JApplet not found in IE

Here's the problem, I have a home http server my computer and I can load the applets by a test loop through the internet back to my computer, but when I go to another computer on the network and try the same thing, except no loop back, I get an error in IE stating "class IOTest not found" you can check it out at http://www.hcravers.tk
thanks.

Never mind, I found the problem. I've tested the applets from an external computer on the internet and the applets were view fine and worked like a charm. But the problem still reside back on the network where one computer connects to my computer from the network but through the internet IP address, and since both computers have the same ip address I believe it is trying to find the applet.class files on that computer instead of my computer.

    You can force Internet Explorer to use the Sun Java Plugin by changing this key into windows registry:
    Registry>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>JavaSoft>Java Plug-in>1.4.1_02>UseJava2Iexplorer
    Modify the value REG_DWORD from 0x00000000 (0) to 0x00000001 (1). This way you force IE to use your installed Sun Java Virtual Machine (with Swing support) instead the old Microsoft Virtual Machine.

  • I'm crazy!Applet and JNA Error:Library 'jnidispatch' was not found!

    Hi AndrewThompson64:
    Did you mean the JNA project? Or are you refering to JNI, or ..something else?Yes, I mean is that I wanna jna.jar to replace JNI to code with Applet. I want Applet can run native library(.dll files).
    That reads like so much nonsense to me.Sorry fo that.
    Was there any 'caused by' part that you trimmed? I expected to see something to do with 'Security' or 'AccessControl'.Sorry, I can't saw any 'cause by' subsentence there. This message is just gain from Applet Console.(Is there any method to gain more message?)
    About 'Security' and 'AccessControl' I just modify my java.policy file to allpermission. Subsequently, I signed all jar files.
    For now I have 3 jar files(all have been signed ):
    --example.jar :  for this little program.(code include applet and application entry)
    --jna.jar
    --win32-x86.jar : include kernel32.dll and jnidispatch.dll for win32 and x86.
    and 2 JNLP files:
    --JNAApplet.jnlp the entry is JNAApplet.class (this jnlp does not work)
    --JNAApp.jnlp     the entry is JNAApp.class  (this jnlp works)
    And for now new error message show like this:
    Exception in thread "thread applet-JNAApplet-1" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Library 'Kernel32' was not found by class loader sun.plugin2.applet.JNLP2ClassLoader@4aeb52

    Did you mean invoke?
    Revoke: To annul by withdrawing.
    Invoke: To call on.Yes, you got it. Thank you.
    The JNLP file is invalid. ..I was about to put my 'standard' text here, but I'm sick of saying it. Search the forum for my posts - 50% of them, at least, mention validation and how to go about it.
    Also, the applet-desc requires a documentbase.Thank you, I really think I have some invalid section. But I can't find it, and you said 'Search the forum for my posts - 50% of them...' , I can read the JNLP structure on site of sun and I can to read you post too(I'm doing like this).*I only want to know about how to load "native lib like *.dll" properly*.
    What 'officer site'?I mean jna project site. Sorry for ambiguity.
    Please fix that sticky '!' key. One '!' indicates astonishment, while two or more typically indicates a bozo. Thanks for your advice. Because I tried to find solution do my best lasting two days. I got nothing. I'm sadness.

  • Class not found error for applet.

    This is probally a really simple mistake but I've tried everything and can't find it.
    My applet works fine with applet viewer - I'm running it from JBuilder. But when I open my html file in the browser it gives me a 'Class not found' error. I've tried running other applets (my own and demos on this site) and they work fine.This is the applet tag code:
    <applet code = "Rotary.class" width = "650" height = "580" align = "top">
    <!-- coordinates of sectors -->
    <param name = "sector0" value ="234,215,244,207,154,43,125,63">
    </applet>
    The class file is in the same directory as the HTML file. Do I need to specify the codebase? I tried that too - giving it the full pathname of the class.
    In the Java console it said that it couldn't find "C:Project\Rotary\javax\swing\japplet"
    I don't think it could have anything to do with the fact that I'm using swing because the other applets I used used swing.
    Please help - I'm really running out of ideas here!

    You have a similar problem like I had.
    You seem to have a too old JAVA environment for the browser - I had a too new environment.
    For all who are experiencing the same problem!
    Problem:
    You're compiling your applets with a quiet modern compiler (i.e. Netbeans Version 3.5.1)
    You are able to compile your applets without any problems but if you try your applets in "real life", the browsers can't interpret your applets [class not found]. (I tested Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.7)
    So you need a plugin for the new JAVA environment because the JAVA environment of the browser is older than that which the applet needs.
    Well, you have the choice to demand to every user of your applet to download the new Java Runtime Environment, but then don't wonder why nobody visits your site!
    But, don't worry: I figuered out another solution, that Netbeans (www.netbeans.org) allows to compile in different JAVA versions.
    Solution:
    What you have to do is:
    - Install a previous version of JDK (i.e. JDK 1.3 - I would suggest, lower versions don't work with Netbeans 3.5.1 and JDK 1.3 is enough for IE 6.0 and NN 4.7, which I tested)
    - Go into the "bin"-directory of Netbeans (i.e. c:/netbeans3.5.1/bin)
    - Open the file "ide.cfg" (with notepad or any other texteditor)
    - You see a line like: jdkhome "C:\java\j2sdk1.4.2" -J-Xmx96m -J-Xss1024k -J-Xms24m -J-Xverify:none
    - Change the path to your other JDK you wish, like: jdkhome "C:\java\jdk1.3" -J-Xmx96m -J-Xss1024k -J-Xms24m -J-Xverify:none
    - That's it, you can compile your applets in a previous version of JAVA so that "older" browser user don't have to install a plugin for the new JAVA environment.
    Have fun!
    If you have any questions I would be pleased to help you.
    If this tip helped you already I would be pleased if you would send me a quick email with your experience.

  • Class Not Found Error Doesn't Make Sense

    Possible answer to CNF Exception problems.
    I have written a simple slide show applet that displays a sequence of jpgs. In order to make it work for the majority of people and older systems I used the AWT Applet rather than the JApplet framework.
    I compiled it using the latest JDK 1.4.1, ran it using applet viewer and locally inside my web browser (IE 6.0) and it all worked fine.
    I uploaded it to a web-server, tested it and received a Class Not Found exception. After a few hours of checking, rechecking (code= codebase= etc. etc.) I decided to use an older version of the JDK to compile the applet (since the code was compatible). The oldest I could find was 1.1.8, so I compiled, uploaded and it works on every computer I've tried???
    What is the problem here?? Windows 98, the 1.4.1 JDK, IE 6.0?? Has anyone had similar problems before? Why did it work locally but not online?

    Hi.
    Instead of using the old JDK you can also compile your code for a specific version with
    javac -target 1.1 MyApp.javaCheers,

  • Javax packages not found for J2SDK 1.5.0

    Hi,
    I am very new to Java SDK. I just installed J2SDK 1.5.0 beta 2 and installed it on my RedHat 9.0 box with root permission at /usr/local/(java-home)/
    I can compile simple applications which do not import extension packages. However, when I try to compile an application importing javax.swing.* , I get the below error message:
    Craps.java:9: Can't find default package `javax.swing'. Check the CLASSPATH environment variable and the access to the archives
    Craps.java:11: Superclass `JApplet' of class `Craps' not found.
    public class Craps extends JApplet implements ActionListener {
    The code of this application is correct, coz I can compile and execute it in Windows.
    Can anybody help me with this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joni,
    Thank you for the reply!
    I've solved the problem with your inspiration of the ClASSPATH. This is for the reference of those who may encounter the same problem as me.
    I installed Redhat 9.0 with default settings and those bundled packages (could be normal to many Linux newbies like me :) There is a default java compiler installed, I guess, and it's bundled with gcc. So when I tried to compile my .java files, the javac comand from j2sdk was not involked. Instead, it's the default-installed java compiler that correspended to my command. I guess this is why no matter what I changed in the .bash_profile in my home directory, the j2sdk command javac had not executed.
    After I uninstalled this one, and add j2sdk/bin into my CLASSPATH, everything works fine now.
    Btw, I found out this problem by simply typing "javac" in the terminal and read the help suggestions that followed.

    You are passing a String. A String is not an instanceof the URL class. Look at the java.net.URL class. Dear BBrita,
    I looked at the URL class in the Java API and did not find anything that told me how to pass the URL
    "c:/Program Files/Cakewalk/Cakewalk Pro Audio 9/seashore.wrk"
    which is stored on my hard drive.
    Thank you in advance

  • Class not found. Or: THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS APPLETS

    Okay, the problem Im having seems to be somewhat widespread judging from the forum achieves, but I wasnt able to find any answers that worked for me. So forgive me if Im treading old ground, but asking explicitly is my one last attempt to learn whats going on.
    The problem is the load: class <someclass.class> not found gray screen whenever I try to view an applet. Now, looking around online, there are a few applets that Ive been able to access, and many I havent; Im not certain what causes some to work fine and others to gray screen, but there doesnt seem to be a pattern to it other than the fact that if I can or cant view one applet at a site, the same is generally true for all the other applets there as well.
    Now, as for local applets on my computer, I cant view any of them. Not examples that come with the SDK, none that Ive compiled myself, and none that Ive downloaded. Needless to say, in my exasperation Ive run through every possible permutation of html code for class and classpath and so on trying to modify code into working, but to no avail.
    Now, in the appletviewer, and in an IDE called RealJ, I can run applets just fine. Its just those embedded in web pages that seem to give me trouble.
    Ive uninstalled and reinstalled j2sdk 1.4.1. Im running IE 6.0. Windows 98SE. In my Internet options, I have under Java (Sun) the Use Java 2 v1.4.1 for applet box checked, and under Java VM the Java console enabled and JIT Compiler boxes checked, though I have also gone through every permutation possible here, again, to no avail.
    Any idea what I can change so that I can start running applets with ease?
    Thanks in advance, I desperately appreciate whatever suggestions you can give.
    Travis

    gray screen whenever I try to view an applet.
    Now, looking around online, there are a few applets
    that Ive been able to access, and many I havent; Basically it is partly your browser and partly the version of the jdk /sdk that you are viewing. Generally, IE does not support swing ie JApplet, JButton, JTextArea etc... which is a shame cos it has some pretty neat features - I particularly like the flexibility with textfields and textAreas - and my favourite: imageIcon, allows you to have the sexiest looking buttons in the known universe. For reasons like this, people who like to write Applets like to use swing ... and people who like Sun don't like windoze and IE and the like (and they definitely hate each other). So, if you change your browser to Netscape or Opera - you will see swinging applets galore.
    Shame really on a practical level, as the last survey I saw gave IE a 85 - 90 % share of the browser market. A bigger shame, when it seems to be deliberate that m-$oft do not include the latest JVM in their browser, yet they have the latest Flash plug-in. Both are in fact a good idea.
    Any idea what I can change so that I can start running
    applets with ease? Don't use swing and get a copy of something like jdk1.1.5 or even 1.1.2, if it compiles OK with this then it should be OK, keep it simple - as applets download on the client-side and can be unreliable and erratic so try and avoid images. Generally though Applets are a little bit out of vogue at the moment.

  • Item cost not found for one or more items - Inventory Posting

    Good Day Mentors,
    My user has encountered an error during Inventory Posting and its "Item cost not found for one or more items".
    The specific Message ID from SAP's System Message Log is 10001287.
    I found a similar post which addresses this error here.
    But unfortunately it did not help me solve my user's problem.
    I already checked if the items had a defined "Item Cost" in the Item Master Data Inventory Tab, and they all have "Item Cost" defined.
    I'm not sure if this will help, but below is the Inventory Audit Report of one of the items that is throwing the "Item cost not found" error.
    I am not a business consultant neither am I literate in accounting, so thanks for the patience.
    SAP Version: 9.0 PL5
    Valuation Method: Moving Average
    Thanks in advance!
    Sean

    Hi Augusto and Raviraj,
    I've already verified in our production database the points you made:
    - Is the "Manage Item cost per warehouse" selected in the Basic Initialization Screen?
    YES
    - Is the "Manage Inventory by Warehouse" ticked/checked in the "Inventory Data" tab of the "Item Master Data" screen?
    YES
    * I apologize for not have been able to give this information upfront.
    Anyway, the database only has one warehouse at the moment.
    I've checked the items, like the item in the screen shot above, and it does have an item cost.
    Below is the screenshot of the sample item from my original post,
    Thanks in advance!

    Can you start QuickTime on your computer?
    You'll probably have to search for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it to remove QuickTime Player and iTunes. Then download and install the iTunes again.

  • I was updating Firefox from version 6 to version 7, after updating I tried to open Firefox and the message I got is this: This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found. How can I fix this?

    I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?

    Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

  • JBO:33001 bc4j.xcfg file not found in class path

    Hi,
    I am yet another victim of the age-old error JBO:33001 bc4j.xcfg file not found in class path, When i have my BC4JApp.jar in Tomcat Web-inf/lib directory. All the other jar files and class files in my webserver-application web-inf classes and lib directory works.
    But Tomcat server is not able to read this bc4j.xcfg file. I can see in my jar file that this bc4j.xcfg exists and in the specified package directory. still the problem persists. My BC4JApp.jar is perfectly working when i use JDeveloper. but not when i use tomcat4.0 and call a JSP using BC4JApp.jar from browser (My environment is Jdeveloper3.2, Tomcat4.0+IIS in middle tier and oracle 8i as DB, everything on windows2k)
    I have gone through almost all the threads possible that relates to this error in this form. None of them have a answer except to say "put the file in classpath". and last reply is "will fix in jDeveloper 9i. So what happens to us who are working in Jdeveloper 3.2?
    1. I have this file in my jar file.
    2. I also tried creating a seperate directory manually, with the same name as my package under web-inf/classes, web-inf/lib , just under web-inf directory and atlast under approot directory also. I tried having my package directory containing bc4j.xcfg in these folders one at a time and also tried having this directory in all these folders at the same time.
    Still no solution.
    Itz frustrating that neither proper documentation nor a right url page nor i am aware of available addressing this. page links given in above threads only gives me the wonderful page of ie's "Page cannot be displayed".
    Is there a answer to this error and my problem. If this doesn't work, then i have to all the way develop from scratch creating my jsp using JDBC calls and Stored packages etc.
    I don't want to give up on this Jdeveloper at this final moment because if this bc4j.xcfg file is found, my application will work perfectly. on these final moments, if this doesn't work, i am frightened to imagine to develop my application in standard way. Atlast, if thatz the option left,we have to do that bcos our production date is close by.
    Please can some one in this forum or Jdeveloper help me to solve this problem. I am desperate and very urgent.
    Waiting for a reply from Jdev team very much...
    ( I just posted in the other thread which is pretty old, dated backto May 2001, which was relevant to this error. Just to make sure it is noticed, I am posting it seperately too)
    Thanks
    Hari(2/3/02)

    Hi All,
    For those who are following this thread, I got a solution for this error with the help of Jdev Team.
    This solution may work, if you have deployed your application in Tomcat4.0.1. This is the environment in which I work and tested.
    As you may be aware, Tomcat ignores value in CLASSPATH variable.
    To see any files that are existing or newly deployed, it has it own way of detecting it.
    Addition information on Tomcat working, you can follow this link,
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.0-doc/index.html
    Coming to point, Tomcat has got five classloaders and each classloader invoked, looks in their related directories for files in following order.
    1. /WEB-INF/classes of your web-application
    2. /WEB-INF/lib/*.jar of your web application
    3. BootStrap classes of your JVM (Tomcat's $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext)
    4. System class loader classes($CATALINA_HOME/bin/bootstrap.jar,CATALINA_HOME/lib/tools.jar)
    5. $CATALINA_HOME/common/classes
    6. $CATALINA_HOME/common/lib/*.jar
    7. $CATALINA_HOME//classes
    8. $CATALINA_HOME/lib/*.jar
    So All your individual application related files should be deployed in your application's WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib directory accordingly.
    If your application files are unpacked, they should be deployed or copied under WEB-INF/classes directory
    if the files are within a jar, they should be under WEB-INF/lib directory.
    If your Jar-files contains bc4j components, then those jar files should be deployed under WEB-INF/lib directory. Also,do the next step to copy all relavant BC4J runtime libraries under lib directory.
    IMPORTANT: Please remember to copy and paste all the required BC4j runtime libraries in the Same WEB-INF/lib directory along with your application jar files. This is the real reason which can solve this JBO:33001 to disappear. It worked for me.
    To configure your directory for tag-lib uri's, use web.xml to set the taglib-uri attribute.
    Put your web.xml and DataTags.tld in the WEB-INF directory.
    Your simple web.xml may look like as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
    <web-app>
         <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>
                   /webapp/DataTags.tld
              </taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>
                   /WEB-INF/DataTags.tld
              </taglib-location>
         </taglib>
    </web-app>
    You may then modify this web.xml to suit further requirements of your application.
    Remember to stop and restart the Tomcat Server (service) by using shutdown and startup scripts after updating any jar files/class files/ JSP or source files deployed in Tomcat.
    Sometimes, only this helps even though your context's reloadable attribute is set to true in Tomcat Server's server.xml file.
    Hope this above information helps you to solve this error in Tomcat environment. My Sincere thanks once again to Juan and Jdev team for their help and efforts to solve this problem.
    Thanks

    I get the following error, but don't know why it can't find the file. Is there anything in this script that would call "\" instead of "/"? Is there any line of code that will switch a wayward "\" back?
    01-09-24 09:37:02 - path="" :jsp: init
    2001-09-24 09:43:42 - path="" :LoginServlet: init
    2001-09-24 09:44:15 - path="" :CourseServlet: init
    2001-09-24 09:46:48 - path="" :LessonServlet: init
    2001-09-24 09:46:54 - path="" :Error: /usr/local/apache/sites/tesco.spinweb.net/htdocs/cmi/courses\Food Service/Intro/AU00.html (No such file or directory)
    The script is below. Thanks for any help anyone can provide me.
