J2ee engine startup error- cant attach shared memory

Hello Experts,
We have upgraded ERP abap+java to EHP4 but J2ee engine is not coming up. It is giving the following errors. There are no issues on the abap side.
Bootstrap logs are fine and are able to syncronize.
Following is the dev_jcontrol log.

  • SAP installtion stopped - error cant create shared memory

    Dear All,
    Greetings!
We are trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 IDES system on Windows 2003 x64 Server and DB2 9.1, during the process of installation - in the step of Start Instance. The sapinst Gives Up! the process since the enqueue server is found in stopped state when the instance tries to start up.
I found the below given error message from the Developer Trace files of the enqueue server.

To note - we had a virus attack on the server recently and an Anti-Virus tool was used to clean the server, after that I found most of the SAP folders in Read-Only mode.
I suspect any causes of the same for the above mentioned ACCESS_DENIED error. Currently I have allocated 28GB of swap size, but the SAP instance is not able to create a shared memory from the same I hope.

    - How will I be able to enable the swap size of the server to be used by the SAP instance?
    - Is this the effect of the anti-virus or an aspect in windows server to change the folders and files to read-only after a virus attack?
I have tried the possibilities of adding more shared memory, removing the shared memory and restarting the OS and assigning back the same, but these dint prove useful.
Kindly help me with your suggestions.
    Thank you

    Hi,
I would suggest you to go to run > services.msc
now try to manually stop / start the SAP<SID>_<nr> services. are you able to start it properly? If you get error here, that means SAP services not able to start as it has permission problem.
login with <sid>adm & reregister the service by running sapstartsrv.exe in <drive>:\usr\sap\SID\sys\exe. after you give the parameters and press ok, wait for sometime for the 'success' message.
once its done, then start sap in MMC.
another thread talks about similar kind of problem.

  • ORA-27123 unable to attach shared memory segment

Running oracle 8.1.5.0.0 on Redhat 6.0 with kernel 2.2.12, I keep getting the error ORA-27123 unable to attach shared memory segment when trying to startup and instance with an SGA > 150 MB or so. I have modified the shmmax and shmall kernel parameters via the /proc/sys interface. The relevant output of ipcs -l is below:
    ------ Shared Memory Limits --------
max number of segments = 128
max seg size (kbytes) = 976562
max total shared memory (kbytes) = 16777216
min seg size (bytes) = 1
This system has 2gb of physical memory and is doing nothing except oracle.
I changed the shmmax and shmall parameters after the instance was created, was their something I needed to do to inform Oracle of the changes?

    High JW,
i had the same problem on my installation.
The solution is written in the Oracle8i Administrator Refernece on page 1-26 "Relocating the SGA"
    a) determine the valid adress range for Shared Memory with:
    $ tstshm
in the output Lowest & Highest SHM indicate the valid adress range
    b) run genksms to generate the file ksms.s
    $ cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib
    $ $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genksms -b "sga_beginn_adress" > ksms.s
    c) shut down any instance
    d) rebuilt the oracle exe in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib
    $ make -f ins_rdbms.mk ksms.o
    $ make -f ins_rdbms.mk ioracle
the result is a new oracle kernel that loads the SGA at the adress specified in "sga_beginn_adress".
    regards
    Gerhard

  • TNS-01115: OS error 28 creating shared memory segment of 129 bytes

    hi
we are operating a solaris v5.8 with 10 instances of 10.2.0.1 databases running. each with its own listener. the system shmmni=3600 and using ipcs all are being used causing the error TNS-01115: OS error 28 creating shared memory segment of 129 bytes to occur.
The kernal parameters were set to be the same as a similiar server we have with the same configuration and more databases and that box uses only 53 memory segments
Does anyone have any ideas as to what would make this happen?

i wish i could. there was one db that was not needed so i just shut it down and stopped the listener. then took an ipcs -m reading. it returned 48 rows, instead of 3603 as it did when this particular db was up. in my haste i removed the db as it was not needed so i no longer have the logs to research. too bad on my part.
well at least i have a fix but have no idea why this happened. thank you for your responses. greatly appreciated.

  • Max attached shared memory segments

    Hi all.
I have a client/server model using SunOs 5.8 in which the server creates one shared memory segment in a single process and attaches that segment to all connected clients' shared memory.
My question is how many clients can I support with this model? The maximum # of shared memory segments that can be attached is 6 per process according to sysdef info, but so far I have attached 8 ( meaning I have connected 8 clients to the server and have attached the shared memory of the server to each of the eight clients' shared memory). Therefore, I have 8 attached shared memory segments to the server's shared memory segment, which is more than 6. The system value of SHMSEG has not been changed. Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Roy Park
    [email protected]

I am not sure if I am reading your setup correctly, but it sounds like you may only be allocating one shared memory segment. That one shared memory segment is then attached by all of the clients. If that is the case, you can attach a virtually unlimited number of clients.
The shmseg parameter limits the number of segments which can be attached by a single process. In other words if the clients each create a shared memory segment and the server attaches to all of those, then the limit should have been reached. I would like to see a little more information if that is the case. (ipcs output to start)

I can help with this problem .... thanks ....
I like to see that show me with pictures as I am new in this aspect of oracle .... and want to learn it .... thank you very much

    Hello friend..
The error you are getting *"ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist"* may be coz you are trying to connect to your database which is already shutdown not as sysdba user but as some other user, becoz of which you are getting this error. It sometimes happen that the service of the database is already started but when you try to connect to a shutdown database as users other then sys even having the DBA priviledges you cannot connect to database.
Try to connect as SYS user hope your problem will be resolved.

  • J2EE Engine startup page error: File [main.jsp] not found in application..

    Hi Guys,
I have just uninstalled and reinstalled SAP Netweaver 7.01 portal. The uninstall was clean and the reinstall also went without any errors.
However, immediately after this, when I open http://<host>:<port> I get the following error:
    404   Not Found
The requested resource /main.jsp is not available
Details:   File main.jsp not found in application root of alias [/] of J2EE application [sap.com/com.sap.engine.docs.examples].
If, instead, I open portal (http://<host>:<port>/irj), it works fine.
Anybody has any idea why this has happened and how can I resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Shitij

    Hi Anil,
I don't see how this note is relevant here. It is just the j2ee engine start page which is not opening. If I go straight to the systeminfo page or the portal login page, they are all working.
Any experience on this issue with that note u suggested? Please share.
    Thanks,

I have tried the boot.ini settings  of /3GB & /PAE with no luck. The only major non Windows services running are the MaxDb & SAP software (as well as antivirus & backup).

From the posted error log, it seems that you tried to install CE on the D drive. If the problem is not yet resolved, I would suggest the following:
    1. Uninstall the existing MAXDB installation first and then the CE installation.
    2. If uninstalling is not fully successful by any chance, then manually delete the content of D:\usr folder (including D:\usr).
    3. Restart the machine.
    4. Install it on C drive. Make sure you have all the pre-requisite software mentioned in the html based installation document.
I faced a similar problem while trying to install CE on the D drive on a Win XP machine but it got resolved in the 2nd attempt when I tried on the C drive.
    Wish you all the best.

  • ERROR - ORA-01034: shared memory realm does not exist

Hallo!I am a newbie in Oracle in Linux.I have just installed Oracle 10g in Oracle Eenterprise Linux version 4 Update 7.The installation was successful and I could
work with sqlplus, isqlplus and Enterprise Manager. When I restarted my machine,I manually started the listener,OEM and isqlplus which started successfully.
However, when I try to log into OEM and isqlplus, the error message below appears
ERROR - ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
    How do I resolve this?
    Thanks.

ERROR - ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory An Oracle instance consists of a number of Oracle server processes (the limbs) and a shared memory area (the brain). Each and every server process participating in that Oracle instance needs to attach to the shared memory area.
The error message you see, states that the server process (launched in order to service your sqlplus/OEM client), failed to find and attach to this shared memory segment.
Two basic reasons for the failure.
The Oracle instance is not running. There are no shared memory area and Oracle server processes running for that instance. Solution: start up the database instance.
The server process was launched with the incorrect parameters (ORACLE_SID specifically) and attempted to attach to shared memory that does not exist. Solution: review the TNS/JDBC parameters of the client connection and configuration of the Oracle Listener to ensure that a server process launched to service a client, does so with the correct parameters and environment.

    ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Using the Database Administration section of the help.sap.com library, I found the location of SAPDB/MySQL log files.  They are in C:\sapdb\data\wrk\J2E.  In 'knldiag' I found entries complaining of Log files being full and tasks put in suspension.
So I figured out to do a full back up of the DB and/or backup the log files.  The log file bar (in MMC) still showed 100% full, but I figured out to refresh the view and voila it was empty (so one of the backups emptied it, not sure which one).
After that the DB comes up fine and now my J2E WebAS goes all green.

I also had this error and was solved with just uninstalling everything and reinstalling it again.
I followed the following steps proposed in other forum:
    Regards,
    María Margarita Monteverde
    Hello Andre,
It seems that you'd already an NWDS installation on your machine that wasn't de-installed completely. Before you install an new NWDS you must be sure that the following steps have been checked:
    1) Having completely run the de-installation routine of the NWDS
    2) It’s recommended to delete the directories “c:program filessapide” and “c:program filessapjdt” to be sure that there won’t stay any ‘old’ files.
    3) Furthermore you should delete the folder ‘workspace’ (including all files and subfolders) in the path ‘c:documents and settingsDocumentsSAP’ (where d012345 is your username). Or move this folder somewhere in the file system, afterwards you may re-import the 'old' projects.
    4) It's recommended to delete all .dtr/.dtc/.metadata directories in your personal folder (e.g. C:Documents and Settingsd0abcde).
Please stop the IDE before you do all these steps.
    Regards,
    Jan

  • J2EE Engine Jcontrol Error :Oracle upgrade 10 to11  :ODBC driver Solution

    Hello Every one,
To  make a valuable information for Oracle upgrade from Oracle 10 to oracle 11.2.0.2 on Java environment.
Please do the following changes to avoid JDBC driver version error.
Memo : When The upgrade happens the JDBC drivers are overwritten under drive:/oracle/.../JDBC/lib
you will not see classes12.jar and nls_charset12.jar which is a part of Oracle 10 and JDBC driver version. Thereis no such files for Oracle 11. The application is not supported under Oracle 11.
Following steps will make the J2ee Engine work.
    1. Upgrade SDK to 1.6. and verify using Java -version. Set Path and Class path.
    2. Since the Jdk is changed now do update in this 3 files
      a. SID_JC01_hostname
In this file update the parameter "jstartup/vm/home = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26"
    b. Also for SID_SCS00_Hostname
    3. Check for j2ee/dbdriver = $(DIR_EXECUTABLE)\ojdbc14.jar    which can work with this version at this time or need to change to ojdbc6.jar
in profile parameter, bootstrap properties (:\usr\sap\sid\jc01\j2ee\cluster\bootstrap), and template configuaration file in usr\sap\sid\jc01\j2ee
    4. Copy classes12.jar and nls_charset12.jar in \oracle\jdbc\lib from any Oracle 10 installation. and set in classpath.
    5. Hope last the password in secure  store is correct.
    Restart the cluster.
This is exclusively of your oracle is upgraded and J2ee does not come up.
    Regards,
    Chetan Poojary.

I think you'd need to contact Oracle support to get access to older versions of the driver.
Since 8.0.5 isn't supported any longer, however, is it possible for you to update your Oracle client to one of the supported releases-- 8.1.7 or 9i?

  • CS3 suddenly has a startup error, cant find MFC71.DLL

Start CS3 normally, and suddenly get this error:
Adobe Photoshop CS3: Photoshop.exe - Unable To Locate Component (title bar
    of error dialog)
This application has failed to start because MFC71.DLL was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
    OK
I click on OK and CS3 starts, but with differences. Seems some of the
windows on the right are missing now. Bridge still runs fine, I can edit
RAW files from Bridge to ACR4.5, then open from that into Photoshop, then
convert and save the files. I don't seem to have a Layers palette now or a
    Tool Options palette.
I had just gone through and uninstalled a number of old applications. None
were Adobe programs though. Immediately after doing that, this error
    started.
I found MFC71.DLL, but putting it in the Photoshop installation folder
didn't help. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Hopefully without
re-installing CS3. I have also just discovered that my DVD rewriter will
not recognize the CS3 DVD, so doing a reinstall from the disk will require a
    new DVD drive first.
The Adobe updater works and I updated PS to 10.01, and still get that
startup error and have missing palettes.
    Thanks!
    Michael

It belongs in the Windows\system32 folder.
    I also have copies in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater and C:\Program Files\Adobe\CS3\Acrobat 8.0\Designer 8.0
All of the copies I found are version 7.10.3077.0
