1. Will EJB 3.0 be a part of J2EE 1.5?
2. When we can wait relase version of EJB 3.0 specification?

Seeking support/assistance to resolve the below problem. I'm using laster Jdeveloper 11g software publish in 2011.
weblogic.deployment.EnvironmentException: [J2EE:160167]The module abc-ViewController-context-root in application abc_Project1_abc uses ejb-links but no EJB modules were found for this application
Please provide guidelines why this appears and how to resolve it.

Is the application deployed as an EAR application with web and ejb modules? If not, deploy as an EAR application. -
J2EE confusion in EJB Docu example!
I installed the j2ee beta and following the track in the documentation to learn EJB. the sample works fine. But after observing the interfaces and EJB class, I got confused by the following facts:
1. the EJB class ConverterEJB does not 'implements' the remote interface Converter, although it does implement the two methods defined in that interface: dollarToYen() and yenToEuro()
Q: then who 'implements' Converter?
2. EJB Home ConvertEJB defines a single method create(),
Q: where is it implemented.
I can imagine sth between the EJB and its container must be doing sth, but it seems very foggy for me.
Can any expert clarify this a little bit?

ConverterEJBHome is the home interface - it defines all the create() methods that can be used to establish the bean
ConvertEJBSession is the remote interface that defines all the methods on the bean that the client can call

EJB 3.0 - Destinations not specified
Hi,
I am trying to deploy a J2EE application supporting EJB 3.0 on SAP CE 7.1 . During the deployment using NWDS , i am getting the error as "Destinations not specified".
However , i have already preformed below listed steps :
--> I have specified the queue and connection factory in the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml
--> I have created the queue and the connection factory on the SAP server.
--> I have included them in the jms-factories.xml , jms-destinations.xml and jms-resources.xml in the EAR file.
Please provide suggest proper steps to be taken to resolve this error.

Bean Class: I removed the code inside the method not to be cluttery.I assumed this class causes two logical security roles created "Admin" and "User"
which needs to be mapped to the physical roles in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
The weblogic-ejb-jar.xml is also given below.I do not have any entry in ejb-jar.xml corresponding to this bean.

Correct. But it will contain an usable, supportable implementation of the EJB 3.0 specification. So it's basically J2EE 1.4 + EJB 3.0.
By default it won't run with EJB 3.0 enabled.
You will need to specifically enable EJB 3.0 when you start the container.
Oc4J with EJB 3.0 features ==>> J2EE 1.5 ??, planned
release date?
There's no such beast planned yet.
Since we're actively working on an EJB 3.0 implementation, we thought we'd release it for you all to try out. It's based off the 10.1.3 code base. Since the timing was a bit out, we just put it out as a separate distro for the time being.
Our next 10.1.3 Developer Preview will reconcile this, and will be both OC4J 10.1.3 + EJB 3.0 in one package.

Problem in deploying EJBs in oc4j
Hi folks,
I am new to ejbs and now I am into support role for ejb2.0 project devoloped long ago. one of the module in that proj has ejb2.0 (Using CMP entity beans & Session beans(stateless))
The problem I am facing currently is , while running the the ejb module (by running a jsp page in that module) I am getting the following error.
In this log I found two things primarily
1) All ejbs are not deployed successfully (due to IntialContext lookup failure)
2) java.lang.NoSuchMethodError while calling the static method of a bean in the jsp
I have cross checked about the second one I didn't find any issue..is there any issue about jar(?) versions and I have run another jsp having no call to that static method then it is worked fine and the jsp view came(but still the first problem is there)
please help me...

I have checked with the path of xmllog4jconfig.xml which is in classpath.I tried with changing the string in LoggerFactory class

config.properties is used only by the client.jpr. Not by the Web.jpr
config.properties file has been provided for looking up resources[EJB, Datasources] from JNDI tree of OC4J.
Since servlet and other resources are in the same container[Single JVM] there is no need to specify the username, password, Provdier_URL at the time of lookup.
Look at the init method of EJBHotelServlet.java :

homeInterface = (HotelSystemHome)ctx.lookup("OneEJBHotel");
Here servlet looks up EJB without any authentication information, as servlet and EJB are in the same container.
Whereas Stand alone client is running outside the OC4J.
So the stand alone client need to authentcate itself for looking up the resources from JNDI tree.
Look at the getHotelSystemBean method of EJBHotelSample.java :

EJB Client Access From JDeveloper9iR2
I seem to be running into a lot of problems when trying to get a simple EJB client to talk to an EJB on our 9IAS platform. I have developed a simple session bean (just to test) which simply returns a string. When I create the default client code this works fine using the embedded OC4J server in Jdeveloper but I can't run a similar client against 9IAS when I deploy the code. When I go through the client wizard it seems to produce the same code as the standalone EJB OC4J client. I simply changed the name of the server (Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://pe2500/). This is the parameter code I use:

J2EE adapter module not getting invoked by module processor
Hi All,
i have deployed my .ear file in SDM Repository successfully.
but my J2EE adapter module is not getting invoked by module processor......this i can say because i have written code to audit log my message in the java class...but when i gave input an empty file, the audit log of that file in Message Audit Log showed only 3 Steps of file converted to XML format, no data found so not generating message, deletion of my empty file.
Can anybody suggest how to enable my J2EE adapter module as i have created this module so that if i give empty file, then in the adapter i am creating a dummy XML for my message.

The error "Connection refused" is reported when attempting to run an EJB application with the embedded 0c4j server. The application was deployed Application Server "Connection 1"; the ide connects to Connection 1
from the connection configuration wizard(ie., "Test Connection" returns "Success!"). Why the error? Trace below

Process exited with exit code 0.The applets execute in a sand box. There have heavy security restrictions put upon them so that they do not do hard to your system.
When people write applets which try to talk to ejbs the following are the common problems they face.
1. The EJB server is running on a different machine than the web server from which the applet was downloaded from. this is because of the fact that an applet cannot make a connection to a machine
other than the one it was downloaded from. So an applet downloaded from 127.0.0.1 cannot make a connection to another machine 17.98.56.143 (unless the security policy is made less strict by means of certificates.)
2. The EJB servers listen on non standard ports (weblogic listens on 7001) whereas normal firewall installations block all ports other than 80. so a product which worked beautiflly in you dev environment goes but when you deploy in the real environment.
Applets should connect to EJBs through the means of the web-tier and not directly.

2 local ejb and one remote session bean in same server - java client
idea was -
to create a new stateless session bean that will talk to the two entity beans. although the session bean will expose its method through a remote interface, the communication betweenn the session bean and the entity beans will be through a local interface. the assumptions is that all three ejbs are running in the same JVM.
so -
all three ejbs complied properly.
but -
when i tried to test with one 'sample test client' then this is the error i get.

The client instance is a wrapper for the ejb. It contains all the remote methods available on your ejb.
