IView from second level navigation merged with Other page

Hi All,
I encountered a typical problem with iViews.
I have second level navigation with links as AAA,BBB,CCC (work sets) added to the Role-1.
CCC is a work set which is been added with pages CCC-1,CCC-2,CCC-3. (CCC-1,CCC-2,CCC-3 are also added to detailed level navigation).
Now on clicking of CCC (second level navigation link), I have page displaying with CCC-1 (which is working as desired).
Now I have page DDD wh.ich is directly to the Role-1. Hence now second level navigation is displaying as AAA,BBB,CCC,DDD on clicking on Role -1 .
Now when I click on CCC, while displaying the contents of CCC-1, DDD (page) is also displaying beneath of the CCC-1.
I don't want this DDD merging with CCC-1.
Can any one help me, how to resolve this issue.

Just a thought : you could create a new workset and put DDD in it and see if that helps.

Controlling visibility of Second Level navigation tabs in portal

Hello,
I have a request to create second level navigation based on user authorizations. The first level nav is called Applications, the second level navs under it are called SAP and BI. I only want to show SAP for some users and BI for others, and in some cases both.
When I created workset Application and assigned SAP and BI worksets under it, no matter that what authorization I give or not give to the user, both of them show up, unless I remove the role for Application worset, then nothing shows up.
If I remove SAP and BI worksets from Application workset, no matter what I do with roles, they do not show up. I kinda guessed that this will happen but just tried something anyway.
Can someone please explain who this can be done or is it not possible?

Hi Alex,
The navigation structure does not depend on authorizations but only on the roles assigned to the user (directly or through groups).
For your structure, you would create two roles, one SAP role and one BI role. Both roles start with an RoleFolder "Applications" as the role EntryPoint, where the child of this node within the SAP role is the SAP workset and the child of this node within the BI role is the BI workset. To get them merged, you will have to maintain the mergeID property on the corresponding elements; see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/53/89503ede925441e10000000a114084/frameset.htm for details of the merging concept and properties (that is what you are looking for).

Second level navigation menu not highlighted

Hello Experts,
We have a par file which is redirecting to a third party website from portal using Response.sendRedirect.Here the issue is when the third party website opens in the same window in portal,second level navigation menu is not getting highlighted,its still highlighting the previously selected menu.We are on EP6 SP16.

I guess that's because you are just redirecting the page & this doesn't refresh the Navigation nodes.
Hence just try adding the below code before redirection.

Redeploy and check. I think it should work.

ESS worksets not visible in second level navigation

Hi all,
I installed ESS 600 sp08 on EP 7.0. I dint changed anything.The ESS worksets should be visible in the second level navigation .But in my case they are not visible in the second level navigation.They are visible in the detailed navigation.
What can be the reason for this?I want the ESS worksets to be visible in second level navigation.
Any clues please.

No refresh second level navigation

Hi,
When I click the same second level navigation item again the selected page or Iview is not refresh its self. When I click another item on the second level navigation and go back to the previous item the page or iview is refreshing.
Does someone has a solution! I'am using portal 7 latest patch

How to best take sections from one document to merge with another Indesign document

I am looking for most efficient way to take a section from one document to merge with a section from another document? We have a book that needs updating, taking a section from one document to merge into another. We have typically copied and paste each page, but there are 20+ pages involved. Does anyone have a better way?

Open both documents.
With source document active, In pages panel, select pages that are to be copied to the destination document
Right Click (or use panel menu) and select Move Pages ...
Double check that correct page range is noted
Select destination document
select where in document pages should appear (beginning, end, after or before page X)

Spry navbar position with other page elements.

2 questions on positioning a horizontal navbar with other page elements.
1.) I replaced a standard horizontal navbar with a spry horizontal bar.
Below the navbar is a simple image div- centering an image on the page.
The image is placed with auto margins r/l to stay centered.
After I replaced the standard navbar with the Spry navbar, the centered image now appears to the right.
What I want is the original design- the Spry navbar to be positioned above the image, drop down menu items can appear over the centered image.
My edited Spry page is not live until it works correctly- the original page without the new menu bar is here- michael-davidson.com)
2.) My plan is to keep the navbar on all my pages- so I'll set it up in a template.
Many of my pages wil consist of simpleviewer galleries- like this; simpleviewer gallery- will it work to put a drop down above the gallery?
Will there be a problem having the Spry navbar drop down over the simpleviewer gallery?

I may have missed it, but I didn't see any style rule that positions your div#navbar. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that if you don't style the div, it will sit on the left of your page.
When you put Spry Menubars above Flash elements, Flash will as a rule put itself in front of other elements.

I have tow itunes libraries. Music from one library has merged with the other and I can not delete the songs. They keep coming back.

I have two ipod touch libraries under my account. One for my daughter and one for me. I bought my daughter an Iphone and then opened her ipod touch libraryon the computer (Windows Vista). I plugged in her iphone so that she can have the stuff from her ipod touch on her new phone. Somehow her library has partially merged with my library. My ipod touch now has some of HER games and music on it. I went into my library and deleted these games and songs, but they keep coming back. How do I get rid of these once and for all. I don't want to be shuffling AC/DC, Rob Zombie, and then get Justin Bieber all of a sudden while sitting at a red light in traffic.

Problem in second level navigation for some users.

We have a group with few users, we have assigned certain roles to that group, all the roles are visible to all but the order of second level navigatin has changed for some users and not for all. Please suggest some solution.

Is there any merging of roles going on?
When you assign new roles, does the 2nd level navigation contain the same nodes but in a different order, or are there additional nodes added?
Perhaps you can explain in more detail the set up.

Linked report from second level drill-down level

Hi,
I have a report with two drill-down levels, Dept Id and Job Id.
The requirement is when I am on Job Id drill level; I have to call another report when I click on any of the Job Id. This Job Id is passed to another report and the report is filtered based on that Job Id.
I created a hyperlink on Job Id drill down level successfully. But the problem is I am unable to go to the first level i.e Dept Id. Actually the hyperlink is displayed and the up arrow is not visible to go to the first level.
Is there any way where after creating a link on second level and opening the report in a new window, the drill up functionality can be maintained?
I am using Business Objects XI 3.1 version.

there is another way to drill down the report of web intelligence.for that we have to customize in the universe level create a folder in custom hierarchy and add your two objects to that folder, i.e empid. and deptid. the order of these objects should be in the way the drilling happens that means if you want to drill down from empid. to deptid. then empid. should be the first object of the folder,save and export the universe to the CMS.Then it ready to use for webi report.Build the query for the report and enable the drill option in the report.Now the report is ready for your requirement.

Rman incremental level 1 merge with level 0

from my reading of the rman backup document, it seems the merger incremental level 1to level 0 for recover only apply to merge with image copy, not the backupset. Is that true? However, such backup scheme will create a huge backup image copy, almost fill up my assigned backup depository directory. Is the following script works as merging with level 0 ?
{backup as compressed backupset incremental level 1 for recover of tag 'bk$LEVEL0' database;}
It run without error and created a very small incr file size, but not sure it has the same meaning of "for recover of copy" as in other document.

If that is true, why we need to create an incremental level 0 backupset as the base for recover? I have one compressed backupset level 0 at beginning, then incremental level 1 for recover. with the "recover of copy with tag", it seems to create a redundant full backup. Also Iam confused, The "recover of copy with tag" is actually an image copy of the full backupset or the image copy of the original database.
My script as for full backup at beginning
{ backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 cumulative device type disk tag 'Baanbk$LEVEL0' database; }
then incremental
{ backup as compressed backupset incremental level 1 for recover of tag 'Baanbk$LEVEL0' database; }

Show Portal Sub-Role on Second Level Navigation

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement, to embed some of our portal roles within some master roles.
Issue
I have a role called Parent_Role on the portal
Then I have two other child roles:
Child1_Role
Child2_Role
Now if I add Child1_Role and Child2_Role as sub roles to the Parent_Role, and then assign the Parent_Role to my User ID, I see both Child1_Role and Child2_Role on the first level of Top Level Navigation. However, I don't see Parent_Role on TLN.
What I need to do is, have Child1_Role and Child2_Role show up on the second level of navigation, and have Parent_Role show up on the first level of navigation.
Is this possible?

Ideally this is what happens what you have requested for , Can you check whether the entry point is yes for you Parent Role.
1.) Create a Parent Role and make entry point "yes".
2) Assign the child roles to the Parent Role.
3) Assign the Parent role to the User.
This should work fine.

Can't open fullbookmark page,2/3 hidden,same with other pages, HELP. Thanks

The bookmarks drop box is in the "middle" of the screen, not on the full left. So cannot see most of the bookmark page(the right 2/3 is hidden). Tried to move the box with mouse, no result. Occurs with other bookmark pages as well. Started 2 days ago. Also missing toolbar with icons at top of screen.For example if I want to print your info/answer, there is no print icon/button. Thanks. PS- keep answer simple as possible as I'm a novice.

Let's start with the toolbars. Do you have any of the toolbar area, including menu bar, tab bar, etc.? If nothing appear, check that you are not in full screen view. The F11 key switches between full screen and normal views.
If an individual toolbar is missing, you can try one of these methods to display it:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar
* right-click the new tab "+" button on the tab bar
* tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars
Any luck?
Regarding your bookmarks list, there are 4 possible ways to get at the list:
* Drop-down menu from the classic menu bar or orange Firefox button
* Drop-down menu from a toolbar button
* Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b)
* Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks")
Could you check and report back on which ones are working and which ones are broken?
