I have some albums which i have purchased on iTunes using my iPhone which do not have all of the songs for the album when viewed on my mac. E.G. I have one third of the Live Lounge Album. The other songs are there but only play the preview, however when I go to the iTunes Store it states the complete album is purchased and will not let me reinstate it. what do i do?

Hello matthewt82,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that some of the songs in a purchased album are not playing all the way through.  To help resolve this issue I'd like you to please delete the songs from your Mac, and then download them again from your previous purchases list.
Mac or PC
Open iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
Click Songs in the navigation bar.
Click the song you want to delete.
Press Delete on your keyboard.

  • Songs not playing complete in itunes

I have songs in itunes that are complete but only a short piece of them play? Once transfered to my ipod, the short piece is all that plays as well?
    Help

I was having a similar problem in that nothing would happen when I selected some of my songs to play. The file was in the itunes music folder, and all the info was correct but it would not play. Finally, I had to copy the songs which would not play to a DVD, remove the DVD from the drive and restart iTunes. Then when I selected the same songs to play I got the message that the "song was not available, did I want to locate it." I selected "yes", reinsterted the DVD and browsed to the song. After reimporting each of the songs I selected "Consolidate the library" to copy all the songs back into the itunes music folder.
This is definitely a time consuming process but at least now all my songs play. Also, I am backing up my library to a new set of DVD's because I want to be sure to have all of my music backed up.
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes songs not playing

    Hello,
A few songs that I downloaded from iTunes are not showing up in my iTunes library. They are located on my desktop and when I try to play them, iTunes opens but nothing happens (the songs do not appear). When I try to play the songs using windows media player it says that the "file has an extension that does not match the file format" and then "one or more codecs required to play the file could not be found." Lots of files were moved around on my computer, could this be why? Is there anything I can do to be able to play these songs again? Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
    Thanks:)

Have you moved your music around? Sounds like it's been moved and is not where iTunes expects to find it.

  • ITunes+ Songs not playing in Windows Media Player 11

So I got a new PC. On the previous PC i had been using windows Media player and playing songs purchased in iTunes+ in WMP.
So I transferred all my songs to an external HD. Then on my new PC I pointed the folder in WMP to the external HD and it imported all my music, except for my iTunes+ songs.
I have also purchased 2 new iTunes+ songs and they will not import into WMP or play in WMP.
What do I need to do?

Is it possible the problem is that on the previous pc I was running Windows 7 and on the new PC I'm running Vista Premium?

  • HT201272 Songs/albums i purchased on iTunes do not play completely all the way to the end of the song. What happened? And what can I do to remedy this? I feel short-changed.

    What do I do please?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those incomplete songs from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • Songs not playing completely

A few of my songs won't play all the way through in iTunes - they get about a minute or so in, then skip to the next song.
I've tried modifying the stop times, but none of that seems to be working. I've tried creating AAC versions, but 'an unknown error occurred (-3)'
    Anyone able to help?

I've just updated itunes on Windows, thought they might have solved the problem.... They didn't.
Some songs keep cutting off at the 2.37 mark around there.....
Otherwise all songs are fully playable on VLC and windows media.
What is it? the coding or LAME??
I see this problem has been around for some time without any help from Apple/iTunes to fix and a simple fix at that.....
I shouldn't have to delve into the computer system to find this and alter that.. A simple fix is what needed here.

  • Purchased songs from Itunes STILL not playing on ipod mini

I read all the posts about this issue, of purchased Itunes songs not playing on ipod. I deauthorized the computer and all computers associated with the account. then re authorized them. I reset the ipod several times, and also restored the ipod. I reinstalled the itunes software. I changed the sync to manual. removed one of the purchased songs. reauthorized the computer, then manually added the song back. I renamed the song. I even tried with downloading the free song. Any other suggestions. It made me look bad when after all of this I still could not fix the users issue. Other than declaring it a HARDWARE issue, I thought there could be a registry setting with the authorizing that did not happen properly. Has anyone else experienced this issue , and NOT been able to fix it. It would really appreciate any advice. My only conclusion was hardware, and the user states they had already spoke with apple who declined to help.

It may be an authorization issue. Both iTunes and the iPod need to be up-to-date.
Usually, you need to play at least a part of songs purchased from the iTMS within iTunes to authorize them. They won't copy to your iPod until you do this.
How to transfer Purchased Music from iTunes to your iPod
    iTMS Song and Computer Authorization
If you've played & authorized them in iTunes and they still skip, try this. De-authorize the computer in iTunes/Advanced menu, then re-authorize it. You re-authorize it by playing one of the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store within iTunes. It should ask you for your Apple ID and password, and then the computer will be authorized again. Sync your iPod with iTunes, and those songs should play on the iPod once again.
Another common cause of this is not having the latest version of iTunes.
If you are using the latest version of iTunes (6.0.4), then you need to make sure your iPod software is up to date also. Get the iPod Updater software, install it, run it and update your iPod.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it within iTunes, re-sync your iPod, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
If the above 'standard' fixes did not help, then it's a bigger problem that I can diagnose...

  • Purchased album and all songs do not play completely. Please help

I recently purchased an album on Itunes and some of the songs from the album do not play completely.  They start and then stop a few minutes in.  I called customer service and they said to redownload the album but its not giving me that option.
My Ipod is no longer syncing my music added either.  Any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

  • HT1349 My songs in iTunes are not playing all the way through on my MAC or my iPod?

My songs in itunes are not playing all the way through on my MAC

Quicktime Player should already be installed on the Mac. If you transferred Quicktime from a VAIO it will not run on a Mac -- no PC software will without using a special interface.
Right click or control+click on one of the files, then > Open with Quicktime Player.
I already suspect that since these files will  not play completely on any of your devices that you have an incomplete download.

  • ITunes will not play songs on NAS drive

I have a WD My Cloud NAS drive with all my music.  I've been playing the music through iTunes for the last year or so on my Windows 7 Professional PC.  I just upgraded to iTunes 12.1.0.71 and now iTunes will not play any of my music.  iTunes still sees all the music on my NAS drive but clicking the play button does nothing.  Only way I can get anything to play is to import the albums/songs into my playlist in iTunes, something I really don't want to do.

    Hi Josh,
I have exactly the same issue.  I also have many songs I purchased on iTunes that will not download.  It seems random.  I have 3 recently purchased albums that only half the tracks on one album will download, most on another, but only 2 on another.  It's annoying!  I keep tapping download and they just give up saying Cant connect to iTunes'. Even though it is.
Regardless, I have too exactly the symptoms you described, but had them periodically before today.  Again, not sure if its related, but have you recently got an Apple TV?

  • TS1362 I bought songs that do not play completely.

I recently purchased a couple songs that do not play completely. The songs stop midway through and also, when I try to progress the song through the slide bar on the player it just skip to the next song. Is there a way to fix it?

Delete the current copies and then download again (free) from your purchased history. If the problem persists contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.
