No. Don't get confused about the use of J2SE. J2SE means Java 2 Standard Edition and is basis for all Java Programs.
Plain J2SE Adapter means: That adapter runs on any system where the Java library is available (in contrary to J2EE adapter which runs only on a J2EE server).

It looks like the JCE file which you have downloaded is not the correct one. As you can see some jar files are missing. Check JCE files.

Installing Crypto toolkit on XI

I need to deploy/install Crypro toolkit on XI and I followed the instructions on SAP XI configuration documentation.

No sdas for Java Cryptographic Toolkit

I want to install Java Cryptographic Toolkit on my WAS 6.40. I see the related doc

Unfortunately, it is said:
"Using the SDM Remote GUI, connect to the SAP J2EE Engine and deploy the SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit SDA that applies to your J2SE version (1.3.x or 1.4.x). "
But I do not have sda for the Toolkit.
What I have is 3 jar files (iaik_jsse.jar, iaik_jce.jar and iaik_ssl.jar), and some txt file.
I've allready installed the crypto lib (sapcrypto.dll).
Can anyone tell me where to find the sda or how to install crytpo toolkit without it ?

you can download the SDA file for cryptographic toolkit from the service.sap.com
Here, goto the Downloads option. There you can find SAP Cryptographic Software link. Here download "SAP JAVA CryptoToolkit (J2EE Engine as of Release 6.30)".

We had already checked the procedures, we are working based on the System Copy Guide: "System Copy for SAP Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 ABAP+Java".
I had to mention that source and target systems are HP-UX, 11.23, Itanium and the DataBase is Oracle 10.2.02.
The copy was made from a Central System (ABAP + Java) to a High-Availability System (ABAP + Java), and the problem appeared when copying the Central Instance.

Deprecation warning for getFontMetrics(java.awt.Font) in java.awt.Toolkit

Hi all,
When I use the following code
JComponent c;
FontMetrics metrics = getToolkit().getFontMetrics(c.getFont());
I get this following warning during compilation:-
warning: getFontMetrics(java.awt.Font) in java.awt.Toolkit has been deprecated
JDK suggests to use getLineMetrics() of the Font class.
But there's an issue with that: if I use getLineMetrics(), there is no API method that I can use to get the width of a string as opposed to FontMetrics which provides stringWidth(String str) method for that purpose. In fact all the methods in FontMetrics are not mapped into LineMetrics.
Could anyone please help or provide me at least some pointers on how to tackle this issue so that I can get rid of the deprecated method along with the existing methods mapped to equivalent APIs? The bottomline is that I should be able to maintain the existing functinality of my application for those part of code that uses getToolkit().getFontMetrics().

Use Graphics.getFontMetrics(font) instead.
After creation your frame and calling frame.show();
You can access it like that
frame.show();
frame.getGraphics().getFontMetrics(new Font("Arial",0,10));
before showing graphics is null.
Or just create a BufferedImage and ask it for graphics.
BufferedImage img=new BufferedImage(...);
img.getGraphics().getFontMetrics(font);

Compatibility between Java crypto and open ssl

I have some question about compatibility between java crypto and openssl library.
This is my case:
1.I created DESede key and stored it to file:

You have carefully left out some critical java code, namely the Cipher.getInstance() method. You'll notice in the documentation for this method that there 3 components to the "transform" argument of this method, the algorithm, the mode, and the padding. All of these must match exactly with the what openssl is using. Furthermore, if you are using one of the modes which require an IV, like CBC mode, then this must match exactly too. If you don't explicitly specify some of these parameters, you might get default values supplied. It is up to you to find out what these are.

Quality of Cursors created with java.awt.Toolkit(createCutsomCursor)

I encountered a small problem while creating my own cursors for my Java application , I used the java.awt.Toolkit Objects createCustomCursor method to use a .GIF image as a cursor ... it worked but the quality of that cursor is horrible, the outline is rough ... I tried the same with a transparent PNG file afterwards unfortunately the same result , does anyone know why the quality is that bad or may this just be a problem of the choosen color pool ?
Help would be very appreciated since I have no clue how to use .cur files ... seems like a non supported format , in case someone knows how to import those it would help a lot if you would drop some lines of code.
I am currently using Java 2 SDK 1.4.0_01 , newest version.

I noticed this problem too. It looks like the routine is generating cursors which are scaled to to the maximum size of the system. On my win XP system,
Dimension dim = toolkit.getBestCursorSize(256, 256);
int maxColors = toolkit.getMaximumCursorColors();
return 32,32 and 256 respectively
If I provide a 16x16, all the pixels have been pixel doubled. If I specify a 32x32 image, then the cursor looks perfect. This looks like a bug for the java folks. Not sure why someone would ever want a cursor image to be pixel scaled.

Java system copy problems with the Java Migration Toolkit

There is no log file by the name runJmt.log.

This issue was resolved by OSS note 966752 itself. Below is the important line in the OSS note.
Note: The default value is crucial! If a custom value other than the default value was applied, we highly recommend that you restore the default value.

Removing the Java Deployment Toolkit?

Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to remove the Deployment ToolKit .dll from the machine or disable it in browser within an infrastructure? I wanted to see if there are any other functionality that could be impacted I remove the deployJava1.dll from my machine or disable it in browser?

By blocking the Java DT plug-in, the Java version detection mechanism is disabled. Therefore, when a user tries to launch a Java applet or application, that requires a specific Java version other than the active Java version on a user’s system, it will fail.
Does this mean the application will break? Or just that the detection mechanism will be broken for the application version check and the app will still run? I would like to remove these bits to ensure no version checking is done on my systems.

Your "More System Details" doesn't show any Java plugin at all. Are you sure you have the current version installed? This test page will lead you to a download if needed:

If you have Java installed, check whether its two plugins (Java Platform SE and Java Deployment Toolkit) are set to "Never Activate" on the Add-ons page. That disables them. Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Note that disabled plugins cluster at the bottom of the list.

How to use KAWT with "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta"?

Im new to developing java for mobile devices so all of this is pretty confusing for me. I started with installing suns:s "Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" and it works fine but now I want to use awt classes so I started to look it up and that�s how I found out about kawt. I followed the tutorial at http://www.kawt.de/ and i was able to use it for Java Wireless Toolkit 1.0.4_02 so that it compiled fine and was run able.
Then I tried the same thing in v 2.3 but I got a error that looked like this "Uncaught exception java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: awtDemo: /awt/event/ActionListener: Cannot create class in system package." when i tried to run it. It compiled fine when I pressed the build button witch wouldn�t have happened if i hadn�t installed it correctly. So I�m wondering if someone knows were to find a tutorial for installing kawt for "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" or if anyone knows what might be wrong?

If using the zip install of DSEE, you need to use your own java container to host DSEE. Try downloading the latest Tomcat (http://tomcat.apache.org) and deploying your dscc in it.

Java wireless toolkit beta 2.5

i have been having problems my application in a palmOne tungsten E2.so i thought may be somethin is wrong with my code, i tried installing one of the demos that came with java wireless toolkit 2.5 beta, and it have the same error.The pda cnt seem to install applications created by the toolkit, anyone know why?pls help, its urgent.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
My version of Java is 1.4.2. I'm running Redhat Linux 4.0. Coldfusion MX 6.1.
I know this isn't a Coldfusion forum, but I really need some help here.
I'm new to Java technologies, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

can ColdFusion load Java objects?
Presuming that it can, then ColdFusion probably needs some configuration to tell it the Java directory or where the class files are (JavaHome/jre/lib/rt.jar)

Substitute of java.awt.ToolKit.getDefaultToolKit.beep()

Hello everybody. I am designing a Swing Application and there I am using java.awt.ToolKit.getDefaultToolKit.beep() method to generate sound in various operations. I want to know is it possible to generate own sound as a substitute of this method? I think it is possible. How can I do this? Thank you.
