ITunesU freezes iPad

Running iTunesU 1.3 on my iPad 2 iOS 6.1. I was attempting to download the lecture 4 video for the Stanford "CS193P Winter 2013" course. All of the following froze my iPad 30ish seconds after the trigger requiring a reboot:
Click on the iCloud icon, then stop it while still 'Preparing to Download' (tried this three times)
Click on the iCloud icon, then stop after the download has begun
Start the down load, the switch networks (screen went black for this one, still froze)

Additional note: it downloaded with no issues once I left it alone after starting the download (my initial post was concurrent with the download.)

Can't Sync iTunesU on iPad

I've downloaded a course using the iTunesU app on my iPad and can see the content on the iPad. I've plugged the iPad in to iTunes on Windows and want to sync the content, but I can't get anything to appear in iTunes.
I have an iTunesU folder in iTunes but it's empty. When I click on the iPad and select the iTunesU folder, I can see that it has 23 items in it (which is right - it's the number of items in the course). However, when I sync nothing appears on the PC. I haver ticked the option to sync, so I would have expected everything to appear.
If I go in to the iPad settings and check out the usage, it tells me I have 16Gb in my Music folder, which I assume is the content of this course, but I can't see any way to get it off the iPad and on to the PC in iTunes. This also brings up the question of how I go about deleting the materials as I progress through the course!
There is no " iTunesU" setting section in the 'settings' in the iPad.
Does anyone know how to transfer the content? I've also tried transferring my purchases from the iPad and subscribiung to the course in iTunes on the PC.

The really fustrating part is, if I tick to sync iTunesU and select to include all items, then I see a count of 23 but can't see the categories and nothing syncs. If I select to sync anything else (unread etc) I get a count of 0 and get a blank list of categories.
Why does something this simple have to be this hard???
I have checked and I am signed in.

Video App Freezes iPad 2

Shouldn't the app state cannot play, rather than stay dark, become unresponsive and not allow other videos to play?? WEAK software --BUG fix! Discussion is full of this issue--where is the fix? The app used to play videos needs to be more ROBUST! Had to do a complete restore - not even owned for a week yet!

New IPad2 here. Downloaded first film from iTunes store couple days ago. Started watching tonight. After 60 min the video froze. Backing it up a few minutes and playing again led to a second freeze at same spot. Third try: same result.
Then tried sliding past the "freeze spot". This gave me a black screen. Now I cannot get past that black screen: not after quitting Videos App; not after iPad shut_down/restart; not after iPad reSET; not after all SETTINGS were reset and iPad again reSET.
I think I'll try googling for how to delete a [pre-installed ] app. I'm not optimistic. May mean 90 min drive to a Genius bar

Different keyboard show up and freeze iPad

I went to Japanese FNN news site and three different key board show up and freeze my iPad in two to three days.

Three different key board showing up in a same web site, FNN news Japan.
Also video icon was sometime showing up the mark of slash.
Is this error of website or safari's problem?

Apple France does not want to replace my freezing iPad !!!

I have bought a 16Gb wifi only iPad in May, and since then i have been suffering the dreaded " freeze while playing streaming media" bug. Using streamtome, air video, dailymotion and even youtube makes my iPad freeze with only way of rebooting is a hard reset (home + power)
The unit been sent to apple care for diagnosis since the nearest apple store is like 800km from where I live....
They then sent it back to me saying they were not able to replicate the issue,
I reloaded air video , crash, StreamToMe, crash, Youtube, crash....
So i decided to call apple support over the phone once more, and after 35 minutes with some random girl, she told me that they would not exchange it, it's a known issue and apple engineers are working on it.
I told her that I dont want to wait because it looks like an hardware bug that affected quite some people and apple has not issued anything on a coming soon software fix for streaming media on it
and people in the U.S got their unit replaced, so I highly doubt its a software issue.
Still they dont want to replace it........
I only have the iPad about 2 months and I think I m entitled to have a working unit
So can someone help me make these geniuses over at apple european support understand that they should replace my iPad because it has hardware failure as noted in this forum ????

Call the Apple tech support phone line and ask to speak with someone in Customer Relations. If you can get through to a Customer Relations representative, explain the situation and ask for assistance in resolving the problem. Perhaps that might generate some results.
But it could well be something Apple feels that they will be able to fix in software, even if it's a hardware-based issue; many hardware bugs are worked around in software. So Apple may have decided not to replace units affected by this problem and to indeed have people wait for a software update. So a Customer Relations rep may give you the same answer. But it's worth trying.

ITunes U video freezes iPad video app

I just downloaded the new iTune U app. Went to the iTunes U and selected a video. When I went to wat the video my app froze! The video starts to play then black screen and I have to restart. I tried to restart the iPad but the video automatically starts and freezes!!...HELP..! Can't watch any other videos!

Well I seem to have fixed my own problem...not sure why it worked. I connected my iPad to my laptop and did a normal line connect sync.... The wireless was not working for some reason. Once the changes took place I disconnected and the video worked. Not sure why I had to do this...but I will NOT be using the IPad for iTunes U crap downloads...what awoke Apple!

Need to stop a download in iTunesU on iPad

I accidentally tapped the download of a video lecture instead of the audio-only version. I cannot stop the downloads in progress. The mechanisms in place for iTunes don't seem to work for iTunesU. How do I stop downloads in progress on an iPad in iTunesU?

A round stop button appears next to the download cloud after you tap it to start your download. Tapping the stop button will stop the download.
If you don't see a download cloud, you likely have enabled "auto download" for that course. To disable it, tap the gear icon at the top right to manage settings.

Camera connection kit freezing iPad

When I disconnect the connection kit usb adapter (no usb cable attached, just adapter) it freezes my iPad.
My iPad is gonna iOS 3.2.2, 64gb wifi version.

It seems to only happen when I disconnect the adapter. I can still connect and disconnect the usb and ipad still works but as soon as i disconnect adapter it freezes.

Headphones freeze iPad when inserted with iOS 6

Just upgraded to iOS 6 for iPad 3. When headphones are plugged in no sound and freezes. What's up with that?

Reset the device did not help me but it does triggers me to attempt to resend the PDF file attachment on email--and it works the 2nd time. My problem is now solved.
The Adobe Reader is very helpful--it allows me to scroll through the document easily, unlike iBooks, where I cannot scroll straight up or down.

HELP QUICKLY! FREEZING IPAD

Hi There! I need some help!
My in laws have an iPad which I bought 3 months ago and it keeps freezing and bringing back deleted emails after i've deleted them!!! I'm not very impressed.
I have tried hard re-setting it but nothing happens.
Should I take it back to the Apple Shop I got it from and swap it over for another one considering its only 3 months old?

As a suggestion, posting here is not the best place to get attention to your issues. This forum is really more for problems with wife and cellular issues, not the general forum for that model of iPad.
That said, here's some boilerplate to get you pointed in the right direction . . .
+A more or less standard sequence of steps is laid out in your User's Guide which you should follow in those cases when either your iPad or an installed app isn't behaving as it should. They sort of mirror 'The Three R's (Restart, Reset, & Restore)' used for iPod troubleshooting, with a few extra iPad-specific things added in to the list.+
+These generic steps are laid out and explained in the Tips & Troubleshooting section of your User's Guide. The directions there will start you out from the quickest and easiest first step, which will often be all you need to do, all the way to the atomic blast fix of totally restoring the iOS and all contents in your iPad. You should also notice that that same section contains a wealth of more specific recommendations for specific apps or situations, and will prove well worth a going-over..+
+You can call AppleCare, and they will probably have you do the same things. Or, you can take it I to a Genius Bar, and they will also go through the same steps. Needless to say, if you work through the whole process without being able to correct your problem, then you've pretty much shot your bolt and will have to start talking to Apple or the app developers for a resolution.+

PDF Freezing iPad

Ive have noticed that over the past couple of weeks, any time I try to view a PDF document on either my iPhone of iPad, the device freezes and won't become active again until I force-close the app I was using but each time i try, the same thing happens. It doesn't seem to matter which app I use (Concur, docs2Go, Pages, safari, or email) or if I view it within an email message. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix it?
I'm up to date on all software and have rebooted the machine but to no avail.

Freezing ipad

My ipad keeps freezing up and it takes a like a minute to get it to turn off. And now we can't always get it to turn back on. Any ideas why it's freezing up? Thanks

It's unlikely anyone could know why it keeps freezing up on you without firsthand experince and watching what is actually going on. There could be a corrupt app or a corrupt file/document causing the problem. Perhaps rebooting the iPad would help if you haven't tried that already.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If this doesn't help, restoring the device is a standard troubleshooting step when things go south and cannot be fixed any other way.

IOS 7 freezing iPad

I downloaded the new iOS system in my iPad. Since downloading, my iPad is frequently freezing. The screens online now have sections cut off, apparently not fitting on the screen. I've also been knocked offline multiple times. What is the fix for this? Is it possible to remove the new iOS system so I have one that works?

Same problem here, I've never had a problem before on my iPad 4, It all started since yesterday after the IOS7 update. Every now and then the screen would just freeze but you can command and hear Siri in the back ground. And if I were to lock the screen, the display would not turn on until a force reboot/shutdown is done. So tell me, what's the point in requiring us to update our devices if it makes it faulty? This is my 2nd iPad as a warranty exchange by the way, About to go in for another one because of the same burn in issue on the retina display that happened with my original one. It disappoints that I've had so many problems including the cheap cables you guys include in the box that has a life expectancy of days. Where there's aftermarket higher quality cables that doesn't kink and sell for cents on the dollar at best buy. These are minor issues that are not a factor, But what's the use of a device when it freezes half of the time? And all because of an update for that matter?. I'm just another customer though, Don't mind my concerns.

Freezing Ipad 3

Suddenly last night my Ipad 3 froze on one app..........then I discovered I couldn't use any apps. I hard re-started since I had hardly even turned it off for the whole 10-11 months Ive owned it but that did nothing to help.
I can't find the place on Itunes to allow me to reset the whole IOS.
What can I do to restore my Ipad? It has worked wonderfully until now.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
