J2ME Web Services proxy

I try to register a web service with mobile studio,
(I use my account on studio.oraclemobile.com) so as to generate J2ME stub and run the service in proxy mode.
The problem is, whichever URL I put for wsdl files, I get "The URL you entered does not contain a valid WSDL file." The URLs are correct, I tried many of them, including all given in 9iAS Wireless 904 docs, like
http://www.xmethods.net/sd/2001/TemperatureService.wsdl
http://www.xmethods.net/sd/2001/FedExTrackerService.wsdl
as well as some others.
I can view these WSDL files in browser and can't understand why they would be invalid.
I wanted to check proxying feature with Mobile Studio first, then migrate it to a running 9iAS server - I have already tried Mobile Studio AND 9iAS, and both failed.
Is there something I do wrong?
Anyone, I will appreciate any help on that.
Thanks
Pawel

Thomas,
I checked the HTTP header I receive when "manually" requesting WSDLs. No encoding is shown, so I guess it's default UTF-8, and content-type is text/xml. What else could possibly go wrong?
I also checked those WSDLs with a few validators (both online and offline like XMLSpy), documents were well-formed as well as valid.
Any hint why I still can't get it to work?
If there is a public available Web Service that you tried and know works well with Mobile Studio (or 9iAS),let me know the URL please.
I suppose there is no problem with URLs themselves as (1)I successfully registered a multichanell application in Mobile Studio fetching Simple XML from external URLs, (2)I can view those WSDLs as "plain" XMLs in IE6.0..

  • Web service proxy and data control are not working properly

    Hi,
    I am working on jDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    I have a SOA web service which requires 3 inputs and return with a set of data.
    When I tried testing that web service in soapUI it is working perfect. But when I have created a web service proxy in my application and trying to test it from class (*******_ptClient) main method everytime it is replying with the output null
    Also When I am requesting from the main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side.
    After that I have created web service data control and tested in that case also it is not showing any result.
    What could be the problem ?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi Shay Shmeltzer,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I tried in HTTP Analyzer in JDeveloper and there also it is not working. My concern is :-
    There are many other web services deployed on the same SOA server in same partition and they are working fine in HTTP analyzer and I am able to create and use the web service proxy as well. So as per my understanding there is nothing like network issues between SOA server and jDeveloper.
    1 more thing When I am creating the proxy for this web service and requesting from the proxy's main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side. The problem is jDeveloper is not able to get back that response which SOA is returning.
    Please Help.

    Hi,

    Hi,
    It might be that the .net service which you have is not WS-I compliant. Can you first run WS-I Analyzer on the wsdl to see it the test passes.

  • Error creating web service proxy for bpel process in jdev 10.1.3

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a web service proxy in Jdeveloper 10.1.3, and get the following error:
    Element type "fault" is missing required attribute "name"
    I have created a fault on one of the operations, and in the .wsdl file there is a name attribute:
    <operation name="process">
    <fault name="TestError" message="client:TestErrorMessage"/>

    The fault definition in the .wsdl obtained from the process when you access it over http is somewhat different:

  • Web service proxy take ~4 minutes to detect connection problem in AIX!

    Dear All,
    i am developing a client application that consume web service , by jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.
    i found a problem, in AIX, that the web service proxy generated by jdeveloper take long time
    to detect connection problem to the server (e.g. server is down, network down, invalid
    ip address or port supplied).
    in ms window, if the proxy can't reach the server, it throw exception within seconds.
    but in ibm AIX, it take about 4 minutes !!! the time is too long until the exception is thrown.
    could anybody help me?
    is there something i can set to greatly shorten the hanging time when connection
    problem?
    thank you.

    nobody experience this problem?

  • WEB SERVICE PROXY GENERATED USING 11.1.1.5.0 WSDL FAILS WITH 11.1.1.6.0

    I have created a Web Service Proxy project in Jdev using BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0 WSDL (ReportService). Generated ReportService_Service method uses following QName to get the port:
    namespaceURI = "http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/v2"
    localPart = "*v2/ReportService*"
    Reports are generated successfully via Web Services when using BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0 but when I use BI Publisher 11.1.1.6.x, it fails with this exception:
    +'javax.el.ELException: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: {http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/v2}v2/ReportService is not a valid port. Valid ports are: {http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/v2}ReportService'+
    I noticed that if the Web Service Proxy project is created using BI Publisher 1.1.1.1.6.0 WSDL (ReportService), the generated ReportService_Service method uses following QName to get the port:
    namespaceURI = "http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/v2"
    localPart = "*ReportService*"
    We are supporting both 11.1.1.5.0 and 11.1.1.6.x, so is there a way to make it work with both.
    FYI, I have tried removing v2 but then it only works with 11.1.1.6.0 and fails with 11.1.1.5.0.
    +Caused By: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: {http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/v2}ReportService is not a valid port. Valid ports are: {http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/*v2}v2/*ReportService+

    Dear,
    found the solution (after trying last 1-2 days ...).
    I was already using java 1.7 update 7.
    I had to start java settings and to deselect Java 1.7.0_07.
    Instead I selected latest Java version from Apple: 1.6.0_35-b10-428.
    With these settings the installer finishes without crash.
    Kind regards

  • Test web service proxy using EJB session bean client...

    Hello!
    I am following this blog /people/abdelmorhit.elrhazi/blog/2009/10/30/how-to-consume-an-inbound-backend-web-service-in-nwdsjboss-environment to create a EJB session bean client to access the web service proxy...
    The blog is not very clear. Where should I be deploying the web service proxy and the EJB session bean (web service client) ? on the PI 7.1 ?
    How to find out the URL for the wsdl ?
    Thanks

    > The blog is not very clear. Where should I be deploying the web service proxy and the EJB session bean (web service client) ? on the PI 7.1 ?
    "To deploy your web service proxy and session bean, right click on your JBoss server in the Servers view, and click on Add Remove Projects, add you ear file and click finish."
    You need a JBoss server.

  • Web Service Proxy with Dynamic IP and Port

    hi,
    I am currently looking at the Web Service Proxy generation in JDev 11g. I can generate proxies fine, but the proxies are generated with static host and port. I want to substitute the host and port during runtime if required, for instance read the values from a database. I need to do this to avoid compiling the application for every deployment we make dev, test and production. Is there an easy way to set the generated proxy host and port? Are there any examples?
    Thanks in advance!
    Stephen

    Hi,
    Maybe you should have a look on XML Catalogs feature, but I am not sure if JDeveloper support it and how to support it.

  • Web service proxy receiving single element in array

    I've generated a web service proxy over a web service and expect to get multiple elements returned from the web service. However when I excute the proxy I receive only the first element. Testing the web service with the same parameters on the application server shows that I should be receiving 3 elements in total. Not sure where the disconnect is in generating the response message within the proxy. Any suggestions is appreciated.

    Are you looking for SOAP ENC Array feature? Which version are you using 10134 or 11g?

  • Web Service Proxy not returning Response in 11g

    Hi,
    I am facing a difference in the creation of Web Service Proxy in 11g when compared to 10g. I have exposure of creating a Web Service Proxy in 10g and I do observe that the folder name 'runtime' gets generated automatically along with the proxy at the time of creation.
    But in 11g, the nature & behavior of Web Service Proxy creation has changed a lot according to my observation. I am facing an issue where the response object is not returning the expected results as per the functionality.
    In 10g, we have used a Stub class (automatically created under 'runtime' folder) and we are able to put some logs to see the request and response object in the form of 'xml'. But in 11g, I am facing difficulty in getting the same logged to see the response from OPA.
    Please share your thoughts which would definitely help me in resolving this issue.
    With Regards,
    Thiyagarajan V

    Hi,
    I have also tried using 'Web Service Data Control' as an alternate method to overcome the above mentioned issue. But I have ended up the error "DCA-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException,msg=null" and failed to create a data control.
    The JDeveloper version which I am using is 11.1.1.5.0. I also came to know that there is a patch (9790388) which has resolved this bug in JDeveloper. I also applied the same patch in my Oracle Home using OPatch utility.
    But unfortunatley, the version suitable for this patch is 11.1.1.4.0 and I suspected that could be one of the reason that the problem has not got resolved yet.
    Please suggest the patch or any solution which can also help me in resolving this issue. I really appreciate your time and effort in sharing your thoughts for the problems which I have mentioned over here.
    Thank you !!!

  • Web Service Proxy Project Grayed Out in App with All Technologies

    I have created a new application with "No Template [All Technologies]" in Jdev 10.1.3.5.0.4306. I want to create a web service proxy, but there are many choices grayed out, including the web service proxy. The only selection available under the Business Tier --> Web Services is the UDDI Registry Connection. Any ideas on what I need to do?
    I just downloaded JDev 10.1.3.5 from Oracle and I get the same issue.

    Hi there,
    On your project properties (double click on the project name) go to Technology Scope if you are in 11.1.1.6.0 or Features if you are in 11.1.2.x then select web services, click ok and now when you go to new all your Webservices options should be enable.

  • Web Service proxy deployment and reuse

    Jdev. 11.1.1.4
    Hi,
    In my ADF application I have created a web service proxy with Jdev wizard.
    I have created a method in order to test it and it works ok.
    Now, I need to reuse this proxy (the package) in other java applications also in Jdev but working with struts (I don't thnk this is important but....)
    I have created a deployment profile only for the ws proxy package and generated a jar file.
    This jar file has been declared in the second application and try to execute the same method that worked in the first application.
    Just in the first sentence:
    UtilGestionDocumental utilGestionGrupos = new UtilGestionDocumental();
    we are having an "unauthorized error". No time to declare any username nor password that are send in later instructions.
    The first part of the call to the WS that we are using is this:
    UtilGestionDocumental utilGestionGrupos = new UtilGestionDocumental(); <- Here it throws the error
    SecurityPoliciesFeature securityFeatures =
    new SecurityPoliciesFeature(new String[] {
    "oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy" });
    UtilGestionDocumentalPortType entidadDocPortType =
    utilGestionGrupos.getUtilGestionDocumentalSOAP12Port(/*securityFeatures*/);
    ((BindingProvider)entidadDocPortType).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY,"Username");
    ((BindingProvider)entidadDocPortType).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY,"Password");
    ((BindingProvider)entidadDocPortType).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider."EndPoint....." );
    I think I'm not using the correct system to create a jar for the WS, am I ?
    someone can help me with this ?

    Does any expert can help in deploying a web service proxy as a jar file ?

    Thanks

    Hi,
    I created a client class with jdev10134 and put class in my jdev11g project.
    I got following error when run client class
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Jaxrpc 1.1 method is not supported.
         at weblogic.webservice.core.rpc.ServiceFactoryImpl.loadService(ServiceFactoryImpl.java:65)
    I found this thread.
    "Jaxrpc 1.1 method not supported" when running jdev ws-proxy on weblogic
    I checked WLS10.3 release note, it seems supported.
    Please could someone help me?
    Thanks
