Error while generating java client code from wsdl file
I am trying to generate a java client code from WSDL file um_workflowSaveCreateProfile.wsdl which includes um_workflowSaveCreateProfile_interface.wsdl file, so I am keeping both the files in the same folder and trying to generate the client code but it is showing me the below error highlighted .

Will there be NLS issues in the above code, where I pass the rowId content
that I obtain from one query, as array of string bind variables to a subsequent PLSQL procedure? --- first approach

do I need to pass the rowId list , as a array of oracle.sql.ROWID via bind variables? -- second approach
The problem I have in second approach is that in the DB we cannot define a type as a table of ROWID's. So currently I have RowPointerList as a table of varchar2's (note the length of list of rowId is not predetermined in my case, so I user table instead of varray).
However I was wondering if the first approach will have any NLS issues.

ThanksROWIDs are represented as either hex-encoded values or base64 encoded values. Both encodings use pure ASCII, so there should be no NLS issues.
I am not very familiar with the oracle.sql.ARRAY type, but unless absolutely necessary, I would avoid the oracle.sql.CHAR datatype (assuming 10g drivers). Using java.lang.String is preferred.

DIR API - Java client code question
Dear all,
I am trying to create a communication channel using the directory API using the PI7.1 WSDL(tried to import wsdl from URL ; also tried from ESR ext def n manualy defining the binding). Implementation is using Java proxy.
The create() method of CommunicationChannelServiceVi expects a CommunicationChannelCreateChangeIn object as argument. Now this class doesnu2019t have a set method for the communicationChannel attribute. So I canu2019t see how we pass on the data to be used to create the communication channel, e.g communication channel name or description or other properties of it.
Could someone explain why is that / advice how to go about it please?
Treid with NWDS and Netbeans IDEs but get the same output.

The reason why there isnu2019t a set method is that, the value we are trying to set is a List(the thought behind it is - if you are allowed to set it, you could essentially overwrite what is already in it).
There is a get method which will return a reference to the list, that can be used to add values.

Using Portable datasource lookup for a java client in OC4J 10g
Hi,
I'm in the process of porting a standalone java client to j2ee. At the moment I have a thick java client which uses jndi to access a global datasource configured on the OC4J server (10.1.2.0.2) and it works fine.
Using the 'Services Guide' I decided the next step was to deploy the client as a J2EE application. At the moment the j2ee application only contains the descriptors (i.e application-client.xml and orion-application-client.xml packaged under META-INF in a .jar. This is, in turn, packaged in an .ear along with application.xml (again under META-INF.)
This is where I'm hitting problems. The following config produces a 'javax.naming.NameNotFoundException' error

"jdbc/Test" was configured through OAS and is present in data-sources.xml (it is the ejb-location property).
I'm running the client through Jdeveloper. I've used SJSAS previously and was use to configuring and deploying a application module through it's own tool. SJSAS also has a tool (appclient) for running the client. Is there something similar I should be using in OC4J?
The services guide only mentions web.xml and ejb-jar for portable datasource lookup but I assume it's also possible using application-client.xml.
It seems to me that my descriptors don't mention the j2ee application explicitly. Am I missing an entry in one of the xml descriptors. Any help would be appreciated this is driving me crazy!

The configurations for your client.xml files look ok. Question: where did you configure the datasources.xml i.e. under j2ee/<OC4J_Name>/config or under the application-deployments/<appname>, kindly check and let us know.

Problem while invoking webservice-method in client-code
Hi,
I had written webservice-client-code (using uddi-ext.jar, as i am using uddi for publishing webservices.) which is invoking webservice method successfully with complex datatypes(both for return type and input paramters).
But while calling following webservice-method from my client-code:

it is throwing exception
The Exception is:

Although I had done correct registration of mapping of ArrayOfString in client-code:

Catching SOAPException at Java Client
We have a 3 tier application where in Front End is in Java , Middle layer is in SOAP deployed using Systinet Server for c++ and backend is in DCE( Distributed Computing Environment ) .
We are calling DCE specific RPC through a SOAP Services, now when a specific DCERPC fails, SOAP Server binary crashes and on Front end Java , only Temporary delays error message gets displayed.
SOAP Java Client code files are generated using WSDL , now at SOAPServer CPP exception is written using inbuilt Systinet Exception handling mechanism
and the same has to be caught at the Java side.
In CPP side , the code for Trims

How do I call an ejb from a java client?
I put ejb classes in a jar file along with java client code and deployed it on my OC4J server. Now I am trying to run the ejb by calling the client code on my OC4J server from the command line but I am not having success. Am I doing this the right way? Should I also deploy my client code? Should the client code also be in a directory on my OC4J server?

Can someone provide me the steps to change it into a exe so that i can use the application in any computer. THANK YOU!You could use Google. I know, it means you need to do some research yourself. But an exe will only work on a Windows platform. Try looking for a tutorial on jar files instead.

Oracle 9i lite connection with a Java Client
Hi,
I would like to connect a Java Client developed using PersonalJava edition for PDA with an Oracle 9i lite version which is also on PDA.
I would like to know is it possible to connect such a client (Java) using some JDBC drivers on PDA.
if yes please do suggest a suitable driver and some input tips as to how to connect a GUI developed in Java directly to Oracle on PDA.
I am not too sure whether some web/application server is required in the whole setup.
because in N-Tier Architecture we have a middle layer of Application /Web servers in between a client screen(usually a Browser) and Database.
but I am not aware weather it is possible to directly connect Java Swing or Client application as I mentioned above developed using Personal edition with a database using only some driver software but no other middle ware component in between.i.e forming a 2 tier client server model.

Client app using WSSE for authentication, WSSEClientHandler not found
Hi,
I'm trying to build a stand alone java client that uses login/password to connect to a webservice using WSSE.
I thought that
soapProxy = proxy.getCCSoap(username,password);
would do the job. CC is the name of the web service.
Now I've found on http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/security.html#1073530
that I should use WSSEClientHandler from weblogic.webservice.core.handler and UserInfo from weblogic.xml.security do get the job done.
Problem is now that neather of these classes are included in the support Jar i've downloaded from my web service's console.
The error I get is this:

But I don't understand the error since the soapheader realy does contain the UsernameToken! But weblogic can't find it for some strange reason.

ORA-01804 when calling function from java client

we changed a PL/SQL-function that is called from a java client from using sysdate to localtimestamp. The function works fine in TOAD, but when called from the java client ist throws an ora-01804: failure to initialize timezone information.
Any suggestions?

I changed it from localtimestamp to systimestamp and it works fine.
Do i have to make any settings about the time zone in the jdbc thin client ?

Difference between RSA5 and AWB-- Business Content tab?
Hi all, RSA5 is for installing the business content datasources. AdministratorWorkBench--> BusinessContent is also used for installing the Business Content Datasources. So what is the difference between these two options? Thanks.
