JAR file updating project config file error. Help needed!

Hi all,
I got a problem when I want to use an existed jar file. There is a method called setConfig which can read and update the properties inside a property file which will be located inside the deployed jar file. But when the other project want to use this jar file. It causes the following error:
Property 'configfile' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI is not hierarchical
The code might cause this error is like:
String temp = configfile.substring(CLASSPATH_IND.length()).trim();
URL url = BaseConfigureFactory.class.getClassLoader().getResource(temp);
try {
tempcfg = (new File(url.toURI())).getAbsolutePath();
} catch(URISyntaxException use) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException(use);
It seems like the url is wrong so that the program can not find the configfile. Does anyone give some suggestions? Thanks

I have all of e.printStackTrack( ) in my try - catch block. But i also think the blank screen appears because the class can not find my resources. Maybe it's my fault, because i create by hand a folder name "res" in project folder, then put all my resource in this folder. And in Eclipse when i try to get these resource, i wrote something like this:
     Image robot1N, robot1E, robot1S, robot1W;
     private void initResources() {
          try {
               String sb = "car1";
               robot1N = ImageIO.read(new File("res\\img\\unit\\" + sb +"_N.png"));
               robot1E = ImageIO.read(new File("res\\img\\unit\\" + sb +"_E.png"));
               robot1S = ImageIO.read(new File("res\\img\\unit\\" + sb +"_S.png"));
               robot1W = ImageIO.read(new File("res\\img\\unit\\" + sb +"_W.png"));
          catch(Exception e) {
               e.printStackTrace();
     }Maybe the string of path to resource is right in Eclipse but wrong in Window?

  • BiPub 10.1.3.4 upgrade:What jar files do I need to include in a chart proj?

    JDev 10.1.3.4
    BIPub 10.1.3.4 Build 129 desktop
    I have a series of reports with graphs which work by calling the xdo engine from a JDev designed web app. Worked fine with the previous version 562.
    I just upgraded the desktop tool and rebuilt an old graph. The tables work, but the graphs/charts do not. I assume it is a jar / lib compatibility issue.
    What jar files do I need to include in the project? What precedence do they need?
    Also, what is the difference between setting a library reference and putting the jar files in the Web INF directory?
    Thanks.
    Steve

    Just wanted to add to this ... I loaded BIPub Server 10.1.3.4 where I extracted the xdocore.jar from to put in my project. The report previews fine in there, both graphs and tables. Also works in Word.
    When I use the following code (which worked fine in previous version) the pdf opens with the table and an empty chart.
    Any ideas??

    Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question. Can you post a bit more about what you are doing and what you are having problems with. Please also include any exception you may get, with the stack trace. Are you saying that your application works in a server but not outside of one?
    Best Regards,

    Regards,

    Hi Shane,
    The problem appears to be an issue where the directory created is called "JavaTask" but the jars are trying to be placed into "JavaTasks".
    Note the "s" appended at the end.
    If you manually create the JavaTasks directory then run the tool, it should work.

    It seems that error is caused because OSB is unable to create temporary jar file in /tmp/alsbTempJars. I looked for path and actually directory alsbTempJars is not present on disk. I had already created that directory in the past so I can't figure why it has been deleted.
    Also I saw some out of disk space error in logs although I checked that it is at least 1Gb free at OSB mount point.
    We've realized of this problem when checking logs after we got an error working with OSB web console.
    To solve this error I had to create alsbTempJars directory and restart the node. Then error stopped and processing continued normaly. I think node activity was interrupted during error as I only see stack traces in log file.
    OSB runs in a Linux machine with user Oracle that is also owner of alsbTempJars directory.
    Hope someone could help us with this.
    Regards,
    Daniel.

    In case /tmp directory is automatically deleted, is it possible to configure a custom directory for alsbTempJars dir in OSB to assure it is never deleted?Add the -Djava.io.tmpdir=newTempDir parameter in the JAVA_PROPERTIES section of the setDomainEnv.sh script. This new location should be outside of the /tmp dir to avoid being cleared by any process.
    I think best soultion would be to have alsbTempJars automatically created whenever /tmp is purged.Doing it on the fly may not be possible however you may anytime raise an enhancement request with support and if prod dev approves it, you may get a fix.

    hello,
    i have built my netbeans project and obtained the hequalifies.jar file . unfortunately when i'm trying to run this jar file from the prompt command I'mgetting the error: unable to access jar file
    here is the command i'm typing:

    anyone has any clue?
    10x!

    ok i'm gonna make it easier on you.
    i gess i found what is the problem but have no idea how to solve it.
    when i obtained the .jar file i also obtained a README.txt file in which it is written the following phrase:
    ** If a library on the projects classpath also has a Class-Path element*
    specified in the manifest,the content of the Class-Path element has to be on the projects runtime path.
    I'M SORRY BUT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS MEANT BY: what is "the projects runtime path"?
    the content of my manifest is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.7.1
    Created-By: 10.0-b23 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Main-Class: hequalifies.ui.HeQualifies
    Class-Path: lib/PlugIn
    X-COMMENT: Main-Class will be added automatically by build
    I'm having problem with lib/plugin.

  • Code ran fine in Eclipse, no output as a Jar file..help!

    I have been working on a piece of code that reads an excel spreadsheet, and writes xml files based on that. (I'm to cheap to buy the numerous software out there)
    The code ran beautifully in Eclipse, and all the right dialog windows and console outputs were present, as well as the final product, about 250 XML files.
    I exported the src to a sealed jar file and ran it.
    I get the first few dialogs that ask info of me, but as soon as it starts the process I get nothing!...
    no exceptions, no errors, no xml...does anyone know what i did wrong?
    Thanks so much for the help.

    we can't help you if we don't know the real probelm you've got.
    use an error logger like log4j http://logging.apache.org/log4j/docs/index.html and report the exception messages.

  • .jar files Please help

    Good day all.
    I am very new to java and admittedly not a very technologically savvy person. However, I play the card game "Magic: The Gathering"? and wish to play online because not any of my friends play. I use a macintosh computer. I researched Magic Online and found you could download a free trial from Wizards of the Coast Website, but it was not for Macs. I continued to research and found something called "WebWizard" a program allowing Mac users to play Magic Online. I downloaded the necessary files and attempted to install them. The two files were named 'ww.jar' and 'cards.jar'. When I opened 'ww.jar' it said "Jar Launcher: The jar file "ww.jar" couldn't be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages". I opened 'cards.jar' and received the same message. Using what little intelligence I have in regard to Java, I opened a search for anything related to it, and found the Java Web Start application. I started up the application and followed the instructions, and was asked to locate the files I wanted to view. I located the first, 'ww.jar', and it opened a page full of what I assume was programming language that had been translated into what the symbols would be on my computer - Total gibberish. I opened the 'ww.jar' once again and the error message did not appear. Instead, the WebWizard window started up!
    However, I needed to get the 'cards.jar' file to work so I could start playing Magic Online. I tried to do the same thing with Java Web Start, but 'cards.jar' failed to open when I located it. I tried opening the file anyways, but nothing happened.
    I have worked for about an hour on trying to get this to work, and have not found any way. Please help me out!

    If you just want to play casually, you can use Magic Workstation. It's free, but it won't let you play with other people on Magic Online, but I think it does have some tournaments of its own (but not for prizes). Another older piece of software that isn't used as much anymore is Apprentice. I don't know if either of these run on a Mac.
    Depending on what version of Mac you're using (and if you have a PowerPC processor), you might be able to use Virtual PC (which costs money) to install a Windows image on your computer, and then virtually run Magic Online (if you obtain the Windows image from a file sharing network instead of purchasing Windows legitimately, this is illegal).
    You could also try using VMware Player (which is free software) to run Windows virtually on your computer and play Magic Online that way. I'm not sure if VMware runs on a Mac though.
    Please don't try all of these things until something works; this will be very time consuming. Give us some more background on where the Jar files came from and, if you can, the error messages printed to the Java console. Also, how much do you know about computers? If you know how to compile source code that will probably increase your options since I believe the source code for VMWare Player is available.

  • Executabe Jar File: Please Help

    Here is the problem. I had no problem before creating and running executable jar files at work or at home. I write the manifest file and then run "jar cmf mymanifestfile jarfile.jar *.class" and everything is fine. Both my work and home computer were set up to execute jar files, so all I had to do was click on the option.
    Now here is the problem. At work, they just installed PKZIP and now that is default for opening jar files. I still want it to execute the jar file though, so last night, when I went home, I right clicked on a jar file I had, clicked on properties, and saw that where it said "Open With" I had javaw. Sooo.. today, I come back to work, right click on a jar file here, and then where it says "Open With" I change it to "javaw" but now when I click on the file, it gives me a Java Virtual Machine error saying it can not find the main file. I am positive that this jar file was created correctly. Furthermore, if I go to the DOS prompt and run it using "java -jar jarFile.jar" it runs just fine (If I do "javaw jarFile.jar", it does NOT work).
    So my question is this: what do I need to set the "Open With" program to for executing jar files. Is there a way to do command line parameters so I can open with "java -jar". Please help.
    Any help would be very appreciated.

    Also, another thing that is weird is this.
    The old jar files that I created at home, run fine at home (execute when I double click them), and if you look at the properties they are run with "javaw", but, the new jar files I create, that I create exactly the same way as the ones I created before, dont work when I double click them.

  • Program not executing in jar file. Help please.

    I went through the tutorial about jars on the sun website and i created a jar file with a hello world program like this:
    "cd E:\Batch
    jar cfm test.jar m.txt test.class
    PAUSE"
    My m.txt contains this text:
    "Main-Class: test.class"
    The jar file is created. No errors.
    Then i try and run the jar with this:
    "cd E:\Batch
    java -jar test.jar
    PAUSE"
    I get "NoClassDefFoundError: test/class"
    All the dos command are run form batch files and everything is in the same directory.
    I've searched around google and this website for answers but i have failed to find anything.
    Does anyone have any suggestions i can try to fix this? I've ran out of ideas.

    Ah thats what the problem was. That was driving me
    mad thanks. So whatever you put in a jar file must be
    in a package or you can't run it.
    Message was edited by:
    JahvahNo. You can also not put it in a package, but when you specify the main-class attribute in the manifest file, be sure that you don't tell it that it is in a package.

  • JRockIt Deleting JAR files - Error loading class

    Hi there,
    Customer is facing a very weird issue. Their application has an application that contains some EJBs and Web applications that, apparently for no reason, it starts to unload classes and delete JAR files and WAR files from the Weblogic's "extract" directory. If I bounce the application, everything starts working fine until a moment where the issues starts again.
    I thought this was any kind of memory issue that was not allowing the JVM to free enough resource for loading the classes again after unloading it. But we gave enough memory for the JVM and it stills happening.
    Thoughts? Any idea that might help us on troubleshooting is very welcome at this time.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Photoshop CS4 "Cannot save due to an end-of-file error" Help

    This problem occurs daily, probably 15-20 times per project. I take on normally 3-4 projects per day, so you can see how annoying this is. Basically when I'm saving, I get a dialogue box that says "Cannot save your file due to an end-of-file error" or something to that extent. I would love to resolve this, this problem is persistent and it's driving me out of my mind I'm saving to a network, if that has any correlation. Thanks in advance
         Chris

    This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
    If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
      Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
         Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
        Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
      If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
    When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.
