J2EE client side dev tool

I'm looking for development tools that will help me speed up the development of the client side (JSP and servlets) of my application.
The dynamic web pages contain a lot of forms (lists) with filter capabilities.
I'm using JBuilder but I'm looking for a tool (visual drag and drop?) to automate the production of these pages.
The architecture is Oracle database, toplink, Struts, servlet, JSP. No JavaBeans.
Anyone with an idea?

Sure, you can use Struts.. and I found that the use
of Hibernate(a persistence mechanism for business objects)
really helps speed things up. handles all your sql for
you.

  • Oracle Dev Tools 10.1.0.4 and R2 Client

    Hi,
    I have installed the 10gR2 Client (including 10.2 ODP.NET).
Now I want the Dev Tools but the only version available is 10.1.0.4. If I choose the same oracle home, OUI will reinstall ODP.NET 10.1.0.4 and other older files...
Do I have to wait for Dev Tools 10.2 ?? If not, how could I install it without have two version of client and ODP.NET ?
    Thx

    Hi,
If you want to use the 10G Release 2 client with ODT you will need to wait for the next release which is due before the end of the year. As you noted, your other option is to use the 10.1.0.x client / ODT / ODP.NET installation.

  • Client side event for h:outputText... and other JSF component

    Hello friends...
I need client side (to use Java script ) event for change in <h:outputText /> or <h:inputText...>.
I want to open a popup window when there is a change in there. I donot want to use onblur() for this. Is there any thing for achiev it.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jacek,
Unfortunately I think you may be stuck extending Renderer. Another possibility is creating your component via a template, which will be available in JSF 2.0. However, as JSF 2.0 won't be out for a while... you can use JSFTemplating in the meantime:

  • Debugging SSRS client side script

    Hi eb
I would appriciate your recomendations for debbuging SSRS client side functionality
especially when it is embedded in web applications like performancepoint dashboards.
Was any one succesfull in using IE developer tools script debbuger
    - or any other tool fot this matter?
    For example
I would like to put a breakpoint on the function which opens the plus sign next to row groups and step into its
code but dont know how to locate it inside the script that is presented to me in IE script debbuger...
IE dev tools should be usefull on debuging specific user issues.
Does visual studio have other usefull methods for debugging SSRS reports - I am interested especially
in debugging SSRS functions that sometimes do not work as i expect...
    TIA!
    Rea

    Hi Rea,
Per my understanding you want to know some information about using the Visual Studio to do the debugging, right?
Example, If you want to debug a customized extension for SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) in Visual Studio, you can attach the process to ReportingSerivcesService. We need to check the items "Show processes from all users" and "Show
processes in all sessions" to show the "ReportingSerivcesService. exe" process.
Additionally, please make sure the customized extension is invoked in the Reporting Services(make sure all configurations is set correctly), otherwise we won't be able to run into the breakpoint. More Details information in this article for your reference:Start
a debugging session for a Store app in Visual Studio (VB, C#, C++ and XAML)
You can also add the debugger keyword in the code, see
Debug JavaScript and jQuery using Visual Studio in Internet Explorer browser

  • How to use KeyChain API from client-side HTML scripting in Safari on iPad?

I have a requirement where I need to add client-side scripting in an HTML page to be supported by Safari on iPad that creates a private / public key pair and that creates a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) in PKCS#10 or SPKAC format that can be sent to a certification authority server using form HTTP/POST that will then return the generated certificate.
I initially thought that I could simply use the HTML 5 tag <keygen> which can do exactly what I need, but unfortunately this tag is not at all supported on mobile Apple devices like iPad or iPhone, so I have to look for another solution.
I have noticed that the KeyChain tool should be available on iPad using the documented API, but I have no idea based on the documentation whether the API can be called from client-side HTML scripting on iPad.
Question : is it technically possible using the functionalities and API's exposed on an iPad to implement what I just described in HTML client-side scripting? If so, do you have some links with useful information that can help me on my way?

I am having an issue whenever I try to access my Open Directory. It says Uncaught exception raised in Open Directory client-side plugin.

I'm having a hard time finding a directory with the relative plugin. Could you point me the right way? Perhaps finding and deleting that little bugger would help?  I'm running Lion Server 10.7.3 with the 10.7.3 Server Admin tools. The goal here is to set up Deploy Studio for our organization, which I had working for a little while until this little guy started rearing his ugly head.
    Thanks much-

    Dear cdolan92,
not really. It has been a while. I think I also deleted server.app and admin tools and reinstalled those.
Perhaps I even did a backup of open directory and turned off the master to local and back to master.
But I am not sure any more.

Problem Description: we have a production server that oracle 11gr2 installed and oracle clients (application servers) with 11gr2 clients. what could be the problem or how can i trace it in order to determine the exact problem? is there any parameter that i need to adjust in client side to ensure that every connection reaches the production server ?

There is often an ORA-0600 or ORA-7445 behind these.
These should produce an entry in the alert log and an associated trace file which a) can be used in the ORA-600/7445 lookup tool on Metalink and also uploaded to Oracle Support.

A bit quick to answer - I didn't see the large section of TNS information from the alert log.

  • Using scan name in tns file not working at client side...

    Hi All,
I have installed 2 node RAC -11gR2 on ORACLE VM Server 2.2.1.
now, I want to give tnsentry to dev team to use this RACDB.
I am using scan name in tnsnames.ora file. Also I have make scan name entry in /etc/hosts not in the DNS.
I have below entry in RACDB server...
    RACDB =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = RWCORA-cluster-scan)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = racdb)
== now in dev user side, If I give the same above tns entry and make entry of this scan name and two VIPs in /etc/hosts file of dev user then SQL*Plus is successfully connected but not JDBC like SQL*Developer.
I have make below entry in dev user's /etc/hosts file:
    10.40.0.51     RWCORARAC1-vip
    10.40.0.52 RWCORARAC2-vip
    10.40.0.50     RWCORA-cluster-scan
Is this correct way or suggest me perfect link through which I canconnect all OCI, JDBC connection from client side.
    Thanks...

you can use JDBC thin URL in SQL developer.
Choose NEW/DATABASE CONNECTION, then put the connection type "Advanced" and then place the jdbc url as :
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=RWCORA-cluster-scan)(PORT=1521))(LOAD_BALANCE=yes)(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=racdb)(FAILOVER_MODE=(TYPE=SELECT)(METHOD=BASIC)(RETRIES=180)(DELAY=5))))

  • Client-side caching of Javascript (for Google Web Toolkit *.cache.* files

    Hi all,
I'm trying out the use of Google Web Toolkit (GWT) for AJAX code development, leveraging RPC calling back-end Web Services for a document browser prototype.  When the JavaScript code is generated by GWT, it has the ability to automatically distinguish between cacheable and non-cacheable content via file extensions (.cache. and .nocache.).
Now when running in a Tomcat environment with appropriate caching settings; the application runs extremely fast even on really poor latency sites (>500ms round trip); however on a NetWeaver stack, I can't find any information on how to set an attribute on .cache. files to set an expiry of 1 year.
Anyone know how to do this on a NetWeaver J2EE stack?
    Thanks,
    Matt
PS. For reference, GWT is a very cool open source project worth watching in the Enterprise space for targeted high-usability, high performance apps.  Just the image bundles concept themselves are an awesome approach to minimizing impact of small images on performance.

    Hi again,
I thought I should post the solution I came up with in case people search on GWT in the future.  In terms of caching, the Portal does a good job of making nearly everything that GWT produces to be cached at the client; and for the life of me, I couldn't get nocache files not cached at the client side.
So thanks to my friendly local SAP experts in the portal space; I discovered there's not much you can do to get this working except try use standard browser tags like the following to prevent caching on the browser:
Note - Can't seem to save this post in SDN with Meta tags that I'm trying to display so check out http://www.willmaster.com/library/tutorials/preventing_content_cache.php for more info...
Unfortunately, the way that GWT creates the nocache files, it is not possible to modify the .js files to do this so I needed an alternative approach.
Then I thought, well, the html file that includes the JS file is cached, but it's not very big, so how about I just write a script to modify the html file when I deploy to production to point to the nocache file with a date suffix.
Let me explain in more detail:
    1. The original html file that includes the nocache.js file gets modified to point to nocache.<date>.js.
    2. The original nocache.js file gets changed to nocache.<date>.js
    3. Now produce an external bat file to do this automatically for you before deployment which DevStudio can call as part of an Ant script or similar.
That's it.  So when you are developing, you can manually delete your cache, but just before you go to production, you do this conversion, and you will never have an issue with clients having the wrong version of javascript files.
Note - GWT takes care of caching of most of the files by using a GUID equivalenet each time you compile, so it's just a couple of files that really need to not be cached.
Anyway, I'm not explaining this solution very well, but drop us a line if you need to understand this approach further.
And lastly, my feedback about GWT - It Rocks!  Everyone loves the result, it's easy to build and maintain, it offers a great user experience, and it's fast.  Not a replacement for transactional apps; but for the occasional user - go for it.

  • Import TermSet CSV using client side object model

    Hello,
I want to import CSV in TermStore using client side object model. Unfortunately there is no ImportManager here.
Is there any other way (Other than reading from CSV and adding term one by one to term store)?
    Regards, Nanddeep Nachan

    Hi,
Here is a tool(server-side) from codeplex for your reference:
SharePoint 2010 CSV Bulk Taxonomy TermSet Importer/Exporter
If you want to import termsets  from CSV in Client-Side, we can refer the tool above.
You can develop a windows form application and use .Net Client Object Model to achieve it. The following articles is about how to operate the termset using Client Object Model for you reference:

  • What is Sharepoint client side object model ?

What is Sharepoint client side object model ?

The client-side object model (CSOM) provides client-side applications with access to a subset of the SharePoint Foundation server object model, including core objects such as site collections, sites, lists, and list items. As described in Data Access for
Client Applications, the CSOM actually consists of three distinct APIs—the ECMAScript object model, the Silverlight client object model, and the .NET managed client object model—that target distinct client platforms. The ECMAScript object model and the Silverlight
client object model provide a smaller subset of functionality. This is designed to enhance the user experience, because it minimize the time it takes Silverlight applications or JavaScript functions running in a Web page to load the files required for operation.
The .NET managed client object model provides a larger subset of functionality for standalone client applications. However, these APIs provide a broadly similar developer experience and work in a similar way.
You can write both managed client object model code and JavaScript Client Object model code in Visual Studio. As an example, you can create a console application having managed client object model code. Similarly, you may create a Visual Web Part and have
JavaScript client object model code in it. The JavaScript client object model code can also be directly written inside the SharePoint Designer as well.
