J2SE Plugin on OEL

Hi all
I've installed R12.1.1 on OEL 5u4, and it's all working correctly.
However, I can't work out what's required to launch the professional forms on Linux. I need to install the J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_07.
Can anyone help out with what's needed?
Thanks

Output below:
[oracle@alard12 ~]$ grep sun_plugin_ver $CONTEXT_FILE
<sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.6.0_07</sun_plugin_ver>
I installed jre-6u7-linux-i586-rpm.bin as follows:
# mkdir /usr/java
# cd /usr/java
# sh jre-6u7-linux-i586-rpm.bin
This competed successfully. I then created the soft link as follows:
cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
ln -s /usr/java/jre1.6.0_07/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

How to install a browser plug-in really has nothing to do with Oracle Forms or even EBusiness. Information on how to install the plug-in is available in the JRE documentation:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_install.xml
You can also post questions about installing a JRE on Linux in the Java (JRE) forum:

  • Changing oaj2se.exe binary file for form operations

    Hi,
When you open the form service in R12.1.3, you encounter a page with the following message.
In order to access this application, you must install the J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_07. To install this plugin, click here to download the oaj2se.exe executable. Once the download is complete, double-click the oaj2se.exe file to install the plugin. You will be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete.
If you need the newer version - let's say 1.6.0.10 - than 1.6.0.07. Then, going through click here will give still the old binary file.
For this kind of cases, it would be good if the binary file just gives the latest one when clicked to download j2se plugin.
    So, here the questions come.
    Q1.
Is it safe to replace the old binary file with the latest jre file from Oracle site?
    Q2.
How can this be done? I mean, where is the location and is it ok just to replace the binary file?
Does anyone have any idea on this?
    Thanks,

have you applied this? Please can you update?
Our environment: 11.5.10.2 (9.2.0.7)running on HP-UX PARISC. We are using Jinitiator. We are not yet migrated to J2SE Plugin.
So, since the sercurity patch is for JRE, is that still required for our environment?

  • Oracle-forms don't open

    Hi guys,
I am joining on internship a company that's using Oracle EBS, and before allowing me to work on the real thing, they had me experiment with this one: http://r12vis.infosemantics.net/  which is based on Oracle EBS R12. I am facing the following error message whenever i try launch any form-based application, It says:
"In order to access this application, you must install the J2SE Plugin version 1.7.0_75. To install this plugin, click here to download the oaj2se.exe executable. Once the download is complete, double-click the oaj2se.exe file to install the plugin. You will be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete." I was running WIN8.1 X64 with Java 1.8 installed when i encountered this error. reasoning that my version of JRE is higher hence should be able to run older stuff  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no vail. Then i installed the version cited above and it didn't work. Googling around cited reasons for path and other installations problems, but i have no such an issue. i asked my peers and it turns out even with that even with their R12.1.3 they are facing the same problem with their hundreds of PCs running all sorts of windows from 7 to 8 and 8.1 with different architectures x86 and x64 and all of them are facing the same problem!!!
to recap, here's the problems in few points:
    1) It does not point me to the latest JRE release, which is java 1.8u31.
    2) I tried installing the version cited above, but that DID NOT SOLVE the problem!!!! Neither did any later version.
    3) Googling around i arrived at this link : https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/jre_8_ebs which clearly states that the original jre1.8 is compatible with R12 and should've run yet that didn't happen.
    4) After telling my supervisor he gave me a setup for JRE 1.6u31 which worked for me, but i have no idea why!!!
    5) JRE 1.6 u31 is outdated by now, and is blocked by IE 11 due to some active x stuff, so it's not a solution to the problem? Coud be there a problem with the server shown in this figure?
Are there any configuration files or something that must be tampered with? i am hoping for a solution.
Please provide me with your valuable insights.
    Thanks in advance

Sorry for the trouble, but can you upload the documents? They keep asking for a support Identifier, probably something given only to those who are using the real system not a testing one like the one i am using. Your help will be most appreciated

  • EBS12.1.3 on AIX7.1: Forms hanging every 5 mins

    Hi,
we are finalizing our EBS R12.1.3 installation on AIX7.1.
In the installation tests, we noticed that forms are freezing periodically after 5-10 minutes of use. We are able to continue after we close forms and open again. But then, the same problem occurs.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
    BR,
    TH

    Hi Helios,
thanks for the reply. My answers below.
Did you have any issues during the installation?
No, I did not encounter any issues during the installation.
+Have you completed all the steps in (Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for IBM AIX on Power Systems (64-bit) [ID 761569.1])?+
    I believe yes.
Is the issue with all clients/browsers?
The problem occurs only with Firefox 11 in a specific laptop. In the same laptop, there are multiple JRE installations, and when using IE8, Java Console is not opening at all when trying to open forms. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem in other workstations.
+Do you meet all the minimum requirements of the browsers as per (Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 389422.1])?+
It seems that Firefox 11 is not yet certified so no.
Please check the application.log file as well as the database log files for any errors.
I could not find anything from these logs.
Also, check if you have any errors in the JRE console window.
Do you mean "Oracle Applications R12" browser window which opens when launching forms? The forms are opening, and in this window, there is the following text:
"In order to access this application, you must install the J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_07. To install this plugin, click here to download the oaj2se.exe executable. Once the download is complete, double-click the oaj2se.exe file to install the plugin. You will be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete."
