IWork '09 without paper manual and serial
I just bought a copy of iWork '09 in a retail store, and noticed two thing:
- it has no paper manual (version '08 had the manual, instead)
- it has no serial coded (infact I installed if and was not prompted about the serial code; version '08 needed it, instead).
Is this normal?

In Pages, Keynote, Numbers, click Help, in there you'll see a <program name> User Guide. You can download it from within each program. Cost savings for us and saves trees.

I bought a new computer and I'm attempting to install my older Adobe products that I still use, Adobe Acrobat 7 is the issue for now. I followed the instructions on the Adobe site for installing the older apps, but the installer isn't recognizing my product serial number as a valid serial number. I tried entering it with and without the dashes and neither methods work. What should I do now?

Is it possible to re-install iWork 09 without the physical CD?
I bought iWork 09 two years ago from an Apple store in the UK but have since moved abroad to Australia.
I installed the software on my MacBook (late 2008 model) but have since had to replace the hard drive so it is no longer installed.
Is it possible to re-install iWork 09 without needing to pay to re-download it from the App store? I have the serial numbers and barcodes but not the physical disc with me.
ThanksThe physical DVD required no serial number. If you have lost that yes you will need to buy the M.A.S version with the consolation that it is cheap here and can be installed on all your Macs at no extra charge.
If you have a serial number it is possible you bought the downloadable version, in which case use that to install and use the serial number when prompted.

HP Laserjet M401A could not set different paper size and tray on printer properties
Good morning all. I'm experiencing a issue setting custom paper size and tray in this printer properties. I would like to set up three different printers, on the same port, to print directly on a specific tray (without enter the printer properties and select the proper tray and size). I have this printer with the additional third tray. I have set up A4 in tray 1 (bypass), custom size in tray 2 and 3 on the printer. When i enter the printer PROPERTIES i want to set up set custom paper size in tray 2 and 3. No way.The only sizes i can see is 13x8, a4, a5, letter, legal, and so on (there are maybe 7 choices). So i choose NOT SPECIFIED. When i go on printer PREFERENCES, i can set up my custom paper size.But when i choose my custom paper size, the tray 2 and 3 go away and i can only choose bypass or tray 1.If i set up A5 (for example) the tray 2 and 3 re-appear. I have done extensive research online and looked for relevant posts in other forums, plus I downloaded a LaserJet 4L service manual. The verdict: A common cause of this no-power problem is a faulty DC controller board, blown fuse(s) on it, or other circuitry glitch. I am sure that the paper tray is inserted correctly.
So I decided to cut my losses (I'm not inclined to pull the printer apart to try to fix it--it's not worth my time) and tossed the printer. It's not cost-effective or time-effective to spend a lot of money or time to resuscitate old hardware, except perhaps as a learning exercise.

i just tried to install the 11.4 update (or whichever one is the most recent update as of 1/26/2014) and when it failed i tried to install manually and now whenever i try to use it, i get the following error: "The application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Right after i click ok i then get this error: "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)." I tried to uninstall Itunes and then reinstall the 11.03 version but that didnt work either. I want to know if i copy all of the music in my itunes folder to an external without consolidating can i still transfer all my itunes music from my current windows xp pc to a brand new one and have my current itunes library in my new pc? Basically i just want to know 3 things: What exactly does consolidating the itunes library do? Can i copy, paste, and transfer my itunes library to an external and from there to a new pc? Will i be able to transfer my itunes library without consolidating the files?
I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). Adobe Store takes too long to deliver download and serial information
Earlier this week we received some Indesign files for a job, but they were in Indesign 5 format, so we were unable to open them with Indesign CS4. So, taking this as a sign that it was time to upgrade, yesterday, at around 1pm UK time I purchased the upgrade from Creative Suite Design Premium 4 to Creative Suite Design Premium 5.5. I logged onto the Adobe.com store, looked at the options - Home and Home Business, Small and Medium Business, Eductation and selected Small and Medium Business (because that is what we are). I purchased the upgrade (as a download), received a confirmation email from Adobe and waited....and waited...and waited. At the end of the day I called Adobe Custopmer support and asked why I have not had any email showing links to download sites, and serial numbers. I was told it can take 24 hrs to process the order.
Well here we are over 24 hrs later and I have still not had any information from Adobe. I tried calling the customer support and it is only open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The customer support website is down. The Adobe Volume Licensing site is down - and was all day yesterday as well.
In the meantime I have no way of opening the files. My deadline is Wednesday and we had planned to work on the job today and tomorrow (which is why I am sitting in my office now). It appears I cannot access customer support before Monday morning, and the customer support website is down until tomorrow evening UK time - at least. This means working all night on Monday and probably Tuesday - assuming we get access to the download information early Monday.
Adobe is one of the biggest software vendors in the world. When I buy software - online and for download, with a credit card - I expect to be able to access the software immediately. There is no excuse for this delay. None. A business the size of Adobe should not have customer services down for 2 days. Support should run 24/7, 365 days a year. My enquiry yesterday was routed to an offshore call centre, so having a 9 to 5 cut off is simply ridiculous.
The simple fact is that even the smallest software vendors we buy from deliver the goods within minutes. As you can tell I am mightily "annoyed" by this. At this point in time I am wishing these files were in Quark Xpress format (we have both). Quark used to have terrible support but they are now very good - and available.
As a customer of Adobe for over 15 years I am disappointed. Today, in my email inbox I have emails from Adobe about new online cloud services. Well, why would I want to invest any more in Adobe software if I cannot even access the ones I have bought - quickly?
If companies like Adobe want to know why piracy is rife - look at your own delivery systems. The only option I have now to do this job is to either download a pirated version (which I will not) or to download and run the trial for Indesign. How stupid is that?

Hi Kevin, not sure why it's taken longer than usual, but you can just download the free trial in the meantime. It will work 100% for 30 days, and you can convert it over to the full version once you receive your permanent serial number without reinstalling. This is fine even with a business license.
There's really no reason not to proceed in this fashion, especially with an imminent deadline. Adobe recommends this in cases where there is any sort of delay (for example, student validation) or immediate need. And absolutely you should avoid downloading the software from anywhere else, which is not only illegal but also hazardous to the health of your computer (malware).

Thanks. Yes. But somehow it's already turned off by the thief. I am just hoping he goes to an area with free wifi to transmit the lost phone mode. I'm giving it a few weeks and i hope that the new iOS 7 function will work. That they won't be able to reset my phone without my apple id & password. I just wish I downloaded the app iHound before.
Oh and I called up our national telecommunications commission and they'll be able to disable my phone's function through my IMEI. -
Hi... I am looking for an inexpensive app for my macbook pro that I can put pictures and videos together into a slideshow with captions and music WITHOUT a watermark and that also will burn the slideshow to a DVD in its own app. Help?
The issue with the A1400 is that like most economy compact cameras, they will not have very fast focus times in indoor lighting situations. Many people have gone to entry level DSLR's (Canon T3i) or micro 4/3 cameras. They are fairly expensive, but a late model refurbished T3i can sometimes be found with a kit lens for about $300.00. With Auto and scene modes, as well as full manual modes, these are very versatile cameras that focus very quickly, even in lower lighting situations. Canon is not really into the micro 4/3 cameras, instead they are focusing on the new G7x and G1x cameras, which are way out of your price range. The A720 is still available used at some places such as KEH camera, but you'll need to check often as their stock changes constantly. Obviously the DSLR's don't use AA batteries, but the T3i is good for about 600 photos (or more) per charge.
My refurbished DSLR was practically brand new condition when I got it. I could not find any sign of wear at all, so I feel they are a real bargain. These are rugged cameras that are made to last. The A1400 is a $99.00 camera, so it's not intended for heavy usage, plus the image quality of a DSLR (even entry level) is far better than the A1400. That would be my recommendation.

Can anyone help meSyncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your iPod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
All media content will be erased during the first sync, but you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

How to resolve of corruption of undotbs without any backup and DB in Noarch

On one of my database having block corruption error, as no backup is availabe and its in noarchive mode. Previously It might be in "archvie mode"
but when access comes to me it was in no archvie mode.
database is down, when I run "startup" cmd on sqlprompt it give error as below:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced
and when check with alert.log file it gives as below error: corrupton of undotbs.
ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted (file # 2, block # 9)
ORA-01110: data file 2: 'D:\ORACLE\TEST1\UNDOTBS01.DBF'
---I also try with below steps:
1) first take coldbackup
2) create pfile from spfile and change parameters :
undo_management to manual
comment out undo_tablespace and undo_retention
3) add one parameter as below:
allowresetlogs_corruption=true
4) add one more parameter :
corruptedrollback_segment=(_SYSSMU1$,_SYSSMU2$,_SYSSMU3$,_SYSSMU4$,_SYSSMU5$)
3) mount with pfile
4) recover database until cancel
cancel
5) alter database open resetlogs;
but the same error :(

and dont have any backup as well.Its a serious mistake to run the db in noarch and that too without any backup. Do NOT use those underscore parameters without OSS coming and asking you to do so. You have already fingers burnt of yours, don't make the complete hand getting burnt by using these parameters without consent of OSS. Raise an SR to oracle and do what they say.

I just switched to Iphone 5c from Blackberry...is there a way to jump from the 1st email listed to the bottom of the list (sometimes 300-400) without scrolling manually thru them all? Also is there a way to organize them by sender?
Well, I think I know why the rules are not working. The alias mailbox is being listed as another mail folder and not as an actual inbox so the rules are not being applied. While I wish the rules would work, I will continue to manually mark some of the emails as spam.
As for the second issue with emails vanishing, I am waiting to see if it happens again. I think it must happen when it is syncing the data but I am not sure that it happens all the time. Today the previous emails seem to be their and it grabbed the new email so I don't know what happened with the vanishing email. Anyway this can be closed since I believe the main issue has been solved as being a setup issue with Yahoo alias email account. -

Can any of you tell me how to add a "Material No." and "Serial No." to the component of an IBase and also add warranty to this component. It is manually done through IB52 by changing the values on-screen for the components attached to the IBase.

Recover music from ipod without losing ratings and play counts
hey Guys, I just changed my laptop which I use to sync my ipod. I understand that if I change the setting to manual update I will be able to see my song without losing them, and that if I show hidden files I can actually copy the music back on my computer.
My question is wheter if I do the overstated procedure, will I be able to see the play count and ratings that I had on my ipod in itunes? Please help, I put a lot of work in thatbump

Not looking to get flamed by tree hippies, I like trees, really I do, but I did not get a big paper manual like the Logic 8 one with my Logic 9 upgrade, does only the full non upgrade version get this or have they done away with it altogether? I REALLY like to read manuals away from my computer in all kinds of places, I loved having the Logic 8 one and it helped me gain a lot of my logic knowledge, I'm suprised I have not seen this mentioned anywhere. The fact there is no pdf manual only makes this more painful. Other than this and the file association problem mentioned in my other post, loving Logic 9 so far.

This indicator causes a surchage or discount to be set in the document statistically (that is, without altering the value).
If you tick statistical key then that will not be consider while calculating net price.
For Eg: You have created one Purchase Order the PB00 gross price is 1000 and the discount is 50. Then this Discount part will not taken into FI account.
Regarding Manual
If a condiiton type is marked "Manual" in Pricing that will not get proposed automatically in PO condiitons, you have to manully select the condiiton from F4 help and maintain the value against it untill you maintain condiiton record for the same.
You can see in Pricing procedure there are two condition types PB00 (Autoamtic) & PBXX (Manual & doesnot contains any Access Sequence)
If you check the manual box against PBXX then you have to enter the condition manually in po. It will not populate auto.
