Java agent goes unresponsive on solaris 8

Hi all,
Sorry that I am posting here. But this bug has been on me for two weeks.
I have an agent on Solaris. It goes unresponsive after a JNI call. I mean I use JNI in that class, which makes a callback to the Java program. The whole agent goes down when I create a java object in the callback method. This is happenning on some solaris 8 machines.I do see it as patch issue.Couls any one suggest a patch regardig this?
The problem where my agent goes unresponsive is explained below...
I get a sigsegv in realloc. The line of the code that I use contains a call to create a new object like
MyClass a = new MyClass().
The pstack trace is shown as below

Thanks in advance

Now I can answer myself - firt install the 32-bit version then install the 64-bit "overlay".
This is not explained on the download page which I find unhelpful.

  • Agent going to not ready after call hangup, Siebel CRM Connector, reason code 50002

    Hi Everyone,
We have Contact Center Enterprise UCCE 8.5.2 with CTOS integrated Siebel CRM 8.1.1 using
    Cisco Unified CRM connector
On daily basis we are receiving about 100 incidents that Agents goes to not ready after
talking to customer. and the reporting gives the reason code 50002.
As per Cisco its because of CTI server Failure/Agent desktop closed/network Problem.  But
In real there is no network issue, Agent not closing the Agent desktop. Also if this is
the case agent should be logged out but in pratical its stays logged in but moved to
    not-ready state(Reason 50002)
It could be  miss communication between UCCE and Siebal CRM connector.
One more thing its not happening with one customer only it happening in many deployment on
Version 8. Especially the one integrated with Siebel.
If anyone face the same issue please share the experience and the solution if found any!
    Regards,
    Atif Tanveer

    Atif,
If memory serves me right, CTI events are controlled and communicated by Siebel connector.  So when your users close Siebel or any other CTI controlling connector this will be same as closing CTIOS or CAD without proper logoff.  This will keep the phone out of synch and keep the user automatically into not ready to prevent any callers going to this device.
Simple answer you have to train users and make sure they close Close applications properly.
    Thanks,
    Baseer.

  • Out of Memory Error in Java Agents running in lotus notes

I have a java agent running inside lotus notes jvm. It runs fine for some days but after some days start giving out of memory error and terminates.
I need to restart agent manager in notes to enable java agent running. Is there a way to catch out of memory error so that on its catch i could restart agent manager.
    Regards,
    Saitu

    Dear Peter,
The agent is written in java and
I need to know a way to enter catch block of 'OUTOFMEMORYERROR'.
My whole code is in a try block with two catches, one for outofmemoryerror and another for exception. When outofmemory error occurs control passes to the exception catch and not outofmemoryerror catch.
Since out of memory is an error and not an exception, is there a way to catch it or run some code when out of memory occurs.
    Regards,
    Saitu

  • Java 1.6.0 on Solaris 10?

I'm writing an application that uses Java 1.6.x, so I've been trying it out on various operating systems...
Windows : peice of cake, installs and runs first time.
Linux : peice of cake, installs and runs first time.
Mac OS : need to download java beta 1.6 (or 6.0), but it does work.
Solaris : Oh my god...how the hell can I get this to work?
I can't believe how hard it is to run a java 1.6 applications on Solaris 10?
hang on a minute, doesn't Sun make Solaris?...and also make Java?
So, whats the trick, how do I install java 1.6 on Sun's Solaris 10 (x86) ?
    Thanks.
p.s. Sorry if I'm being stupid, but it doesn't make me want to run Solaris.

I ordered a new machine recently and had to load Java 6 manually. I was looking for a Sun package that would do this automatically and couldn't find one.
In brief, these are the steps I used:
    1. Download the self extracting version of the install. In my case, it was sparc:
    jdk-6u2-solaris-sparc.sh
    2. As root, cd to /usr/jdk and run the script.
    Myserver# cd /usr/jdk/instances
    Myserver# sh jdk-6u2-solaris-sparc.sh
    3. This should give you a new JDK directory like this:
    Myserver# ls -l
    total 4
    drwxr-xr-x 9 root bin 512 May 17 16:43 jdk1.5.0
    drwxr-xr-x 9 root bin 512 Aug 3 09:00 jdk1.6.0_02
    4. Now you need to point all the links in the /usr/jdk at the new instances/jdk1.6.0_02 directory.
    Myserver# cd /usr/jdk
    Myserver# ls -l
    total 12
    drwxr-xr-x 4 root bin 512 Aug 3 09:00 instances
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 7 May 16 14:59 j2sdk1.4.2_12 -> ../j2se
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 18 May 17 16:44 jdk1.5.0_11 -> instances/jdk1.5.0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Aug 3 09:00 jdk1.6.0_02 -> instances/jdk1.6.0_02
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Aug 3 09:01 latest -> jdk1.6.0_02
    drwxr-xr-x 7 root bin 512 May 16 15:19 packages
Does make me wonder if I've missed something or done it the hard way.

  • Cisco Agents goes to Not ready state

    Hi,
    I have use IPCC ver:4.0(5) SR01ES09_Build095.
We have encountered that our cisco agents automatically change state and it will goes from log-in state to Not ready state.
what was the solution where i have to check the logs.
    regards
    Salman

    Hi Salman-ahmad,
This could be the way you have your agents or CSQ configured, you can configure IPCC to have them to automatically goto Not ready or stay in ready. Have you check your system parameter's?
Under RMCM Subsystem, click the resource link on the left hand side,
there is a "automatically Available" radio box you need to select.
Otherwise you maybe hitting this bug.... Are these your symptom's?
    CSCsf11662 Bug Details
Agent goes to Not Ready after making Outbound call from Ready state
    Symptom:
Agent makes outbound call from ICD extension (to a non-ICD extension), when
the agent finishes the call, they go into Not Ready state when they expect
to be returned to Ready state.
    Conditions:
    - Cisco Customer Response Solutions (CRS) 4.0(3)
    - Agent makes outbound call from ICd extension whilst in Work state (after just finishing an incoming ICD call).
    - Agent places the outbound call on Hold at some stage during the call.
    Workaround:
If the above scenario occurs, Agent needs to manually change to Ready state.
    HTH, Please rate if so
    Regards,
    Justin

  • Every time I try to print a document, Pages goes unresponsive.

I'm using the latest version of Pages (5.1) on a white MacBook, (unsure of it's official name) with a wireless printer. Every time I try to print a document, (I've tried with multiple) Pages goes unresponsive and refuses to print. I've been able to print my documents from other computers and phone, so it's nothing on the printer's end.

"We would like to know if you would be able to provide the following:
    - OSX and Pages versions; Mac and printer model
    - is iCloud file sync On for Pages
    - a copy of a document that makes Pages unresponsive when printed
suggest logging in as guest or a new account and printing the document."
Logging in as a different user didn't work. I'm using OSX Mavericks 10.9.2, with Pages 5.1. The printer isn't actually mine, so I'm unsure of what model it is. Sorry! As for a copy of a document, it's any document I try to print, not just specific ones.

  • Java Agent Defaults

I see that the new Java Agent client has a setting for 'Maximum JVM Heap Size' in the profile settings. The default setting is set to something called "Default", but I can also enter a number in the other fields. Can you please tell me what this "Default" jvm number is set as?

Usually, it means use JVM's default setting ,64MB. It depends on OS and JRE version.
BTW, you can try run a line of java code to print out default JVM max heap size:

Is there any way how to see error log of java agent. I am running my application with the following params:
java -javaagent:rewriteagent.jar MainToBeRewrittenDuring instrumentation the javaagent fails. Unfortunatelly there is no report or log file about this incident at all - it just use uninstrumented class. Is tere any way how to see this log?
    Thank you in advance.
    OS: Windows XP

Well, I would say that both operating systems have their place. The key is that with Java you can easily port your code from Linux to Windows. This is a key benifit especially considering the strengths of each operating system for different tasks.
For me to make the move I had to completely remove Windows from my home network, that way I have to learn Linux if I want to get anything done. Of course everyone is different, but I would recommend that you do not give up on Linux, it has many benifits, not the least of which is the Linux do-it-yourself approach which requires one to learn a tremendous amount about the system on which they program. Also, with developing on Linux comes CVS source control, open source, etc. All of these can only help a Windows developer not hurt.
I am working on a document which will hopefully ease the transition from Windows to Linux for Java developers. I also want to create a similiar document for C/C++ programmers.
If Microsoft can't ignore Linux then we can't either.
    Best of luck!

  • Is Java still going to be popular?

Now that the .com boom has gone bust is Java still going to be a popular language?

On the web side, Java Server Pages, Java Servlets, and Enterprise Java Beans are becoming the tool of choice
for dynamic interactive websites.I have just completed a J2EE course, and recently atteneded a couple of seminars on asp.net.
I have to admit that Microsoft has done a great job on the web development front. The asp.net platform looks very impressive as long as your deployment is for windows world only and you don't mind being locked in with a single vendor/technology.
J2EE, on the other hand, offers the benefit of an array of choices for everything from the web server to the development IDE. However, putting everything together to make it work is another story!
So, IMHO, those companies that already are Microsoft shops and those who are only looking at the windows platform, will choose asp.net for their web applications. J2EE will only be attrative for cross-platform development, or to Java enthusiasts/evangelists.
    Have fun.

  • CCX - In CAD software agent goes into Reserved status.

    I have CCX 7.0 & CCM 7.1.
In CAD software agent goes into Reserved status when a call hit to the agent & the agent  is not able to take the call as all icons are greyed out. And this is happening to few agents only while for other agents its working fine.
    Can anyone suggets a solution.
    Rgds,
    Kiran Savalsang.

Or more accurately - ensure that the CSS that is assigned to the CTI ports includes the partition in which the agent DNs are configured.
They don't all need to be the same CSS, OR the same Partition.

  • How java is going to achieve asynchronous calls

How java is going to achieve asynchronous calls
(Ex. calls from a web service)
Is it doing by using threads or some other technique to do this???

I do not know whether there is any published API to do asynchronous invokations. If you write one you will have to use the threads to implement it.

  • Setup-Problem while installing AM Policy Agent 2.1 on Solaris 10

I'm new with AccessManager and try to get it working on Solaris 10 on a Sparc.
    I'm using LDAP-Server, WEB-Server 6.1 and AccessManager from the software-paket: "Sun Java System Access Manager 6 2005Q1" .
While trying to install policy-agents on the Sparc (by starting setup program), I've got the message: "The installer ist intended for Solaris Operating System only".
The agent-software I'm trying to install is "Access Manager Policy Agent 2.1 for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1" From there I choosed "Solaris SPARC 8".
(so I've got the paket "S1WebServer_6[1].1_agent_2.1_sparc-sun-solaris2.8.tar.gz").
In my opinion, it must be correct. Ist there anything i'done wronge?
    thanks, Paul

Even when there is no agent available for Solaris 10 now:
If you don't have any doubt to use an unsupported configuration, at
least the apache agent is installable.
You have to extract the packages "SUNWamapc" and "SUNWcom"
from the tar-archive and install it using pkgadd.
Then, you have to configure it manually ("include" in "httpd.conf",
    "AMAgent.properties").
Maybe, it is possible to do something similiar with the agent for
    SUN webserver.
Be aware that noone will guarantee that such unsupported
    installations won't raise any problems.
