J2EE and IBM MQSeries

We are planning to use IBM MQSeries as a JMS server for message driven beans.
We are using OC4J 2.0 developer preview, but can't figure out how to connect to MQSeries. It looks like we have to use JNDI, but how?

I think what you are saying is JMS is the preferred
way to communicate with MOM (i.e. MQ) as it is
standard and not vendor dependant. My concern is
this:
If we write a stand alone program to send/retrieve
meessage from MQ then how do we create
ConnectionFactory and connection? Personally I prefer to use Dependency Injection using a library like Spring to configure things like JMS connection factories, JDBC DataSources etc.

though the more typical (and some would say official) way of doing it is to use JNDI in your application. So create a JNDI context and pull the JMS ConnectionFactory and destinations out of JNDI.

Then you need to refer to your JMS provider's documentation on how to configure a JNDI context. Typically its a case of adding a jndi.properties file to the classpath configured to your provider's JNDI provider.
Don't we need MQ
classes to create these objects.Yes, you need the classes from your JMS provider to create connections & sessions. (Its not like EJB remoting where you can create client side proxies from the EJB interfaces).

Remote queue in XI server for IBM MQSeries

Dear All,
my scenario is IBM MQSeries -> message via sender JMS adapter -> XI -> receiver RFC adapter -> R/3.
now for IBM MQSeries to send a message to XI via a transmission queue in MQSeries - it needs a remote queue name and queue manager name in XI server.
So now where can i find these information regarding remote queue name and queue manager name in XI server. I currently do not know whether in XI server, currently is there any remote queue or not? So how to find this information. If we do not have remote queue manager in XI currently, then how to install a remote queue name and queue manager in XI server.
It is slightly urgent. So i request you all to please reply quickly.

i have written '<IP_ADRESS>:<MQ_QUEUE_MANAGER>' just to hide the data - i am getting <IP_ADRESS> as IP Adress i gave in JMS adapter and <MQ_QUEUE_MANAGER> as Queue Manager i gave in JMS adapter.
i am using the correct IP and 1414 port of MQSeries server. I have used a MQQueueManager defined in MQSeries. i have deployed JMS adapter properly in XI server.
So can anybody suggest what could be the possible reason of this error and how to rectify it. It is slightly urgent.
One more question - should the queue manager in MQSeries server be a local or remote queue manager..........i was not able to create a remote queue manager in MQSeries 5.2.1 as by default it is creating a local queue manager.......

Newbie : Problem starting OPG for IBM MQseries: TNS-00530, Error Code 2

First of all, if this is the wrong place to post this question, I apologize.
I have installed a new installation of Oracle 9.2.0.1 and at a separate home location the OPG for IBM MQSeries for 9.2.0.1 off the same bits.
The configuration said that the default SID of PG4MQS92 would be setup since I was using a local MQ queue manager but I didnt see any entries in the listener.ora or the tnsames.ora so added the following.

Weblogic 8.1 App Server and IBM MQ Series 5.2 Issue

 I am trying to create a bridge between Weblogic 8.1 App Server and IBM MQ Series 5.2 and i am facing issues.
 Bridge works fine if i use QualityOfService="Atmost-once" and i am getting following error when i use
 QualityOfService="Duplicate-okay".

It is weird that nothing shows up in the log after you turned on the debug.
 Actually I knew somebody has run into the same problem once.
 The problem disappeared after he did something on the MQSeries side (like
 restart the system and something else). I did not know exactly what he did.
 I am not sure if that will help you but worth trying.
 If that does work either, I'd suggest that you contact the BEA Customer Support
 and somebody will look at it for you in depth.

IBM MQSeries Gateway

I would like to connect to IBM MQSeries v.5.3
from an Oracle 9.2.
According to Metalink and Oracle documentation,
I could use PG4MQ
(Oracle Procedural Gateway) or
Messaging Gateway using AQ.
They have different architecture
and different configuration.
Which one is better ?
During the Oracle installation I
have only the PG4MQ option,
so how I could use Oracle Procedural Gateway

How to synchronize PI service registry and IBM WSRR

In our current project we have developed one web service which resides in SAP CE and is registered in SAP PI Service Registry.
But our client has IBM websphere that acts as a middleware for all ther services (interfaces/web services)
Now, I need to understand how to synchronize SAP PI Service Registry with IBM WSRR (Websphere Services Registry and Repository)
What are the steps/configurations need to be performed at PI end and IBM WSRR end?

I've to write program which should be in working similar to video on demand system but without streaming movies only database and etc.
I'm gonna write database in mysql. It will contain user and movies. I'll use the tomcat server.
Can you tell me what should i learn to do it, i mean can i use jdbc to do it or maybe i should use something diffrent, and what will i need more i mean jsp, servlets?

Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries

i am doing a IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Message ->sender JMS adapter -> XI server -> receiver RFC adapter -> R/3.
i have deployed the JMS adapter with the required jar files of IBM MQSeries 5.2.x in XI server.
in Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries 5.2.x, i have put following data:
1. Transport Protocol: Websphere MQ - is it okay?
in JMS provider settings:
2. in channel name - what should be there?
3. Transport Network protocol should be TCP/IP or WebsphereMQ - how to decide this thing.
4. JMS Complaint - whether WebsphereMQ or JMS API.
in JMS Settings:
5. JMS Queue user - is this IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Queue User or someother user?
6. JMS Message Selector - what data to take here.
So if anybody has connected IBM MQSeries 5.2.x to XI via JMS adapter, please answer my above queries.

one more question - to connect XI server to IBM MQSeries via JMS adapter in ID, do we need to have a MQSeries Client installed on XI server - or - just by configuring JMS adapter, we can send messages from IBM MQSeries to XI server without any MQSeries client on XI server?

Developing an Android mobile project with FB 4.5. Set original project-->properties-->flex server to standalone with coldfusion as server. After setting web root, Root URL and Coldfusion root folder app works fine with CF. Sometime during development, flex server gets set to J2EE and CF access halts. Go back into project-->properties-->flex server and reset server to 'standalone' with original settings. click Apply or OK and assume that it is reset but it does not. Go back into flex server settings and it is still J2EE. I have seen this issue before and can not resolve it or find any other threads where there is a resolution to this. My only way to continue is to start a new mobile project, import the files and continue. This is not an acceptable way to design any mobile project!! HELP!!

RFC calls with SAP JCO and IBM resource adapter for SAP - basic tuning

Hi experts,
we are working on a java portal connected to a backend system SAP by calling RFCs.
On our first integration tests, it appears to be quite slow fetching data from SAP by calling the remote functions from the custom portal. We are using SAP JCo 3.0.6 and IBM resource adapter for SAP 7.0.0.3 to integrate SAP with our portal.
Is there any basic tuning to achieve to improve performances or any hint of where to tune in SAP ?

Hi Jamal,
I understand you have already checked performance issues in the SAP Server. We had some problems with certain RFC calls and it turned out to be a badly developed ABAP sentence.
I'd recommend you to use httpwatch or another tool to check the response times from the browser, so you can point accurately where the is.

mmmh. Did you compared the select count(*) from your_table; in the two cases.
If the result is not good and nobody has deleted rows between migration and your test, you migration need to be replayed.
Which migration did you select, Transportable database or exp/imp...?
