IView personalization is not opening

Hi,
I have an iview which is created from PDK component and it has the following parameters in portalapp.xml:

In the iview prperties show tray is set to yes. But the iview tray is not visible when i open the corresponding workset which has only one page which has only one iview, this one.
Please help me in this issue.

Hi.
I hope you have added the iview to a page, where in the page too you have set the show tray as "true".
If these steps are done.
You need to assign this role to your id in User Management :
role name: Every User Core Role
pcd path: pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_core_role
After this assignement, refresh your portal, you can see the "Personalize" in the Tray icon drop down.

Context Menu in BW Report Iview not opening after upgrade to Portal 7.3

Hi All,
We have a unusual problem that, the Context menu of the BW reports for options like filtering is not opening post Upgrade to Portal 7.3 for End users.
However, with Super Admin role, the Context menu opens for the BW report Iview.
I have tried giving the same permission that the Super Admin Role has on the BW Report Iview to the End users, still no success.
Any idea? Anybody faced same kind of problem?
Please revert for any more info.

This is really a shot in the dark since I have not done much with 7.3. Have you checked for UME actions that are assigned to the administrator but not the end user?

WD Java iView not opening in Safari

Hi All,
System: EP6.0
I have a WD Java iView in portal that opens fine with IE and Mozilla but shows a blank view on Safari.
The same application when viewed directly via link http://<HOST>:<PORT>/webdynpro/dispatcher is also displayed properly
on Safari.
We know that Safari is not the recomended browser etc. but still if the application can be viewed from the above link
there must be something on portal framework that prevents the WD app to be displayed.
Please share your thoughts.

If I recall correctly, I have seen this behavior once using Safari on SAP EP 6.40...
Could you try to set your WD iView isolation method to URL instead of Embedded?
Since the portal uses some additional scripting (EPCM etc) and CSS styling, changing the isolation method might help

Webdynpro for ABAP iView personalization not sticking?

We are currently on EP7 and are having a very odd issue with ABAP Webdynpro iView personalization.
For our Java Webdynpro iViews, we have used iView personalization quite a lot to change field labels, add text, change button text, etcc. all via portal content administration (ctrl+rightclick to make changes from iView preview). These changes would show as custom iView parameters settings on the Java Webdynpro iViews. Then we could put these iViews into our own portal packages and move them to other portals (QA, Production, etc).
However, this is not working quite right with our ABAP Webdynpro iViews. We personalized an iView on our DEV portal. The personalization changes showed just fine for all users (ie. changes to input field labels). However, no new parameter settings show for the iView for the personalization. Also, after packaging, exporting and then importing the iView into the other portals (like moving from DEV to QA), the personalization is gone. We had to manually recreate this on the QA system. However, we do NOT want to do this on the production portal of course nor do we want this to be the method/solution going forward.
So has anyone seen this? Is this some issue/difference between the ABAP and Java webdynpro iView templates?

If it is WebDynPro ABAP iview, if you do the personalization, then your personalization is persisted in ABAP stack. You need to transport it in ABAP i.e R/3 development system to R/3 Quality system. Transporting only iview is not enough.
Note : If you do the personalization for the ABAP iview, it will not be saved in the portal, it will be stored in the ABAP stack.

Transaction iView(from remote source) does not open a new SAP session

Hi All,
We are on portal 7.4 and are calling a transaction from ECC system. Within the transaction we have a button which displays graphs based on the output of the transaction. Since we are calling this transaction from portal, a new session does not open after clicking on this button.
In order to enable a new session, I have changed the configuration for 'disable new session buttons in SAP GUI' to false yet the new SAP session does not open. I have also verified the webgui setting and ensured that we do not have '~singletransaction' maintained, yet we are unable to enable the new session. Could you kindly suggest on how I can get this button to function?
Additional inputs:
- Referred to note 125814 for changing the new sessions value.
- Tried changing the iview type to 'SAP GUI for window' from SAP HTML type(which was default).
- In case I type '/o' in the command box for SAP, it gives me a 'maximum sessions reached' message, but this message does not come when I click on this button. In fact, nothing happens after I click on the button.
I still think there might be a possibility to enable this, however, I seek your inputs on this.

Is strange that from the portal it has a different behaviour...

URL Iview is not open a new Window in FireFox

Hi Guys,
After we upgrade our portal to NW 7.0 EHp2 SP6 , we can not open the URL Iviews in Firefox.
It looks like can't force the iview to open a new window and instead it open a new tab , Any suggestion?

To me, the PAM mentioned Firefox 3.5 is not recommended for NW 7.0 Ehp2 - Firefox 3.6 is supported for NW 7.0 Ehp2 starting with SPS6.
Anyway, if it works in IE & Safari, I don't think it has anything to do with the portal; it's something in Firefox settings. As mentioned before, did you check the option to open new links in new windows? Also, please checkSAP Note 1296463 and its related notes about browsers to see if there's something relevant to your case.

Hi,
It looks like the application was written to run on old IE versions (quirks mode).
Therefore the application will break when the new browser of IE or chrome/firefox render it.
To verify that, you can use an old IE version (e.g. IE7) to run this application and check it it looks o.k.
if so, the application needs to be rewritten in order to suite for new browsers (standards) or to use X-UA-Compatible to inform the IE browser that he should enulate IE7.

MSS iView Personalization

Friends,
We are not able to do Implicit Personalization for MSS iViews/Pages .When we open the iView in preview mode and set the property of a field to invisble mode then click apply and OK the filed gets hidded.But when we open or refresh that iView the field appears again in that iview.So please help in resolving this issue.We are using EP7.0 SP09 with MSS BP1.0 and Self service components 600 SP09.

Although this is a portal related question,I suggest you to check whether the user which is used for personalisation has end user and super admin or not .

POWL OBN links do not open a pop up window in one domain

I am hoping to get some helpful information on a problem with a POWL OBN links not opening a pop-up only in one domain. The issue is described below.
We have deployed the BP for Buyer 1.0, SP15. One of the iViews we use is the My Purchasing Documents and we have enabled the query POWL_PR_MY. Our Portal Version is 7.0 SP21, ECC6 (no EHP).
Query POWL_PR_MY (My Purchase Requisitions) of POWL Application OPS-BUYER-POWL-PURDOC has links with the Purchase Requisition Number. Ideally when the links are clicked on, it should open up the Purchase Requisition transaction with the details of the item. This does not happen in our case.
Our Portal Server is on the domain main.nex.com, but is accessed from the domain drs.nex.com. The ECC is also on the main.nex.com domain.
When we access this application using "portal.main.nex.com", the links work fine as they should. But when we access the application using "portal.drs.nex.com", they do not open at all. There is no error message displayed. It just simply does not do anything.
We have added *.main.nex.com to our local intranet trusted sites and have enabled pop-ups, added the proxy exception
*.main.nex.com. All the Pop-ups are working from the other Custom Webdynpro application and from the other SAP GUI for HTML transactions in the portal from domain "drs.nex.com".
I am not sure what the problem is, but we are facing a problem ONLY with this application's links. I am not able to see anything in the nwa logs too.
Any pointers as to where I can look for issues?

Work item is not opening while clicking in POWL Task under MSS Portal

Hi ,
I have created custom Iview on portal for POWL. I can see my Powl application but when I select work item which contains all task ...and select any one of them it should open WD abap application but its not opening application and giving error.
There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN" "

Can any one tell me what is missing.

Why new Spacer Item cretaed through personalization does not appear in SSHR

Responsibility : Employee Self-Service
Click on "Personal Information".
Navigate to : Personal Details Region
Click on : "Personalize Basic Details" hyperlink.
In the "Personalize Region : Basic Details" page that opens, in the
Personalize Structure Region : "Complete View" option button is enabled.
In the Style column choose the Value : Default Single Column
Click on "Go" button.
Corresponding to : Default Single Column: Basic Details, Click on "Create Item" icon.
In the "Create Item" page that opens, choose : Level: Function: Personal Information
Item Style : Spacer
ID : Vishu
Admin Personaliation : True
Height : 30
Width : 10
Click on "Apply" button.
Click on "Return to Application".
Simulated in CELALNX10 and crm-au-r12 instance but in both the instances the Spacer items is not appearing.

Check that you have specified the HEIGHT and WIDTH properties of the spacer!
Also, you have created an item, but make sure that it is RENDERED=TRUE at the personalisation level for your responsibility.
It is good prectice to create an item and render it FALSE. Then go to the specific personalisation level you require and set RENDER=TRUE.
Also, there is a better document than the one you refer to. Try looking at MetaLink document id 268969.1 - Oracle Framework Personalization Guide (OA Framework 11.5.10).

RFQ buttons do not open in a new window

Hello,
We are on SAP SRM 7.0 with EHP1 and have configured bidding process. We are able to create RFQ from the navigation link however the following buttons viz. Create RFQ,Display RFQ ,Edit and Response and Awards on click of it do not open a new window page.
This issue occurs in both IE8 and Firefox browsers
Note: The RFQ creator is assigned with the Strategic purchaser EHP1 role and with the required portal role
Please let us know if there is any additional authorization needs to be given or any portal configuration is missing.

Please get in touch with your portal consultant and ask him to check with the Iview integration. Also do ask him to check with the Event button.

ESS(WDA) in EP - ESS page opening, but individual service is not opening

Hi all,
we are using EP for hosting the ESS (WDA) services.
We are using the standard role 'Employee Self Services'.
in the iView, we can see the application is HRESS_A_MENU and the configuration name is HRESS_AC_MENU
In EP, when we click on the Employee Self Services role, the main page is opening properly.
but when we click on individual service, like personal profile, it is not opening in new or same window. It basically does nothing.
when we check the ESS services, on ECC directly, it is opening the main page properly with below url.
http://eccserver:nnnn/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hress_a_menu?sap-language=EN&sap-wd-configId=HRESS_AC_MENU
it is opening the Employee Services page. when we click on the individual services, e.g. Personal profile, it is opening properly in new window.

in EP, what do we need to additionally to get the individual service to open properly.

finally after doing following things it worked.
accessed both EP and ECC using FQDN, not by using IP.
made sure both EP and ECC in same security zone. (https in our case)
applied the BP ERP common roles, set permission to every_user group.
created additional aliases for the system object:
SAP_HCM_PROXY
SAP_LocalSystem
SAP_ECC_HumanResources
logically i understood the purpose of alias SAP_ECC_HumanResources, but could not understand the need for adding SAP_HCM_PROXY and SAP_LocalSystem aliases for the same system object.

IView Personalization (Web Dynpro Java) for Anonymous User

Hello All,
Is it possible for anonymous user to see iView personalization (Web Dynpro Java) when personalized by an administrator? What I did was create new role and iView making available to anonymous user. This work fine meaning I can view iView using URL http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous . But the personalization I made to iView using administrator mode launching iView in preview mode and then using personalization dialog by choosing Ctrl and secondary mouse button to personalize is not showing. Iu2019m currently on EP7 SP15 and using iView type Web Dynpro Java for the development component sap.com/tcsecumewdenduser application name LogonHelpApp.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Yes, the Web Dynpro for Java Personalization is working perfect for non-anonymous users. The issue is when I view same iView using anonymous URL http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous the personalization is not showing just defaults back to the original Web Dynpro Java application settings. The iView that I created and personalized is the new Logon Help Dynpro Java application (LogonHelpApp). Is there some permissions that restricts anonymous user to view personalization?
