  • I need to ensure that the data environment is restored when user is returned to the main form

    Greetings...
    VFP 9.0 SP2, Win7 workstations, Server 2008
I have a form that contains many grids, the various tables have a relationship and everything works as it should.
The main form gives users the ability to run other forms and programs. When a user is returned to the main form, is there a way to ensure that the data environment is back to the way it was prior to call to
the other form/program?  I have tried create view/set view and I believe that would do what I want but when the set view command is issued, the grids are empty.
As always, any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Bob has it in very short.
If you want something to stay as it is, you don't do anything to it.
That sounds easy, but it means all your other forms have to use private data sessions to not disturb any state in the main form.
A forms dataenvironment is its definition of data to be opened. CREATE VIEW / SET VIEW is really just very basic and won't reconstruct everything, eg no record positions. While it reestablishes relations, this won't give you the situation you left, simply
because record positions are not saved, cursors are not saved, so all data queried while working is lost.
You may save more info, if you really want to reconstruct a situation after restarting the application. Then you have to save IDs (better than saving recnos) and reconstruct everything.
What is more workable is saving query parameters to find and navigate to the the same data again.
    Bye, Olaf.
Edit: Don't take "query parameters" too literal. This might be view parameters, but can be anything you use as search criteria to let users get to their current display of data.

  • Is there a Java API for Tree data structure?

    Hi,
I am wondering is there any Java API to work on Tree based data structure.
I could read in some forums / sites that teach me how to create tree based objects using collection.
But I wanted to know is there any core java API that can be used directly for tree based operations. (like binary tree or other type of trees)
    Please comment on this doubt.

Headed using google and other stuff not found one.
Suggestion: Why not start building the one, its a good idea to do that, isn't it.

  • I have followed "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer" but although I've worked through the dtages and it says it has worked, the expected internet explorer folder does not appear in bookmarks

I have installed Firefox today, and like the look of and the speed. But I have an extensive set of foldersin my IE Favorites and remebered passwords I don't want to have to reimput.
I have now tried twice folowing "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer " which seemed to go smoothly, once with IE open and the other with it closed, and closed down my PC between each attempted installation. Any ideas?

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • Association rules Java API (non-transactional data)

    Hi
I am looking at the demo java program (dmardemo.java) for association rules.
This iconverts the data from transactional format to non by using a nested column.
In my case the data are already non-transactional do I have to create a nested column or the model can be build based on the original columns?
    Thank u
    Kate

    Hi Kate,
Here is what we provide for ODM 10.2 (thanks to Kathy from our doc team in compiling this for me).
The following are db docs provided by Oracle, with sections noted that contain more info on transformations.
You can go to this link to view them: http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage
Concepts - Chapter 2 (general data prep)
Application Developer's Guide - Chapters 2 (general data prep), 5 (text transformation), and 7 (Java data prep).
    Java API Reference (javadoc)
PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference -- DBMS_DATA_MINING_TRANSFORM. In 10.2, the source code is still available.
Here are a few more sources:
Sample programs (The source code and embedded comments are quite helpful)

    ODMr Tutorial -- Chapter 2

There is also a book on the java api that is out.
You can go to Amazon and check it out:

In ODM 11, there have been alot of improvements related to transformations, but I can say anything about that until ODM 11 is released.
    Thanks, Mark

I believe SSH and telnet are used for interactive command line sessions, don't know how you want to use them in a program.

  • TS4022 Why does my icloud open in internet explorer when it is not my main browser?

Why does icloud open in internet explorer when I use Google as my main browser? I did something to make it happen and can't find how to change it back.

Hey man I was having the same problem and I found the answer.... Im going to put the steps you have to follow.
1.Open www.icloud.com on your Internet Explorer and if you're signed in you have to sign out.
    2. Open www.icould.com on your Google Chrome and then sign in and click on the box that says "stay signed in" or something like that.
    3. Try to open icloud the normal way you do it and it has to open on Chrome.
This worked for me, hopefully it works for you man, let me know.

  • Error in Internet Explorer when loading from cache

    Hello all,
I have this error in internet explorer when it's loading the swf from cache
    "ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData.
        at flash.display::BitmapData()"
If you have a solution for me I will appreciate.
    Thanks

I've just run into this error as well. It only occurs when you have loaded your SWF into cache and you refresh the page. This error does not occur if the user opens a new tab and visits the site (even if the cache has that SWF). Right now, I am stumped on how to resolve this issue without the help of Adobe. There is a critical site launch that depends on BitmapData to work properly.
Adobe, I will also be posting this in your bug system.

  • After downloading Firefox, it goes to a site called Sweet IM Search. I have to go to AT&T's home page. Why isn't it going directly to AT&T? Also, when I add to Bookmarks, it doesn't take it. It pulls up bookmarks from Internet Explorer when I had it.

    # * Numbered list item
Also, I've added bookmarks. I add a site to my bookmarks, it takes it, but later it's not there. It shows it under Internet Explorer when I had it.

  • Offline form in iPad DPS App that stores data and then sends when connected to internet

    Hi there,
I've built an "app" using InDesign and DPS. Great, whiz bang 360 spins, video, etc, etc but at the end I would like to have a form to record the users experience on the ipad or to record their experience of an event where the iPad was used. I have created a form in Acrobat XI, exported to FormCentral as a trial, linked to the form using a web frame within InDesign and then exporting out with DPS. App works fine, can see form, enter data and submit, check data via FormCentral admin system, all good.
However, is it possible to create the same app that works identically offline? I know the whiz bang stuff will work as it's built into the standalone app. I guess the html form will need to be stored locally, when a user submits the form it needs to write to the iPad and store locally and if/when the iPad makes a connection to the internet it can send the stored local data upto FormCentral for processing. The form would be filled in by multiple users at different times.
From trawling the web I can see forms can write locally to the iPad but then I also see pages of code, my eyes glaze over and I run for the hills. I just wondered if there was an easy solution? If not, can this be raised as an item in the wishlist for both FormCentral/DPS/Indesign? A nice clicky interface for us "non-coding" designers.
Any help would be most appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Rog.

    Hi Randy,
Thanks for coming back to me on this. Instead of a html form, can a pdf form embedded within a DPS app work?
I see that pdf forms can be filled in offline and data sent went back online but unsure as to whether this approach will work within a DPS app.
I saw a post you responded to
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3506205#3506205
You mention an article to the offline form in more detail but I get a broken link.
    Thanks again.

  • Java applet not showing up in Internet Explorer 8

    Hi,
I have an applet tag in a JSP, and it is not working in Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
Yes, I have read that the applet tag was deprecated - the problem is that it is working for my colleague, also in IE8.
Java is enabled on my machine/IE options.
Could anyone please suggest what the issue might be?
    Thanks.

I haven't tried resizing the applet yet. Since you all mentioned it I am going to play with that later today.
To elaborate on the fix, yes - updating to Java 6 - 16 will allow IE 8 to display applets.
Just in case anyone else runs into this issue as well:
I am running Vista on a 64 bit.
It has two directories named Program Files:
One named just "Program Files" - evidently for the 64 bit stuff.
Another named something like "Program Files (x86)".
Apparently it will look into "Program Files" - the 64 bit one by default.
I haven't found a 64 bit version of Java 6 - 16 to install - the only 64 bit one is some version of 1.5, unless I am missing something, so the Java 6 - 16 installed into the Program Files(x86), and 1.5 into Program Files. Windows pointed JAVA_HOME to 1.5 because it looks into the Program Files by default.
The result was that when I went to the Java site it analyzed my Java version and told me I have the most up to date version. But -
java -version on the console returned 1.5. Confusing at first, but on such systems, apparently the JAVA_HOME has to be explicitly repointed to the (x86) Program File directory.
