J D Edwards OneWorld Developer to Fusion Roadmap Required

Hi
I have been developing J D Edwards software based in the UK for the last 21 years. I am keen to update my skills now that Fusion is just around the corner.
From what I can understand from articles on the Web it would seem that JDeveloper is the development environment of choice for Fusion. What I am after is a roadmap for me (a non-Java developer) to get me up to speed for when Fusion comes along.
Do I need to learn Java or will the new Fusion Toolset (which I can't find much information about) "shield" me from the Code?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks.

The Fusion tool stack is basically JDeveloper + ADF.
The technology stack is based on ADF BC+ADF Model+JSF/ADF Faces
You'll need to know Java, but the nice thing about the ADF framework is that it eliminates a lot of the coding.
We have a lot of resources to get you started on the JDeveloper home page.
http://otn.oracle.com/jdev
Try for example the tutorials for ADF that are there. (Note that a more comprehansive ADF tutorial that uses ADF BC is on its way).
If you just want to see how the development experience is check out this online demo:

  • How run reports JDE from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?

    Hi,
I need to load on line a lot of invoices from Bpel to JD Edwards using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld (iWay).
Using Business Functions as Web Services it wasn't a not good idea because of this Adapter is poorly constructed and doesn't allow simultaneous loads, a memory leak occurs on JDE server. And to load them invoice by invoice is very slow.
A choice is to use Z tables and load them through schedules, but Bpel loses total control.
I heard that I can run processes reports that enable to extract the data from the Z tables and load them into JDE.
How can I execute reports JD Edwards invoked from BPEL using the Adapter for JD Edwards OneWorld?
    Thanks

    Hi Dario,
BizTalk 2013 R2 (JDE LOB Adapter) is not tested against latest release of JDE EnterpriseOne 9.1.
It only supports with 8.12 and 9.0 version of JDE.

  • Does any one know how to communicate with thunderbolt or J.D.Edwards Oneworld?

    Hi,
Does any one know how to communicate with thunderbolt or J.D.Edwards Oneworld through LabVIEW ? Do I need to use database connectivity toolkit? Can i do it without it?
    Thanks

    Hi Atul,
we have made a application which uses Oneworld. We didn't use the database connectivity tool because we used ODBC and SQL.
We have some VIs to do database connectivity using ODBC functions. So you have to know SQL as language and the ODBC functions. If you do not have this knowledge the database connectivity toolkit will make it easier for you.

  • A full development version of labview required to fix the errors.

When i tried to run my exe file, it gives following error.
"A subvi is not executeable.A full development version of labview required to fix the errors."
i do have full version of 6.02.
Am i missing something something when i built exe?
    any Help will be appreciated.

    Well, here we go again...
I have seen this error way too many times in my day.
The problem is you have a bad linkage, or unsaved or compiled VI in your hierarchy when you built the application.
Open your main, or otherwise open (into memory) ALL VIs in your hierarchy. Then, do a save all from the file menu. This should solve the issue.
The other reason I have seen this is if you have bad linkage. As there is no real way to tell what your linkage is, you need to go into the hierarchy, select View Full Path in Title and make sure everything is where you think it is. I have often seen this occur even when the application I was building from was in perfect condition. Often times, when the app builder is used, VIs will be called from locations you
    don't expect.
You have to be VERY careful about developing in a hierarchy. I actually got to a point where I had to even place all the NI VIs into my directory structure.
Take a careful look at the hierarchy. Chances are the executable is calling the wrong code, or is compiling with the wrong version.
If in doubt, go to a fresh machine, and move all of your VIs (individually if you have to, or as a .llb preferably) to the new machine and build it from there. Alternatively, you can try doing a save as from your main and select "application distribution" this will resolve any issue with VI locations, except where Dynamic VIs are being used.
Good luck, 'cause you are going to need it.

  • JD Edwards OneWorld

    Hi All,
I have been looking for a forum on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (OneWorld) but couldnt locate in the Oracle's discussions forums. Can anyone give me the link for it.
Well I have some questions regarding OneWorld interoperatibility and posting it here for want of a better forum.
I have using OneWorld Java Apis firing XML List requests to fetch the contents of the JDE tables. The API works successfuly and also returns me the JDE table data. However there are some connection pool thread created automatically when the XML API is fired. These threads do not get killed even if the calling function/ program ends. And therefore the JVM does not terminate.
Is this a known issue with the APIs ???
Please let me know.Any pointers wud be a gr8 help.
Redirect me to a suitable forum if necessary.
    Thanks,
    Abhijit.

    Hi Phil,
The Exporter for MS Access can be used in line with the Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench to export the database schema information from an MDB file and migrate it to Oracle. The Exporter does not support exporting MDE files. An MDE file is essentially a locked version of an MDB file, where its modules, forms and reports are not editable. The Exporter requires access to these objects in order to extract their property information for use during the migration process.
We currently don't support the migration of Access 2007 databases. The tool supports versions 97, 2000, 2002 & 2003 of MS Access.
Note: the .mde file you are working with may have additional security associated with it, preventing the use of the Shift key as a bypass to view the database table. An easy way to check this is to hold down the Shift key while you double-click on your .MDE file. If the use of the Shift key is enabled for your file, in MS Access 2007 you should be able to view the Database Tools menu item.
    * If you can view the Database Tools menu item, then go to "Move Data" > "Access Database" and click "Split Database" There is an option in Access 2007 called "Database Splitter" which essentially moves tables from your current file to a new back-end database MDB file. The current file will only contain the application forms & reports, while the new back-end file contains the tables. If you could obtain access to a machine with one of the supported Access versions (97/2000/2002/2003) installed, then you should be able to use the Exporter tool & SQL Developer Migration Workbench to carry out your migration.
    * If you cannot view the Database Tools menu item in Access 2007, then the use of the Shift key has been disabled on your file, and you will not be able to view the database tables. In this case, you will need to obtain the original MDB file which was used to create the MDE file.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hilary

  • Tool to develop for Fusion Applications

    Hello,
    Please Oracle guys...
Can you tell how to change and develop for the new Fusion Applications.
I know the OA Framework pages are developed and modified with special versions of jdeveloper.
I also know Fusion Apps is now available in edelivery.oracle.com , but I have not been able to find the jdeveloper to start making changes in the Fusion Applications release.
    Thanks in advance.
    Juanje

    Thanks Gyan,
Are you absolutely sure?, this is a radical change on behalf of Oracle, because to develop OAF pages only jdeveloper for OAF versions can be used, if you try to develop OAF pages with a "normal" jdeveloper version, simply you can't, because you need some special libraries embedded in this "special" releases.
Please, if someone is doing some development for the new Fusion Apps., can put some light on this?
    Thanks.

As per Rakshith's statement, "the installers will continue to be available on the Adobe licensing website". Which means, that the installer will be available at Adobe Volume Licensing website, provided you own them within your account. They wouldn't be available at Adobe website or cfinstal mailbox.

  • Missing 'Fusion Web App' template in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3

    Hello all,
I am new user of JDeveloper. I have installed Oracle JDeveloper 11g (Studio Edition Version *11.1.2.3.0* for Linux).
I tried to follow the "Getting Started" tutorial here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_55/jdtut_11r2_55_1.html
I want to develop a "*Fusion Web Application (ADF)*", but in the gallery of "New Application" *this template is missing*. Also "Java Desktop Application (ADF)" is missing too.
I'm using the "Studio Developer" role and i already download all the updates from "Help -> Check for updates".
In "Help -> About" there are:
    About:
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.3.0
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.3.0_GENERIC_120914.0223.6276.1
Any help highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Vale

No, I don't think that it's a lack of feartues. However, I never installed jdev using hte linux version. On linux I normally use the generic installer and use my already installed jdk to run it on.
I suggest you download the generic installer and remove the current installation from your system, and install it again using the generic installer. In this case you need an jdk1.6.0_24 or better installed on your machine. I'm running jdev on 1.6.0_45, but on windows. Currently I don't hane a linux installation running jdev.
