ITunes sync freezing using iOS7

My iPhone gets stuck during step 5 of 5 "Waiting for changes to be applied" while syncing with my iTunes Library. I'm using Mac OS 10.6.8, iTunes V. 11.1 and iOS 7

Me too.  I tried:
+ deleting Caches
+ emptying trash
+ Applications > Utilities > Disk Utilities > Repair Disk
This did not fix the issue.  However during the disk repair I saw quite a few disk permission errors.  After restarting my Mac and re-running Repair Disk it looks like the same number of errors are there.  I suspect there is something in this area that is causing the issue.

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen iTunes Sync Freezing Issue

My iPod Touch 4th Generation freezes during the "Backing up" stage of sync. Nothing I have tried so far has resolved this issue and it's getting very annoying seeing as how I can't sync my iPod at all. I know it isn't just the iPod's fault, because it happened to my older one too. I've done everything I have found people suggesting and none of it has worked. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
I am running Windows 7 64-Bit platform on iTunes 10.6.0.40

  • Itunes Sync Freezes / Locks Up

I have iTunes 8.0.2.20 installed on my VISTA PC. I have two ipod touch's in the house and an ipod classic. I am having problems with itunes freezing whilst synchronising, particulalry with the two touch's. Most commonly when down loading apps but not exclusively.
    I have tried
    deauthorising and reauthorising the computer
    unistalling loads other applications
    unistalling and reinstalling iTunes
The problem occurs with both 2.2 and 2.2.1 of the firmware on the touch's.
Any suggestions as to what could be conflicting with them or causing this?

  • ITunes 10.6.3.25 is not syncing/freezes every time!

    Tech Stats:
    Windows 7 (32-bit) on a Toshiba Notebook
32GB iPod Touch - purchased in April 2012
    iTunes 10.6.3.25
I'm running iTunes 10.6.3.25 on Windows 7 (32-bit), trying to sync a 32GB iPod Touch. It detects the iPod and 'starts' the sync with the candy cane-striped bar, but then it freezes.
    It generally varies between:
    "Preparing to Sync"
    "Determining tracks to sync"
    "Backup"
    "Checking Downloads"
    "Waiting for sync to start"
"Waiting for changes to be applied"
before it freezes completely and/or won't do ANYTHING. I either have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to stop it (as it comes up 'Not Responding' in Windows Task Manager) or disconnect the iPod from the USB port altogether, whereupon iTunes starts to work again.
There is a VERY RARE occasion when it will start to sync music - 'Syncing music to "My iPod" (Step 5 of 5)', 'Copying 3 of 1233' - then freeze and show "Finishing sync" with the candy cane-striped bar moving for a LONG time, never stopping, and it's only synced a few songs (on one occasion, the max. number of synced songs was 33 out of over 1200). Space and capacity on the iPod is never an issue as I rarely have an iPod (any model) filled to capacity. I still have about 28GB of space left.
A couple of times while the candy cane bar is churning away, I've attempted to eject the iPod. Of course I was asked if I was sure I wanted to and I clicked 'yes', and it came up with a green scrolling bar that said 'Syncing iPod'. It kept scrolling forever with no end in sight. I ended up disconnecting the iPod.
I've tried each of these steps several times:
    Rebooting my laptop.
    Restarting iTunes.
    Resetting my iPod.
    Using different USB ports.
    Using different USB cables.
Re-installing 10.6.3.25 without uninstalling it - Downloading it from Apple and choosing the 'Repair' option.
    Using iTunes in Safe Mode.
Deleting and resetting sync history in iTunes.
    Wi-Fi Sync.
Uninstalling iTunes and going back to an old version (10.5.3.3) - still couldn't sync.
Uninstalling ALL iTunes components as per these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
    Re-installing 10.6.3.25.
My ABSOLUTE LAST, bottom-of-the-barrel option would be restoring my iPod completely. However, I AM apprehensive about doing this.
I've never had trouble with iTunes before. Only recently (10.6.3.25 and the version prior) did I have trouble syncing, where I connected the iPod and it took several clicks of the 'Sync' button before it would finish it completely without freezing or doing it 'piece-by-piece'. My Firewall settings have never had an impact on anything to do with iTunes.
I HAVE noticed, however, that every so often, my Anti-Virus program (McAfee) will come up with a red warning saying that my 'Real Time Scanning' has been turned off and that my computer is at risk. So I turn it back on again, but it doesn't make a difference to anything. Since I was infected with malware late last year, I don't want to risk getting something nasty again.
I DID, however, lose a few playlists from the current iTunes AND my iPod recently and got them back by following the instructions on this site: http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/07/itunes-playlists-disappeared-recover-missing-itun es-playlists/. I got my playlists back but then this whole drama started with not being able to sync at all.
I'm at my wit's end, I can't figure out what's going on and I don't know what to do next.
EVERYTHING else on the iPod is working flawlessly - games, apps, I even kept my iBooks! - but the problem with syncing is BEYOND me. I've been scouring the internet for days trying to find something that'll help me fix this problem but to no avail.
So please, PLEASE help me! I'm begging you, any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey thanks for replying.
    Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!

  • Purchased movie sync-back to iTunes causes Freeze

iTunes consistently freezes while transferring a purchased movie from the Apple TV to the iTunes Library during a sync. iTunes always freezes at the same point in the transfer, and is 100% repeatable. In fact, I have not been able to to use iTunes since making this movie purchase on the Apple TV.

The transfer consistantly fails about 25% completion. Not sure of the exact %, but the bar always stops at the same position.
There is no failure message. iTunes begins to consume 100% CPU utilization, and must be force quit. It is unresponsive.
This was the first purchase made since upgrading to v2.3.
I have restarted both my MacBook, and the Apple TV with no change in results.
I am unable to use iTunes because it freezes (see above) as soon as it finds the Apple TV on the network and begins to transfer the purchased movies to the iTunes Library.

  • ITunes 9.2 Freezes using Windows 7 - Please Help!!

Hi, i'm currently using iTunes 9.0.0.70 on a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ430E laptop with Windows 7. I tried to upgrade my version of iTunes to 9.2 and everything seems to run through and install fine until i actually try and open the 9.2 version. What happens then, is when i double click the iTunes program shortcut, absolutely everything on my computer comes to a complete and utter halt. And by that i mean i cannot move my the cursor controlled by my mouse, pressing ctrl alt & del does nothing and i basically have to switch the laptop off by pressing the button until the whole thing switches off. I've tried running iTunes again once the restart has taken place but the same thing happens - complete freeze of everything on my computer. The little hard disk light stops flickering and nothing happens at all. So i uninstalled iTunes 9.2 and have now gone back to using 9.0.0.70.
Now, i've also got an iPhone 3GS with which i used the computer (PC tower) downstairs to install the OS4. As you can probably imagine, i am now in a position whereby i cannot connect my iPhone to iTunes 9.0.0.70 because it says it needs iTunes 9.2 to be able to do anything. There is where my problem truly lies. I do not mind using iTunes 9.0.0.70 but becasue all of my music, media etc is on my laptop, it now means my iPhone is rendered pretty much useless because iTunes does not and will not recognise it because it has OS4 and needs iTunes 9.2 to be able to sync to my phone.
I need to be able to install iTunes 9.2 but every bloody time i do so, it freezes up when i try to open the program and i cannot sync my iPhone cos the only iTunes i can use is 9.0.0.70!!
Can anyone please help me with this!?????

    A 652?
Some digging at Microsoft answers indicated that this can sometimes be associated with trouble with the Windows Installer. Does the following technique help?
+I followed the following steps (found on a goggle search) and tehn installed the updates+
+1 - Navigate to "Services and Applications" in Computer Management. (right click on Computer and click Manage) DO THIS UNDER LOGIN WITH ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS.+
    +2 - Expand the Services and Applications+
    +3 - Click on Services+
+4 - In the right side of window sort by Name and go down to Windows Installer. By default the start up type will be set to Manual. (You will notice that the status will read 'Started' even though you know that it is not really running)+
+5 - Right click on it and select properties+
+6 - In the middle of the popup box you will see Startup Type. Use the drop down arrow and select 'Disabled' and click apply.+
+7 - Close out and reboot. The service is now set to disabled so on reboot it will not still think it has been started. Now follow the above steps again and select 'Manual' and click apply and close out the Computer Management screen.+

Which application are you watching the videos..... QuickTime, VLC, etc.?  Which version?  If QT are you using v10 or v 10.7.x?  The latter is located inside your Utilities folder.  If using VLC, you should  be using the latest version.
Type of video files = .mov, .mp4, .mkv, etc.?

I have a used mac computer. I want to sync and update my iphone. Currently itunes tells me that my iphone is connected to a different itunes account and will sync, but delete everything from my phone. How do I make itunes sync and update my phone without deleting all the current information on my phone?

Iphone will sync with one and only one cpomptuer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.  This is the design of the  iphone.
It will erase the content when you sync.
Why not update from the comptuer with which you normally sync?

  • TS2776 I purchased an Itune Audio Book using a borrowed Windows Computer and Downloaded the book to that Computer. I than tried to sync to my IPod Nano (7). I received an error Message " THe [title] was not copied to the Ipod [name] Becuase you are not au

I purchasd an ITune Audio Book using a borrowed Windows Computer. After the Download I attempted to Sync and was told that I was synced to a different [something]. It then asked if I wanted to sync to this [Something] I said yes. IT wiped all the stuff off my IPod then gave the following message:
The [title] was not copied to the iPod [name] becuse you are not authorized for it on this computer.
How can I get this to work?
It considered the computer pretty acceptable when it took my money for the title. I think I have been ripped off.
THis whole SYNC is an innecessay step. Why can't I just download stuff to my iPod (from any sourch by the way) and delete it from my iPod when I don't want it any more.

    Hello LeaMinovitch,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes Store: Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
To authorize a computer, follow these steps:
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You may need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still authorize your computer.
In some cases, iTunes may ask you to authorize the computer again. iTunes should use the same authorization as before if the computer is in your list of authorized computers.
Learn what to do if iTunes repeatedly asks you to authorize when you try to play your content.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)
