IWeb questions - Youtube and Videos.

Hi,
A few quick questions
1) How do you put a link into a page so that visitors see the movie (let's say it's on Youtube) but are not directed to the actual page. Here is a link to a website that accesses one of my Youtube videos, yet it doesn't bring the visitor to Youtube.com. http://starsneverfade.com/callowayConcert.htm Here is another example of how someone access a video on my website without visiting my site. Both of these have my permission... but how was it done? http://www.davidgeist.com/rhapsodyinblue.html
2) is it possible to put a Flash movie into Iweb? I have a few people grumbling that they cannot play Quicktime movies. I hear .flv movies are more compatible with Windows based computer... augh! Why doesn't everyone just buy a Mac and make my life easier?
3) Is it possible to copy protect a video? What I'm asking is once I post a video is there a way to prevent people from downloading it?
Thanks!
Gary

I have a large collection of sample pages with video: QuickTime, Flash Video, Windows Media, DivX, Real.
http://web.mac.com/wyodor/iFrame/
You use the object/embed code and paste it in a HTML Snippet.
I usually use a separate custom HTML page to embed with the [iframe HTML element|http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/iframe.html] or [object HTML element|http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/object.html].
I have a few people grumbling that they cannot play Quicktime movies. I hear .flv movies are more compatible with Windows based computer... augh! Why doesn't everyone just buy a Mac and make my life easier?
It's not Win or Mac. It's what you want. Flash Video has advantages over QT. And DivX has advantages over Flash Video. And Vimeo has advantages over YouTube. The samples will show you.
3) Is it possible to copy protect a video? What I'm asking is once I post a video is there a way to prevent people from downloading it?
If I can watch it, I can download it.

  • Youtube and videos keep downloading so that the lecture stops and goes on by "increments"each 2 seconds

    Youtube and videos are not running fluently the way they did.  It goes on downloading each 2 seconds. What can I do to solve the issue ? Thank you for your help.

    Most YouTube content requires the Flash plugin. Sometimes it's necessary to uninstall then reinstall that plugin.
    Uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
    Very important to uninstall the currently installed plugin first.
    Now launch Safari and try a video.
    If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
    And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
    You may also need to delete the cache associated with Safari .
    Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Click Go the move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a video.

  • Youtube and videos

    i have recently been unable to view videos (youtube and other site) on safari! the site loads up but the video does not show up or play!
    how do i resolve this?

    First thing is to always try a reset, then a restore.
    Remember that sometimes YouTube "goes down", and sometimes (if viewing over Edge) you will have such poor reception that videos will not play (other things can still load but video needs a better bandwidth in order to play). However, if you are connecting via wi-fi and they do not play the reset/restore is always the first thing to try.

  • [SOLVED]Youtube and Video Codecs

    Hey guys
    Ok basically today i went to make a screen recording for a friend. and i got this command line of the internet, youtube itself actually. i do remember the guy on the video saying he converts it later
    The recording went fine. better than fine, x11grab is impressive
    But when i uploaded the video to youtube, youtube failed to process the video, saying it couldnt read the codec
    ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 2 -i pulse -f x11grab -r 30 -s $(xwininfo -root | grep 'geometry' | awk '{print$2;}') -i :0.0 -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264 -vpre lossless_ultrafast -threads 0 -y output.avi
    So im wondering how i'd go about converting the file into a format that youtube will accept
    i did try this, it convers the video itself but with no audio
    mencoder output.avi -o test.mp4 -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg1video -of mpeg
    due to this error
    mencoder unknown audio format assuming mp2/3 use -fafmttag
    I did try searching the arch forums and google. i couldnt find a solution or whats happening with the audio situation with mencoder

    If you want to tweak a few parameters along the way:
    ffmpeg -i 'input-file.avi' -r 25 -s 640x368 -aspect 16:9 -b 988k -vcodec libxvid -vtag xvid -metadata title='Metainfo Title' -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ab 128k 'output-file.avi'
    or to purely copy video as is and transcode audio:
    ffmpeg -i 'input.avi' -sameq -vcodec mpeg4 -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ab 128k 'output-file.avi'
    man ffmpeg
    for more info and other options

  • YouTube and videos slow on Firefox

    Hi, I have tried to resolve this on my own, but i couldn't so please, help me.
    I'm having BIG troubles trying to reproduce any video in YouTube. When i try to watch something, the video goes terribly slow, with continuos jumps and hangs, however the audio still is being reproduce perfectly.
    I have the last Adobe Flash Player version installed, if i go here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html it says it. But the animation i should see in that page to check if everything is ok, is really slow, and it has those jumps, the same than youtube.
    I have tried to unistall, and install it again, but it doesn't work.
    My computer is: Windows 7 64 bits, AMD FX 6300 6 core, GTX 650, 8 Gb RAM, motherboard ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 i'm using Firefox 35. and last version of flash player.
    By the way, if i tri to use Chrome, it works I believe it's because Chrome has it installed by default, so the problem it's just with Firefox (or games than nead Flash player installed)

    It sounds like you have an excellent workaround available.
    You can try to resolve the issues in Firefox by taking a look at our video troubleshooting guide:
    Video playback issues
    If that doesn't work, your best short-term option is probably to use Chrome.

    Check to see if you have enough memory free on the centro ( Go to home - tap the time on the top left hand corner- select INFO under APPS and it will be under Free Space )- I think the Centro needs to cache the files in order to view it.
    Also try to sync the files to your computer and test the device without any pictures and see if it does the same thing.
    To save you time and headache, I would recommend a MicroSD card to store pictures, music, movies and documents.

    when I go to youtube and view a video clip it usually asks if i want to save the video I'm watching. Now all of a sudden it no longer asks the question. How do I get it back?

    I believe that might be related to this:

    Real is always, it seems, late in releasing updates for new browser updates. They are given the same opportunity during the Firefox pre-release testing as other developers to be sure that their products will work with new Firefox releases.
    But, alas, always the same problem!

  • Using iWeb 09 to create website for showreel and videos

    Hello,
    I'm an independent film maker and I am looking to set up my own website to show my work on. Seeing how iWeb 09 finally allows you to publish your website to a host via FTP, I wondered if anyone could answer some questions for me - I have googled some stuff but have not come up with any satisfactory answers.
    Okay, so basically I want a really simple website - incredibly simple in fact. All I want to do is have live streaming video (like the movie trailers on apples movie trailer website) for my own films. Of course, I want the videos to be of the highest quality (with some HD stuff as well). I have found a web host that offers unlimited web-space and bandwidth/traffic for a very cheap price each month, so is it simply a case of dragging a QT movie file into iWeb 09, publish it via FTP, and hey presto, people can view my films in high quality on the web? Is it really that simple or is there a catch?
    Also, I may want to show some videos encoded with Flash, not QT. Is that still possible using iWeb 09?
    Many, many thanks if you can clear up these queries for me, as I cannot seem to find any clear info anywhere else.
    George
    P.S. I will be using FCP, not iMovie, to create and export films. Since they can both export QT files, I presume this will not be a problem?

    George ~ Yes, there's a catch. Your videos will become part of iWeb's Domain file which may make it slow to open in iWeb, make backups and re-publish everything (if needed). Better to upload your videos separately to your server and embed them into your iWeb site.
    iWeb '09 makes this easy if you upload your videos to YouTube: iWeb '09 has a new YouTube widget to embed your videos into your iWeb page:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/iweb/#widgets
    ...For high definition video, YouTube was recently ranked the best of several video sites:
    Which HD video Web service is the best?
    See also this article:
    YouTube officially enables HQ in embedded videos
    Also, I may want to show some videos encoded with Flash, not QT. Is that still possible using iWeb 09?
    If you're concerned that some PC users won't have QT and won't want to install it, I think if you go the embedded YouTube route, almost all PC or Mac users will be able to view your videos — because "videos on YouTube are streamed through an Adobe Flash player."

    Hi,
    Try a clean installation of the flash plugin/activeX as follows.
    First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
    When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
    When windows has reloaded, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
    When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.
    If the above doesn't correct the issue, then try the following.
    First of all, download and run the Shockwave uninstaller on the link below.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe
    After this has completed, restart the notebook.
    When windows has fully reloaded, download and install the latest version of Shockwave on the following link.
    http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
    Again, after this installation, restart the notebook.

  • YouTube embedded videos not working on iWeb 3.01/Safari?

    My website has three videos, uploaded to YouTube and the embed codes downloaded to iWeb 3.01 site using HTML.
    All three videos work on the site pages, although video one uses the "new" code and videos two/three use the "old" code.
    In each case, I have had to add http: before //www.youtube.com to make these videos load to the iWeb site.
    After uploading the site to Host Co. using FTP. The site works perfectly when using Firefox. But when using Safari video one will play
    but videos two and three will not play and an error message is displayed.
    Please help - am I missing something from the coding, or do I need to do something specail for Safari?
    I am not an expert on coding.
    Thank you

    Thank you Wyodor, I also believe the solution may be simple, if it helps (and for all you coding experts out there) these are the three video/codes being used. For each code I had to add after "  http:  and before
    //www.youtube to load videos to iWeb using html widget.
    Video One code
    This video on published website - plays using both Safari and Firefox.
    <iframe width="1000" height="563" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rrMsYI6XVSw?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
    Video Two code
    This video on published website - plays using Firefox but will NOT play using Safari.
    <object width="1000" height="563"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/MDfE087Hgvw&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/MDfE087Hgvw&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="1000" height="563"></embed></object>
    Video Three code
    This video on published website - plays using Firefox but will NOT play using Safari.
    <object width="1000" height="563"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/X5n6M66jgUo&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0xe1600 f&color2=0xfebd01&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/X5n6M66jgUo&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0xe1600 f&color2=0xfebd01&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="1000" height="563"></embed></object>

  • How can I combine the audio and video files from youtube downloads when they don't automatically combine?

    I'm using YouTube Video and Audio Downloader. Sometimes the audio and video files combine automatically, sometimes they don't - remaining as separate " DASH - .m4a and DASH - .mp4 ". It used to be that when this would happen I could open up a "ffmpeg" window which would allow me to "manually" convert them to a combined .mp4 file. It was a "drag and drop" type of interface. For some reason I can no longer access that ffmpeg combining function. I tried clicking on ffmpeg.exe. I tried re-downloading ffmpeg several times, both from the Downloader options tab and from the ffmpeg website.
    Thanks for your help.

    Sounds like a question for the developer of the video download add-ons that you have installed.

  • AIR for Android - StageWebView and Video (YouTube iFrame)

    Hey all,
    I've been converting an iOS tablet app over to Android and I've noticed the StageWebView has some curious limitations, especially with anything that accessed the GPU (video, etc).
    At first the embedded YouTube (iframe) videos would just show the first frame of the video dutifully with the usual play button. When pressed, the video went black and all I heard was audio. The reason I even mention this is it took quite a while to locate this Adobe page with a section entitled "Enabling Flash Player and other plug-ins in a StageWebView object". So I added in the application tag to enable the plugins with acceleration (<application android:hardwareAccelerated="true"/>) and now I can see video.
    The erratic thing is on ICS (Android 4.0.x) the video plays in the StageWebView but it horizontally closes to about 20% its normal width. The video player doesn't scale to 20% width, the iframe is just somehow collapsing to that narrow width removing the ability to see 80% of the video or use the controls (e.g. no fullscreen button visible).
    When tested on Jelly Bean (4.1.x) the video does not pinch horizontally, it (amusingly) plays horizontally backwards (mirrored) and upside down.
    Previously with hardwareAccelerated="true" missing I could press play and then toggle fullscreen and the video would work fine. After adding hardwareAccelerated="true" I can no longer use fullscreen, it crashes the devices after locking up.
    I also tried appending ?html5=1 to the YouTube videos to force GoogleAPI to choose a HTML5 player. This didn't do anything.
    Has anyone found the sacred tome of knowledge required to get an embedded YouTube video to play in a StageWebView iframe?

    Hi Sinuous.  Thanks for all your good help so far.
    I decided to go the ANE route.  I found an example ANE that plays videos, to follow, and I am getting on famously so far.  I can send a message from Javascript (in the SWV) to Flex (using the location trick), and from there I instruct the ANE to show and play the video, which appears on top of the SWV.  Huzzah.   I have two questions for you (or others listening).
    1.  My build has one platform:   <platform name="Android-ARM">
          Do I need another for Intel, or other architectures that Andriod supports?
    2.  My video appears full-screen.  How can I control the size and position of the video?  I've tried a couple
         of things that don't seem to work.  The code resembles this:
    //get the root container
              ViewGroup rootContainer = (ViewGroup)((ViewGroup)getActivity().findViewById(android.R.id.content)).getChildAt(0);
    //make a VideoView
              VideoView videoView = new VideoView(getActivity());
              videoView.setZOrderOnTop(true);
              videoView.setMediaController(new MediaController(getActivity()));
    //make a video container and add the video view
              ViewGroup videoContainer = new FrameLayout(getActivity());
              videoContainer(videoView, new FrameLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT));
    //add the video container to the root container
              rootContainer.addView (videoContainer, new LayoutParams(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, Gravity.CENTER));
    //set the video URL and start it
              videoView.setVideoURI(Uri.parse(url));
              videoView..start();

  • Is it permissible to upload a video on youtube with music, sounds effects, and video effects from imovie?

    Lately, I've been editing and making videos for a local church in Mexico. I am not selling any of the videos. The are free to watch. However, is it permissible to upload a video with music, sound effects, and video effects from imovie? I using imovie version 10.0.2

    This question comes up from time to time.
    There are a number of con-men who think that they can earn a quick buck from claiming that they own the copyright to Apple’s royalty-free jingles and sound effects included with the iLife applications. These are all free to use, as clearly stated in section 2.C of the iLife Software License Agreement:
    “You may use the Apple and third party audio content (“Audio Content”) contained in or otherwise included with the Apple software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio content may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound files, sound effects or music beds.”

    You should quote this (also providing the above link) when following any dispute process with YouTube.
