IWeb not finding my website

I created a website in iweb 09. When I have updated to OS Lion it doesn't recognise the website in iWeb (i.e. I loggged in into iweb and nothing is there).Any suggestions pretty please?

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files  Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, go to your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Contribute can not find the website

I forgot the contribute adminstrator password, so I followed the instructions to reset the password.  After this Contribute states that it "can not open the website".  If I tell it yes to "open the website anyway" it continues, but when I give it the network path(using local/network as the type of access) for the website on the next dialog it says "contribute can not verify your connection information".  I can open a windows explorer window and browse to the directory with no issues.
Can someone help me resolve this issue?

Removed the connection before. The messages mentioned occurred while trying to create the new site(or reconnect the site).

  • IWeb not finding photos

One problem solved (not able to find my user Library) on the way to solving a problem with iWeb and reinsating an earlier version as I couldn't load any of the pics while editing my website.
Problem solved temporarily on reverting to an earlier version of the website via Time Machine.
But not for long as the problem reoccured as soon as I tried to open any pages to edit (other than a new one which I'd created that didn't seem to have that problem).
So....... all the pages I have created give me the same window when I open them
The following errors occured while trying to open this page
With a list below of all the jpg Missing Files and instructions below as to how to reinstall them.
I can of course keep reverting to an earlier version but that is rather tedious.
Any suggestions as to why iWeb has become so flakey gratefully received.
    Thanks

Might be a job for symbolic links!
I thought there used to be a GUI way to create symbolic links, but maybe there never was.
    Anyway, here's a "little" background.

And, if you're comfortable in the terminal, what you want to do is create a Pictures symbolic link that points to the one on your external drive (not sure what problem this might cause iPhoto... may want to point it to the symbolic link as well).
    Something along the lines of
    cd /Users/username/Pictures/
    then
    ln -s /Volumes/name-of-external/iPhoto\ Library iPhoto\ Library
    or something like that.

  • Iweb not finding photos after move to external hard drive...

so I moved all my photos by copying the iphoto library to a external hard drive, deleting the old library, and telling iphoto to look to the external to find the photos and iphoto works fine.
I launched iweb, tried to go into media, and it said please launch iphoto 2 or later to show photos...I did so and nothing.
How do I point iweb in the right direction in order to work with my photos on the external hard drive?
    Thanks so much,
    Steve

  • IWeb not finding my MobileMe Galleries

I've just found the MobileMe Gallery widget and wanted to play around with it to see what exactly it does and what it looks like. I've made a new blank page to try it out and dragged the widget onto the page, but the little floating box says "(No albums or movies)" in the Display option, and the the box on the page says, "Upload an album or movie to MobileMe and then select it from this widget's menu."
I clicked the "Learn more" link on the floating box and read the help page. It didn't help. It just said that if there's nothing in that Display menu, that I'm either not connected to the internet or I haven't published any albums or movies. Both are wrong, though. I'm connected to the internet; I'm posting this, and have been browsing other sites as well, including my own MobileMe Gallery page...which brings me to my next point, which is that the other condition is also wrong: I do have albums published to MobileMe. Many galleries. And they're all there, they all work, iPhoto is in sync with them, etc. And it's the same MobileMe account, no doubt about that.
So why doesn't the widget in iWeb seem to know about my MobileMe galleries? Or is there some important fact or concept I'm completely overlooking?

That has been an ongoing problem here. First try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
Next, create a new test gallery in iPhoto and publish. Then launch iWeb and try again. Some have said that the new gallery worked to jumpstart iWeb.

  • Iweb not finding Mobile-me albums

I have uploaded 3 albums using Aperture to my mobile-me gallery. Trouble is when i goto Insert in iweb down to Mobile-me gallery only one is there. How do i tell iweb to update itself and find the other two photo albums i have online.

Have you tried quitting and relaunching iWeb?
Make sure that your galleries are published by going to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites and looking in the _gallery folder.
You can also try quitting iWeb, deleting the preference file - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist - and relaunching.
If that doesn't update it, do it again and restart your Mac.

  • Hard Drived Crashed. got files back. iweb not finding them.

Hi! hope someone can help. i think it's a simple fix. My hard drive crashed last week. my computer guy convinced me to get a new computer... (which i'm loving) luckily he was able to recover all my files. When i open the new iweb on my new computer. the files for my 2 websites aren't showing up. Where do i need to move the folders with all the files for each of my 2 sites so that they'll load into the iweb on my new computer. SO that i can keep working on my site???>
FYI- i had been using the latest version of iweb '09 on my last computer too.
thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The file that you need to recover is named Domain.sites2 and, by default, resides in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. If that file was recovered from your crashed HD, put it in that iWeb folder (replacing any domain file that't in there now) and launch iWeb.
If you don't have that file you'll have to recreate the sites from scratch. Howeve Chapter 2.3 of this iWeb FAQ site has tips on using some of the published files in the reconstruction of the site.

  • IWeb not publishing my website

    Hi,
I've just made many modifications to my personal iWeb website,
I'm uploading it to MobileMe and using a custom address (www.hediregaya.com),
Once I click on the publish button, I don't see anymore the pie diagram (status), when I try to Quit the application it returns me the following message:
    Thanks

Perhaps you need to check again with your host that the settings are in fact correct and then check that you have entered these settings in the correct place in iWeb itself.

  • IWeb Not Finding My Site After Re-Install

    Hi guys,
I've had to re-install OSX on my Macbook. I backed up my iWeb website before I did this and put it back where I found it.
When I open iWeb now it just prompts me to start a new site.
How do I get the old iweb site back into iweb??
    Thanks
    Steve

So even though I backed up all the html files, pictures etc of the site I created in iWeb, they're now useless to me because I didn't back up this one file?
There's no way to get iWeb to recognise the site it created anymore?
That seems crazy! I used iWeb to keep my life simple but I think I'm better sticking to manual webpage creation in future.

  • Newby question.  Iweb not 'publishing' my websites properly anymore

    Hi,
Since I updated Iweb to the latest version (2.0.3), my website pages won't 'publish to folder' properly. Examples of problems I'm encountering include:
1)The dynamic menu bar located at the top of every page no longer shows up on published pages.
    2) My photo log page now shows up empty - no title, no text, and no photos. It now publishes, essentially, like a blank template.
    Please help!

    This should help!

  • IWeb Not Finding Internet Connection...

I'm having an issue with iWeb. Ever since I hooked my internet up to a wireless router, when I click 'Publish All to MobileMe' I get a message stating that iWeb can't connect to the internet, despite the every other program working just fine.
Another weird thing is that when I attempt to view my page which is working under the URL, www.forwardfluidmotion.com, I get an error page saying that there is no internet connection, despite being able to view every other web page on the planet.
Oh yeah, I'm in Poland. No clue if that has anything to do with it but thought I would toss it out there.
    Thanks.
    -Ry-

Thats what is strange... I know others can but for some reason I am unable to. iWeb still says there is no internet connection. Is there a setting I need to apply on my router to allow this kind of access?
I have never had this issue when I was in the States.
I have also found that certain pages are coming up completely jumbled, such as YouTube.
Also, if I hook my MacBook straight to the connection, I can access everything.
    Any thoughts?

  • Can not find my website in the management portal, but it is still showing it exists when i want to publish to it

I created a site it vanished from my portal, and I no longer have access to it although it shows it exists under azurewebsites.net.
    what could happened?

    Hi,
First, check your Azure portal, do you log in with the corresponding account? Could other sites in your portal run normally? If everything is correct, I think you need to contact with azure support, here is the support channel:
