Java and CG: asking JNI experts for advice

Hi,
I'm currently looking into coupling Java3D and CG (C for Graphics). The latter is a GPU language developed by Nvidia that resembles C. Now before I'm going to get myself involved in a potentially doomed-to-fail effort, I would like to ask JNI experts if they think it's possible to use CG code from within a Java program.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not asking you to write an example or anything. I just want developers with JNI experience telling me whether or not it is technically feasible...

Thanks for your reply. I'm not 100% sure of the idea that C can call CG, but it seems highly likely to me. After all, Nvidia created CG for games and other visually intense software. In fact, some C(++) programs out there, like 3D Studio Max, already claim to make use of CG.
So it looks to me like I need to create C libraries to talk to CG and use JNI to allow a Java3D application access to those C libraries (I'm joining you in the assumption that I can't have Java accessing CG directly).

There are also iSwifter, Photon, Skyfire, etc., some only support Flash some support Java and Flash.
Adobe never made a version of Flash for iOS and closed their mobile flash division a couple of years ago. You can get Flash on other personal devices but you will be using a 2 year old version that has not been patched for security vulnerabilities.
When the original iPhone was released Mr. Jobs said it would never run Java as it was old technology and a security risk. Nothing has changed since.

I was able to do this by logging in with FTP. I deleted contents of the "Collaboration" folder, restarted and set up my sites. It all worked like new.

New Oracle on Linux, Oracle noob seeking for advice

I am working as a consultant for a medical group and they are in the process of buying a ERP solution that requires a Oracle DB, since I am a network/security guy I will ask you guys for advice.
The idea is to install Oracle 10g STD One in a Dell 1950 server ( 3.0Gb xeon dual core, 4Gb RAM and 146 Gb SCSI 15K RAID mirrored setup), since they are starting from zero I think this setup will do with some minor upgrades in the future (this setup is for 50 users).
The idea is use RHEL 5 and get the Unbreakable Support, my questions are:
1. Can I run other services on the server without loosing Oracle support, like SAMBA?
2. Are there any differences between Oracle's and RHEL 5 distros?
3. Will oracle provide updates for packages like SAMBA?

First, EL5 is fully compatible with RHEL5. The only difference is about oracle logos. Whether you deploy rhel5 or el5 or not, you can get the unbreakable support. SAMBA packages are conatained in el5 and rhel5 dists. So oracle will provide updates for samba package and you will not loose oracle supprot.

It is not like compulsary to know JAVA and ABAP to work for XI.
But ,if you want to be in this technology,to know ABAP and JAVA it will always be benificial.
If you are using UDF s in your project,or working with ABAP and JAVA proxies ,JAVA and ABAP mapping, if you know ABAP and JAVA then it will be benificial to you.Otherwise what ABAPER or JAVA programmeer is doing you didn't understand clearly.
It is always advantage to know these two languages,but not compulsary.

I think most of your questions have already been answered.
Regarding the difference from SAP SRM, the E-Sourcing product is Java based and it takes lesser time to setup.
Configuration is through the UI.
Functionally, the benefits are very similar between ES and SRM - however E-Sourcing additionally supports Contract Document Authoring and Forward Auctions.
From the technical configuration point, Java and SQL skills are needed for customizations.
Also ES is available as an On-demand product.

Actually we have UCS 6248 fabric interconnect - first twelve ports are enabled and same in Cisco UCS Manager.
But when more port will be active by expansion module then UCSM can manage that too or need any other licence for UCSM too?

First, try tapping on the network in the Wi-Fi settings and then tap "forget this network". Then reselect the network in the main Wi-Fi settings screen and see if will then ask for a password. If not, try resetting the Network Settings in the General -> Reset section and then reconnecting to your W-iFi.

1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:

3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production, let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse, whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time. Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:

Asking for advice on adding products with descriptions to webpage

I am a web design and dreamweaver newbie and am in my very limited experience, working on creating a virtual mall. I'ts something I always wanted to do...go figure..lol. I do have a lot of companies that will advertise and I have access to their Java and HTML links. I have created (in my mind...lol) I pretty decent start on a homepage from a free template and I want to create pages with pictures and descriptions but I am not sure the best way to go. I cannot afford to have a pro do this for me so I am fishing for some good advice. I know about creating tables but I hear that tables are so 90's and dreamweaver can do it better in a different format. I have looked through the forums for advice but not have found what I am specifically looking for. The way I have it from the homepage is that I have links to product types in the content portion of spry accordian and created pages akin to my homepage to display them but from there...not sure. I do not have a lot of available free time, hardly any to be honest, so if anyone can point me in a good direction or have any good ideas, I would really appreciate it. Here are my questions:
1. Is there a better method to display products besides tables in CS4, and if so, how would I best proceed? The idea is 3 columns and 4 rows of products with descriptions underneath. The links provided by the companies would take them to the company website to purchase. I didn't want to alarm the companies by posting a site without some products available but I need some help.
2. Is it possible and if so, is it a good idea to add a spry tabbed panels into the content portion of the spry accordian? Would I have to establish an editable region or something specific to allow it to be functionable?

For Umlaut, you could probably use phonetic keyboard. Highly recommended.
Use "Ukelele" to create keyboard layout and use dead key to map umlaut (like 'u = ü). With phonetic keyboard you can type as fast as with native keyboard (if not faster) and in unlimited number of languages, without re-learning the layout.
Brackets are quite easy accessible on Apple keyboard.

According to the FC-SW-2 standard, Fabric Shortest Path First (FSPF) is a link state path selection protocol. FSPF keeps track of the links on all switches in the fabric and associates a cost with each link. FSPF tracks the state of links on all switches in the fabric, associates a cost with each link in its database, and then chooses the path with a minimal cost. The cost associated with an interface can be administratively changed to implement the FSPF route selection. Upinder will discuss Cisco's implementation of FSPF.

You can use my favorite command as below to find out the cost and check what path traffic will take. Here is a example :

This shows the total cost of all links.
The next hop (238) has two interfaces. This indicates that both paths will be used during load sharing. Up to sixteen paths can be used by FSPF with a Cisco MDS 9000 Family switch.

NetFlow is also supported by these devices Cisco 800, 1700, 1800, 2800, 3800, 6500, 7300, 7600, 10000, CRS-1 and these Catalyst series switches: 45xx, 55xx, 6xxx.
NetFlow export is also supported on other Cisco switches when using a NetFlow Feature Card (NFFC) or NFFC II and the Route Switch Module (RSM), or Route Switch Feature Card (RSFC). However, check whether version 5 is supported, as most switches export version 7 by default.
You can check the below steps to diagnose the issue::
To verify that NetFlow is exported from a device to PI, follow the steps below:
1)   Browse to Administration > Data Sources page. Check the value in column ‘Last Active Time’ for the ‘Device Data Sources’ table. If the table is empty or the value does not represent recent time, then
it is possible that the device is not exporting NetFlow or PI Assurance license is not applied / expired.
2)   Login to PI console ( via SSH) as root user and run the command:
                netstat –an | grep 9991 – Output of this should be like : udp        0      0 :::9991         :::*
                Check the firewall settings on PI server using the command: firewall -L
1)   Check the configuration on an IOS / IOS –XE device. Run the commands
a)   sh running-config | inc destination
1)   This should list the IP address of the PI SERVER ( along with other outputs if any)
b)   sh running-config | inc 9991
1)   This should list at least one entry.
c)   If the above are fine, then verify that the flow monitor, flow exporter and the flow records are correctly configured on the device.
