Java Applet cann't be loaded in IE5.0, how come?

When I open Internet Explorer(5.0) in my Windows2000 OS, and open a html page,it says "Exception:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException::ChatRoom.ChatRoomApplet.class".
I've downloaded and installed the java SDK1.4.0_02.
Any help?
thks.

Probably the chatroom is full???
OK, seriously, the chat applet probably was compiled to run with the (old) MS java virtual machine and won't run with any of the current jvm's - there could be a number of reasons.
Go to IE menu: Tools>Internet Options>Advanced and scroll down to Java (Sun) and uncheck it, and check the next box: Microsoft VM/Java console enabled. Close all IE windows. Try the chatroom.
This returns control of IE java to the MS jvm; it won't run newer applets; change back to Sun to run those.
Repost if you still have problems.

  • Unable to clear java cache and also unable to load JAVA Applets when QTP installed in PC

    Hi,
I am facing a problem when QTP 11.0 along with Java 6 Update 22 and Java Plugin  installed in the PC. The Java Applets are not being loaded in the webpages, when I try to load it through QTP, but when I try to load the applets manually that is working fine. Can anyone suggest any kind of solution for this. All the setup was being run on 32-bit and 64- bit PC's.
    Thanks in advance,
    Waiting for the reply.

start the weblogic server with the command startWeblogic. And then start the SOA server from Admin console. This is the issue. For starting servers from console, you need to configure node manager. Start SOA servers from command line using command startManagedWeblogic (as mentioned in Quick Start Guide for BAM server).

Do you see any further nested exceptions OR errors in the log file.
Considering that the same WLS-JDK combination works on one machine and does not work on another machine, it indicates an environmental issue.

Have tried installed Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_31 (64bit) in a test server (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 64-bit Operating System). The web page can be displayed with header and side menu."
I am suspecting if it has to do anything with the native libraries being loaded JAVA_LIB_PATH.
Please review the server log file again for identifying differences in LIB_PATH or PATH or any messages saying "Unable to load native.. performance pack.."

  • "Cancelled Opening the Page" when trying to run Java applet?

Hello just a quick question (I didn't know where else to ask) - I downloaded the Safari beta for Windows to try it out. So far so good, but one of the main sites I go to is a Java applet chat - I can load other applets just fine but for some reason this site keeps the gray cup Java icon and the status bar says "Cancelled opening the page". I've tried loading it as a tab, and as the only active window and the same thing happens; I'm unable to load the site. It works fine in other browsers - is this some issue with the beta?

Thank you all for your time and your help...everything is working great now :o)
Hope you all have a great day.

  • Add Files java applet does not trust our certificate

We have installed Novell Filr and it is working great except for one issue. The java applet that runs when the Add Files button is clicked does not trust our certificate authority. We purchased and installed a SSL certificate, and both IE and Firefox accept it (before installing, we got a certificate warning every time we went to Filr).
The certificate authority is Starfield Secure Certificate Authority, and we use certificates from them for our websites and mail servers, so I do not understand why this applet and/or Java do not.
Is there any way to stop the scary warning message our users get. FYI - this happens the first time the Add Files button is clicked in each session.

That sounds a little different than what this was designed to fix, but
by any chance have you installed the updated Java applets on the Filr
    appliance?

    Hi Paul
Whatever you do it will not work properly especially when some of the users try to use "edit in place". Save yourself the headache and install trusted certificate (primary and intermediate) then even Java will work ok.

  • 64-bit firefox on ubuntu 11.04 crashes trying to run 32-bit java applet, should this be possible?

on 64-bit Ubuntu installation I need to be able to run a 32-bit java applet within browser. If this is possible, how? With icedtea6 plugin (for 64-bit jre) firefox crashes when applet first starts to run.
    11.0+build1-0ubuntu0.11.04.1

    Hi,
You can try to install the Oracle Java via the Ubuntu Software Manager/Update Manager/PackageKit/Package Manager, if it is an option. Please note that you may have to temporarily disable the IcedTea plugin in '''Tools '''('''Alt '''+ '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Plugins '''to prevent conflicts when playing Java content in Firefox. Posting in the [http://ubuntuforums.org/ Ubuntu forums] would also be very helpful.

  • C++ calling java applet

    Hello,
Is it possible for Visual C++ to call methods from java applet. If possible, may I know roughly how to do so.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
You need to create JavaVM in your VC++ code.
Get the class of the Applet. Then get the method id in the applet.
    You can do it.
Since you have asked for rough idea, I stop with this.
And you can refer to the following URL
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/html/jniTOC.html
    All the best.

  • Loading Java Applet...  error

    Hi!
When I try to run the Sun demo SwingSet2, IE(5.0) hangs.
First I installed JRE 1.3.1(on advice of the demo site.)
Then it all end up with the text "Loading Java Applet..."
    in the grey box.
I have also tried to install different JRE versions but I just can't run a Sun demo applet (neither my own applets).
I would be very happy if someone could solve this problem.
    /Jonas
    InternetExplorer: 5.00.3315.1000
    Windows 2000

    Hi:
I just have a comment and one last suggestion.
First, I am able to run the SwingSet2Plugin.html with both IE5.0 and IE5.5 on Windows 98SE. I am currently using JDK/JRE1.3.1. A few months ago, I upgraded to 1.3.1_02 and found that some of my applets stopped working for no apparent reason, so I went back to 1.3.1.
If your applets stopped working because of an upgrade in JDK or JRE and you're using Windows, I suggest that you make sure that the previous version of the JDK/JRE were cleanly removed from the system. You can verify this by going to the Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Program to see if there are multiple versions of the software. Also, click start, run REGEDIT and look in the following folder for any remaining references to the JDK/JRE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->Software-->Microsoft-->Code Store Database-->Distribution Units
look for something with {...} or the prefix {CAFE...  and remove any remaing older versions (I know most people wouldn't touch regedit with a ten-foot pole but this may be the only way to solve the problem).
I use a lot of applet and am particularly interested in cases where ppl have problems with using applet and find out how the problems are resolved.  If my suggestions worked or if you find out what caused the problem, I would appreciate your sharing the info.
    Good Luck!
    V.V.

  • Java Applet taking long time to load

    Hi,
I have a swing based Menu generator Applet. On clicking a Menubar item, I have called a new class [ MyEntry1 my1 = new MyEntry() ], which called one or more utility classes. My main applet (which I have used in <Aplpet> tag in .html file) is very small. But from that, I have called severel classes which are not very small.
My Problem is, when i am trying to run my applet through IE 5, it is taking long time (180-250 secs.)
Can anyone give me some tips, how to minimise the loading time? I am using Applet/Servlet/JDBC to develop a web application, which will be used remotely. Using Tomcat server. Any code snippets will be very helpfull for me.
    Thanking all gurus in advance.

Hope someone can tell me why my Java takes so long to
load when I go into a online game..I don't think anyone in here can. You could call your local computer repair-shop to have them take a look at your PC.
