on iTunes Match and deleting songs from the cloud that way. Then open up the original library and turn on iTunes Match. I did that. The status of my songs hasn't changed, nor can iTunes Match load past Step 1. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Maybe I didn't explain it properly, but that's one of the things I described trying in my first post. It helped get songs out of my cloud that I didn't need there, but iTunes Match still couldn't get past the first step. Last night I deleted the iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes library Genius.itdb, iTunes Library.it, and iTunes Library.xml files from my computer, entered Time Machine, and recovered those same files that had been backed up after the last time I added music (the time the problem began.) After recovering those files I opened iTunes and turned Match back on. For some reason, it worked, even though those were the files that existed when the problem initially occurred. The combination of having songs removed from the cloud as well as restoring those original files must have done something, but I have no idea why that fixed the problem.

  • Cannot revert iPhone to before iTunes Match

I've gone through and deleted my entire library.  I've turned off iTunes match on my phone.  I then synced my iphone to put all of my music back onto my phone.
The problem is that now I have two versions of every song available on my phone: the one actually put there, and the one in the cloud.  I don't want to download the songs from the cloud, because I get in situations where I have slow or no connectivity, and this means I can't listen to an album without pusing through the cloud songs.  For some reason, this also affects the songs that should exist physically on my phone.  It's become a pain to listen to music on my phone now, I either get to hear the song twice or I get to wait a long time between songs.
Do I have to kill itunes match altogether?

After time on the phone with Apple, if you're experiencing the same problem, you have to restore the iphone through itunes, which of course erases everything.  Still, the problem is fixed.

  • Playlists missing from iOS device after signing out from iTunes Match

    Hi, everyone!
I've just signing up to iTunes Match service and after I went Settings > iTunes and App Stores menu and disabling iTunes Match, all of my iOS playlists synced from computer are missing, just the tracks I've wirely synced from my Mac computer are there.
Can anyone have a tip to solve this? I'm kind of disappointed with the service because musics in the cloud take long time to stream to my iOS.

I have found that scrolling through the album list (past albums without art) triggers the progress wheel next to the wifi symbol. You can scroll quickly through the whole collection and then wait! Artwork will appear gradually...
However, repeat visits to the Music App might initially show no artwork again, but it might spontaneously appear more quickly this time. The bad news is that the whole Music App is now sluggish as ****...
