JAR conflicts

I have a web application in Tomcat, and in the classpath of Tomcat there are already many jar files (spring, struts, commons-logging, mail, etc). In this web application I want to install a servlet that uses a new version of struts, but the problem is that there is already another servlet that should continue using an old version of struts. How can I handle with this situation?

you duplicate two servlets in several web apps? violates " don't repeat yourself"
No. I mistyped. I meant two servlets in the same web app (in the singular, not plural)
But I notice that Tomcat has a version of commons-collections-3.1.jar in its common/lib directory, and spring also uses a commons-collections. What if spring uses a different version of this jar that conflicts with the one in Tomcat?that's what osgi solvesActually, I read the Tomcat documentation, and I see that such a conflict is impossible, although there are another kinds of jar conflicts, described in that documentation. But this specific conflict (spring dependency jars with tomcat jars) is not possible. Thank God!

  • Xmlparserv2.jar conflicts with xmlparserv2-904.jar

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to use the BI Publisher APIs within a Java Embedding activity. These APIs uses the xmlparserv2-904.jar version of the library. But the oracle.xml shared library that the OC4J instance contains, uses the xmlparserv2.jar which is not compatible with the BI Publisher APIs. Is there a way i can tell a BPEL process to use the version of the library that I deploy with my projet instead of using those from the OC4J instance shared libraries??
    Any help is welcome!!

    Hi Nivas,
I think that the problem you are seeing has something to do with the
placement of jaas.jar in your classpath
On WebLogic server, put jaas.jar in the classpath after weblogic.jar.
I would bet that you have it placed before weblogic.jar right now.
I don't think the exception that you're seeing right now has anything
to do with your weblogic.policy file right now, so I think it is
safe to not worry about it right now.

  • Need help, oracle xml db jar conflicts with sup app server v9

I am trying to create a web service on sun app v9 that will work with calls to oracle xml db on oracle 10gr2. I have successfully created a web service on other application servers (weblogic and websphere) but sun was the app server of choice. The oracle jar xmlparserv2.jar is causing problems with the sun server as it seems to have bundled some java classes from the javax.xml.parsers, javax\xml\transform (and even from dom, sax and streams sub folders) packages.
If I put the oracle jar in my war the error I get in the log file when accessing my webservice tester is:
    [#|2007-08-13T08:37:48.691-0400|INFO|sun-appserver-pe9.0|javax.enterprise.system.stream.out|_ThreadID=15;_ThreadName=httpWorkerThread-8080-0;|error: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd<Line 31, Column 3>: XML-20100: (Fatal Error) Expected '>'.

    error: Expected '>'.
    line ? of http://ann-griffithlap.jsc-eses.com:8080/TestWS/TestWSService?WSDL#types?schema1|#]
And the UI error from the tester call is:
javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Service Class not generated as expected at com.sun.enterprise.webservice.monitoring.WebServiceTesterServlet.initializePort(WebServiceTesterServlet.java:546) at com.sun.enterprise.webservice.monitoring.WebServiceTesterServlet.doGet(WebServiceTesterServlet.java:158) at com.sun.enterprise.webservice.monitoring.WebServiceTesterServlet.invoke(WebServiceTesterServlet.java:104) at
I had attempted to move the xmlparserv2.jar elsewhere in the classpath for classloading and one error I got while trying different spots was:
[#|2007-07-16T14:16:57.982-0400|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe9.0|javax.enterprise.system.tools.deployment|_ThreadID=10;_ThreadName=main;_RequestID=c9ffb261-2b6d-4dd2-bd8f-362e6b2af1a0;|INFO: JAXP SAXParser property not recognized: http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage|#]

which gets repeated for each deployment and then the server would not start up.
Is there any suggestions of where I can put the oracle jar to get sun to still start up as well as the jar to be available for use by the classes in my war that also contains the webservice that will call my underlying class? I have not found a way to eliminate the oracle jar if I want to do an xquery against oracle xml db.
    Thanks,
    D.Griffith

  • JAR conflicts in Oracle SQL Developer Extension

    Hi,
I am developing a extension for Oracle SQL Developer. I want to use JavaFX to show a WebView inside SQLDeveloper, so I imported such library.
When I try to use such library, the program crashes with an error (NoSuchMethodError) pointing to the constructor of JSObject. The problem is that oracle.help_5.0 (bundled with sql developer) and JavaFX (in the future is going to be bundled in jre) defines the same class (netscape.javascript.JSObject) with different implementations.
My question is that if it is possible to define/modify the ClassLoader to serve the JSObject provided by JavaFX library to the JavaFX library.
    Thank you in advance!

    Thats odd.
Do you see any exceptions in console ? (to see the console launch sqldeveloper.exe in ../sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin dir.)

  • OES Client causes XML Parser Issue with Spring 3 Framework WAR

    Dear All,
OES Client has been installed in the linux OS and configured JAVA SM in it. Have executed the sample webpage in the tomcat server which contains the 'PepResponse' of getting the authorization value (TRUE / FALSE) and it works fine.
    Code snippet:-
    PepResponse result = PepRequestFactoryImpl.getPepRequestFactory().newPepRequest(user, action, resourceString, null).decide();
    out.println("Result: "+ result.allowed());
It returns the proper value if I mention the oes-client.jar classpath reference in the tomcat classpath settings, but at the same time the existing spring framework WAR file is not deployed in the tomcat. The same WAR file is deploying properly if I remove the classpath reference of oes-client.jar from the tomcat configuration.
The issue causes because of xmlparser2.jar(oracle.xdk11.1.1.1) in the oes client.
Have tried all the alternate approaches and failed to execute both the code together.
Note:- One of the approach, I have tried to copy xcersImpl.jar and xml-apis.jar in the WEB-INF/lib within the war file and also executed oes authorization sample web page simultaneously with referred oes-client.jar classpath reference. The WAR file is started deploy properly and OES Authorization sample webpage has thrown 'Null Pointer Exception'.
Anyone, please suggest how to resolve the JAR conflict issue between the OES Client and Spring Framework WAR.

  • Getting "Non supported character set: oracle-character-set-178" exception

    Hi,
I am using Struts, spring, hibernate and database oracle 9i.
There are 2 modules developed by 2 units, both uses different versions of Spring and hibernate. As well one uses stored procedures and one uses prepared statements.
I am integrating both units together.
    Unit A :-
    ojdbc14.jar,hibernate3.jar and nls_charset12.jar
    Unit B:
hibernate2.jar,ojdbc14_g-9.2.0.5.jar (means 9.2.0.5 version) or patch which has solutions for prepared statement bug in ojdbc14.jar , nls_charset12.jar
So my unit B works fine if i used latest version jars and nls_charset12.jar, but unit A fails in (at oracle.jdbc.oracore.OracleTypeCHAR.toDatum).
I placed nls_charset12.zip also but still same error. Can you please tell me whether there is any jar conflict or any of the spring/hibernate jar contains implementation which is clashing.
    Thanks and Regds.
    Sudarshan Wad

    Sudarshan,
Perhaps you need to use "orai18n.jar" instead of "nls_charset12.jar"? The Oracle JDBC FAQ has more details.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Without absolute path, SAXParser1.4   does not find schemLocation!!!!!

    Hello
I am validating soap messages according to xsd files with the SAXParser, Java 1.4.
My xsds include references to other xsd files as following sample shows:
    <xs:include schemaLocation="C:/temp/shiphome.xsd"/>
The problem is, how to say the parser where the including files are without working with absolute path to the including xsds!!!?
The code finds the file as follow:
    factory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource", new File(schemaSource));
    Help!!
    Thanks

    Hi,
well solution seems to be the following (from tomcat-users@...):
j2ee.jar conflicts with some libraries from the tomcat-engine itsself.
So my j2ee.jar 1.4 beta is ignored by the tomcat engine.
I cannot place it in the general lib path, because i do not administrate the box myself.
Solution for me is now to use the separate mail API (http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/) and javabeans (http://java.sun.com/products/javabeans/glasgow/).
Hope that others find this helpfull, too.
Do i get a refund for my J2EE book in my bookshelf, that i cannot use ?

If you want help with code you have to POST THE CODE.
Why do you say 'it is expecting . . .' in ojdbc14.jar'?
Why do you say there is a 'JAR conflict' issue?
The JDBC Developer Guide has example code for working with XML data.
    https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/JJDBC/jdbcvers.htm
    Example
    Example 3-1 Accessing SQLXML Data
The following example shows how to create an instance of XML from a String, write the XML data into the Database, and then retrieve the XML data from the Database.

unjaring the j2ee.jar shows, that the Adress.class is inside
the jar file. Also the tomcat server log file shows, that it found
and registered the j2ee.jar file in the lib directory.
    What is wrong ??
    can somebody help me ?
I found a similar topic with earlier versions of j2ee, that
suggested putting it into the general tomcat lib folder, but
since i'm not the adminstrator of this box i hardly can rely
on that. (Only if this is the only solution and it works...)
    Jens

    Hi,
well solution seems to be the following (from tomcat-users@...):
j2ee.jar conflicts with some libraries from the tomcat-engine itsself.

  • I depolyed a webapp in oim server problem is oim admin console is not opend

    hi
i have deployed a webapplication in oim server(jboss) the application is developed using struts. the application is deployed successfully.after server starting the oim admin console is not opend it gives following error .I am using oim 9101 with jboss server
    [ServletException in:/layouts/tjspClassicLayout.jsp] java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.struts.util.RequestUtils.message(Ljavax/servlet/jsp/PageContext;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/String;
    can any one help me.
    Thanks.

First of all you remove your war or ear file.
Don't take jar from outside. Take the all jar from OIM machine, used by xlWebApp. You don't need to download any extra jar if it is simple web application based on struts.
Rebuild with your war or ear with new jar. Than just try it.
Hope this is clear case of jar confliction.

  • How to write a class loader to solve the class confliction in rt.jar?

    Hello guys:
The weblogic.jar has the javax.management.*, it is conflict with rt.jar's
I want to use JMX 1.0 to communicate with weblogic 8.1. The client should be run in the Java 1.5
    It throw
    java.io.InvalidClassException: javax.management.ObjectName; local class incompatible:
stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -5467795090068647408, local class serialVersionUID = 1081892073854801359

stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -5467795090068647408, local class serialVersionUID = 1081892073854801359I know the reason is java 1.5 has JMX 1.2 in it.
So how can I program a class loader to load the weblogic.jar classes in? I have tried a lot of code, but failed.
    Is there any sample here?
I want to use the JMX 1.0 in weblogic.jar at jdk1.5 run time

  • Conflict of weblogic with jaas.jar

    Hi there,
I am using weblogic6.0+sp1 for JAAS simple and SSL authentication. Sun's
    implementation class com.sun.security.auth.login.ConfigFile in jaas.jar
is conflict with the Config class I implemented that extends
Configuration to parse the login policy file and return the array of
AppConfigurationEntry. If this jaas.jar gets picked up before
weblogic.jar (For some jdk version, this jar is put under the jdk's
lib/ext directory) the sun's implementation will be picked up instead of
mine and this will results in failure. I am wandering if this is a bug
    or not?
    Thanks,
    Cathy

This has nothing to do with the class name, since both my implementation and
sun's are subclass of Configuration class. Runtime, it will pick up sun's if
jaas.jar is put in front of weblogic.jar.
    Hellen Andersen wrote:
An aside related question: isn't jaas.jar always installed in lib/ext?
Otherwise, couldn't you rename your ConfigFile class so it doesn't match
