JAVA CORRUPTED/MISINSTALLED

My games were all working fine. All of a sudden cannot access any games. keep getting error java corrupted/misinstalled. really don't know anything about java. Called Aol, no results. had internet explorer 5.0 upgrated to 6.0 hoping that would fix. still a problem. Please help at the end of my rope. Have been downloading java stuff but nothing helps. pullin out my hair! any help would be appreciated. Susan

Just wanted to make sure this is correct go into find files java and delete everything then download the Java from this website and it will fix? i tried taking all java's out of add or remove the software from control panel and downloaded this one again. but if there is more than one on the website maybe i downloaded the wrong one. As you can see i'm really stupid at this. Thank you both so much for replying to my problem.

I go to a site called "Pogo Games " and play cribbage and Bingo etc. I have been doing this for about 2 years. All of a sudden a few weeks ago the games won't load and I recieve the message " java Corrupted or Misinstalled". I upgraded my Browser as recommended but I do not know how to uninstall the old jave which I feel just keeps corrupting the new install. Can this be right? Any clues to a remedy? Thanks for any and all consideration to this problem. Earl at ([email protected])

  • PLEASE  HELP ME..ERROR: JAVA CORRUPT ..

Hello! I bought a disk called the UnInstaller by McAfee. I had some items I wanted removed off of my computer, but really had no idead exactly what I was doing. I told the disk to make the most availible space on my computer. Well, needless to say, I somehow delelted something crucial to the Java program. I have no idea of how to fix this, as I have already tried reinstalling the browser, and it still didn't help. When I try to go to Pogo.com to play the games, since I deleted over 10,000 files, I have been receiving this message that I have pasted below:
    The following error has occurred:
    Java Corrupted or Misinstalled
    Explanation:
This error occurs when your Java software has been either misinstalled on your browser or if Java software has been corrupted in some way. Some of the symptoms include a large number of "exception errors", applets not showing up (or showing up as a blank or gray frame), and other crash problems.
    How to Fix the Problem:
The best way to solve the problem is to upgrade to a newer version of the browser you use. This will come with the latest versions of the Java software so you'll be able to run our Classic Games properly. (You should uninstall your current version before you begin the upgrade in order to start with a clean setup.) If you're already using the latest version of your browser and are experiencing this problem, it's still best if you uninstall your browser and then reinstall to begin anew.
I have done as the error message stated to do in order to correct this, but I am not able to play any online games now because of this stupid mistake I made. If anyone can help me, it would be so helpful and greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time. Have a great day :-)

  • Java Corrupted

Please help me. I'm very new to Java. In an effort to update my version of Java, I mistakenly downloaded 1.4.1-beta. I now have 2 versions of java 1.4.1-beta and 1.4.0-01. When I try to load games on Pogo, I get the following message: Java corrupted or misinstalled.
I have tried to delete the beta version (many times) using the "Add/Remove Programs". I have also reinstalled internet explorer.
Can anyone help me uninstall this version.

i had a problem like this (i don't remember exactly what i did but)
unistall via the add/remove programs all the java stuff.
go in to explorer and delete any dir's that are left over
clear the Environmental var JAVA_HOME if it is set. (in control panel -> system -> advanced on win2k not sure where on the non NT maybe autoexec.bat or such)
    reboot
install the jdk of your choice.
    set the JAVA_HOME environmental var
in the IE options -> advanced set IE to use the sun jre instead of the microsoft VM
    and you should be ok
if not you may need to delete java related entries from you registry file
    hope this helps

  • Java 1.4.2_03 Windows: The configuration data for this product is corrupt.

Trying to install j2SE 1.4.2_03 JRE on a Windows system (exact version needed for a bussiness application) after all previous Java installations have been deleted and all Windows Registry Java related keys have been manually deleted with Regedit.exe.
The EXE installer works properly in other machines but in this one it stops after a few seconds with the following message:
"The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel".
The problem is related to the Windows install mechanism rather than the Java installer itself and likely caused by the manual Registry deletion.
The error code is 1610: ERROR_BAD_CONFIGURATION.
Reinstalling Windows didn't fix the problem.
Unable to recover the system to a previous state with the System Recovery Tool (Accesories/System Tools).
Other versions of Java installers fail the same way and show the same message.
I don't know how to contact "my support personnel" nor who they are.
I'd appreciate any help about this problem or what Java installers need within the Registry to work or a clue of any kind.

Sorry for the duplicated message. It's my first post and I messed up a little with the right section.
A new downloaded copy of the file or other versions of Java failed to install with the same error message.
I've learned there is a product ID in the registry that must be present for the installer to run. I'm searching for this "mysterious" product ID and how to set the right Windows XP Registry entry for the JSE 1.4.2_03 version.
I'm still not sure this will fix the problem.

    Hi all!
Since I've spent some days now trying to figure out what was wrong with my file upload in Struts 1.1, I would like to share my solution with the rest of you in order to spare you for the same amout of wasted time I've spent :-)
My platform is Resin 3.0.8 and Struts 1.1. My problem was that JPEG's got corrupted when arriviving at the server. After a few days searching on the net, I tried with a plain servlet and the O'Reilly package, and the app worked perfect.

  • Oracle 8i Personal Install corrupts Sun Java 2 development environment

I encountered no errors during installation of Oracle 8i Personal for Windows/NT; and the sample database appears fully functional.
However, the Sun Java 2 development kit (JDK 1.2) that I use for other projects is no longer functional. The registry appears to have been corrupted by the Oracle 8i installation. Now, whenever I attempt to run a Java 2 program I encounter the error:
    "Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.1', but '1.2' is required."
Does anyone have suggestions on how to cure this problem?
    null

Although I installed 8i Lite rather than personal Oracle 8, my experience was unlike yours. My jdk2 never stopped working - although, when I think about it, I did have to immediately fix a bunch of problems I visually detected after the install.
After the installation, my Registry (on Win95) remained set correctly to version 1.2 of the javasoft runtime environment.
My autoexec.bat file however was badly trashed by the installer - my multiple classpath statements were all combined into one monolith at the end.
I hate products that silently overwrite carefully crafted key system files with no prior warning and no automatic backup process.
After an hour or two recovering the autoexec and setting environment variables for jdk 1.2, everything is fine with my jdk setup.
In the NT world, I can't help you with recovering your jdk2 environment. However, I'd check your environment settings on NT very carefully to ensure the installer hasn't wreaked havoc with them.
You can also try re-installing the jdk2 run time environment from sun's web site.
    Good luck.

  • Corrupted java.io.stream.CorruptedException in servlet

    I am getting
    Corrupted java.io.stream.CorruptedException in servlet
    while reading data from JApplet.
    The error description is
Caught EOF Exeption while reading the streamheader.
Kindly let me know if anybody has got a solution to this.
    regards

are you passing serialized objects through the i/o stream? If you're code is sending serialized objects they may be reconstructed incorrectly by the recipiant. When reading the input stream, its likely your JAplet is misinterpreting the object it recieves, resulting in a 'corrupted' exception. If this is the case, make sure your JAplet is constructing the correct type of object from its input.
not much help really, but better than nothing I guess.
